🔮-An HC for Rosen the Drifblim!

     For Drifloon and Drifblom, the inability to get anywhere they want to go when flying, is an over-exaggeration. While they are susceptible to gusts of harsh winds, ones in the wild prefer to let the breeze carry them, as it is not as though they need to eat or sleep, and occasionally use it to get to a specific destination faster. In truth, when they choose this method of travelling, it is more as a form of fun and a deliberate attempt to end up somewhere they have not been before. What Drifblim actually use to get from point A to point B efficiently, without any interference from the wind or other pokemon, is Phantom Force. After all, it is used as something akin to a ghost-type version of teleport, and eliminates the threat that storms or odd weather phenomena pose.

     Serena and Rosen are no exception to this. In fact, it is quite a popular means of getting around for hex maniacs, mediums, and others with similar gifts who have ghost-type pokemon. Due to Serena’s ability to communicate with the dead—and therefore her mind technically in a constant state of being so slightly in-between the two planes of existence—and, later on, immortality, this method of transportation is one that proves to be highly efficient and safe. Not to mention, it proves useful when dire situations require her presence. The only stipulation is that Rosen has to have been to the location they wish to visit before, and it had to be in the same region that they are currently in. Otherwise, it is simply too much of a drain on the Drifblim, and could potentially end up in the two ending up somewhere far from their destination.

A Lesson in Nature ~ Closed

Delphine waited for the hall to fill. Unova was new on her lecture circuit, but she felt that her ideals would be fairly accepted in the area. They had the Poke Musicals already; what was one more flashy show with a person’s best friends? She adjusted her black woolen cardigan and a warm smile before stepping up to the podium.

“Welcome, welcome, everyone. I am Delphine Hayle. I am here to discuss the viability of Pokemon Contests as an alternative to the Battling Circuit for trainers who prefer a less violent journey with their friends.” She paused briefly, taking in her crowd. Only a second later, she was pressing the button to release a massive Froslass. “There are plenty of benefits to a non-combative partner and the challenges one faces together are as important, if not more so, than physical fights. Contests are about strategy, command, and an unwavering bond between the competitors. As the current reigning champion for Beauty in the Kanto and Hoenn regions, Onna here is a wonderful example.” The ghostly Pokemon covered her mouth with a pleased little sound. Delphine grinned before looking back out to the group. “In Hoenn, where I am from, it is encouraged to both claim the gym badges and go through the contest halls. In both Johto and Kanto, the idea has been well received, both regions in their third and four years, respectively. And in Sinnoh, we are starting to see it taking off as a fairly popular hobby.”

While she spoke, Onna seemed to dance slowly in a circle. The Pokemon blew out little flurries of snow. Most landed on Delphine, though a good deal wound up on the floor and the first few rows of people.

“In Unova,” the woman continued, brushing off the frost only to have more added by the bored Pokemon, “you have something similar: Pokemon Musical in Nimbasa City. It’s fun and engaging, as well as a test of friendship and respect. Younger contestants are just as capable as the older trainers in these settings. Though, unfortunately, it is only the one theater for the entire region and only offers so much as a substitute for gyms and the battling circuit. That’s why I am here today. I want to raise awareness for this safe alternative. And, with any luck, have some of you leave with an awakened interest.”

A series of static noises that were meant to resemble some sort of ‘Game Over’ sound, but came out sounding nowhere near as melodious as Rotom had meant for it to due to the limitations of the machine it inhabited. (Someone seriously needed to upgrade this dusty old thing.)

“GAME OVER, GAME OVER! YOU LOOZZZE! Player Rozzza, you are out of creditzzz! But you were clozzze!” A straight faced lie. It was in the machine specifically to make people lose. “Your prizzzze izzz within your grazzzp!” It really, really wasn’t, but to make the lie seem more believable, it pushed the toy she’d been trying to win a little closer to the exit with the machine’s claw. “PLAY AGAIN? Play again for 50 BP??? Returning cuzzztomerzzz get an extra try for FREE!!!”

how much effort does your muse put into their costume for halloween parties and other dress-up events? do they have any go-to costumes? Also does your muse decorate their mobility aids at all? IE. with bumper stickers, regular stickers, things hanging from the handle/s(Edited from another ask on the list to better fit the muse)

last year ree transformed their entire wheelchair into a train and they went as a train conductor, and they put effort like they into every single one of their costumes to the best of their ability.

As for decorating mobility aids, they painted flames on their wheelchair and have spikes for the handles (so people don’t just go and grab them without asking), and their cane has a carved friend ball for the top of it! They also have a second cane they got for Christmas that makes lightsaber sounds, which is pretty dope.

🗡 How does your muse train?

trainer development questions // accepting

She heavily prefers properly battling other trainers as opposed to going out and wailing on some wild Pokemon for a few hours. She's not really strict about it, but she makes sure not to go too long without giving her team a general tune-up. The only real exceptions to this attitude are major tournaments - Roxie will make absolutely sure everyone is ready to go for those.
