Chicken and shiitake mushrooms over rice, sauce is homemade chicken broth, white wine, and cream… and it came out absolutely to die for, if I do say so myself. Then we have honey goat cheese on english toast, sautéed broccoli rabe and tomatoes on 8-grain seed toast, and chickpea salad courtesy of the cafe downtown. Is my broccoli rabe a little overdone? Yeah, maybe, but I do like it a bit crispy and salty like that. Tastes extra good with the tomatoes.

I was *almost* 100% sure a New Caledonian gecko (crestie/garg/leachie) would be the best fit for me as a first reptile, until I realized I do a lot of things and most likely wouldn’t be able to keep up with the humidity/misting twice a day so i’m thinking corn snake, leopard gecko, and fire skink may me my best second options so far?

#reptiblr #not sure if the one guy i saw breeding fire skinks is selling yet tho #the reptile hobby here is pretty small and the available species are very limited #i'd love a corn snake but my sister is scared it could escape and go eat her hamster #but it'd have to get through so many barriers and the hamster is in a tub so it perhaps wouldn't happen? #i'm also worried a corn snake will grow too large and i won't be able to house it #like i was thinking of getting a 150 x 60 x 60cm enclosure for it #but what if it grows too long for that #that's the limit of horizontal space i can offer #leopard geckos and fire skinks run into the same problem of me needing to establish feeder insect colonies for them #or at the very least a dubia roach colony #maybe a beardie?? #but beardies need salads with fresh veggies when they're adults... idk if i can afford that kind of thing #hww decisions decisions
