Updated Inkloop AU OB!Kalim
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was, a lot. Of gold added. I wanted to give him a stronger vibe of danger and didn't really like the thorns in the old version, they were a pain to draw and don't really look that good. So now he has claws. And I am never drawing that stupid flame again. It is now banned from Inkloop.
The markings are meant to represent the sun and the waves in the ocean. The shoes are supposed to look like a bellerina's.
Previous design:
Tumblr media
I liked a lot of aspects of it, but now it looks kind of... messy? the skirt-thing looks bland and the strings on his fingers don't make sense with what I have planned now for the AU.
And there wasn't enough gold. A big part of Kalim's character in this AU is related to his position and money and how they affect his life, so I decided to add a lot, especially to his hands and neck, made the headband bigger, tried to make it more eye-catching and heavier.
It's also a little too red. The new version has a nicer contrast while the old one looks kinda washed out.

I HAVE RETURNED
And I bring Twisted Wonderland brainrot.
Anyways, here's my version of OB!Kalim. It actually belongs to a very angsty AU I have in the works. The storyline is almost completed(in my head).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn't have patience to copy his tattoos...
I considered putting him in a harem outfit but I really wanted to show off his legs. I didn't use any references either, exept for a Kalim sprite for color-picking.
The thorns/spikes are supposed to represent a cactus, both because of the symbolisms of cactus flowers and because the first thing it reminds you of is a desert. The ink sun I think is kinda obvious.

[Inkloop] I understand. Making them suffer out of affection XD If the madness fluctuates, is the RTLC (except Yuu) affected as well? Canon OBs also get extra powers? Also damn, poor Jamil. A terrible case of wrong time, wrong place, wrong words. Looks like Kalim got 3 of the elements, I guess the only upside is that it's during winter break? But seeing those 3 OBs, the death toll must be immense and those loops probably can't be salvaged anymore
The magic causing the loops to reset and what is causing the overblots are different. In fact, the loops are to the RTLC's advantage, because avoiding deaths during OBs is near impossible in this AU. They are mostly protected from the madness but it can creep in along with blot.
They do get extra powers. Azul is about half the size of Giant Ursula, Jamil has poison and his magic is boosted by A Lot, plus some horrifying shapeshifting process that can give him a snake tail, and have you ever whatched The Lion Guard? You know the Super Roar given only to the leader? Leona has it. I don't know about the rest yet.
Yeah, poor Jamil, especially since Kalim's OB is extremelly focused on him. It was originally going to be a desperate suicide attempt because in previous versions the resets couldn't bring back someone who died from their own OB, because I used to not like Grim so I decided to kill him off. But now he's just angry and lashing out, which is especially bad because now he's fully consumed by the madness and now it's basically a Jamil-centric torture-themed whumpfest. Like, I cannot stress enough just how unhinged OB!Kalim is and that Jamil is actually getting tortured here.
It gets even worse considering he has no idea why this is happening. From Jamil's perspective the oblivious but well meaning dumbass that has basically worshipped him for as long as they knew each other has suddently decided he is the scum of the earth and keeps forcing him to play mancala and threatening to cut one of his fingers off everytime Jamil loses (and he was not bluffing).
This AU may be focused on the RTLC but everyone else suffers just as much. They just forget.

Oooo your twst AU sounds incredibly angsty. I don't mind some spoilers/details ^^ If 1-2 people from each dorm gets added to the loop, this means not everyone in twst is going to be in the loops right? Who is it from each dorm? And what are the circumstances that caused everyone to OB? If that's too many characters, how did Kalim end up overblotting and how did that, if it did, get resolved? This AU sounds interesting so you can share anything you like ^^
Spolers (and violence) below the cut:
Right off the bat, Yuu, Grim and Deuce are the firsts to experience a reset. Basically, the stuff in the Dwarf's Mine goes south quick and Deuce gets a pickaxe to the head only to get added to the Remembers The Loops Club and wake up in the coffin he should have been asleep in until the entrance cerimony.
Everyone is too in denial and confused to really do much about what happened, so everything in the second loop happens pretty much the same(though Deuce is a lot quieter) until Riddle OBs and decapitates Ace.
Ace gets added to the RTLC, and they all wake up back in the coffins. But instead of quietly disassociating like Deuce did, he PANICS, banging on the coffin and begging, screaming to be let out, that he's not dead, until Grim blasts it open. Deuce ends up calling out for Ace, so he gets freed too, and that's pretty much how they find out about the loops.
After that, in order, Ruggie is added after his entire right side gets desintegrated by Leona, Floyd is crushed under rubble after Azul brought the entire Monstro Lounge down on their heads, Kalim got straight up choked to death by Jamil's bare hands, Epel breathed in too much poison, Idia showed he would rather tear out his own intestines than ever hurt his brother, and Sebek burned to death before he could realize Malleus was not the one in control anymore.
I don't really have everyone's OBs figured out, but there is someone pulling the strings to make them happen regardless of how stable their mental states are. Blot is pretty effective at messing with your mind after all.
Idia OB'd before joining the RTLC, Yuu and Grim don't OB because plot reasons.
Ruggie was the first. Someone was messing with his food, he had not eaten in days, and Leona was making increasingly unreasonable demands. Not to mention the loops and the whole dying over and over thing. During a confrontation with the lion, the stress and hunger became too much.
Floyd was second. He was used to always be able to trust Jade and Azul, but nowadays they barely acted like themselves. He couldn't trust them, but he didn't want them to leave. But the dead couldn't hurt him, and the dead couldn't leave.
Then it was Epel. Vil had been getting more and more controlling and condescending with each reset, becoming downright abusive at some point, and Epel reached his limit. Though maybe he was right.
I don't really know how to articulate the process of how Sebek OB'd but imagine you spent your entire life worshipping some guy and then he goes on a murder spree on your school and burns you and your family alive. Yeah.
Ace and Deuce OB'd together, though Deuce is just along for the ride. Remember how in the Heartslabyul chapter, after Trey spilled Riddle's Tragic Backstory, Ace immediately started blaming him for never correcting Riddle's worldwiew? How his entire opinion on it was that, "okay, those are some horrible circumstances, but that doesn't excuse what you did or what you failed to do". Now put that thought process in a situation where every horrible thing done against you or your loved ones is being constantly erased, forgotten by everyone but the victims, where you have to forgive atrocities over and over again because nothing even happened yet. That boy is going feral.
Kalim was the last to OB. Jamil had started trying to kill him every few loops. Not always, not in any noticeable pattern, but often enough that the last shreds of his trust were burned into ash. He could not eat without fear it was poisoned. He started sleeping underneath the bed, arranging pillows to make it look like he was underneath the covers, scared of being stabbed in his sleep again. He would not look Jamil in the eye. Over time, he became numb. Ironically, his tipping point was not a gesture of hate, but one of care. He already accepted he was hated. He knew he could never trust him. Why was Jamil saying otherwise? Did he want him to drop his guard again? Friends??? They were friends?? Was this a game to him!?
Fine. Jamil wants him to go back to before? To that naive, trusting person he insisted in calling spoiled and unreasonable, to the lovesick boy who would willingly jump off a bridge if only it would make his beloved best friend happy?
Kalim will show him just how unreasonable he can be.

Hello! I saw your art of overblot kalim and I'm quite curious about that AU. What is it about?
It. Is actually a very, VERY long story.
The basic rundown is that 1 or 2 people from every dorm get stuck in a time loop, starting from when Yuu first wakes up and restarting when either someone gets added to the loop or more than half the people in the loop dies.
Everyone in NRC overblots at some point. Kalim just takes a while longer.
Now, I'm planning on the AU being horror/mystery focused, because well, nobody really knows what is going on, everyone is freaking out, and the overblots are a lot more deadly and horrifying than in canon. I might write a fanfic, but I can't promise anything.
I can give some spoilers/details if you're interested.

The Inkloop AU is both DDDNEangst and crack because I decided that every. Single. Event. Is canon to this AU. The fairy gala. Camp Vargas. THE TSUMS.
Why?
Because at some point I decided to make Rollo relevant.
So yeah Idia is still getting corpse-bride'ed.

[Inkloop] Oh damn, I'm glad this has a happy ending but everyone is going to need so much therapy. Are those in the RTLC aware of each other or do some of them think they are alone? The loops seem to be affecting even those who don't remember? Kalim being the last makes sense with his childhood but I'm surprised Jamil would ever claim that which def makes me wonder what the heck happened before that. Which OBs are the most dangerous (other than Malleus, which I think is a given XD)?
As a rule, I cannot handle either Major Character Death or sad endings. I want my blorbos to suffer eleven levels of hell but I will cry if it turns out it was all for nothing. It will be rough and very gory, but they'll get through this.
Heavy spoilers and violence under the cut:
At first they think they are alone. There is a pretty obvious tell for when someone is added to the RTLC, and Yuu figured it out after Ruggie's death. But anyone newly added has no reason to suspect they aren't alone until the rest of the RTLC goes up to them and tells them what is going on.
Basically, the blot doesn't fully go away, even if they don't overblot early. It's less of a "Hey, you're about to OB, stop it" and more of a creeping madness that fluctuates between loops, but slowly gets worse. One loop Leona is being his usual pre-OB self, the next he doesn't even bother with his dorm as a whole, the next he actually mauls someone for speaking against him, the next he's just a tad more intense than usual, and on it goes.
This fluctuation is actually the reason why Kalim OB'd. At that point, Kalim had suffered to hell and back, and Jamil's madness was at such a low point that he was actually really really worried about him. Their relationship is Complicated but after Mr. Smiles And Sunshine did a complete 180 in basically everything of course he got worried. The "We're friends" line was supposed to calm him down, and it backfired. Hard.
As for the most dangerous OBs, Kalim, Adeuce, and lastly Ruggie.
Kalim because at this point he's been bottling it for for his whole ass life, got murdered by the person he trusted and loved the most, and overall just gave up on caring until Jamil accidentally stepped on a landmine connected to a nuke and opened up the reinforced iron gates containing all of his years-long repressed rage, unleashing a biblical-tier flood of melt-your-skin boiling rain upon all of Scarabia right in the middle of winter break. Also I gave all the OBs extra powers because why not. So he's also got control over a bunch of very thorny, very poisonous plants growing all over the dorm. And inside people. Also a lot of things are on fire.
Adeuce because their OB gave them Wonderland Powers, more especifically the ability to bend space itself and alter sizes, so everyone in NRC is basically stuck in a ever changing maze and sometimes get less than 7 inches tall, witch is a very bad thing when you are 1. Stuck with a lot of normal-sized, panicking people who are not paying attention where they're stepping and 2. Being actively hunted.
Ruggie has 3 Phantoms. Big ones. He is also going on a canniballistic spree and can now control dead bodies. You can probably see why this is bad.

The AUs currently spinning in my head like a microwave
No idea if I'll ever write them.
Every one of them has a happy ending, but the road to it will be hell on earth because i like angst :D
TWST
Inkloop: Horror/mystery focused. 10 NRC students are stuck in a time loop, unable to stop the others from overblotting, and questioning whenever remembering is a blessing or a curse. But they will not stop trying. They will have their happy ending. They don't care how many more times they have to die for it. (TWs: gore, temporary character death, gaslighting, betrayal, body horror, possession, it is overall my angstiest AU because it lets me go ham without fear of permanently killing off a character so be warned)(there is also a lot of crack because the game itself has a lot of crack-ish moments and all the events happen at some point during the loops, so one moment it's pure angst and then sentient plush toy doppelgangers start falling from the sky) (Rollo becomes important at some point)
TITWT(This Is The Worst Timeline): Yuu does not get Isekai'd. This has a lot worse consequences than you would expect. Luckily, every student that would have overblotted in another reality gets the chance to see for themselves what will happen if they continue down their current paths via good old time travel shanneningans. Spoiler alert, they will need So Much Therapy. (Psychological horror, probably)
PokeIsekai: Yuu comes from the Pokemon world. Yeah. Not new. But this time the NRC students get air dropped through an ultra-wormhole in their world instead. In different regions. And I mean air dropped. From pretty high up. Someone got a concussion. And- WHAT DO YOU MEAN KALIM LANDED ON HISUI!? (overall pretty fluffy. Kinda. The pokeworld doesn't eat meat/fish so Savannaclaw+Octavinelle aren't doing so well, but Scarabia is currently separated by a couple hundred years and Kalim is deep in a survival horror setting because I could not resist abusing the hell out of the Zoroarks' angst potential and also gave him amnesia)
TwistedKingdoms: Kingdom Hearts crossover but without KH characters. Mostly just the setup. Each dorm is a different world with a "princess" of the heart, the teachers are the overworked remaining Keyblade wielders, and it's a mad dash to keep the worlds from falling into darkness one after the other. Heartslabyul has already been lost. (No one dies! ...Permanently.)
BlotPoisoned: A new magic-based poison has been created, known for having no known antidote and its slow but lethal effects. Unfortunately, Kalim and Jamil get firsthand experience with it, and now Kalim must find a cure before its too late. (has themes of suicide, murder, mild consensual human experimentation and Jamil is in a coma for half the story) Has a bunch of OCs.
BNHA
Devil's Gaze: OC reincarnated as a newborn Aizawa Shouta. They are not Eraserhead. She is someone else. But he can't afford not to play his role. That doesn't mean they have to do things his way. (angst and fluff focused. OC is going through the wringer before they graduate while still making the best of their new life, then things mellow out once they reach 20 and then canon starts and shit hits the fan)
QuirkSoup: (Nearly)Everyone has a different quirk. This changes a LOT of things.
MagiMadness: Madoka Magica inspired Magical Girls(and boys) AU. With a few changes because I'm weak for angst and gore but also can't handle killing anyone(permanently). (extremely gory, the main characters keep losing limbs on the regular)
MCSM
Mobapocalypse: The command block is damaged, and the Witherstorm is not the only disaster to happen that day. In fact, it is the lesser evil. Now everyone has been turned into a mob hybrid, and Jesse is the only one who has kept their sanity. But with every monster, wolf, fox and cat out for their blood, destroying the command block and ending this madness will be one hell of a challenge. (Survival horror, Jesse is being literally hunted for sport)
No.285: Jesse doesn't want to be a hero. Aiden is a mother hen. Lukas is a delinquent. Petra is a scaredy cat. They are not supposed to be this way, but the story will play out still. He will make sure of it. (mystery, kinda. Might count as psychological horror) (TW: has themes of suicide)
MAD(Mutually Assured Destruction): Aiden and Jesse(pre-Endercon) Time Travel to the (canon divergent) future, where Aiden is the tyrant of the Blaze Empire and Jesse is the leader of the resistance against him. Eventually becomes canon divergence. (does it count as major character death if its a future version of your very much alive friend?)
InkyMystery
Inky Secret: This body is not his(why does it feel like it is), he does not know how the story ends(oh god stars why did he have to be a dish of all the magic races), and the existence of the Labyrinth keeps his mouth shut(he does not remember his own name, his old face, his life), but cuss it if he's not gonna try his best to help. (Classic transmigration story) (I gave the OC such an overpowered talent and then gave them self worth issues to balance it out)
KingdomHearts
BTDO(Below The Darkest Ocean): The realm of darkness has actual worlds instead of just being a Danger Beach. They're just under the ocean(and based in games instead of disney movies with 1 exeption Aka TOH) (actually, animes get included as long as they're game-based. Ex, YuGiOh). Sora learns this the hard way after waking up in TWST with amnesia post-KH3.
PrincessRiku: Sorikai RoleSwap AU where Riku is the Princess, Kairi is the Hero and Sora is the Villain. I don't think I've ever seen someone switch their roles like this, and I find the concept interesting.
YuGiOh
MagiCards: Magical Girl/Boy/Kid AU, crossover with a side of reincarnation, VRAINS is a thing, magic is real, of course, and one of my favorite tropes: your power doesn't define you. Even if said power was given to you by an eldritch evil card god.
Persona
DnS(P5, Demons+Swap): Mix of a Swap AU and Demon AU. Demons take the place of personas and Akechi is the Detective Prince, recently placed in Shibuya to work on the Calling Card Killer case, where evidence heavily suggests Demonic influence at play. P5-typical warnings cranked up to 11. Seriously, everything is worse.
Doorsverse: Mementos is now dead in a ditch, the thieves got more members, and the entire story has been scrambled to hell and back. Has both elements and characters from P3, P4 and P5S(apparently P1&2 too?). Velvet Room? Gone. Yaldabaoth? Never heard of him. Maruki? Got a reality check. Morgana? Has no idea what he's doing but he's sure doing it. (it eventually turned into a whole series rewrite)
ReincarnationProject: A collection of AUs centered around someone with Persona knowledge getting Isekai'd as one of the Persona characters and how that affects the story. Rules: Character must have died before the start of their main story, AKA Chie dies before P4 or Junpei dies before P3, and since their death was too early to count as part of the story itself, the universe makes up for lost potential by reviving the body and then placing another soul inside. Their knowledge affects their abilities, Arcana, Persona and how the Metaverse works around them. Slow, gradual but sure deaths have a chance of merging their souls and memories. Otherwise, the New Soul will not have the Old Soul's Arcana, memories or Persona without external cognitive influences.
Dollhouse: P5 Angstfest, NG+, Joker has a palace and things keep getting worse. Heavy gore, horror, repeated temporary character death and permanent Major Character Death. A bunch of horror tropes smashed together into a story and before I knew it someone died for real. Basically Inkloop but P5.
SilentWish: P5, TimeLoop, Joker has a Palace. (TWs: Gore, Horror, Existential Horror, Gaslighting, repeated temporary character death, his palace is so many levels of messed up)
TADP(The Amazing Digital Palace): The Amazing Digital Circus AU.
Persomon: Pokemon AU where Pokemon are a product of the Metaverse and exist in place of Personas.
Homestuck
HomeStranded: Dave accidentaly Fucks Up So Severely it crashed the game and the timeline and now its lagging and bugged like someone downloaded 200 mods and half contradict each other. Impossible things have become possible, timelines are merging, there's a second Alternia, and everyone's sessions have become borderline unwinable because everyone has the wrong classpect. ...Why is Lil Cal still here?
HomeStolen: 3 years after the disappearance of his and his friends' younger siblings, Kankri is starting to lose hope of ever seeing Karkat again, when a self-proclaimed AI chooses to request his help searching for a different group of missing children that might just be connected. AKA, roadtrip from hell to save the beta kids and trolls from a doomsday cult that drabbles on human experimentation, starring Kankri, Hal, and Damara.
Unheroic: Classic Hero/Vigilante/Villain AU, with Dave as the hero working to keep his siblings safe, Sollux as the vigilante who is tired of sitting still while people die, and Karkat as the villain with the highest hero kill count.
