HIIIII IT’S HILDA!!! Long time no see! I know it came out like. Three months ago but the Unova pokemon evolutions episode was SO SO GOOD!! I’m so happy!!! That’s literally my canon!!!! That’s me! And tepig!!!! And N and I both had the right dragons! Wow!! I am STILL so completely giddy about it! It felt so good to be acknowledged as the protag after pokemas did me so dirty! Even ignoring kin stuff, I really enjoyed the episode in general! I got so nostalgic when they recreated the opening scene of the bw games!! And there were a lot of really cool shots. SO much about it was just *chef’s kiss*. I’ve watched it like ten times lol!! -Trainer Hilda

Also I hope everyone’s been enjoying legends: arceus!!! I haven’t finished the postgame yet but I love everything I’ve see so far! I really like hisuian zorua and zoroark! I think it’s funny that they managed to make them even edgier lol. I wonder what N would have thought of them?? And I wonder what hilbert and cheren would have thought of hisuian samurott? Omg omg omg wait!!!! I FINALLY figured out the sixth pokemon on my team!!! Like five years after I confirmed Hilda, but, hey- better late than never! I knew that I had had emboar, reshiram, hydreigon, volcarona, and zorua, and had narrowed down the last one to either sawsbuck or frillish, but turns out it was BOTH!! N traded me his zorua for my sawsbuck!!! So up until the end of the events of black and white, my team was emboar, reshiram, hydreigon, volcarona, frillish, and sawsbuck, but then “post-game” I had zorua instead of sawsbuck! It was custom for trainers who were close to trade pokemon when they knew they were gonna be apart for a long time as a sort of promise to be reunited again someday! So that’s why we traded! Before I vanished for tow or more years, me and hilbert traded our frillish too!! Ok jeez this got long, sorry, but!!!!!! I’m just so happy I finally finally remembered!!!!!!!! -Trainer Hilda

Man, do I have complicated feelings about the whole champion thing. Like, I worked SO hard to get there, and it was something that I had wanted my whole life, but. MAN did it fuck me up. Obviously the circumstances around my win weren’t Great to begin with, and I think I would’ve liked it all a lot more had I also not had to be the Legendary Hero Who Saved All Of Unova, but still. And I mean honestly I’m not even resentful of the hero thing, like I LIKED being able to brag about being the chosen one and obviously I love reshiram with my whole heart, but it was just too much at once ya know? Maybe like six months into my time as champ I lowkey highkey had an exestential breakdown and just had to run away from everyone and everything. Which was obviously irresponsible but I mean. Cut me some slack, I was like 16 or 17!

Being champ wasnt always bad, though- I got to meet and battle a lot of cool people!! Any time a new champion was crowned there would be this big international gala where all the current and former champs of every region (plus some other high profile people) would gather to celebrate the newbie and to have a bunch of exhibition matches, and honestly that weekend was one of the funnest of my life!! Plus I got to travel all of Unova, and I got to be all rich and famous and whatnot. So I mean, it wasn’t too bad! I don’t want to sound ungrateful! It just want a good fit for me at that time in my life. -Trainer Hilda

Pokemon masters did me dirty!!!! I’m not SURPRISED that they didn’t make me the canon protagonist (cause pokemon always ignores its girl protags and defaults to the boy protags for LITERALLY EVERYTHING), but they didn’t have to sideline me THAT bad!! This is pokemon generations all over again! Like, was I even THERE for the events of the main games?!?! They’re trying to tell me I barely even knew what team plasma WAS?? They coulda at least made it subtler, or done a half-assed dual-protag situation!! I hate being negative, but I’m just so disappointed >:(! Especially cause pokemas got so many other things right!!! -Trainer Hilda (pokemon)

(Also ps- just wanna clarify that other than all that, I really liked the N event, and I’m so so so so so glad he’s in pokemas!!!! It was pretty well done and made me cry twice lol! I just wish that me n hilly switched places and that I’d get to be the protag for once!)

Man am I glad I was one of the older protags! Dealing with the “holy shit I peaked at age 16” existential breakdown was bad enough! I cannot IMAGINE having to save the world, tame a god, and maintain a position as champion while being, like. Ten. You younger protags all have my sympathies!! -Trainer Hilda (PS- Seriously though, didn’t your regions have rules about that kind of stuff? In Unova we had to be at LEAST 16 before we were allowed to set out on Pokémon journeys and take the gym challenge!)

Me n Hilbert were twins in my canon and I miss him so much!! I miss his kindness and his patience and his quiet determination to make everything ok. I miss making him laugh- I remember exactly what his smile looked like! We were very different people, but we balanced out each other’s extremes so well that we meshed together perfectly. It’s so weird going from one half of a pair to being all alone without him in this life. Anyway not to be lame, but to any and all Hilberts out there: I love you, and I miss you, and I hope you’re doing ok!
