hi sea, hope you're doing well!
so, i haven't really been here for a while because life happened but I found myself wondering recently, how is everything going here? from what I've seen louis looks really good and happy these days and he's joining a bunch of festivals? exciting things!
Hi there!
In terms of Louis’ trajectory— the general direction of his career— 2023 has been the best year for him ever. Including in 1D.
Louis released FITF, an album that went to Official Charts #1 in the UK, Billboard #5, and many top tens internationally.
After the 80-show world tour last year (2022), Louis then booked the biggest solo tour he’s done so far. FITFWT 2023 had 79 shows + AFHF. Louis played some of the same venues that 1D played at the height of popularity, and sold out the O2 Arena in London.
28 Clothing began selling products this year. The choice to partner with Hype Beast for the limited runs is on brand and very smart marketing. Using a separate marketing firm for 28 was also a great idea.
Louis will probably have one of the largest merch sales this year, all while keeping his prices average (for tour merch). At Matt Vines’ estimate of $38 per person on tour, he will have sold about (conservatively) $10 million in tour merch this year, not counting 28 Clothing. I estimate revenue for tour tickets to be around $14 million (assuming about 250k tickets for FITFWT 2023 at $55 per).
Even if these aren’t the biggest numbers, Louis’ cumulative achievement comes from many years of stop-and-start disruptions, much hard work and heartache, and— initially— some very hopeful, loyal, diehard fans who kept waiting for him and encouraging him.
The achievements also feel authentically won, as the biggest radio stations in the UK and USA are still blacklisting Louis from the airwaves. He might come on Jimmy Fallon and iHeart, but it’s rare to hear his music on radio— which translates to few streaming playlists. BMG UK also treats Louis like a catalogue artist and relies on fans’ word-of-mouth for promo. So for so many fans to show up for him at the concerts really means genuine interest, real love.
In addition, Louis is being nominated by some mainstream music media, like Rolling Stone UK and Billboard, for legitimate awards (Best Tour Act for RSUK, Best Music Documentary for Billboard). It reminds me of the start of his solo career in 2017-18, when Louis was up for awards like iHeart’s Breakout Solo Artist, Best UK/ Ireland solo act, and other awards, instead of simply being shut out as in 2019-22.
My opinion is that RSUK and Billboard have nominated Louis to harness the social media power of his fans and draw more attention to their awards (once again, free PR), especially since the Billboard award is fan-voted. However, attention to the awards also keeps Louis’ name in their publications.
Finally, yes!!! Festivals!
So far Louis has been booked in festivals only in Mexico, the UK, and Europe, but this is also where his audience has the highest concentration. The choice to do festivals with rock and indie acts makes sense, because Louis is already friends with many current acts (and has toured with several) and there’s potential for the audience to cross over. Listening to Faith In The Future, I would say that Louis can still go further in an indie sound. He loves his big pop choruses — bless— but he can convert them to rock, not just in instrumental arrangement but in spirit. To me, Back To You isn’t really a rock song and it doesn’t sound like a rock song no matter what, but it is fun. The festivals are a good way to test his music and go further. All around him are inspirations.
(It’s also inspirational to see people like The Snuts going out on their own label. Much food for thought.)
Also in terms of business structure, Louis and Matt Vines invested in OpenStage, a business that taps into direct-to-consumer marketing for artists via social media and texting. It’s too early to know whether this company is the “pirate” that bypasses big music labels, radio, and streaming services to sell to and connect to fans directly, or whether it will get bought out by a big PR firm or killed by competition. However, Louis has been doing independent festivals, playing at independent music venues, promoting smaller and indie artists, thinking about managing these artists and starting an indie label for years. These are early steps for Louis to establish a presence outside of traditional music industry.

Louies' 2023 Wrapped Tag Game
Rules: Answer the questions below and tag at least 3 people!
Thank you so much @louis-in-red for tagging me <3
favorite walls song: It changes all the time but right now, it's always you.
favorite fitf song: All this time.
most played song on Spotify by Louis: From fitf, the greatest 😭. I would've loved for it to be all this time but i always play the album top to bottom that's probably why the greatest is my most played (great song btw! I love it). From walls, always you. But my all time most played songs by Louis are bty and jho (it's Spotify's doing).
favorite louis lyrics: it's a crime to ask this question to a Louis Tomlinson fan bc the man is a lyrical genius but right now it's either "and i keep on building mountains hoping that they'll turn to gold but the truth is i still doubt that what i do can get me home" or "it's an old curse dreamers diving heard first broken beaks and dead birds can't get through the glass and there's no use crying over spilled blood caring only kills love a kiss won't bring it back". Just typing coaoac lyrics i'm in awe with his mind, that's a poet your honor
louis life lesson: "sometimes you're just running forward and you're missing all the action"
favorite louis outfit: you can't ask me this question he served so many iconic brillant outfits especially in the fitf era but if i really have to choose one nothing will ever match this outfit. And THE POSE! I think this is my favorite outfit of all time on anyone not just Louis. Obsessed!
Tumblr media
favorite tour show: ltwt Austin, fitfwt Woodlands, fitfwt NY, fitfwt London ( i know these are a lot of shows but i love them all so much ok 😭) and if we can count afhf then the first afhf will always be THE Louis show for me, just iconic
favorite public appearance: aotv Japan premiere and RS UK awards red carpet (he's so charming i melt everytime 😭)
favorite AOTV scene: That yacht scene when all this time started playing and the final scene at the Milan show 🤧. Cinema at its finest tbh
favorite band or crew member: i don't really have one. I just like when they're professional and do their jobs but also treat my baby like he deserves so i like Matt D, Steve and Zak from the band. And from the crew: Joshua, Krystle and Joni
favorite picture: this is crazy, i can't choose one pic. I can't even choose 10 pics 😭 that man is a walking art. That being said, do not underestimate my ability to make everything about the picture with that Anarchy outfit (the picture above)
something that you are looking forward to in 2024: Fitfwt Latam and all the festivals he has lined up (including afhf of course 🤭)
one wish for Louis (or Louies) for 2024: I just want proper build up and promo for LT3 is it too much to ask 😭.
Tagging @ahurricanebehindthedoor @milf-louis @buscrimes @comradelouis @cassandraatthegates @different-names-on-the-gates @pureasthedrivenslush @riverswater @stormyhale and sorry in advance if you were already tagged/ you already played the game

Louis Birthday Tag Game 🎉
thank you @faithinlouisfuture for tagging me 😽😽😽🫶🏼 mwuah!
when did you become a louie?
i don't exactly know when bc i remember for the longest time denying to stan louis (or anyone for that matter) 😭 but late feb (completely missed the defenceless project bc i didn't have twitter then lol) to april of 2021 i think... february being like, oh this guy from one direction is neat i really like his music and april being, wow i have fallen in hell in love with louis tomlinson he is the only man ever
your earliest fandom memory?
WELL, on tumblr, i remember long hair louis with a guitar walking through an airport trended. immediately after he posted the rockstar pic (april 10) of him on instagram 🙏🏽 AND THEN, as a twitter user... this is so cursed but #iheartawards #louies #bestfanarmy 2021 😭 i think i once told myself i'd only keep up with louis on tumblr but not on twitter,, but because i already made a twitter account in april (solely for voting), it just stuck and thus, after iheart voting ended, my stan twitter account was born lol
your favourite song (one off walls, one off fitf)?
i tend to pick two favorites so for walls it's fearless and only the brave and for fitf, all this time and lucky again
your favourite music video?
walls <3 and miss you when im feeling silly hehe
favourite gig?
ltwt manila 2022 😔😔😔😔😔😔🫶🏼 it meant the world to me 😭 louis was so happy and the crowd energy was so good. i don't know if anyone went live for my show but believe me when i say it was loudddd sksks louis was chatty and smiley and interactive and of course so so pretty. vocals were on point i could actually cry recalling the memories of him singing but Ugh it was 😔🫶🏼 those couple of hours were one of the best times of my life for real not even joking
favourite louis hair?
i love when louis' hair is on the longer side, live from london, walls hair or fitf but a bit longer, actual long hair louis Unstyled (now imagine how he'd look if it were styled), afhf hair of course like his hair in the documentary with him sitting and talking wearing his favorite black sabbath shirt And his hair wearing the iconic first ever 28op shirt. basically! long hair OR fluffy and messy <3
favourite louis interview?
the zach sang interviews and his interviews with olivia jones for total access
suit louis or tank top louis?

Hello Clem,
Top ten AFHF documentary moments, go.
Thank you for this question, Sea! I've watched the whole thing on Saturday, and finally got the time to watch it again today (on a TV screen!). I loved reading people's thoughts on the show and the documentary, but I did avoid other people's responses to your question so I wouldn't be influenced hehe!
I see your question is about the documentary but I'm gonna go with thoughts on the whole AFH streaming event.
Let's start with some ~visuals~
1. THIS!!!
Tumblr media
Louis Tomlinson being the most beautiful, adorable, cute, unreal human being. Louis being a ball of sunshine, happiness, serotonin. For me this gif it represents Louis and the whole festival <3.
for... other reasons... this is a close second and this one is third
The little things
2. Louis tearing up during OTB (ok it's unclear if that's just the light reflecting in his eyes, but...)
3. The note change in Copyx3. I loved hearing Copy live, I thought it was great.
4. Louis kicking down the wall! Just because... look at this idiot <3 Your Honor, I'm in love with him.
5. His :> smile
6. The 7 cover!!! I had never heard Louis sing this song and I LOVED it I am now obsessed. It's so good! The atmosphere live is incredible, the fact that he followed it with Fearless gave such a rock momentum. Also, when 7 starts, Louis walks from the B stage to the main stage; the contrast between his figure and the red lightning behind him...ART! Of course, I LOVED the Beautiful War cover as well.
The BIG things
I know you said "Top 10 moments" but the rest of what I loved encompasses several elements so it's getting quite long under the cut sorry not sorry you guys know me by now right
7. The editing
I think Charlie did an amazing job!!! From the beginning, with that iconic fan; the fact that the footage of the concert is almost half Louis and half the crowd, the focus on poc fans; what is shown about the 2020 Livestream (the target being put on, the stage technicians, Charlie); the focus on Change during the festival rehearsal; the aerial shots of the crowd (so impressive!); the torches during Two of Us; the flags during OTB... The audio is also incredible, how the songs sound so clear and as pointed out, how they mixed the sound down when fans sang History (*blows a kiss to the sound mixing person*)
8. What Louis said
I loved the documentary for what Louis revealed: his thoughts on the shows in Barcelona and Madrid, seeing his heartbreaking reaction to COVID, what he said about creativity during the lockdown, etc. He was being honest and vulnerable, as aways.
There were direct quotes from Louis that I cherish, for he's expressing things that we know to be true (and more complex), but in a diplomatic manner:
"You know coming from a situation like One Direction it was never gonna be a walk in the park becoming a solo artist. I’ve had shit to deal with."
"Too many times in my career have I had to pick myself up and go ‘right let’s go again’. But I the last two years I’ve just felt like I’m finally gaining some momentum, and right now in my head I feel the best I’ve ever felt"
But the good stuff as well:
“Every single time I get up on a stage, you guys make me feel fucking invincible!”
And of course:
“Just the togetherness. That’s what makes me feel like I can take on the world. Because with that lot behind me, who’s gonna fucking stop us?”
I also loved his emphasis on bringing live music back, him saying "as a fan of music myself", saying how important it was for him to have a free gig, and for the festival to be the first post-covid live experience for most people. I think it showed his love of music, his vision, his values.
9. What Louis didn't say but communicated anyways
Like I said yesterday, I think Louis' choice of including Matt Vines and the things his said about his manager are very telling - if you look beyond the words, and in the editorial choices, there's an underlying message. About how his teams is not working for sure, but also, very subtly, how he's the driving force behind the whole thing.
Same thing for his family: there is an emphasis on his grandparents and it shows such a good side of him, it's so sweet. The fact that the rest didn't make it - that's telling. Same for including footage of Charlie, Oli and Luke, I think it shows that they are a constant presence, a quiet support in Louis' life. He doesn't have to put them on the spot for us to understand that they are important for him. The same goes for having so much footage with Helene, it's obvious how much she means to him. He says that quite clearly of course, but showing her being with him every step of the way, including just before he walks on stage, goes to show how she is one of the most important person around him.
10. What Louis showed the most: his vulnerability
It's obvious Louis worked so hard creating the festival from the ground up, yet we didn't see much that (the planing, the logistics, the details, etc). He chose to keep the magic for us and focus on his enthusiasm to put on the gig and his hard vocal and mental work.
We know that Louis is proud to be honest and vulnerable in his lyrics - he "wears his heart on his sleeve". One of my favourite thing about the AFH documentary and the bts footage is that Louis took this further - it's him being 100% honest about his vision, his values, his feelings in his own words, in his own demeanor - from stress cleaning to talking on the phone like a teenager to kicking down the wall from adrenaline. He's showing himself without artifice. And one of the thing that comes across and which is so truly rare in this day and age is his vulnerability. You have Louis, who comes from the biggest boyband, who outsold his tour, who had the biggest livestream in 2020, who has an incredible fanbase, showing his doubts, his fear, his anxiety. Saying he needs to work harder, that he's frustrated with his rehearsal performance, saying he's not ready, that he would rather run away. Who does that? Not a lot of celebrities... It is so real and authentic. It's so refreshing. And it's him.
Just after the festival performance, I wrote about the confidence that Louis had on stage and said he had obviously been working on it; I had no idea that one week later we would get so much footage of Louis struggling with his confidence two days before the event. He chose to show this part of him. The fact that he feels so comfortable sharing this means so much - to us as fans, but also about him as a person.
And then you see him walk on stage, getting more relaxed, happy, smiling, saying "Crystal Palace, sing!" and then singing "Cause we made it"... I'm tearing up!!!
I am so proud of him, of his work ethics and vision, his talent, his perseverance, his optimism, his love for his fans. I was already proud before AFHF, but with this Louis really showed there is no one else like him and he deserves the world.

Top ten AFHF moments, Steph go!!!! ❤️
Hi Sea! As the rest of the Louies, I’m still processing the whole thing. I woke up feeling so proud of this person I may never meet, but somehow feels like a friend from my childhood who I am watching grow up into this amazing performer and singer.
Here are my top ten moments (to be honest the whole thing is my favourite thing in the world right now)
1. His voice at the beginning: hearing his talking voice after so long, was so important. This year was hard, almost zero content, no interviews… so just hearing him speak (…I understood how important people are) was healing. I could honestly spend hours listening him talk 🖤
2. Him interacting with the crowd with the Spanish fans at the Madrid show 🔥 he looked so in his element and so proud (I felt like a fucking God). Kudos to the fan who said Louis is the puto amo 💙
Tumblr media

3. His little dance with Charlie when he arrives to film the Live From London Livestream 😭 I really like his relationship with Charlie and how Louis is always so silly with him. Plus, we get so see how Charlie is directing the whole thing which is HOT! Louis talking about how cool the livestreams are and a great opportunity for fans to see him for the first time… such a good soul that man 😔
Tumblr media
Credits to Sanju for the gif 💙
4. His little feet when he is jamming with his guitar 🥲 also him talking about the lack of inspiration and how difficult this time has been not just for him but for everyone else… it felt so human
Tumblr media
5. His excitement when speaking on the phone to Matt (I’m guessing it’s him) about the free concert. He said he wanted to be the first to doing one and being ahead of everyone else… 😫 plus he was so flirty, playing with his hair… 😮‍💨. I’m adding here as a fave bonus part, Louis being so involved in the whole process, choosing the venue, checking how the stage was going to be, also him being concern of respecting the distance with fans due to restrictions (the way he says Corona… 😳🤤)
Tumblr media
Credits to Sanju for the gif 💙
6. His relationship with Helene, from seeing how they rehearsed together, to knowing they have been working this whole last year through video calls (when the media and “his close friend from the band” said he was just drinking beer and probably chilling)… to know he was working during all this time into improving his voice because he is a perfectionist… I LOVE HIMMSO MUCH!! ALSO! Louis just LISTENS, doesn’t he? Like you can see how he listens to Helene. She could probably give harsh feedback sometimes and he would take it in the most positive way, because he knows Helene only just wants the best for him and her feedback will only be constructive. Her being a huge important part of his life, not just as vocal coach but as part of his support system makes me so emotional 😩 Louis my god! I’m watching again those clips and I’m crying again 😭 (PS: who is John??? wtf 😩 that name has been mentioned way too many times now and I’m clowning)
7. His confidence through the whole show but specially in We Made It??? Like he went out there to WIN!! He gave his all from the beginning to the end. I have to say I’m wasn’t a fan of 7 (😳) because I didn’t really listened to a cleaned version (only the ones from Madrid)… but NOW??? I’m a FAN! The band was so SICK and so INTO IT! It was hot to watch! They really killed it and it was one of my favourite moments from the concert 🤤 kudos to Charlie for capturing Louis’ beautiful eyes during DLIBYH.
8. The fans and how they reacted to everything Louis did or say! Him saying it’s fucking unbelievable and that it’s only posible for the fans 😪😪😪 what the fuck I was worried about? 🥲 and the fans during CHANGE… I don’t think they were expecting that quality of a song and you could tell in their faces that he exceeded their expectations (kudos once again to Charlie for beautifully capture the relationship between Louis and the fans). It was cute that Louis said the song it’s name CHANGE and not CHANGES 🙂
Tumblr media
Credits to setsfiretohistory for the gif
9. The band!!!! My GOD THEY ROCKED!!! They were so into it, they jammed through the whole thing and you could tell they really enjoyed it and that they love playing for Louis!! Steve was so 🔥🔥🔥 the drums were on FIRE!!! Michale and Isaac being a cute guitar duo during OTB and Matt being beautiful and cute during 7 just jamming and rocking 😫 Zak on the keyboards doing his little head movements 🥰 I don’t know what else to say I just love them and I love that Louis has them as a band. Kudos to the string ladies who sounded amazing and were so cool (drinking the encore shots)!!! I hope they go to tour with Louis 🥺
Tumblr media
Credits to Sanju for the gif 💙
10. The after show moments: From the group hug (that shot did some magic as well), to his family and his best friends being there, from Helene being the most proud (crying because Louis sounded amazing) to Louis talking about how he can get lost in his head sometimes but it was different during the festival and that he trusted Helene saying he smashed it… I think he truly felt it! He knew he gave his all and since it’s been a year and a half since he had that feeling… maybe he was afraid he wasn’t going to be that good but now he knows he was the best he has ever been and he feels more confidente than ever. I can’t wait for next year when will get the tour (please let him tour 😭) and probably (hopefully) we’ll get more bts footage since Charlie will be there with him for some dates (I hope).
Tumblr media
Credits to Manu for this gif 💙
Well… this was an emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, I cried, I was horny, I was sad, I was happy, I was proud… It was everything 😌😮‍💨 I’ll watch it again later 💙

Silverfox,
Please give me your top ten AFHF moments:
(you're evil)
In no particular order:
1. Helene crying and hugging Louis after the show. She was all of us in that moment, and I love that he has someone who loves and cherishes him. Someone who takes care of him.
2. 7 live - it was so fucking sexy and his band is amazing. (And everyone offering to do unspeakable things to the band to show their appreciation. Yeah.)
3. His nan and grandad. The look on his face as he was talking to his nan - it was so soft and full of love.
4. Two of Us. His little "ha" in the middle, the way he looks up when he sings it, the footage of the fans in tears, closing the film with a replay of the song.. Jay would be so proud.
5. This is a bit of a strange one - but the way he talked about 1D. And his career post 1D. He acknowledged the highs, but also implied a lot of the baggage that came with it, and how he's had a rough run of things as a consequence. "I’ve had shit to deal with, and had to fight my own way." It should never have been that hard for him, but here he is, doing better than ever.
6. Celebrating with the band after the show. They were all so excited and the adrenaline rush... (he kicked a wall 😭😭😭). His band always looks like they're having a great time on stage and it's so lovely to see them genuinely happy off stage as well.
7. The footage from Mexico. The beautiful colors (I really hope that inspires album colors), the short clip of him playing the guitar. (I still don't know if we know exactly why he was there, but even if it was just to get away and find some inspiration, he looked so pretty doing that).
8. Opening the show with the sequence of WMI, DMD and DLIBYH. I always go on about how he's a story teller, and boy he does he tell a good story with that opening. Also the drums to open WMI?? *chef's kiss*
9. The way his eyes sparkled during Only The Brave (and a lot of other songs too, but that song in particular).
10. Oli being fucking everywhere - but it's funny because he was trying not to be in the footage. Like when they went to look at the venue, he stayed in the van till the camera panned away. And when he drove Louis around, you can only catch one quick glimpse of him in the rearview mirror.

Dear Naz,
Top ten AFHF documentary moments, go!
Seaaaa, thank u so much
Ok in no particular order
1. Helen and Louis' relationship, shes so lovely and so wise, when she said something along the lines of whatever obstacles comes your way its because you can face it, so inspirational, so wise
2. Omg his vocals, he killed it, every single song like you can tell he's put the work in, even without all the BTS from the doc, u can tell, voice of an angel
3. When he's bouncing on the sofa all excited and saying he wants to be the first to put on a free gig, just sunshine, and I know smoking is bad but I love the rasp it gives his voice, but no he really should stop
4. When he sang changes, it was magical just watching him sing and the audience just listening and taking it in
5. When he was all nervous about performing and saying if he could, he would run away, its just so human, I think everyones felt that in their lifetime and can relate
6. Then when he started to sing and he was all like well, what the fuck was I nervous for, and thanked the audience profusely and you *know* its genuine
7. Through the dark, wow, it was one of my favourite one d songs, but having only louis sing it elevates it to a different plane, i'm so happy he adopted that song, alongside drag me down and little black dress.
8. When he was freaking out about his last rehearsal, and wanted to sit on the ledge of the window, so he went to the kitchen got a cloth and then sat, he's such a pampered kitten
9. When he messed up on walls, and got all bashful and was all 'we'll save it, we'll save it', his accent *swoon*
10. At the end when he was hugging all his family and friends, you can tell he's such a grounded person, and he was asking after his grandad, just such a good person. Also seeing a glimpse of hot luke 😁
Overall, paraphrasing sanjus infamous post, blessed I chose louis as my fave, he's a good un he is. Like I lost count on how much he thanked us, like plssss.
Once again, thanks seaaaaa, really enjoyed doing this

SEA I'm here to ask you your Top ten AFHF documentary moments <3
Hello!! How to answer this question…
1. Louis’ spirit— the way he has always been himself, godlike features, anxiety, nerves, naughtiness, big vision and big love, his excitement, protectiveness, kindness. The way he shares the raw heartbreak.
2. Helene. The therapist, the teacher, the friend, the confidante. An angel, truly.
3. Louis rehearsing and planning for the festival at his house. If this Mr. Brainwash artwork isn’t Louis:
Tumblr media
I loved the fact that we could witness, with our own eyes, Louis paying attention to every detail of the festival, from the construction of the stage to actually touring the venue (his hair! the aviators!), to details like sending gifts to the guest performers and having a backdrop for fans to take photos with, to the entrance gates being 2 and 8. Mr. Perfectionist … sometimes you have to let go of perfection and just play your guitar on stage, Louis.
Tumblr media
4. Our discovery that Louis has broadened his listening during the past year, not only to the RHCP but possibly the Beatles in some depths, specifically this album:
Tumblr media
Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band. (Here’s Louis wearing a Yellow Submarine shirt in 2019.)
You can listen to a song like Within You Without You and hear the obvious Indian influence.
5. Which!! Related or not, listen to the opening of Change. Incorporating this intro and outro into an introspective and nostalgic song gives it structure and perspective. I could listen to this on loop for hours, the meditative intro jumping into the opening guitar chords:
6. Louis the independent artist, listening to whatever the fuck he wants, writing with people he wants to write with, getting the sound exactly right, inviting his choice of artists to his festival, establishing relationships based on real desire, real friendship and respect, ending up with performances from the heart because to him, music is a calling, not just a job.
Tumblr media
So he could flip his audience off and we absolutely adore him for it… we are his and he is ours, inseparable, “What was I nervous for?” “With this lot behind me, who’s gonna fucking stop us?”
Tumblr media
With session musicians who will play their heart out because it’s fun (I wanna do shots with them 🥲):
Tumblr media
7. Appropriate to this number, Louis’ covers of other artists… Beautiful War and 7. His covers are so so incredible— he makes them completely different, his band is transcendent and they are on a whole other level. I swear they could cover anything; they are that good.
8. This… *screams in gibberish* … this… um…
Tumblr media
Ahhhhhhhhhhhdfhhgfrtghjj why why why is he like this?? (This is unbridled thirst and what about it.)
9. I loved that Charlie included a large segment with Louis’ grandparents and showed that his close friends — Oli and Luke — are like family to him; they act like family around Louis’ actual family, they help without being asked, they surround him like a buffer when they know he’s anxious or simply needs someone steady around him.
Tumblr media
10. Mr. Lightening, who has my utmost gratitude and respect. Charlie is so seldom onscreen but his love for Louis is plain to see— his professionalism is wedded to his genuine affection: in the way he frames Louis, in what he chooses to include, the story he focuses on, the inclusion of fans throughout, the pride flags during Only the Brave, the attention to details that compulsively matches Louis’.
Tumblr media
Thank you, Mr. Lightening for making this possible: tens of millions of views on TikTok in a few days, videos with hundreds of thousands of likes with no LTHQ presence, no sponsored hashtag, no label presence, no media, no press, no radio.
Tumblr media
Louis, you’re everything.

im jumping on the trend and posting my top 10 favorite moments from the afhf doc in no particular order:
1. the blank wall fans got to write on, i like to think louis got to read it and relive the night of the show and feel even just a little bit how much we all love and support him (also the "we came here ONLY FOR YOU" resonated with my soul)
2. louis saying "cause i've got these lot behind me, who the fuck is going to stop us! yknow what i mean"
3. his face everytime he looked at the crowd and the little sparkle in his eyes but specifically that moment during always you when he's like "louder" 😩🤌🏽
4. him in his yamamoto hoodie in the empty field where the festival's gonna take place and watching it all come together like fck yeah man finally
5. louis being like "only you lot would hear a song once and know it that well" completely forgetting the existence of the music industry staple - bootlegs
6. the pride flags during only the brave like the screen seemed extra bright then like they turned up the saturation, it was beautiful
7. the fans who were on FaceTime with their friends watching the show together, idk it was just such a sweet thing to see i can't explain why i liked it so much but it was real cute, in a similar vein the fans who had met on the flight over, like louis still bringing people together, love that
8. the silence during change, everyone just listening and taking it all in, live shows are how i wish most music was introduced tbh its so raw the reactions are so real and pure
9. the fan that closes out the entire doc with "i came all the way from italy JUST FOR YOU" once again fck yeah its all about louis its all for louis, louis is the moment 😩🤌🏽
10. helene's "that moment might never come" speech where she's like "you're an artist your strength is in going out there and doing it anyway" or something to that effect like its such good advice in general like not getting hung up on all the things in your head and just going for it but like so many other moments it made me happy to know that louis had good people in his corner, supporting him
honestly the entire doc was great, im glad he got to perform in front of a crowd again, he sounded amazing and i hope its only up from here you know

Top ten AFHF documentary moments, go!
Hi Sea!
I wasn't home yesterday and when I arrived I was knackered so I had to pospone this for today when I was more awake and present. I'm rewatching the documentary right now so I will be doing both !!!!!
(Two hours later: i'm only 16 minutes in). (I started at 12 and its almost 5pm. I keep... pausing).
1. Helene. I love Louis to the moon and back and I feel like Helene is all of us. She represents us. She cares about him so much and is such a good mentor ♥ I adored both the before concert moments when she's here for him to help him battle his nerves and the post concert hug. She was crying, I was crying, we were all crying.
2. HIM PLAYING THE GUITAR. THIS IS EVERYTHING I'VE EVER WANTED (and I'm greedy, I want much more of it). Louis shut up I'm listening to the guitar. Long haired Louis playing guitar at the beach ;;_;;
3. His confidence. There were moments of doubt (him stress cleaning!), which I think are not only normal and realistic but also a testament to his perseverance both with his voice and his solo career in spite of everything. "I was fucking feeling like I was flying" this has to be one of my favorite quotes even if he said it when he was nervous. His facial expressions looking at the public.
4. Change. I loved how we got a glimpse of him practicing it too. Not my favorite song from him, but I like the general sound of it and I'm really excited for every new song we get. It has such a classic rock touch, his voice sounds amazing in it and the instruments are immaculate.
5. His grandparents. I love to see he has this support system in his family and how close he is to them. How they speak about this at the beginning and also the hugs afterwards and how he worried about how his grandpa was getting there (♥).
//This leaves me with only two points to talk about my favorite things about the performance...//
6. Him starting the concert with We Made It and the transition between the documentary and the concert are amazing choices. The filming and editing in general were top notch. TOU...The aerial shots. The torchs...The strings (The "hah"). Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Too Young already had a special place in my heart but I think I appreciate Perfect Now a little more every time. VOCALS. As for OTB... again... the shots. The flags. His face. It makes me feel so seen and loved.
7. This is already the longest post in the story of posts because I wanted to talk about how much I love everything related to Louis so a general shout out to COACOAC, Fearless, Defenceless, Walls, KMM and most importantly the covers! He owns these songs now, I don't make the rules. VOCALS. VOCALS. Yes that's all I will say. I'm so glad to have another audio for my collection of audios of 7.
8. Every time we see him interact with the band. The shots. The hugs. Both the individual ones and the group one. I'm so glad to see he picked people he feels so comfortable to be around AND they're all amazing musicians.
9. I just think it's so hot to read "Louis Tomlinson Presents", "in association with 78 Productions" by Producer Louis Tomlinson. This is truly Louis baby isn't it. In general I absolutely loved how involved with everything he seemed to be, he truly had every little detail under control. Him being bossy with Matt Vines and nagging him. Nothing else to add here. Just like, making sure it's when not if.
(Yes, this is just a compilation of Louis saying he loves us)
10. All of this is a mutual thing, all of us feeling that moment // So not quite touching distance? And we have gone as close as we can with that? // Putting on something big, and free and for the fans, you know, as a kind gift from us to them // This is only possible because of you lot // And then I get on stage and I fucking see you lot... what the fuck was I worried about // I fucking love you all // I feel you crystal palace // Throughout this whole gig all I felt is excited, about what's to come, the tour ahead of us. And that, that's thanks to all of you in here. I try in these moments to show you me thanks. But honestly, I can't- I can't even articulate. I just fucking love all of you. And everyone who's not here today, you know, anyone who's...fucking, I love you, I love you a lot // I fucked up your moment now, we will save it, we will save it // As per fucking usual got way beyond me expectations. And that's thank to you lot. And I want you to know... every single time I get up in stage... that's why I put today on....any opportunity that I can thank you lot, cause you're fucking unbelievable. Every fucking time I get up in stage you guys make me feel fucking invincible. I fucking love that feeling // If I've got this lot behind me, who the fuck is gonna stop us, you know what I mean?
(Also, very mememememe (diva?) moment but: when I saw me in the Barcelona footage. And the close-up of my friend's face).
Top 10 things I disliked:
1. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
2. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
3. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
4. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
5. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
6. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
7. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
8. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
9. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
10. Him saying "I haven't given it much a thought" about LT2.
(And his t-shirt. I disliked his t-shirt. Please don't kick me out of the fandom. Also him letting the fans to sing Defenceless bridge. Not allowed. Don't do that again).

Top ten AFHF documentary moments, go!
Thank you for asking sea, but you've really put me in a dilemma, how the f am I supposed to choose 10? All of it was my favorite, he shined like the sun throughout the entire thing.
1. We got to see him in his element, him being nervous and excited just anticipating to share his passion with us. Can you imagine him thinking wishing to run away, and yet, staying put, squaring his shoulders and facing it head on. Hoping to give up, yet hoping against hope to do it again, even if it's just one more time.
“I hate this feeling [before going onstage]. Helene always said to me, that's a choice is it nerves or is excitement? It’s the same. Only now I look in the moment I feel it, but I look at it differently. […] I always have this feeling before in my mind where I’m thinking ‘if I could run away, I would’ but now I’m thinking ‘just get me out there!’ ”
2. You can see, that he is so far away from his ''image'' of One direction, yet the same teenage boy having this unattainable dream of being a singer, and that lad from donny. Expectedly, yes, he has grown and changed throughout the years, but his fundamentals and core remain the same.
“You know coming from a situation like One Direction it was never gonna be a walk in the park becoming a solo artist. I’ve had shit to deal with.“
2. BRUH, Vulnerability? from a white male? In his 20s and 30s?Who's an reputed artist? Who's a millionaire? I-? This line was just so true, and raw, and REAL.
“When everyday is the same, it’s hard to feel creative and its hard to get any kind of inspiration”
3. This sentence to me represented acceptance of struggles, usually a strong personality would rather not acknowledge his/her/their struggles. They'd rather be seen as someone who can do this in their sleep instead of saying, that yes my life is hard sometimes.
“Too many times in my career have I had to pick myself up and go ‘right let’s go again’ ”
4. Efforts, the sheer efforts. When you're at the level that you are, you happen to start putting significantly lot less effort in your work. Instead here's this baby, who is working even more hard, putting in extra energy, time, and assets into honing his craft. A true dedicated artist.
“I put in a lot of work with Helene over Zoom as well because of that I don’t think I’ve ever been that excited over a gig and I finally feel like I’m gonna get out there and not just enjoy it for fucking just bathe in it. Love it.“
5. Right, an artist who values his fanbase instead of taking them for granted and only using them for their money? you're kidding! An artist, who regularly emphasizes the importance of his fans, and never forgets to thanks them? Right, you're dreaming! An artist who meticulously plans a free festival for his fans? You're delusional
“Just the togetherness. That’s what makes me feel like I can take on the world. Because with that lot behind me, who’s gonna fucking stop us?”
6. Helene. That relationship - its closeness and intensity -- really surprised me. You can tell that they share a deep meaningful emotional bond. She's a mentor for him in every way and its clear she loves him as much as he loves her. A pretty rare sight, in between people who don't give really seem to give a fuck about him. There's a mother/son vibe there and he seems to trust her as completely as she admires him. Tbh, Helene I cried too.
“I trust Helene implicitly. She can tell me after I smashed it and I’m trying to read between the lines. Today, today she was fucking crying man.”
7. The moments the band were given to really what they can do, jamming out (including the strings going for it too.) Steve is phenomenal as is Michael, but they're all incredible frankly. The band was so cool, I'd also like to mention the other artists and people who's work The production design, the set design, the lighting, the sounds. Everyone except the marketing and advertising department, should clap themselves for a job well done.
8. Charlie. How well he gets Louis. How loyal he is to Louis, how much he appreciates who he is and what he can do. And how extraordinarily skilled he is at what he does himself. In fact this demonstrate just how good Louis is at finding people whore superb at what they do. He did his job phenomenally, exceptionally.
9. The fans as shown through the lens, which might be a substitute for through Louis eyes. Their love, their pride and delight came across so clearly .I loved that all the rainbow flags were given the spotlight - instead of being skimmed over, Only the Brave was a true moment. Similarly Two of Us, was a real moment, the fans knowing how much the song it meant for him, and understanding its value and being respectful about it. How they seemed shell-shocked and speechless during changes.
10. Maybe most of all, the reckless, fun, fuck it all style of the celebration shots moment and the band euphoric celebratory hug, showing their bond and relationship clearly. I absolutely loved those moments in the film because they were so Louis. He may be the leader but he's also a literal kid, a partner in crime some might say, pure unpredictable fun.
Watching the AFHF documentary, I feel every emotion that Louis went through and I know that we all are felt them together. He was just so happy and confident during the concert. A God on the stage. Anyone who has doubts Louis performance abilities, I urge you to watch 5 minutes of this. The immensity and intimacy are like nothing I’ve experienced with any other artist.
He is a real person, instead of some carefully crafted media persona; he is genuine artist, instead of any fake popstar wannabe; has real talent, instead of pretending to be talented; he is humble and kind, instead of someone advocating to be humble and kind, he is gold, instead of being glitter, and he is the SUN, instead of the moon who leaches of off someone else's light.
His character and personality was really visible. This was better than any interview, any promo, anything we could have hoped for. His standards are so very high, and he’s truly harder on himself than anyone else around him. I've no idea how he doesn't drown in the pressure and instead finds a way to break the expectations. Truly, As many have already commented, Louis always delivers, because what he gives is from his incredible intelligence and his big heart.
Tumblr media
The reason it was fucking unbelievable was yes, ’cause I played me music and I sang some shit, but more importantly that we all are in the same room with the same idea, the same intention, the same feeling... And that, more than anything, is what I’ve come away from these situations feeling just this togetherness, and that is what makes me feel like I can take on the fucking world.

end of the year: this or that
thanks for tagging me @seasurfacefullofclouds1 @bluelightsaber and @longhairedlouist91 ❤️
JHO or DLIBYH - DLIBYH, the official pick me up song
BTY or miss you - look if you can listen to the music box version of a song for hours, this means the song is top tier (see also the indoor pool version). The only bad thing about Miss You is that Louis doesn't want to perform it on stage. Always in my heart, Miss You <3.
JLY or OTB - Only The Brave (10 minutes version) would end the Catholic Church.
fearless or defenceless - using my joker card here because you can't make me choose between my babies. Fearless' guitar solo and the chorus with the crowd??? Defenceless' heartbreaking, soft and vulnerable emotions...??? Heaven's playlist.
always you or habit - if I had a time machine I'd go back in time and make Always You a single because that song is the perfect summer bop and the fact that some people go on about their lives without having heard this song is criminal.
too young or WMI - Louis opening his sold-out tour with the drums of the live version of WMI which is both a celebration of his perseverance and a subtle f*ck you... it's making me feel things.
KMM or walls - Sexy rock song with amazing guitar live?
perfect now or two of us - it's hard to choose, but the strings in the live version of PN have won me over.
copy or change - lyrical masterpiece
beautiful war or 7 - look i spent days listening to AFHF's 7 cover on repeat (much to my neighbour's dismay) and this song is everything, but the emotions, the lyrics, the drums of Beautiful War... it touches my soul.
drag me down, TTD or LBD - unpopular opinion, i know but! LBD makes me wanna dance, i love the energy.
live from london or AFHF - i love the clean audio tracks that LfL provided, but I have to say Louis sounded much better at AFHF and it was amazing to have the energy of the crowd and the fans singing. He belongs on stage! Can't wait for LTWT!!! 2022 bring it on ✨
tagging @joliepetitelou @quelsentiment @quetzal-28 @28quavers @faithinlouisfuture @lwt28brave @louiscassettes @dlibyhbcn @lolasong @shutterbug2012 @itsallaboutzayn and whoever wants to do this!
Happy New Year 🎉 😘

Top ten AFHF documentary moments, go! 🤍
I don't have any particular order but here we go top 10 moments for me
- Louis singing drag me down will always make me happy because yes nobody will drag him down.
- His love for the fans, I already knew that but seeing him saying all those passionated stuff about us is just heart warming.
- When he sees his band, they are all so cool and nice. I don't really know any of their names but I think they're cool.
- Helene and Louis' friendship, I never realized how close they were and it's a nice surprise see someone who worked with 1d being nice to Louis (seeing most of these people are just f* garbage) and helping him mentally and vocally.
- WHEN HE WALKS INTO THE STAGE...I cried a bit in that part. His eyes are just so full of emotions you know. He made it.
- "I fooking luv you all."
- Him singing Only For The Brave is always special.
- I found very endearing him saying to the tecnical people the problems with his ear piece "everything up" "I can't hear a f* thing up here."
- The whole lyrics of change.
- The end where all his friends and family were there to support him.
And a bonus: the fact that o matter where in the world Louis' in it...there's always a brazillian flag around lol
