you know. as i Lead Things and moderate servers and watch dynamics between people. im starting to notice a pattern

i see a lot of folks in this fandom saying "ohhh there are so many Cliques people just talk with who they know and never start conversations with anyone"

AND THEN THEY RETREAT BACK INTO THEIR OWN LITTLE BUBBLE AND NEVER START CONVERSATIONS WITH ANYONE THEY DON'T KNOW

and that's valid!! anxiety is a bitch!! but my guys. my besties. my pals.

everyone is exactly as anxious about talking to you as you are about talking to them

if you want people to interact with you, YOU must also interact with THEM. if you sit around waiting for people to come up to you, nobody knows who you are!! go comment on their stuff!!! tell them their character is pretty!! put yourself out there!!! I KNOW IT'S SCARY AND BAD BUT YOU CAN DO IT, I BELIEVE IN YOU

and like yes yes sometimes people are just assholes. But. a lot of the time people are just...out of spoons. theyre tired. it's not because they hate you specifically or because they don't want anyone outside of their friendship circle to talk to them. please, please don't assume malice when you can assume ANYTHING else.

.....anyway, i don't have a good way to end this, but. food for thought, i guess.
