What's up with Mondo's parents?

We don't really get a look to his family, more about takemichi, Daiya, the gang... But never his parents.

His mother is mentioned, and she sounds nice, tbh, but what about Mondo's father?

I think he would be:

1. Type of toxic masculinity but does everything his wife says. Tho, his parents split up (he's SO son of divorce) and his father is now typical single father with weird house decoration while his mom is living her 20s again.

2. Narcissistic father, but, VERY. Obviously split up parents.

3. Went for cigarettes and never came back.

4. Wears a 'wife beater'. *Stares at you* it's, uh, yk.

Tell me your ideas of how he could be, maybe he's kind of man who just knows everything about Mondo, like, even things he doesn't. But thing like his sexuality or how he actually feels about something and Mondo's just staring at him like 🧍 "why didn't I heir that from you". Oh, and wears a "proud father" with a bisexual flag shirt.

Transmasc Manga Reccomendations

OK so I have a anime planet list of transmasc manga but since anime planet doesn't have every manga that features a transmasc in it, I'll be putting it here! This is specifically transmasc cuz A. I am transmasc and B. if I tried to name every manga with a transfem this post would be too long, if u want good resources on how to look for trans characters in manga I'd recommend checking the transgender character tag in baka updates manga!

The final chapter just came out so now's a good time to read it! It's sweet, not the best tbh (very simplistic and the story is kind of boring) but it's a wholesome slice of life

I (personally) don't like Boys run the Riot BUT it does the job! It's nice, the themes are a bit heavy handed and it makes some....shitty ass points but hey I'll take any representation !

Fire Punch is very good, if u haven't heard of it it's the first serialized manga by the Chainsaw Man guy ! It's better than Chainsaw Man imo but I have terrible taste and I think a trans person being in a story elevates it to god tier status LMAO but there's also a lot of heavy subject matter (if u couldn't tell from the TWs) so read with caution (but it's very good if u do choose to read it, it's my favorite manga)

Daiya No Ace Scenarios: Meeting at University

Kuramochi Youichi

You meet in the campus center while waiting for your food. They call the order and you're surprised when some random guy is practically running to the counter to pick up your order.

You speed up to meet him at the counter and give him a piece of your mind when you both check the number. It was actually his but ironically you both get the same order. He says you have great taste and invites you to sit with him. You talk about classes and turns out he's in one of your main Sociology lectures.

You both fall into a rhythm of grabbing your favorite meal together before heading to lecture. Occasionally, you attend his games and it isn't long until he speeds his way into your heart.

"I didn't know you were that fast, Cheetah." "Of course you did. I had to be faster than you to grab my food the first time we met right? Ahahaha!" "You know what?" *Chaos ensues*

Miyuki Kazuya

He is a peer tutor in your Statistics class. Miyuki learned the material early and it works well with his baseball talents.

Despite his snarky attitude, he's actually pretty helpful and takes the time to really explain the chapters breaking it down in a way you understand. Your convinced he's your saving grace (even though you would never tell him that, his head would get too big if you did).

At the end of the semester, you make him a nice thank you card with a gift card to a local coffee shop. You hand it to him after your final, thinking you won't see him again. But he finds you around campus and makes sure to thank you in his own way by proposing to redeem the gift card together.

"No I can't spend it with you! It's a gift for you." "Well since it's my gift, I can spend it how I want. And I want us to grab a coffee so stop complaining and let's go."

Chris Takigawa Yuu

You meet Chris in your Anatomy and Physiology class when you're paired together for a research project. After meeting up after class to discuss potential topics, you both discover you have a love of sports which makes it much easier to pick something sports related.

You put together a research project about the anatomy of different athletes based on their respective sports. It helped that Chris knew a lot of athletes since he played baseball.

It was great to study athletes from various sports and it was clear Chris was very thoughtful and diligent. He smiles at how personable you are with the athlete you interview and how you thank them with ideas that'll help them (recipes/workouts).

Needless to say, you both get an A for the paper and the class and decide to celebrate a job well done.

"I'm glad we were partners. You're really cool, Chris." "Thank you, that's very kind of you. Likewise. It would be great to see you at the next game. If you'd like, I can get you a ticket." "Already way ahead of you."

 ANIMAL HOUSE # 13 「Towaki Sea x Yuki Daiya」

"TAKARAZUKA Animal House" is a programme where Takarasiennes go to the cafe and introduce their beloved pets. # 13 features Flower Troupe Towaki Sea and Yuki Daiya, along with Daiya’s pet hamster Blan-chan! They have a talk, as they pick five cards of different topics! This episode, Hitoko (Towaki) picked a card on “Their impressions of each other” and they talked about different stories about them. Daiya later picked a card of “Her favourite movie of Blan-chan”. 

Note: This is a rough translation, it may have mistakes and may not be complete, please read it just for reference.

About the hamster:

Daiya: Hamster is Blan-chan or simplied Bu-chan (from the first character) because I got it when its "Paris in the Winter Fog” performance run and the stage was set in France and since [hamster] is pure white, "Blanc” is white in French, therefore "Blan".

Hitoko: I also have 2 cats at home. I thought over if I wanted a dog before, but now I think 2 cats are enough.

Daiya: I also wanted a dog before when I was in primary school but then I considered it may be a lot of work, to walk the dog and so on. But I have a parrot now also which can also repeat what I say!

Impressions of each other

(1) First impressions of each other

Hitoko: Daiya was my shinko role for “Haikara-san” but because that was cancelled, we didn’t get to talk much. But before that, it was one time when  passed by the elevator hall and saw Daiya practising alone [for “Masquerade Hotel”]. After knowing that it was "Flower Troupe’s Yuki Daiya" her first impression was: oh Daiya is great at dancing!

Daiya: I was a Snow Troupe fan before Hito-san transferred to Flower Troupe so I did go to see Snow Troupe shows...but when Hito-san transferred to Flower Troupe, I was happy cause at that time [in Decmber 2019], the “Olympia” team, the “Masquerade Hotel” team, even Snow Troupe [for “Once Upon a Time in America] were all practising in Takarazuka, so I was able to talk to Hito-san!  My first impression was: Hito-san was very charming, in terms of how she interacts with others and her vibe, I was just drawn to that charm!

(2) Nicknames Hitoko: Oh, right you started calling me Hito-san!

Daiya: Yes about that, actually since we were nearby there was a time where Hito-san and Seino-san were practising together... Hitoko: Oh, the Salome scene [in “Dance Olympia”]? Daiya: Yes, and we were just rehearsing on our own and we couldn’t talk to you because you guys are rehearsing, but I saw how you approached Seino-san and said, "Let’s get close and work well together" and I thought "Ah.... I want to speak to her soon...." and then later you told me "It’s ok for you to call me Hito-san" so I was very happy indeed, but sometimes still nervous to say it ... >< Hitoko: On the other hand, since everyone just calls you "Daiya", I was also worried if I should call you the same and in "Haikara-san” performance run I called you "Daiya-kun" but I later also went with calling you “Daiya”.

(3) Birthday presents Hitoko: My first Flower Troupe birthday was spent during "Haikara-san” performance run. Daiya made me a t-shirt and a tote bag as birthday presents. Now I still use that t-shirt and still put yoga mat into the tote bag when she goes warming up. Daiya: I’m so happy you’re loving the presents!

(After a little interruption of Blan-chan running on the wheel) Hitoko: I was also surprised because of course the performance cancellations happened [in "Haikara-san”] and later when I had another birthday, you knit my name on this blanket? and I thought "How did I influence this kid? Why is she making this amazing gift for me, why does she know how to do all this!?" I was surprised and happy. Daiya: Even though now we talked much more, before I wasn’t able to talk to you...because I didn’t have the courage to do so....but now there’s this programme and other opportunities that we can talk and be close to each other! Hitoko: I think it's alright if at first there's some distance, that we're not familiar with each other. At least it's getting better recently!

(4) Daiya’s memory of Hitoko

Daiya: The greatest memory is still "Haikara-san”! Even though it was a short time that we could talk or even didn't get to talk later, but I was thinking "If that was okay"... and feeling so nervous...

Hitoko: True, because that would be your first time taking on my role [in the Shinko]

Daiya: Because I love acting, and I would think a lot and be frustrated over some pain points, such as the awareness and feeling in acting, I felt that it's changed a lot.

Hitoko: I somehow also thought that after hearing my advice, it was memorable to me that you tried to make your characters stand out by thinking of what to preserve and what to change in your style of acting.

You know, whenever I read Sanada as a character, I can't help but think about how once he chose you, that's it, yk? He chose you. He's stuck on you. His heart, his mind, both yours.

And so it's left me with this exes-to-lovers thing that I can't quite get out of my mind.

daiya no ace anime reflection/review

im at a point in my life where i have a lot of free time at the end of the day and i find myself filling that slot with anime.

for the past two weeks, ace of the diamond has taken up a big portion of my mind as i found myself falling in love with the team and its players.

about a month ago was when i started a roll on watching sports anime. i caught up on haikyuu, binged blue lock and ao ashi, and finally spent another good chunk of time on free!!. ace of the diamond was no new title to me, yet for some reason i kept it on the back burner. i dont know why; whether it was the art style, the then-seemingly long list of episodes, or the fact that it was baseball. maybe it was all of them. when i burned myself out trying to find another anime, i finally settled on giving DnA a chance.

today, as i have finished all 176 episodes (no OVAs yet!) i confidently say it's one of my top, if not the top, anime ive seen so far.

i noted a few things as i progressed through the series: strong points, cons, favorite characters, and a few personal thoughts.

i will start off with the cons head on. daiya's is, i guess i could say, notorious? for its "annoying, loud, benchwarmer" MC. one genuine complaint i do have is the lack of animation quality in the third season. there were many still shots with voice overs, though i felt a little more satisfied with the animation towards the end. also, to a smaller extent, the anime is not as complete as the manga.

anyway, i think the slow burn is actually a strong point, as many others point out. indeed, it is the very low lows that make the highs so high. don't get me wrong, i love a stupidly powerful MC, such as mob psycho 100 or OPM, but the realism gives DnA its charm and relatability. when others say "season 1 is bad, season 2 is good, season 3 is amazing," they are not lying.

DnA's charm not only lies in its realism, but also its character development and character interactions. brotherhood, leadership, and teamwork are all themes throughout the anime. the way the third years cared for their juniors and the way the juniors fought to elongate their seniors' summers was beautiful, heart-wrenching, and gut-punching to me, a recent college graduate. these types of moments are not uncommon in sports anime, but something about DnA's execution made it so much more..emotional? relatable? whether it was due to convenient timing or the fact that the sheer amount of episodes made me feel like they were actually my own friends, i just felt so much more compelled when watching daiya.

on the topic of my personal emotions, as i said, the themes of graduating/retiring really hit home for me. but that made daiya all the more special to me. both personal relatability and just watching everyone's hard work made it so easy to sympathize with their determination. maybe it was the countless scenes of them heaving and gasping for air; or the scenes where TJ made their frustrations so visible and vulnerable. as a watcher, i did not see myself rooting for some characters in a show; normally, i'd take a normal stance with the expectations that the "of course, the MC team will win." i saw myself rooting for my friends. in addition, knowing TJ, we can never be too sure on how seido's games will actually go. everything comes down to the realism. it's daiya's realism that made me feel their passion, made them so relatable, and made it feel like they were actually at high stakes. i truly, rarely never cry when watching an anime. besides assassination classroom, no other anime has made me so emotional. not only that, but daiya made me cry several times. the amount of immersion is insane.

to no surprise, my favorite character is miyuki. he was the know-it-all. he was essentially the rock of seido with his calls. i often found myself wondering how strong seido would be without miyuki. no disrespect to ono; as he proved, and as kataoka also believes, ono is also reliable. but miyuki was just built different bro. anyway, i appreciated his character for not only baseball iq, but his rapid maturity into the captain role, and his flexibility with his juniors. i found his personality very admirable and his logical approach to situations both relatable and reliable. other characters i particularly were fond of were chris and kuramochi. if okumura had more screen time, i could also see him climbing up my list. as someone who had no prior baseball knowledge, daiya/seido as a whole, but particularly chris and miyuki, gave me a newfound respect for and fundmental understanding of baseball.

i think one last thing i wanted to note was that i really don't read manga. but for daiya, im definitely gonna pick up the manga now. i have never done this before for an anime, even others i really liked--hxh, haikyuu, one punch man, etc. i just never felt compelled to read the story further beyond the anime. but for daiya, this is something im willing to do. i just love it that much.

if you are having second thoughts or are debating on watching DnA, def watch it if you do not mind slow burn and can take a realistic approach. on the other hand, i do not recommend if you want to see an OP MC.

I can't remember if I've asked you this already or someone else has if so I'm sorry. I'm looking for some anime to watch and wondered if you could reccomend me some of your faves.

Hoo boy, that’s a seriously long list 😂 (please make sure to check them all out if you have any triggers, because some of these are pretty messed up).

One Piece - all time favourite, could not recommend it enough (but be aware you’d have over 1K episodes to catch up on lol).

Fairy Tail - it’s a walking cliché of fanservice and friendship, but by god I love it (also Natsu/Lucy is my all time favourite ship).

Gintama - so weird, so crude, so funny, it’s a comedy/parody anime that may confuse and baffle at times, but a lot of the bigger arcs that follow a linear plot are so good.

Full Metal Alchemist(: Brotherhood) - I’ve watched both versions and Brotherhood was imo superior, but the 2003 version doesn’t slack, so if you’re willing I’d give them both a try (can never get enough FMA is what I’m saying).

Wolf’s Rain - my first anime and the one that led me into the rabbit hole, kind of surprising because I was like 10/11 and this shit was deep.

Bleach - okay, I have a real love/hate with Bleach but you can’t go wrong with everything up to the end of the Soul Society Arc, after that I will take no responsibility lol.

Jujutsu Kaisen - if you haven’t watched this (or read it), you need to go do that now.

Hunter x Hunter - top tier anime, it’s as popular as it is for a reason. The Chimera Ant Arc…yeahhh.

Blue Exorcist - many peoples gateway anime, it’s fun, it’s angsty, and it’s not a good idea to trust your favs.

Banana Fish - this fucking manga/anime…(please be warned that there are a lot of triggering scenes and topics involved).

Nanbaka - another parody/comedy anime that smacks you with the feels, seriously it’s a good one.

Akatsuki no Yona - look everyone is really pretty, I want to marry my own Hak, and Yona is a bad bitch (although don’t listen to people screaming about character development, there wasn’t actually a lot lol).

"Hey, Daicchi?", Spoke Hiro, who was sitting at the edge of the couch while rocking his legs like a bored child.

"Hmm?", hummed Daiya carelessly as a type of response, scrolling through his phone as he took over the whole couch.

"Have you..ever tried jam?"

Daiya paused for a moment then gave Yasuhiro a raised eybrow and a confused look. That really was a weird question to ask even for someone like him.

"Y'know like-..the kind of jam that's made at home? Not the store one??", Hiro tried to explain while waving his hands defensively as if he was attacked by Daiya's response, "You ever tried that?"

"Hmm..", the other roommate surfed through his memories for an answer, "Nah, don't think so".

"..You wanna?" Hiro questioned, although his face was almost begging for a yes.

"Ya know how to make jam?" Daiya asked in a joking tone, though he was in fact surprised by Hiro's knowledge of the topic.

"Well..not really..but i DO remember the way ma used to make it! I sure forget a lot of things but ma's jam recipe ain't one of 'em!!!" Hiro argued. That question really felt underestimating.

"Okay okay, if ya want to then sure, why not?" Daiya said soothingly while getting up, as he noticed that Hiro was getting a tad bit angry.

-And so, they both headed to the kitchen, in an unplanned quest to make a...

"What kind of jam are we meant to make??", Daiya looked at the fridge confusedly, he was not certain where to even start.

"Pretty sure we got some apricots rollin' 'round those parts?" Hiro grabbed some spoons needed for the jam.

"Yeah, 'course we do! Thanks, Hero", Thanked Daiya as he snapped his fingers, while using the nickname he chose from the day they met in middle school.

Daiya grabbed the apricots from the fridge and some sugar from the cabinets, as he noticed that Yasuhiro brought out the rest of the requirements on his own. How fast.

"Just for yer information thought", the eldest Oowada warned as he pointed his finger at Hagakure, "Since this is your idea, you are gonna do the dishes". He paused for a moment.

"And if ya break somethin' i'll break yer fuckin' jaw ya hear??" He cursed, looking very protective of his dear dishes.

"Okay dude chill! I'll be cautious trust me", assured Hiro, knowing Daiya and his warnings.

- After that, they started preparing the sweet recipe, with Yasuhiro giving out intructions and Daiya following them. Soon enough, they finally finshed...

"Woohooo!" Yasuhiro blowed as he threw himself on the couch.

"Move yer ass away i wanna sit too", Daiya angerly ordered, though he wan't angry at all, "besides the only thing ya did was tellin' me what to do".

"That AND washing the apricots AND cutting them too! That counts, Y'know???", Hiro defended his dear self, "besides, ya still said i gotta do the dishes, so i'm not done yet!!"

Daiya couldn't help but let out a small chuckle, "Yeah sure, whatever", He said nonchalantly while handing his roommate what appears to be a small sandwich.

"What is this?", Asked Yasuhiro, looking geniuenly confused.

"Wouldn't ya like to try the product of yer ideas?", questioned Oowada sarcastically, still holding out the sandwich.

Yasuhiro took it while mumbling out a small "thanks", to wich Daiya responded by a slightly louder "No probs".

-And so they sat down quietly, enjoying the sweet sweet result of their hardwork (with even more hardwork awaiting Yasuhiro's arrival at the kitchen).

Moving away from uncomfortable topics to Mondo. Hmmmm his talent probably won’t change much especially as the type of delinquency started in this era. Also Daiya is fucking dead in this timeline no matter what.

Yep, He would be identified by many as a greaser, due to his looks and hairstyle. Mondo's design really fits the description of 50s-era greasers.

Sadly yes, Daiya would be dead, unfortunately. Some things never change.

Top Executions!!! They can be any for any game and you can even say any of the executions that weren't used. Victims and/or survivors executions

Hmm... This one is really tough, since I'm not the biggest fan of the executions in general, you know? As such, I won't rank them, but I will list the executions (or unused executions) that I liked in general.

Since there will be spoilers here for both DR 1 and 2 (I've still not seen 3, since the GG haven't played it yet and I have no interest in playing these games myself), I'll put a read more. ^-^

Alright, so here's the list of executions that I somewhat liked. ^-^

Gundham's execution. Obviously it was hella sad, but I liked the touch of him having put his Dark Devas down and having them watch and be all sad. It was freaking heart breaking, but in a good way, you know? I also felt it was fitting for his character to be killed by animals in some way. It was more fitting to his character than some of the executions, at least.

I'm not sure if you also meant the deaths of those who were murdered in this, but I figured I'd also add that I liked the whole situation surrounding Nekomaru's death. I like how it was shown that it was a legit battle between Nekomaru and Gundham, and that Gundham did legitimately win... kind of. Technically using his dark deva and utilizing Mechamaru's sleep switch wasn't super honorable, but it was utilizing his talent and was done in as fair a way as possible. Honestly, the motives of the murders in DR 2 were much better than the ones in DR 1, I think. They all had some good, legit reasons for doing it and it felt more believable than the first game, I think. Even Nagito's motive for his suicide was understandable in the end. Though... dear god, was that whole thing messed up. Nagito, bro, ya got problems.

I'm gonna be honest here; I actually do kind of like Mondo's execution. I know a lot of people don't, and I think some of it has to do with something I don't quite know about (if anyone does want to explain or point me towards an explanation for what was wrong with Mondo's execution, feel free), BUT just based on the execution itself... I did kind of like it. For one, I like the idea of Mondo dying on a motorcycle. I wrote about this in my mini fic thingy, Another Life, but I do think it would have given Mondo some comfort in the end. I always kind of thought that Mondo would be more understanding of dying if he died in a motorcycle accident, you know? It's one reason in TPWM I always have him be so indifferent to the thought of death when riding his bike. He doesn't necessarily want to die, but he's made peace with the idea, especially after what happened with Daiya. Also, dying by asphyxiation seems... tamer than the other deaths. Like... getting pelted to death by baseballs, burned at the stake, or crushed by a machine (not to mention battered up and then thrown into a volcano, killed after fighting off many opponents while realizing you may have accidentally killed someone you love, getting trampled to death, crushed by tetris, shot off into space on an... explicit hand syringe rocket thingy????? seriously what the hell was Mikan's death what)... of all of them, asphyxiation seems like a relatively painless, simple death. The whole Mondo butter thing was weird, yes, but to me that always seemed more like a stylistic thing, not what really happened... you know? Also, even if he did somehow turn into butter, he still would have asphyxiated before that happened, so... it's something.

Honestly, none of the other executions in canon were ones I liked much, so this last one is one of the unused executions from the first game. And this one is Taka's, since I saw this super cool fan animation of his execution, and while I hate the execution in theory, the art is awesome and the execution is somewhat fitting for his character. Very gruesome, and after what happened to the former PM of Japan not super topical (I don't know much about the man, so I won't say any more than this), but it's still an interesting way to go. Obviously it would never have been used, and if it was, I'd have hated the game for having Taka kill someone, but still. A cool concept. Anyway, here's the fanimation if anyone else was curious. Just a warning, but it does have an assassination by gun in it, so, uh... yeah.

Anyway, yeah, not the biggest fan of the executions in the first two games to be honest, but these are my top, I guess. Oh! And I just wanted to say this here even if it's kind of unrelated, but what the hell Mahiru?? Seriously, who the hell says to someone who just found out about the murder of their little sister "you know you shouldn't have sought out revenge for the murder! That's bad!" Like... dude!!! You covered up a murder!! Also, this is someone in the Yakuza and you were alone with him!!!! What did you think was gonna happen!!!!! Sorry, but I just wanted to say that somewhere, it's been driving me mad since I saw it. I was never the biggest fan of Mahiru's character, but that whole thing made me honestly mad. It just seemed very inconsiderate and honestly cruel.
