there's this lesbian couple (married!!) at my church and we were taking pictures for our updated directory last sunday. they had gotten their picture taken before me, so they were still standing there when i went up to be awkward and when i was done one of them was just staring at me and then she told me i had a really nice smile and i havent stopped thinking about it since tbh

#seeing that post about mentally going 'look at me!! do u see me!!' when you see other queer people in public reminded me that i was gonna #post about this. bc that's been me every day since one of them wore a rainbow bowtie #up until then i wasnt positive they were queer. still wasnt tbh bc i dont like to assume but i at least felt more confident about it #and then i thought /maybe/ the lady that attends with her every week is her partner #but then when they went up to get their picture a guy next to me told me (not out of nowhere or anything we'd already been talking lol) #that they were a lovely couple and that he had officiated their wedding #and im like !!!!!! doing my best to react like a normal person and not like a queer youth who just got confirmation that there's fellow #queers at my church. and not just queers but a married butch lesbian couple somewhere between middle aged and old (im not good at guessing #ages but i know they're quite a bit older than me) #and that instance was the first time either of them have acknowledged me (outside of a group convo precovid where we talked about our cats) #it just made me really happy #maison speaks
