Views from the top of Guinigi Tower in Lucca Italy. Lucca is is an old fortified city dating back to the Etruscans in 3rd century BC. It's where where Julius Caesar, Pompey, and Crassus formed the First Triumvirate or Rome, but much of what is seen now is obviously dated more to the 1000-1400's. Building tall towers was a status symbol back in the Renaissance and Guinigi is known for it's hanging garden of tree on top of the tower. 🤔 Ani to największe, ani najstarsze miasto w Toskanii, ale zdecydowanie zaliczyć je można do najpiękniejszych, różnorodnych i godnych uwagi. Taka właśnie jest Lukka, którą wstyd się przyznać, pominęliśmy przy pierwszej wizycie w Toskanii, zafascynowani Florencją i Pizą. 🔹 Tymczasem Lukka to miasto, nad którym niegdyś królowało aż 200 wież. Miasto, które do dzisiaj toczy spór ⚔️ ze Sieną i Florencją o miano najpiękniejszego. Wąskie uliczki, klimatyczne kamienice, urokliwe zakamarki i wypełnione gwarem place to tylko niewielka część bogactwa miasta. Potężne, ciągnące się kilometrami miejskie mury, idealne na spacer, rzymski amfiteatr na którym powstał Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, dom Giacomo Pucciniego czy wreszcie mnogość niezwykłych obiektów sakralnych dowodzą, że Lukka pełna jest miejsc, które warto zobaczyć podczas niespiesznego spaceru jej ulicami.
