Sobbing with tears as I watched the first story of #詩季織々 (Flavours of Youth), a Japanese anime set in China. The first chapter entitled The Rice Noodles tells a story about a boy growing up with his Grandmother and eating rice noodles together in rural China, and as he grows up, time change and he returns to his dying grandmother who apologized that they will not be able to eat noodles together. Spending the afternoon @shutterfoodie’s while watching the #royalwedding, she suggested we host a high-tea party together. So we bought a millennial pink cake tier and decided to gather some local delights such as risoles, kue lapis, lontong, somay and made some tradition English sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches by me, and Grace made ham&cheese sandwich. • My other-half insisted that we have English rose as the table setting and Grace yesterday replied, “I can make an English rose...”😳 and we were like “how could you make a rose?” And she said, “i can, you want like a roast chicken, or roast beef” and I was like “Oooh no Grace, he meant a rose, as in the flower, not a Sunday roast (nobody says English roast btw!)” 🤣😂🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 • Thank u for hosting it at your place Grace! This afternoon’s #teatime situation at @aoyamaflowermarket_teahouse... Sister almost directed us the wrong way. She’s actually never been to this tea house so we queued for a bit, and got ourselves a bench seat facing the wall of luscious vines 🌿🌿🌿... This season, the teahouse has been filled with many many vivid pink roses, and when it came to order my drink, I decided to elevate my visual sensory by ordering a vial of hot rose tea. post-tennis breakfast at @kedaikenanga and ordered myself a Bakmi A-B (ayam-babi)... Not sure if I was hungry or what, but today’s noodle was REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD! 🤤 I didn’t even had to add the soup but just a few dollop of chilli, a good stir. The consistency, amount of condiment and everything was so perfectly balanced, I literally finished the noodle in less than three minutes! Skipped lunch today and had a very late lunch at @yamatoten in @senayancity before checking out the @jakartaculinaryfeastival... such a dreary wet day today and I just wanted a quick hot ramen that’s my absolute comfort food for rainy days as such.
