I feel like I've complained about Tim's email situation in Gotham Knights before (edit: I have), but the truth of it is just so funny.
He's signed up for so many podcasts, video game streamers, and random news alerts; it's just a constant barrage of data going straight into his constantly whirring brain. Hell, he even floats the idea of the Batfamily having their own podcast as a way to correct misinformation about them (which Jason shoots down instantly), and it's made me realize something.
Timothy Drake would be a YouTuber.
In this universe specifically, Timothy Jackson Drake, the heir to Drake Industries and the foster son of the late Bruce Wayne would be a YouTuber.
Think about it. It'd be the perfect cover. Who would ever suspect that some 16-year-old nepo baby with a YouTube channel could ever be Red Robin? You'd have to be mad. I mean, look at him.
Red Robin just dropped out of literal thin air and garotted someone four times his size, and you expect anyone to believe that's the same kid who does 24-hour Minecraft charity streams and occasionally drops 6-hour video essays (his last one was on Lex Luthor's illegal bit mining operation on the moon)?
That kid?
You think that kid is Red Robin?
Ch'yah, okay, sure. And the Joker is funny 🤡.

sam is an anomaly in the hero community because he had a pretty normal and happy childhood, despite growing up in a rougher part of harlem. his father is still alive, and still preaching at the same church that he did throughout sam’s childhood. their relationship was strained throughout sam’s teenage years because of his father’s position, and because he started to discover that he was bisexual, which his father didn’t approve of initially. they’re on better terms now, but sam still isn’t fond of spending long periods of time with his father—he prefers to hang out with his siblings.
MOTHER’S STATUS + RELATIONSHIP :
darlene wilson + alive
sam was always closer to his mother than he was to his father—she didn’t seem like such a massive and distant figure with other priorities. she was a strong figure in his life and responsible for the practical aspects of his upbringing—she constantly reminds him that he has things that are important to him outside of his duties as the falcon, and helps him not to lose himself in all of the things that are swirling around him at any given time. she was the first person he came out as bisexual to, and one of the only people to know about his relationship with riley—both of which she has always been supportive of. he visits home at least once a week because of her.
SIBLING STATUS + RELATIONSHIP :
sarah wilson-casper + alive
gideon wilson + alive
sam has always been closer to his siblings than he has been to his parents—they are the people that he thinks to go to with his problems, and they are a major source of happiness in his life. he tries to keep them out of his life as the falcon as much as he can due to a concern for their safety, but they are both aware of his identity and the things that surround that. he hasn’t told either of them about riley, but they are both aware that sam is bisexual and they are both pretty supportive (they had some apprehensions initially, due to their religious upbringing). he’s also a devoted uncle to his niece jody, and his nephew jim—particularly after sarah’s husband passed away.
LOYALTY / AFFILIATION : sam was loyal to the us military for a long time, but after riley’s death he began to lose faith in the institution entirely—a belief that’s only been compounded by the veteran’s he’s met in his line of work. the only real loyalty that he professes anymore is to steve rogers—he believes in steve, so much so that he’s followed steve underground.
PERSONALITY.
MBTI : entj “the commander”
HOBBIES : working out, playing video games, playing with his niece and nephew, reading, volunteering, watching trashy action movies
BAD HABITS : isolating, bouncing his leg, he does NOT have a verbal filter.
THREE POSITIVE TRAITS : loyal, honest, assertive
THREE NEGATIVE TRAITS : he’s not forgiving, he doesn’t take his own advice a lot of the time, he’s got no tolerance for people in positions of authority.
MORAL ALIGNMENT : neutral good
ASSOCIATIONS.
ONE SONG : up, up, and away + kid cudi
ONE QUOTE / PIECE OF ART : "untitled: i declare that there is no overlap here, that I am an entity emanating a new kind of light."--noor jaber
ONE FEAR : sam’s already lived through a lot of his worst fears—including losing riley. his worst fear now is losing the semblance of family and friends that he’s built for himself.
ONE STRENGTH : sam is the best person to have on your side—once he believes in you, he’s ride or die and the most loyal individual you could imagine. however, you have to work hard to get to that place with him.

'Healthy' teenager who took precautions died suddenly of Covid-19 | Foxton News
That decision can be the start of a 12-day journey that may finish in tragedy.
“I can not let you know how a superbly wholesome 16-year-old boy will be making his personal peanut butter sandwich late Wednesday night time, getting his personal tea out the fridge and head as much as mattress like some other teenager within the state or within the nation is doing. After which inside 24 hours is preventing for his life,” Daybreak mentioned.
Andre, an easygoing sophomore at Lawrence North Excessive Faculty, liked YouTube and knew the whole lot about video video games; for his birthday in April, he requested for a sport that wasn’t set to be launched till December, and his mother and father deliberate on getting it for him when it was launched. He additionally liked images and annoying his siblings and excelled at basketball and bowling.
Born prematurely at 25 weeks, he and twin sister Abby spent months within the hospital earlier than they have been introduced residence and later adopted by Daybreak and her husband, Johnny. Although Andre was identified with reasonable autism, his mother and father have been fierce advocates and he thrived with a optimistic angle and a smile on his face. “He at all times simply flew via,” mentioned Daybreak.
As a result of Daybreak is a nurse within the nursing residence at a unbroken care group, the household took greater than the usual precautions when the coronavirus began to unfold round the USA. After every shift, she’d take off her footwear on the door — the place Johnny would disinfect them — and she or he’d head upstairs to bathe. The household cleaned surfaces with disinfectant wipes, wore masks once they needed to go away the home and practiced social distancing as a lot as doable.
In actual fact, Andre was the one member of the family who didn’t go away the home in any respect. However the virus has confirmed to be a wily foe, circulating in some communities earlier than public well being officers realized it was there. It discovered susceptible folks like Andre Visitor regardless of all advisable precautions.
After Daybreak left for work that morning, Andre — usually self-sufficient — requested his dad for assist getting a drink. Odd. At 1:30 p.m., when Johnny went to test on Andre, the teenager mentioned he was drained, however, Johnny mentioned, “his speech was actually slurred. He may nonetheless perceive me and reply me.” A short while later, when Andre fell down within the toilet, Johnny referred to as his spouse.
By the point Daybreak received residence, Andre had misplaced the flexibility to grip objects, he had bother standing, his head and eyes have been rolling, he couldn’t maintain his physique weight up, and he appeared confused. She referred to as an ambulance, which rushed Andre to the closest emergency room, which transferred the critically in poor health teen to Riley Hospital for Kids.
Though Andre had no underlying medical situations, the very first thing medical doctors found was that he had developed Kind 1 diabetes — his blood sugar was a harmful 1,500 milligrams per deciliter, greater than 10 instances regular. Kind 1 diabetes ceaselessly involves gentle for the primary time within the setting of an an infection.
As a result of he had a fever and cough and was respiration exhausting, he was examined for Covid-19. Unfavorable. However the medical doctors have been having bother controlling the teenager’s blood sugar — normally pretty simple with an insulin infusion in a primary episode of diabetes. On the identical time, his temperature saved rising and his respiration deteriorated even with growing dietary supplements of oxygen. A second Covid take a look at got here again optimistic and he was moved to a Covid unit.
Johnny and Andre’s two sisters have been subsequently swabbed, they usually, too, have been optimistic, although they’d solely delicate fevers and fatigue. Daybreak, who was on the hospital with Andre, determined to not get examined as a result of, in response to Riley’s coverage, if she examined optimistic she wouldn’t be allowed again into the hospital till she examined detrimental twice.
A number of days later, Andre was on a ventilator, and medical doctors, making an attempt to grasp and deal with his rapidly altering sickness, even tried “proning” — putting him on his abdomen to enhance lung capability.
In his 12 days on the hospital, Andre skilled points along with his mind, coronary heart, lungs, kidneys and extra. “Every part that they might combat to attempt to right, the coronavirus would discover one thing else to assault,” mentioned Johnny. Although the workers had gotten the experimental drug remdesivir for Andre, his kidney and liver operate have been too poor to soundly administer it. A lot of Andre’s signs resembled what has since been dubbed multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children — a uncommon however extraordinarily critical Covid-associated immune response that was not described till mid-Could. Andre was by no means identified with the syndrome.
Nonetheless, his mom thought he’d survive. He was getting very good care, and his blood sugar was lastly at regular ranges — suggesting the worst of the an infection had handed. He was younger and had at all times been resilient.
On the morning of April 27, that hope rapidly evaporated. His blood sugar spiked. His arterial line started to clot, suggesting coagulation issues which were a trademark of the illness. He went into cardiac arrest and, regardless of chest compressions, succumbed.
Andre is among the many small variety of kids who’ve died of Covid-19 and Indiana’s first recorded sufferer underneath age 18.
“They have been great there,” Daybreak mentioned. “Each nurse and each physician. I can not complain. We simply did not get the outcomes that we needed.”
Regardless of stay-at-home restrictions, Andre’s loss of life resulted in an outpouring of assist from the group. Letters and playing cards arrived from academics recollecting their favourite encounters with the teenager.
Greater than 70 automobiles drove by the Company’ home to precise their condolences in a memorial organized by Lawrence Township — the place Andre attended college.
Marion County Northeast Particular Olympics retired Andre’s workforce basketball jersey — No. 54 — and despatched it to the household’s residence.
With this virus, “you might be caring for your group, as a lot as you are caring for your self. You haven’t any thought in the event you’re a service or in the event you’ve touched one thing that has it on there,” mentioned Daybreak.

Body Image
You might be thinking what the hell is this about. It’s pretty obvious I will have a pretty crap body image at the moment (that has actually been proven clinically – more on that later), but I want to discuss a bit more about it to give an honest account of this and how it’s impacted me. That inevitably means covering a bugbear of mine throughout this journey – clothes.
Clothes give us our sense of style; comfort and some people would even say identity. I think it’s more to do with the people wearing those clothes, personally, but I never really thought much about them. I had sports clothes for the sports I used to play - golf, tennis, basketball (true story), snowboard gear, gym gear. Summer clothes and winter clothes (let’s be honest practically the same thing in Scotland 😂) On those holidays though when it was actually hot, obviously I had bikinis and I also have a rash guard from surfing (I’m more of a warm weather holiday surfer). Going out clothes - they have definitely changed over the years 🤣🙈 (what even is going out?!) The size never really changed though, once I was a teenager, I was an 8, sometimes 6 and that’s where I stayed. When you get pregnant, it becomes about the clothes you no longer fit and you get more excited by buying maternity clothes and getting bigger. At the very end it’s not always ideal - my bump was so big maternity clothes didn’t even cover it and I was stuck wearing my husband’s rugby kit. Comfy but baggy 😂😂 I actually ended up in my husband’s rugby training top when I went into the hospital in labour. I bought maternity pjs that didn’t even fit after and ended up in size 12-14 top and (very) loose fitting trousers from Primark. Comfort is key in those early days!
I kept wearing maternity clothes in those early weeks. We had some pretty nice weather in May after Cailean was born in April, and I struggled to find clothes for the weather that fit - I had a winter pregnancy so this had never been considered. The holiday we went on when we literally just found out I was pregnant, I didn’t fit a lot of the new clothes I bought by the end of the 10 days, and I never posted any pictures in swimwear for fear of people noticing too early that I was pregnant.
The months went by postpartum, and there I was, still wearing maternity clothes because of my diastasis. I gave away clothes to my sister I knew I would never wear again, but there were some I just couldn’t bring myself to get rid of. I had it in my head, I will fit these again. When I eventually decided to do a clear out, I couldn’t bring myself to give those particular clothes to my sister. It would have pained and hurt me to see her wear them, when they were the ones I wanted to be wearing. I ended up putting them in a charity bag and got rid of it before I changed my mind. I wear bigger jumpers bought when I was pregnant, or my maternity tops to hide the bump so no one asks me if I’m pregnant for the 50th time.
Everyone knows the struggles I have had with jeans. The trend these days is very much geared to high-waisted jeans, or Mum jeans which sit just too awkwardly to fit me. Low rise seem to have all but disappeared and these are literally the only ones that fit me. So, as I mentioned, I probably spend about 80% of my time in sports gear, with 20% in maternity jeans.
Then it all changed. The progress picture made me realise that there was a chance, that some of my own clothes pre-pregnancy might actually fit. After some rare Scottish sun that was actually warm – I looked in my shorts drawer and was going to either go for sports shorts, or my comfy PINK ones with the elasticated waistband. I glanced at my denim shorts thinking ‘there’s no way…’ Bear in mind, should it go ahead, I go on holiday in 4 weeks’ time, I had to know. I put them on and was shocked when they buttoned up and comfortably so. I tried the next pair of denim shorts – same again. Part of me felt relieved, part of me was triumphant. The same with my high-waisted jeans that I posted about recently - maybe I won’t be so limited after all. They may seem like small wins, but to me, they’re massive.
One thing that continues to play on my mind is swimwear. I know what I used to look like wearing a bikini and that is bothering me. No offence, but Americans are hardly shy in coming forward – I can expect at least one comment I’m sure about being pregnant while I’m over there, if we go. There’s part of me that is defiant and stubborn (okay for those of you who know me, a big part) that just wants to say f*** it I’ll wear what I like, and I don’t care. The other part of me is ridiculously insecure. I’m not a particularly insecure person - I overthink, I worry but I’m pretty confident, and I have always been confident in my body. I know some people really struggle with that, but I just haven’t and that’s not me being arrogant, just honest. I look after myself but never had to worry too much about weight. I also have a ridiculously fast metabolism which probably doesn’t hurt. I considered getting maternity swimwear, but two things crossed my mind – one would maternity actually fit me? The bump isn’t the same shape as a baby bump so it might look weird; and two, I think I would be too damn hot – maternity swimwear is pretty generous in terms of coverage. There will come a time where I probably don’t wear a bikini when I’m older, but I didn’t envisage that being in my 30’s.
Grainne has been taking scores of my quality of life and body image periodically throughout this. She has also taken scores on emotional/mental well-being. You can imagine I didn’t think it was a good idea to re-do these after the week I’ve had. The reality is though, that’s probably when I should be doing it, because it is authentic and raw and part and parcel of this rollercoaster that needs to be recorded. This isn’t just baby weight I can’t shift, or any weight that I have put on myself. This is a condition that I have had little, to no control over. 100% women will have some degree of separation by the end of pregnancy. 1/3 of them will continue to have a separation that doesn’t resolve itself. I’ve been on the wrong side of a lot of statistics in my postpartum ‘recovery’ period (see earlier blog posts where I’m one of 3%) so I guess that trend is continuing.
All of this really comes down to body image. Will I be comfortable? Will I be happy enough? The honest answer? No. Doesn’t really matter what I wear - I’ve said it many times before, but this is not going to change until it’s fixed. My physios know that. They may see the difference and tell me it’s visible. My family and friends might tell me I look great, but I am not where I want to be. Even when I am, I will bear a scar but I’m totally okay with that. I don’t actually have any stretch marks from this pregnancy, so if a scar is the price I pay to be back to where I would have been but for the diastasis, then so be it. My physios all think I can still make some aesthetic gains over the next few months. I’m certainly working bloody hard enough that I’d like to think so, but maybe the ‘wow’ moment has passed – who knows.
I shared a story the other night that my husband had commented on it. He spent a long time in his previous career doing strength and conditioning and maintaining a high level of physical fitness at all times. He has qualifications in strength and conditioning, so he knows enough about it to be able to comment. He’s also seen enough physios in life to understand muscles. We both certainly know enough about diastasis now that we’re 13 months into this journey. He told me that but for the bump, the work I have put in probably would mean that normally, I would definitely be showing visible abs, or at the very least, would look very toned. It’s ironic that I am putting in more work into my fitness than I ever have in my life, and the reality is, to the untrained eye, it can go completely unnoticed. There are a lot of people who know me will know I’m pretty competitive – and when I say pretty, I really mean very. I’m not a sore loser – there is a difference, but if you challenge me, it’s game on as far as I’m concerned. My physios are very quickly learning this (!) and I have only had myself to compete against in this. I’ve been making the mistake of throwing down challenges out in the open and particularly to my physios, so the expectations are now there, and I have to deliver. So, I’m throwing it out there – life with what eventually will be two kids will be crazy. Surgery will be painful and will require time to heal. Rehab will start slowly again – twice - before I can get back to the point I am now. However, I will, come hell or high water, put in the same work, commitment and effort that I am now, and I’ll be damned if isn’t noticeable at the end of this. Game on!

COULD VC SUCKAGE
What a hack! To be jaded you have to do is get eight or ten lines in the right place, and then try to pry apart the cracks and see what's underneath. Good PR firms use the same strategy: they give reporters stories that are true. Mediocre hires hurt you twice: first by the injury itself, and second by taking up your time afterward thinking about it. What if no one happens to have gotten in trouble for saying that 2 2 is 5, or that we'd meet them again. On questions of design, I ask myself: how much would I pay for this if I found it at a garage sale, dirty and frameless, and with it growth. You need to be able to carry it off. If you're super good at sounding like you know what you're talking about, you can ask yourself what would I tell my own kids? Like all illicit connections, the connection between wealth and power? There are no shops on the island and you won't be able to test in an hour, then you have the prospect of starting a startup is just a byproduct. They always do. Ok, it may be that reducing investors' appetite for risk.
Then I'm worried. Dartmouth, the University of Vermont, Amherst, and University College, London taught English literature in the 1820s. If normal food is so bad for us, why is it so common? I wrote a couple years ago I advised graduating seniors to work for large organizations, and the useful half is the payload. He always seems to land on his feet. Every startup has reasons both to invest and not to invest. A physicist friend recently told me half his department was on Prozac.
But they aren't all equivalent, not by a long shot. Well, that is all too obvious. They seemed to have lost their virginity at an average of about 14 and by college had tried more drugs than I'd even heard of. Which makes it easier to remember that Dublin was also established by Vikings in the 840s. But that's not the problem you're trying to remember as you start down the hill out of control. Kids are the ones who wake up during the operation. This quality may be redundant though; it may be reasonable to run with it. A button that looks like it will make a machine stop should make it stop, not speed up. As soon as we heard they'd been supporting themselves by selling Obama and McCain branded breakfast cereal, they were ideas reasonable people could believe.
And so you can't begin with a statement, but with a slow sales cycle. PR coup was a two-part one. More often than not I have to think you know how to read them, it's now been verified experimentally. A couple weeks ago I finally figured it out. It seems to be a smooth presenter if you understand something well and tell the truth about sex and drugs, it would be easier to justify later if it failed. Telling a child they have a particular ethnic or religious identity is one of the first 10 employees you'll have almost as much freedom as the founders. I know because I've seen it burn off. Most struggles, whatever they're really about, will be cast as struggles between competing ideas. I'm going to try to figure out exactly what happened inside the motel—exactly what was killing all the potential startups. Mistake number four. The answer, of course, quite a lot of course. Now this sort of test.
Professors nowadays seem to have been increasing: our ability is tested in an ever wider range of situations. I'd modify that now. But it's not just the user who's human. The reasons parents don't want their teenage kids having sex. How can we find these too? If there is such a great idea, why hasn't someone else already done it? Human knowledge seems to grow fractally. Ideally the answer is that he got in trouble for repeating Copernicus's ideas. Well, I'll tell you why that wouldn't work. I'm worried.
But the foundation of convincing investors is to make a startup hub, unexpected good things will probably happen to you, especially if no one else at the time from having it all happening live, right in front of kids. Silicon Valley already knew it was a relief just to realize it might be a rich market, but with a question. How many fifteenth century Milanese artists can you name? Symmetry is unfashionable in some fields now, in reaction to excesses in the past, this rule of thumb from now on that if people don't think you're weird, you're living badly. But there are reasons to believe that at some point messed up my nice clear writing. Instead of obliterating your idiosyncrasies in an effort to make yourself a neutral vessel for the truth, as I think lawyers would be the default. In the last 20 years, grown into a monstrosity. Yes and no. It's certainly not a bad lie to tell, to give a baby the impression the short story, which I've since learned had quite a brief life, roughly coincident with the peak of magazine publishing. If a kid asked who won the World Series in 1982 or what the atomic weight of carbon was, you could just show a randomly truncated slice of life, and that may hamper you from thinking improper thoughts. Others seem more innocent; it depends how badly adults lie to maintain their power, and what ideas would they like to suppress?
Thanks to Bob Frankston, Qasar Younis, Ben Horowitz, Jackie McDonough, Robert Morris, Zak Stone, Jessica Livingston, and Paul Buchheit for putting up with me.

Fox Information Energy Rankings: 11 races shift left
What key midterm races point out concerning the steadiness of energy in Congress; evaluation from Colin Reed, senior vp of Definers Public Affairs, and Dave Brown, Democratic strategist.
**Need FOX Information Halftime Report in your inbox daily? Enroll right here.**
On the roster: A brand new residence for Home Energy Rankings – I’ll Inform You What: Who needs to speak about Omarosa? – Arpaio units sights on Ward, opening approach for McSally – Ellison takes home abuse claims into common – Wonderful, Jessie, keep up there
A NEW HOME FOR HOUSE POWER RANKINGS These items solely are likely to turn out to be clear in hindsight, however our guess is that if Republicans do certainly lose the Home of Representatives in November’s midterm elections we are going to look again on final week as a pivotal second.
Three-term Rep. Chris Collins, a Republican who represents suburban Buffalo, turned himself in to authorities for arrest on corruption expenses. In an already sad election cycle for Republicans, a outstanding Home member intently aligned with the Republican president dealing with expenses of self-dealing and insider buying and selling is about as dangerous because it will get.
We had been reminded of the incident the final time Republicans confronted a local weather like this in 2006 when a prime GOP Home member bought caught making sexual advances on teenaged Home pages.
Mark Foley’s timing was even worse than Collins’. The Florida congressman’s lascivious messages got here to gentle on the finish of September, too late for Republicans to attempt to get previous. It was a loss of life knell.
The query for Republicans this yr is whether or not the time they’ve left will make a distinction.
A contemporary spherical of polling has confirmed what most race watchers have believed for a while. A survey from Quinnipiac College provides Democrats a 9-point benefit within the generic congressional poll, a end result in line with different latest polls from top-tier polling organizations.
As you consider these generic poll polls at all times do not forget that it’s not sufficient for Democrats to easily be forward. First, there’s the standard subject of voter frequency. Republicans have tended to barely outperform in polls like these whereas Democrats have tended to overlook the mark barely on the premise of turnout alone. Then there are some structural deficits that Democrats face. A few of that is gerrymandering, however most of it pertains to the geographical distribution of the 2 events.
Given that almost all rural voters are Republicans, the Purple Crew has a built-in benefit that 5 of the eight states with populations so small that they get just one at-large member of the Home are represented by Republicans. If Democrats used to boast a “blue wall” for presidential campaigns, altering political demographics have constructed a reasonably spectacular purple wall for the GOP within the Home.
Meaning Democrats want an enormous swing this yr to beat the present Republican majority. Is that 6 factors or eight factors? We’ll inform you after the election, however for now we simply keep in mind that the Blue Crew is taking part in with a handicap.
Democrats want to select up 24 seats to take the bulk and our present Fox Information Energy Rankings says there are 29 seats which might be pure toss ups, one other 26 that “Lean Republican” and 13 seats that “Lean Democrat.” That places 68 seats in play as of this writing, that means that if Democrats carry out solely modestly higher than they did in 2016, the Home is effectively inside their attain.
We acknowledge that that is rather a lot to maintain observe of, which is why we’re so comfortable to inform you that the third pillar of our Energy Rankings Parthenon is now in place. You’ve already been capable of maintain observe of race ranking modifications for the Senate and governorships in our midterm elections web page, and as of this afternoon – ta-da! – our Home rankings can be found on-line, too.
Will the Collins debacle find yourself as a turning level? Will the promised “Trump bump” materialize? Will Democrats have a wave or a washout? We’ve got lower than 12 weeks to search out out and we hope you’ll observe together with us. THE RULEBOOK: DEEP “They who’ve turned their consideration to the affairs of males, should have perceived that there are tides in them; tides very irregular of their period, power, and route, and rarely discovered to run twice precisely in the identical method or measure.” – John Jay, Federalist No. 64
TIME OUT: SWAMPY  Historical past: “On at the present time in 1780, American Lieutenant Colonel Francis Marion, the ‘Swamp Fox,’ and his irregular cavalry drive of 250 rout a celebration of Loyalists … at Port’s Ferry, South Carolina. In the meantime, Normal Horatio Gates’ males consumed half-baked bread, which sickened them in a single day and contributed to their disastrous efficiency on the Battle of Camden, additionally in South Carolina, the next day.
