I think I’m gonna redo my Beltane ritual tomorrow since it’s the “real” date and the full moon anyway. And I should be able to go outside this time lol.

I still need to edit the part I don’t like though.

I have always had a hard time relating to this holiday. It feels so heteronormative, binary and focused on procreation that it’s a bit alienating for me.

But I read a blog post yesterday about the holiday representing an end to (winter) seasonal depression for the writer and that I can understand. For me, Imbolc not only represents what it does but also the light coming back and the depression starting to lift, and Beltane feels like the end of that process. And also, when it gets warmer my joints hurt less. It’s like a return to being a person, mostly.

And you know what? I think that’s okay. I don’t like celebrating holidays for no reason (I am just once for my bardic course, just to give ‘em a try) but if there’s a practical element, it’s much more likely to ‘stick’ for me.

So yeah. Giving it another shot tomorrow. Just probably without the wand-in-chalice, etc imagery 😒

I’m just now starting Frost & Starlight but I’m dreading Silver Flames. I loved that we got to see Cassian, and more Azriel, and parts of Nesta’s redemption were beautiful to experience. Also the Nesta/Cassian storyline, once she stops being cruel to him, is sooooo cute. Him learning to dance and getting the music for her 🥹

But there are some truly tedious parts of this book that I am not looking forward to. Before I even joined fandom, Gw*n was my least fav and I skimmed almost all of her scenes. A lot of the library/priestess stuff was a trudge. And then the fact that I can’t really remember 75% of this 800+ page book does not bode well.

So like many people, I watched AEW last night. Watched the MJF promo and like others, lost my shit. Part of me was also like "I know what he's saying is super important and this is a Moment...but Max looks hella good right now. Like, the shirt looked great, such a good colour on him. Pants looked so good too 👀"

Not sure why I thought to cofess this to you but thought you would also appreciate his fashion sense too.

After watching the promo so many things, I just paid attention to him and… yeah. The red shirt, the pants… he looked absolutely gorgeous. As always.

does your boss ever just give you busy work because they’re on a power trip? mine does. for example: i emailed a wholesale customer yesterday explaining how we had a few shortages on her order, i detailed all the shortages by the style of shirt, how many she ordered, and what was missing. all in all, it was a handful of shirts but i get that it’s inconvenient. she emailed back saying maybe hold off on the order, even though it was already in production, because her client wanted the order in full even though I had explained to her before she placed the order that our inventory changes from day to day so i can’t guarantee the order until it’s placed and pulled from our inventory.

anyway since my boss can see me emails, he immediately calls and like this isn’t good, why aren’t you emailing these people before we run the order? maybe because i didn’t know i lol as supposed to since rules change daily. he’s the same one that doesn’t get in front of issues and just asks for forgiveness later. so he asks me to explain what we’re missing/the shortages. so i do, even though he has the email in front of him and can read it. after I explain it to him, he asks for a spreadsheet with the full details, again the full details are in the email that i know he read because he wouldn’t have called me if he didn’t read it. like there was no point in that when I already gave you all the information in written and verbal form. he then tells me he’s going to call the customer and fix the problem. guess who never called the customer and fixed the problem? him. guess who did fix the problem? me.
