She stares at the water, thinking about the bridge and that day. Daryl must’ve been thinking about it too. His gravelly voice was soft and gentle as he spoke his voice into the sound of the river running quietly, 

“I never stopped searchin’ for you..” 

Faith stares at the river until she processes what her uncle says. She looks at him with confused and grieving eyes. “What do you mean..?” She asks quietly, her voice already broken down from all that yelling and screaming at the bridge and arguing just after that. Daryl looks down at his boots as he tries to explain it to her. 

“I didn’t think you were gone. Not really. So I came out here. Looked everywhere. Every bend...” he taps his leg as he talks, clearly finding this difficult to talk about. Yet he was sharing it with her. “I never found your bodies..” he looks at her with sorrowful eyes. He looked so sad. Like he had a lot built up inside and was just getting some of it out now. She gives him her full attention as she listens intently. He never found their bodies because they had never died. And he didn’t know that. All this time... She felt a lump growing in her throat as she was getting emotional just hearing this.

“I checked every walker... every inch of it,” he says, looking out to the river. She feels her heart drop in heartache. It was so much for her to process and really understand what he must’ve felt while she was gone. “Didn’t think I’d ever see you again... not with a kid either..” he says, giving her a tiny hint of a smile.

Ezra came from a military family. Their father died in the line of duty so it left just them and their mother, who spent most of her days out on a ship in the navy. After their father's death, their mother became obsessive, even abusive at times towards them under the guide of 'keeping them safe'. In their late teens, before the apocalypse, this treatment led them into a rather abusive relationship with a man that ultimately left them with a child, a little boy that resembled them to a T. Once the apocalypse broke, they did everything in their power to keep their son alive, even leaving behind the man they were afraid of in order to keep the boy safe. However, a year into the apocalypse they lost him when their supplies was stolen and they left him alone to search a convient store, leaving him unprotected by accident. This event breaks them, spiraling into a deep depressive episode that if it hadn't been for Aaron finding them, they would have been dead. They spend most of the apocalypse in Alexandria, helping build up the community and its walls to keep others safe from those who wish to hurt them.

Already answered 12, so I'll just do 8. It's been a while since I watched/read these things, so my memory is a bit rusty :/

-That Evelyn & Caleb are all that interesting lol. They practically took over the fandom (/hyperbole) when those portraits of them were showed, but I've never once found them that fun to think about. I don't know what it is that's grabbing other people and not me, but I just have zero thoughts about these people.

At least Belos is a fun character, so some fanart exploring him and Caleb's relationship is enjoyable, but other than his relation to Belos, IDC about Caleb. I care about Evelyn even less, and never cared about her being a Clawthorne either.

We got like, 2 minutes max of screentime of these guys, and 90% of it is just photos of them. We didn't even get to know them as characters. There's barely anything to talk about with them

-I don't think everyone is wrong about this (so doesn't really belong on this question?), but that Amity &/or Hunter are autistic. I don't necessarily disagree with this opinion, I just never picked up on that myself. I've seen people call them "autism coded" and I'm like "...where?" If I went looking for posts abt it, I'm sure I could get on board w/ it though

That Ezra Squall is in any way good or redeemable. This is a divisive opinion in the fandom itself, so not "everyone", but as it stands in the series, I am nottt on board with this yet. If that's the direction Jess wants to take the story, I trust her to do a good job with it, but from what we've been presented of Ezra so far, I don't think he is good nor will become good.

I found the split between "Ezra the boy" and "Ezra the monster" and if those lines blur pretty fun to read, and I'm curious to find out if he has any motivations for the massacre (or any of the other stuff he did) besides power hunger. If it turns out he's just been unfairly villianized, manipulated, or just misunderstood, it'd have to be really well written or I'd be disappointed lol. I simply find him more fun as a villian

Prolly weird to bring this up out of nowhere, since I don't think I've ever spoken about it on Tumblr, but I am indeed a TWD fan.

Shane is a bitch ass motherfucker and not remotely fun to watch. Every second he's on screen he's nothing but a pain in the ass. I love Rick, so whenever he and Rick are arguing (which is constantly), I just want him to SHUTTT UPPPPPP. He keeps wanting to control the group in ways I hated, and is a bit too content with killing people to meet the ends. (For example, when he shoots a guy he's out on a supply run with JUST so the zombies will stop and eat him and let Shane run away?? He could'a just shot them when he'd gotten back on the bus, but nah, he had to kill his companion and wasn't even honest about it to the rest of the group.)

Some people say Rick is like this too, but he doesn't truly get murderous until several seasons of being the leader of a survivor group in a zombie apocalypse. And whenever he gets content with killing people, it's not framed as a good thing, it's a consequence of the stress, hurt, and lack of trust that builds up in the apocalypse. Rick is at his best when he's extending a hand to other survivors. Shane didn't even make it past S2 before being okay with unnecessary killing.

(Do note that sometimes, Rick killing people is a good thing. For example, when a group of men attacked the fam and one man attempted to rape Rick's son, to which he proceeded to rip out one man's throat with his teeth. That was quite cool of him.)

People who like Shane tend to also be unfairly judgemental of Lori, in my experience. Either because she started a relationship with him while being married or because she later wanted to end that relationship.

She started a relationship with him because she believed her husband was dead. Shane was even the one who told her he was. In her eyes, she was single again. It's fine of her to have sex with any other man at this point, and to slowly start viewing him as family, even letting him get close to her son.

When her thought-to-be-dead husband waltzes up to the survivor group, very much alive, though, it's reasonable she would want to be in a relationship with her husband again. It is also reasonable that she doesn't want her apocalypse fling to be a father figure to her son when his actual father turned out to be alive. She isn't unreasonable for ending the relationship with Shane, nor for not wanting him to act as Carl's father anymore. Shane doesn't have any right to act as the father to her son.

There may be other reasons to criticise her (she died pretty early on and I haven't seen TWD in a while so IDK) but if anyone criticizes her for either of these reasons they r wrong <3

Conclusion: Shane was an infuriating character and I'm glad he died

my take on the episode 11x10 of twd:

!!! heavy spoilers for the latest episode of the walking dead !!!

i took a while to get around to watching this episode because tbh the preview didn’t interest me too much. overall i’m not a big fan of the type of twd episodes that purely revolve around a perfect community and involve barely any walkers or conflict, like at the start of alexandria. this episode did pleasantly surprise me though.

as i said last time, my rants are in zero order so be prepared.

judith has taken my heart once again, her introducing herself as jude instead of judith has me thinking that we’re seeing a parallel to when the group arrived at alexandria which i’ll get into more later. but that first scene with jude, rj, and daryl in the “haunted house” i think really hints towards the whole idea that the commonwealth as a whole are so disconnected from what’s out there in a negative way. it also stuck out to me that judith and rj weren’t scared like normal kids which imo we might see change later as to convey they are softening the longer they stay in the commonwealth.

still on that scene, robert kirkman has confirmed that zombie media never existed in twd universe, it makes me think about the fact that the haunted house thing means they’re mocking the apocalypse that they’re living in which seems really weird and messed up to me.

jerry makes me so happy, he’s such a comic relief, his family is so cute too. love his relationship with zeke too, it’s so pure. 

daryl and rosita being on a team makes so much sense. it might have been subtle in the past but they’ve always gotten along morally and i think that relationship will be seen a lot more this season. i really think the downfall of the commonwealth will be on the hands of rosita, daryl, carol, and mercer.

zeke is scaring me, the way he’s giving away all his things and having moments with the people he loves can only make me think that he’s going to commit suicide knowing he can’t get the surgery on time, going out on his own terms. i think that plot line is necessary for carol’s character development with daryl and others too, as her plot atm seems to be majorly about saving zeke. correct me if i’m wrong, but i also recall him using past tense when telling ezra the happiness shiva’s leash gave him, which indicates he truly isn’t happy anymore.

seeing carol with those cookies was so awesome, once again a callback to alexandria and her whole housewife act which she seems to be doing again. i hope we see some more of her interacting with ppl from the commonwealth like tomi. carol’s back on her badass shit and i love that for her.

missing characters. maggie and hershel were pretty expected, but also people like lydia, aaron and gracie, that woman from kingdom, and others? those were a little unexpected. aaron not being in the commonwealth just about confirms my theory of aaron being on a conflicting side this season.

so off topic, but everyone was talking about daryl in the cw military armour in the trailer, but ohmygod i was not prepared to see rosita in it.

also i hate sebastian my god, can’t stand him.

there were so many parallels to the one alexandria indrouction ep this episode, the party, settling in to a new environment. i think jude getting that vinyl and being surprised by it was a callback to scenes like rick’s haircut. i really think if carl were still around for the cw he would have a reaction similar to daryl’s to alexandria.

the idea of classism in the cw is really interesting, especially after tomi and carol’s scene. there was a strong point in that scene, zeke being 147th on the list is quite unlikely in terms of severity, how many people can be dealing with a terminal illness there? not many. therefore that means the list must be based off class instead, which can go for a lot of things in the cw. i’m interested to see how this plays out later.
