"Someone came in late last night again." Grandpa looks at Katherine as she makes her way downstairs with her eyes closed. "Ding ding ding." She groans opening the fridge. "With those boys again..." He eyes her. "My friends? Yes." She says tired. "You know you work during the day so why stay out so late?" He asks her. "That's when I'm free to hang out with the boys. It's not my fault they party all night." She adds. "I think you meant to say that's when they're free to hang out because they sleep during the day." He gives her a look not understanding why she was friends with Vampires. "Grandpa, we've been over this. Until they try to harm me, I will not kill my friends. Yes, they kill innocent people but-," He cuts her off. "What can follow but and it be good. They're killers." He says making her sigh, "I know but,"
"They're your friends... You have feelings for one, don't you? And you just have this unexplained feeling around them?" He eyes her as she sits at the table. "How do you just know everything?" She laughs at him. "For one, I'm your grandpa and I helped raised you. And I do my research about vampires." He shakes his head leaving the room. "Oh, don't forget Lucy, Michael, and Sam move in tomorrow." He reminds her. "I forgot!" She shouts out.
Two months have passed since she told Paul about her knowing about them. Then last month she let the rest know and they were shocked that she didn't care. That actually made them hope that she was closer to wanting to become of them. Max was made aware that she knew about the boys so it made him happy she was okay with them. That just meant she could be part of the family soon like he wants.
Today she didn't have to work so she just cleaned up around the house making sure it looked somewhat decent for the three arriving tomorrow. When she was younger she and Michael were super close since they were the same age. And they were still close whenever they came to visit Grandpa. She hasn't seen him or talked to him in a couple of years so she was curious to see her cousin along with his brother Sam.
To pass the time she just laid in bed watching what was on MTV. Her room was the only room with a tv. Grandpa didn't care for one but she saved her money to buy one for herself. At some point, she falls asleep taking a nap only to be awakened by tapping on her window. She looks over to see Paul waving but she thought she was still sleeping. "Paul!" She gets out of her bed going to the window, "What the hell? If my grandpa sees you floating outside my window he will take that as a reason to try to kill you." She opens her window. "Then invite me in." He gives her a smile. "I'm not doing that Paul." She shakes her head at him. "You know I can still come in if I wanted to, right?" He smiles. "I know but if I invite you in and you ever decide to turn against me... I can't use anything against you. My holy water won't work on you." She explains.
"You want to use holy water on me?" He plays like he was hurt. "I don't want to but I will if I need to." She laughs. "You think I would try to hurt you?" He seems upset she would think that. "No, but I'm thinking about my family. My grandpa and my aunt and two cousins that are coming to live with us. I'll meet you at your bike." She closes her window and goes downstairs to see him at the front door waiting. "I said your bike. Not my door." She shoves him as they walk to his bike.
When they meet up with the guys they have some fun on the boardwalk. "Why walk around on the carousel?" Katherine asks as the guys pull her on as it goes around. "Why not?" Dwayne asks her so she shuts up. "At least look like you're enjoying this." Paul holds her hand as he walks ahead and Marko was behind her. David ends up touching Shelly's face pissing off Greg so he reaches to grab Dwayne. "How about I touch your girl." He grabs Kat instead by her jacket tugging her towards him. "Hey!" The boys try pulling her back towards them. David goes back over touching Greg's face but the Security Guard gets David. Dwayne gets a hold of Katherine and holds her in his arms away from the group while Paul holds back Marko.
"I told you to stay off the boardwalk." The security says holding David. "Okay, boys, let's go." David gets freed as the carousel stops. The four walk off first keeping Katherine close to them then David follows. As the boys laugh walking off Katherine sees the boys attacking the security guard later. Since none of the boys were near her, she falls to the floor still seeing what happens but it was like she was the Security guard. "Katherine." Marko gets to her first as she lays there unconscious. "Her head is bleeding." David stares at her and the others notice. Marko gets up moving away from her as he tries not to turn. "She smells..." Dwayne was in love with her blood's scent. "Paul, keep your distance." David tells him worried he won't be able to control himself but Paul picks her up to take her home.
Getting to her house he knocks on the door because she was still out from her head hitting the ground. Her grandpa answers the door and eyes the situation. "She fainted and hit her head on the ground. It's still bleeding some. I thought bringing her home was the best thing to do." He tells her Grandpa who was staring him down. "I didn't hurt her." He sighs holding Katherine in his arms still as her head rested on him. "I have a feeling you know which room is hers. I heard her talking earlier." Her grandpa lets him in but doesn't invite him in.
Paul takes Kat up to her room laying her down on her bed and gets something for her head. He was laughing at himself for acting like this with her. Cleaning her head with the blood on the rag makes him go into a corner of her room to calm down. He didn't want her to see him like this. "Paul?" Katherine wakes up looking over at his back. "Your grandpa let me in. Just not like an invite so your holy water would still hurt me. You fainted and hit your head." He says with his voice slightly deeper. "Why are you in the corner?" She sits up. "Your blood." He tells her, "And I don't want you to see me. I don't want to scare you." He says so she gets up walking over to him. "Paul, look at me. I want to see you." She places her hand on his back.
He shakes his head no but she turns him to face her. She stares at his vamped-out face taking it in and he tries to look away. "I'm not scared." She brings her hand to his cheek. "Why do you act differently compared to the others? You show overt emotions." Her eyes scan his face. "I was last to be turned so I still have my human traits." He stares at her. "That explains it." She smiles. "Explains what?" He asks her. "Why I like you so much. Yeah, you're good looking but it's who you are as a person or shall I say vampire." She giggles as he looks at her still vamped out. "You really aren't scared of me? Not even a little?" He asks her. She shakes her head no stepping closer to him, "If I was even a little bit I wouldn't be this close to you." She brings her other hand to his cheek to hold his face in her hands.
Katherine leans up till her lips touched his. Paul was shocked she was kissing him while he was this way but he kisses her back going back to normal. When she pulls back with a smile he was smiling as well. Paul's lips reconnected with hers once more but they had to back away as her Grandpa knocked on the door. "Remember to go to bed at a decent time. Lucy and the boys are coming tomorrow." He eyes them. "Paul was just getting ready to leave." She smiles at her grandpa as he leaves them. "I'm surprised he let me in still." Paul laughs. "Me too." She walks him to the front door and out to the porch. "Will I see you tomorrow?" He asks with a smile. "I'll be with my cousins but you might catch sight of me."
"Get some rest. You fell hard." He moves her hair out of her face. "Enjoy the security guard." She makes him laugh, "That's what you saw." She nods her head as he walks off but goes back to kiss her one more time. Katherine waves as he leaves and in a blink of an eye, he was gone. "I kissed my friend... who's a vampire. I kissed my vampire friend who I like." Katherine talks to herself shaking her head as she goes back inside. "You made me invite a vampire into my house." Her grandpa shows up. "I didn't make you do anything. I was unconscious. And technically you didn't invite him in. Paul said you just said he knew where my room is." She passes him. "And Grandpa, if that somehow is considered an invitation... I'm sure you can still stake him in the heart." She goes to her room to get some sleep.

The Rookie 4x01 Life and Death Recap ****Spoiler city****
I promised a friend a recap, since she can’t watch until tomorrow, so I figured I might as well post it for anyone who wants to see it? I never can figure out a read more break on mobile so fair warning, DON’T LOOK IF YOU DON’T WANT SPOILERS 😁
This is just a rough draft thing, so it’s probably full of typos.
@hamburgerheroes @piratesbooty63fan
Phew… crazy first episode. Unfortunately I was fielding calls and texts about a work issue the whole time so my viewing was very disjointed. So I’m rewatching as I type this recap for you.
The episode is preceded with a recap, of course. Then the opening scene is Chen, Bradford, Nolan, and Harper in tactical gear approaching a warehouse.
While waiting for the go order from Grey, grey has flashbacks of a few hours earlier. They realize Lopez and West are both missing, they find out La Fiera has escaped and assume she took them, then they get security footage of the kidnapping and are watching it at the station, still in their wedding attire. As we suspected. The footage shows Lopez being put in a vehicle and West struggling, then shot in the back, then stuffed into the trunk. Everyone is in shock, Lucy is crying.
Lots of fans are really upset about Jackson, and I get it. But the show runner and writers had no choice. Here’s excerpts from an interview with Alexi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At this point, we’re back to Grey a different officer wants to wait, but Grey says it’s been 3 hours and they need to move fast and orders them in.
They breach the warehouse, find an empty get away car and Angela’s wedding dress on the floor. Lucy moves to pick it up, Nolan stops her, there is a trip wire to explosives under the SUV. They leave the warehouse and realize they had a plane waiting there from the tracks it left.
Next we see La Fiera, Angela, and her female goon in the airplane. Angela assumes they’re going to Guatemala so she can torture and kill her slowly, but La Fiera tells her (as we suspected) that she’ll be kept alive until Angela safely delivers her (La Fiera’s) baby (of course)
Next Grey and Wesley are meeting with a DEA bigwig who essentially says, we ain’t helping. Next they arrive in the compound in Guatemala and talk about how impenetrable it is, etc. She meets the doctor who will be attending her. Angela tries to tell the doctor not to touch her and La Fiera says if she resists she will be sedated for the rest of the pregnancy.
Back at the station Lucy is talking with Nolan, beating herself up about not seeing the trip wire. She’s really just upset about Jackson, she says she can’t believe he’s gone and she and Nolan hold hand for a moment.
Tim and Harper join them and discuss if Lopez is still alive and why. Lucy comes up with the theory that La Fiera wants Angela’s baby as the ultimate revenge. Grey tells them the DEA won’t help. They talk about how Jackson scratched his killer and they’re running DNA. Grey tells them all to go home and get some rest while they work on a plan. ***Chenford alert***
Lucy says she can’t go home and see Jackson’s empty room. Tim says, “you don’t have to, you can stay with me”
Dying!
She says she doesn’t want to impose and this is where he says she shouldn’t be alone right now. She says thanks, he says yeah, then she wonders how Wesley is holding up.
Cut to Wesley meeting with some bad guy and offering to turn dirty lawyer in exchange for finding out where Angela is. I do not like this development and what it can/will do to them in the future.
Cut to a short, weird interaction with Lopez and the female bodyguard then, back to Chenford.
We see Tim in his jammies, setting up his couch to sleep on. The house looks different than I remember it and surely it has at least 2 bedrooms, so why the couch 🤷🏻‍♀️. Anyway. He looks adorable in his jammies. He says, “I’ll take the couch”. Lucy walks out of presumably his bedroom and says she thought he was setting up the couch for her. He says he’s not going to have a guest sleep on the couch and she says she’s not going to kick him out of his bed. He says okay, gets up. Looks a bit awkward, a bit nervous. Asks her if she needs anything. She says “the last 24 hours back”, he says he doesnt have that power. She says, “a hug” and he says, “yeah. Come here” in a soft voice that nearly made me combust! He hugs her. As they go to part things get all UST, he croaks out “night”, can’t quite meet her eyes. Meanwhile she’s definitely got the “realization” light bulb starting to go off slowly. Still a bit confused. He goes to his room and flops into bed. Obviously affected by what just happened. she is the same out on the couch. Fidgety with nervous energy. He looks toward the door like he’s about to go back out there to her, say something more (do something more?) she looks toward his door from the couch, obviously contemplating same. Back to him purposefully looking away from the door, back to her making her decision. She’s pushing the covers off about to go to his door, when his door suddenly opens. He’s on the phone saying “yeah, okay, we’ll be right there”. She tries to pretend she wasn’t already up and moving toward the door. He says Wesley knows where Angela is and they head into the station.
Oh man, it was sooo gooood!!!
Next it’s the Wesley telling them that he knows where they’re holding Angela. They all say they want to help, but Grey says how’re we gonna do that . They bring up “Max” the covert government guy from the counterfeit money case. Grey says fine, reach out. He tasks Tim, Harper, and John to start tactical plan and says Lucy will stay with him to run the murder case. Then he takes a moment to congratulate Nolan on officially becoming a P2. They get the DNA back, the killer is a 17 year old kid.
Government guy shows up at Nolan’s they coerce him into helping. They go to Guatemala separately from Wesley who is supposed to get a meeting with La Fiera without getting killed. Nyla and Tim look hot playing with military surveillance toys while John steals the plans to La Fiera’s compound from the architect.
Lucy and Grey go after the killer. Grey has a really great scene after cornering the killer and he and Lucy take him in.
Back at the compound Wesley gets to see Angela. John tells Nyla and Tim that he has the plans and there’s a weakness, but the drone shows that the weakness has been fixed so they have to go to plan B. Nyla does not like plan B!
Cut to a very sad scene of Lucy finally going home and looking at Jackson’s room as he left it. Tim calls, says they’re going to plan B. Lucy, as well, does not like plan B. She says to give her a minute to get set up. Tim then radios government guy Max, who also does not like plan B. They decide on a different extraction point and he reminds them if they aren’t there at the agreed upon time they will be left behind.
They alert Wesley with fireworks. Turns out plan B is him injecting Angela with pitocin to start contractions so that they’ll have to transport her out of the compound to the hospital. Nyla will have a drug to counterreact the pitocin at the hospital.
Unfortunately, they separate Angela and Wesley. He’s put in a different car to take him away and kill him so Nolan goes after Wesley while Tim and Nyla get set up at the hospital. Lucy is tapped into a satellite giving them info on the vehicles, etc. Tim says, thanks, we got it from here”. Lucy says, “Tim”, the tension clear in her voice. “Please be careful”. With more significance than just one officer to another. He’s in business mode and replies, “I always am”.
Bradford and Harper ambush LaFiera et al. Angela gets into the hospital with Tim and Nyla and gives Angela the reversal shot. As they make their escape to the helicopter LaFiera follows and fires on them, grazing Angela’s leg, she turns and shoots La Fiera, killing her. They make it to the chopper, tell Max they need to get Wesley and Nolan, he says no, they all point their guns at him and he decides to make the stop.
Wesley and Nolan fight their two bad guys (Nolan simply must save the day in each episode). They make it to the chopper, everyone is safe and they get the hell out of dodge.
Then, the time jump. It’s 3 months later and Angela and Wesley are arriving home from the hospital with their son to a surprise welcome home party with Grey, Nolan, Harper, and Chen. They’ve stocked their freezer and bought them a second freezer and stocked that too. Tim is happy and relaxed. Lucy is a bit overly cheerful, it’s obviously a bit forced. She and Nyla present Angela with a basket full of teas and herbs and cookies tailored to uterine health and breast milk production (as she would). Nyla admits that it was all Lucy when she walks away. That it was good for Lucy to concentrate on something positive. This makes Angela turn a bit sad and reflective. The show ends with Angela holding her baby and standing at Jackson’s grave updating him on her life and how she misses him and hopes by the time her leave is over that she’ll be able to face the station without him in it. She then reveals (again, as we suspected) that her baby’s name is Jackson😢

Could you write chenford, and the rest of the team, attending the annual police dinner/event please? Thank you!
You’re welcome Anon and thank you for the prompt! I hope you’re ready for the fluff fest ;)
Lucy Chen had just finished putting on the final touches of her makeup in the bathroom, the floor length red dress she had bought last paycheck was laid on the bed, her black pumps on the floor as she quickly ran around the room.
She was going to be late, he would be here to pick her up and she would not be ready.
“Lucy!” Jackson West voice carried through the crack in her door as he yelled from his bedroom. “Have you seen my bowtie?”
“Have you checked the shoebox on the top shelf in your closet?” She yelled back, putting her earrings in, moving for her necklace.
A few minutes later Jackson yelled back his thanks, a knock on the front door making her curse as she quickly slipped on the dress, pulling up the side zipper.
She could hear Jackson open the door, greeting the person on the other side.
“Chen let’s go!” another voice yelled. “We’re going to be late!”
She huffed, grabbing her heels, walking out the bedroom door. “When they made you Sergeant they didn’t mean drill sergeant Bradford.”
“Damn girl.” Complimented Jackson. “The picture you sent me did no justice and you’re right, your ass does look amazing.”
Tim cleared his throat. “You two ready?”
“Yes.” Lucy said as they headed for the door. “Wait, no.” she exclaimed frantically running back to her room, returning with a black clutch in her free hand.
The trio made their way to the elevator, the car not moving since Tim had gotten off of it five minutes ago. Lucy shoved the clutch into Tim’s hands before placing a hand on his shoulder to balance herself as she threw her heels on, one foot at a time. Tim looked over at her, arching an eyebrow as she placed both feet back on the floor shrugging. “Don’t lecture me about what may be on the floor. I was rushed.”
The car made it to the floor, the three getting off as they made their way to Tim’s truck.
“Any word on Angela?” asked Lucy as they got in, buckling.
“Wesley texted me on the drive over that she was about to break his hand.”
“Well, as soon as we know something, we are heading over, award be damned.” Muttered Lucy.
Tim rolled his eyes, “I’ll let you tell that to the police commissioner Chen.”
“Fine, we go up there, accept the award and leave.”
Jackson laughed. “Lucy, there’s politics involved, you two have to wine and dine.”
“But I don’t want to.” She whined.
“I’ll tell you what boot, we stay for two hours, we schmooze for Mid-Wilshire, accept the award and then we can go check on Lopez.”
“Hour and a half?”
“You did put a lot of effort into getting dressed for tonight Lucy.” Offered Jackson.
“You two are making it sound like a date.”
“If a date only lasts two hours, then someone is doing something wrong.” Tim pointed out. “It’s not a date.”
“Fine. They can have me for two hours, two and a half at max and that’s it.” She countered as Tim pulled up to a parking garage.
An hour later they were seated at the table assigned for their department, joined by Sergeant Grey and his wife, John Nolan and his date.
“And now, we would like to honor one of our former Training Officers and his Rookie. On August 28th of this year, Sergeant Tim Bradford and Officer Lucy Chen of the Mid-Wilshire division were patrolling in the area of Westchester when they spotted large amounts of smoke coming from a residence. Our two brave officers were able to get on scene, finding the elderly couple still inside. They were able to pull both of them from the burning house, administering lifesaving medicine to Mr. Hilt. Sergeant Bradford and Officer Chen went above and beyond the call of duty which is why on the behalf of the LAPD they are receiving the Distinguished Service award. If we could at this time, Sergeant Bradford, Officer Chen please come forward to receive this award.”
The crowd began clapping as Tim and Lucy stood, moving towards the stage. They approached, smiling and posing for pictures as the Commissioner presented their individual awards before public relations pulled them backstage for more pictures.
“I feel like I’ve been smiling for hours. Is my face permanently frozen?” Lucy asked, turning around as they headed back towards the table. “Because it feels like it is.”
Tim smiled as he rolled his eyes. “No Chen, your face is not permanently frozen.”
The Commissioner continued handing out awards before announcing for everyone to have a safe and pleasant night, a band playing music as the higher ups began making their way to the dance floor.
“Lucy,” Jackson said to her, standing as he held out his hand. “would you care for a dance?”
Lucy smiled as they walked to the dance floor. “I will apologize in advance for any bruised toes.”
They danced for a few songs before Lucy felt a tap on her shoulder. “May I?”
Jackson let go as he looked at Lucy, an eyebrow raised in question. “I’d love to.”
Lucy placed her left hand on her new dance partner’s shoulder, her right hand into his left.
“Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight, Officer Chen?” he whispered as they swayed.
She blushed. “You have not, but you don’t look half bad either Sergeant Bradford.”
“Only half bad?” he asked, smirking as Lucy lightly slapped his shoulder.
“You’re incorrigible.” She told him as she placed her forehead on his shoulder. “I am remembering why I don’t wear shoes with more than a two-inch heel.”
“Because it’s not a good weapon?”
“No. Though that is a good point. My feet are killing me.”
Tim was about to respond when his phone began buzzing in the pocket of his suit jacket, a joyous smile overtaking his face. “There’s only one person that could be.”
“Angela?”
“It’s baby time. They walked back over, her hand still in his as he told the table, the table collecting their belongings in a hurry.
They arrived at the hospital twenty minutes later, the group heading for the maternity ward waiting room, finding it empty.
Wesley entered through the double doors thirty minutes later, grinning from ear to ear.
“7 pounds, 2 ounces, 23 and a half inches long.”
Congratulations were made as they each took turns hugging the new dad. “How are they?”
“Good, they just finished up the newborn tests and Angela is feeding her right now. She is insisting you guys get to see her first. Not to brag but she is the cutest baby you’ll ever see.” Wesley said as he took a seat across from the group, taking a moment to let the evening sink in.
Wesley asked about the gala, as they asked about their new family member. Ten minutes later his phone began ringing as he told them about who she looked like more. “That was Ang, they only let a few people back at once, but she has asked for Tim, Lucy and Jackson to come back first.” He grinned, leading the three back.
Wesley knocked as he entered, quietly walking into the room as the other three joined.
“Hey.” Angela said, a tired smile on her face as she looked up from the baby asleep in her arms.
“Congratulations Mama.” Lucy said as she moved closer to the bed.
“Thanks, I’ve already decided I will not be doing that again anytime soon, no matter how cute babies are.” Angela confessed as she ran a finger over the sleeping infants face, the newborn suckling on her lower lip.
“Do you have a name yet?”
“After everything we have been through with De La Cruz, we decided she needed a strong name, fitting for her. We agreed to wait and meet her before settling on a name but once we seen her, the name became fitting. So, we would like you to meet Morgan Amari Evers.” Explained Angela as she adjusted the baby so everyone could see.
“I have to say Wesley, she does have your nose.” Lucy pointed out from the side of the bed as Morgan opened her eyes. “Awwwe, hi baby.”
Angela cleared her throat. “We asked you guys in here for a reason, we’ve done a lot of thinking and we would like you three to be her god parents.”
The room fell silent as Jackson, Lucy and Tim stared down the new parents. “You’re closer than the family we’ve got, and should something ever happen we feel like she would be have the best care of in your capable hands.”
Angela worriedly looked at Wesley as Tim spoke first. “I would be honored.”
“Me too.” Lucy agreed.
Jackson nodded his head, “I’m in.”
“She’s going to kick ass and break hearts when she’s older Wesley, I hope you’re ready.”
They stayed for a few more minutes before leaving, not wanting to overstay, allowing Wade, John and Nyla their own turns to visit the family.
“Sterling’s downstairs Lucy, I’ll see you tomorrow?” Jackson told her, pocketing his phone as he headed towards the elevator, a nurse stepping off the opening car as he stepped on.
Lucy and Tim slowly followed behind, talking about the traits they seemed to have noticed baby Evers had inherited as they waited on the car.
“Did you ever want kids with Isabel?” asked Lucy.
“It was difficult with Isabel, one minute she would say she did and the next she was going undercover on a months long op. I would love to have one or two someday.” He confessed, sticking his hands in his pockets as he rocked back on his heels. “What about you?”
“Someday, with the right guy of course. My mother says she’s getting older and that I’m not getting any younger.” She told him rolling her eyes as they stepped on the car. “I would want to be in a good place first.”
Tim couldn’t help but imagine a younger version of Lucy running around, with big brown eyes and her long brown hair in pigtails as a boy with the same brown hair and blue eyes, barely a toddler himself pulled on the long hair. “Someday.” He whispered, a faint smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye at the thought of what the future could hold.

"Go On, Pour Us A Pint!"
Tuesday 24th November 2020
Hello again everyone! Hope you're having a good week so far, this week has been such a busy one for me! I feel like there's so much I have to do! How are you coping with the slow run up to Christmas?! Have you all done your Christmas shopping? This has been the week I've managed to make a start! Let's hope COVID won't spoil our Christmas!
Anyway, I shall be reviewing Tuesday's episode, I'm really looking forward to writing about this one! Let's get stuck in! The episode begins out on the Square, the police are still pulled outside the Slater household, waiting for Kush to show his face! Whether he's being polite or maybe a little sarcastic, Ben approaches the unmarked vehicle and informs the cops that he's brought them some hot drinks. I suppose if he acts as the supportive citizen, there's no way they'll think he was involved, maybe? At this point, I'm sure the police are only after Kush, as far as I know, they're completely unaware that Phil, Ben, Kat and Shirley were also involved, of course other than DI Thompson who is desperate to get his hands on Phil! As Ben leaves hot drinks on the top of the police car, he walks away to see Martin stood on the front of the Slater household, asking Kat whether she's heard from Kush or whether she knows his whereabouts. But the only thing Kat tells him is that everything is sorted, Martin leaves looking almost disappointed that he didn't receive the answers he wanted, as he walks away, Ben questions Kat on exactly how much Martin knows, but she makes it perfectly clear to him that Martin has no idea what has happened recently.
Eventually Ben returns home, he appears to be pretty agitated about everything that is happening. Phil notices his son is looking a bit distracted, in front of his boyfriend he asks his son what's bothering him. It's then that Ben completely admits he's fearing that the police are still on the Square, Kush is nowhere to be found, the person who grassed them up to the police is still wondering the streets, to him - it feels like someone is out to get the Mitchell family. Both Phil and Callum try to persuade Ben that he's worrying over nothing, Phil explains that it could've been anyone who grassed them up, maybe a security guard or something? As Phil leaves the room, Ben confides in his boyfriend that he can't let anything happen to his family, Callum once again look defeated as he assures his boyfriend he'll try his best to try and find something, to which Ben is utterly grateful. If only he knew what Callum knew, eh?!
Out on the Square, Peter is having a run - maybe trying to get his head together? Music can be heard from his earphones as he runs, as he comes to the Square gardens, he spots both Ian and Bobby across the Square. you can see as he watches that both Ian and Bobby appear to be having a civil conversation, as Peter approaches and questions what they were discussing, Bobby reveals that he was simply asking his Father how to spell "Lasagne!". It's then the Peter questions his brother as to why he's even talking to their Dad, considering he never managed to find Peter the money for Lauren, but Bobby tries to defend his Dad, admitting that he really did try. Peter leaves the conversation leaving Bobby calling after him. As Peter walks away, he bumps into Ash, who tries to reassure him even though Ian couldn't help him, there's no need for him to take it out on Bobby.
Meanwhile, at the Cafe, Mick and Tina have managed to catch up after his return. She shocked to hear that while he was away, Mick got mugged by a group of youths, but Mick reassures her that he's absolutely fine. It's then she apologies for causing so much hassle regarding the Vic, but Mick reassures her that she was just trying to help, suddenly she announces that she's going to make it up to her brother and has a plan set in stone. Mick looks confused, what does mean, a plan?! What is she planning?! However before she can let on, Ian enters the Cafe and she swiftly makes her exit! As Ian enters we can he's walking towards Max as he's sat with the journalist from the Walford Gazette. It looks as if Max is informing the gentleman about the business he runs with Ian, however Ian seems pretty unimpressed that Max is talking to the journalist and is quick to inform him that he needs to get back to the restaurant because they're expecting a delivery. While I'm watching this scene, I feel like saying out loud "Ian has the nerve to speak to Max like that!" - Considering how much he owes him, plus they're business partners, Max is his partner, not his employee!! I'd be fuming if someone spoke to me like that, would you?! However, Max politely excuses himself from the interview and instantly Ian is looking smug and delighted to be in the spotless, however his smug grin is soon wiped from his face as the journalist mentions the topic of "Bribery"! (HA!)
At the Beale household, Bobby is sat looking over his Lucy Beale charity on his laptop as Peter walks in, he seems rather nervous at his brother's appearance. They begin to discuss their Dad, Peter can't quite seem to understand how Bobby can stick up for their Father when he appears to do nothing for them, also considering the horrendous things he's done recently, stealing from their Gran and not even spending lockdown with them, and instead being at the Vic with Sharon. Bobby tries to reassure his brother that deep down, their Dad is an okay guy - while he's doing so, he appears to be tapping his fingers rapidly against the table. He begins to explain to Peter that when Bobby first arrived back on the Square, his Dad was very supportive to him (Really, not that I can recall!) However, Peter has no idea what Bobby went through, As he pressures Bobby to tell him what he means, he gently presses his hand against his brothers to calm his tapping, it's then that the teenager blurts out that he saw Lucy, much to Peter's surprise!
Meanwhile at the Vic, Ian seems to have brought the journalist over for a more private conversation. Ian questions how and where he has heard the story about bribery, it's then that the journalist mentions Suki, and how she bribed him into getting her idea for property put forward to the council. Ian tries his best to swerve the journalist off the subject, saying that this isn't a story he should be working on. But when the journalist refuses to drop the subject, and insists that that will be the only story he's going for, Ian makes one of the most biggest mistakes and drops Suki right in it! He informs the journalist that Suki isn't one to be messed around with, he even describes her as an iceberg, and where she's concerned, bribery is the tiniest tip of it!
Returning to the Beale household, Peter is trying to understand what his younger brother is telling him. He can't seem to understand that he was having haunting visions of his deceased sister. Peter questions whether their Dad and Gran knew about it, which of course they did. But Bobby tries his best to explain that it doesn't happen anymore, but the visions dead get harrowing and caused him almost to commit suicide. This scene is pretty sad to watch, Peter reveals to Bobby how much he's missing his sister and how he'd do anything to see her one last time, he slams the table in anger as he states the fact that Bobby was the one who killed her, out of all the people in the family, why would she appear to him?! But of course, Peter has no idea what Bobby went through, it was as if Lucy was haunting the poor boy, and not in a good way. Peter leaves the room, leaving Bobby alone.
Meanwhile, Kat has visited Whitney - obviously wanting to have an update about Kush. Whitney confides in Kat that he's still causing a lot of racket as he's hiding above in their attic. She mentions that Sonia will be due back from Bianca's any day, so they need to find somewhere else for Kush to hide incase Sonia finds out. However, Whitney also informs her that during that morning she hasn't heard a thing and she's assumed he's fallen asleep. Feeling a bit suspicious, Kat takes it upon herself to go into the attic to double check on Kush, however once she gets up there, she realises he's disappeared! Suddenly Kush is seen entering the Mitchell household, and he's not looking very happy. Both Phil and Ben are stunned to see him as they believed he had scarpered away from the Square, especially considering the police having been waiting outside the house for him. Kush demands that Phil gives them the money they are owed, or he sorts out the situation they have found themselves in, Kush refuses to hide any longer! But Phil isn't one you should make threats to, he demands Kush to leave his house, but as Kush stands his ground, he slowly makes his way towards him and Kat is heard from the hallway and dares him to lay a hand on her boyfriend. Once again Phil forces them out of his house, but something tells me that they're not going to stop pestering him until they get what they deserve!
Back outside on the Square, Gray has taken his children, Mack and Mia for a play about in the gardens. He strolls along with Whitney as they discuss what's happening in each other's lives. Whitney mentioning she's having to cope with Slaters, whereas Gray mentions he's having to cope with the Carter sisters. However as they continue their walk, Kheerat walks passed them and tries his best to ignore Gray but can't help but give him a look, to which he reacts pretty badly to. I think this is the moment when Gray almost revealed his dark side to his children. He confront Kheerat from across the Square, questioning whether he had a problem with him, but it looks as if Kheerat takes his chances to wind Gray up, almost knowing that this could be the chance for his children to see what he's really like. Gray warns him to keep his opinions to himself in future, to which Kheerat responds in a way of really teasing him, as if he's wanting him to show his dark side, he almost pushes him to the edge when he questions him, what's he going to do about it if he doesn't? Gray really sees red and begins to make his way towards Kheerat, but Whitney stops him in his tracks as she calls his name. It's then that Gray begins to come back to Earth and realise what his children had almost witnessed. He apologises for his outburst as Whitney begins to walk with the children.
At the Minute Mart, the journalist who was interviewing Ian walks in, Suki is polite to begin with asking whether his interview with Ian went well, the journalist appears friendly as he mentions he's exploring other local businesses, but of course, Suki doesn't let anything slip and admits she just works in a small shop. However, when the journalist begins to read out her other business prospects, she begins to realise that someone has been having words about her to him behind her back. The only way she can back herself up is by explaining that everyone in her family work really hard for what they've got and are really tough grafters. But when the journalist makes the slight dig that she's had to bribe a local councillor, Suki makes a slight threat that it wouldn't be good if a small local newspaper went out of business for writing false stories. It seems as if the journalist understand the threat she's making and leaves peacefully - however it looks as if Suki is raging from the encounter. Will she find out that it was actually Ian who attempted to throw her under the bus?!
Returning to the Beale household, Peter is still reeling from the news about Bobby being able to see Lucy. He demands his Gran to tell him why no one ever told him anything. Kathy tries her absolute best to convince her Grandson that Bobby was not well, plus the fact he wasn't able to control his visions of Lucy. Sorry but, Peter's reaction I find is pretty childish - when he says "It's not fair!" - I'm sorry to say that although I understand he's upset but how can he say it's not fair?! Bobby was pretty much tortured by Lucy's ghost! Why on Earth would Peter want to experience seeing the ghost of his deceased sister?! Kathy explains to Peter that Bobby has been trying to make up for what he did since he returned the Square, she explains that the only reason he's doing this Lucy Beale Foundation, is to make it up to his brother. Kathy informs Peter that Bobby adores him and he'd literally do anything for him. To me, it kind of looks like Peter has some horrible thoughts going through his mind when she mentions that, is he going to ask something horrid of Bobby, with the knowledge that Bobby looks up to him, will he use it to his advantage?!
Meanwhile, at the police station, Callum looks to be doing some digging on DI Thompson's laptop. Suddenly Jack walks in and questions what he's up to, Callum is quick on his feet and explains he's doing research for a fellow officer. Almost on cue, Thompson walks in and Callum makes it look as if he's managed to find a file for Thompson. As Thompson plays along with Callum's excuse, Jack pulls him for a word warning him not to use junior officers to accept specific files. However, as soon as Jack leaves the room, Callum informs DI Thompson that he's managed to come across the anonymous 999 call, he explains that this is the closest they've got to getting Phil. Although Thompson doesn't seem interested and warns Callum that he's running out of time. As he leaves, Callum looks quite suspiciously at the computer screen, is he going to be able realise who it was who called the police?!
Returning to the Atkins household, Whitney is trying to entertain the children, but they both seem pretty unhappy - maybe is it because of what they saw their Dad do?! Did his reaction frighten them?! Suddenly, Gray makes his way into the house and notices his children's unhappy faces. Whitney explains that they were going to shoot a music video, considering they've been practising for days, but the children don't seem do want to do it anymore. Gray takes it upon himself to speak softly to his kids, he kneels down to their level and tries his best to encourage them, it's then that Whitney suggests that their Daddy joins in. Little Mia then mentions that their Daddy doesn't like dancing. This seems to really touch Gray's heart, he cracks a smile and persuades his children to teach him and they jump about happily. Eventually they manage to film their music video, everyone dressed in sparkly outfits, Gray even makes the effort of throwing glitter about. Feeling very excited that they completed their music video, the children rush to give their Dad a big hug. The look on Gray's face as his children hold him is soft - I get he might have a terrible temper and anger issues - but something tells me that deep down, he is a good Dad ... Or do you all think I'm completely wrong?! As the children disappear to get changed, Whitney brings up the situation which happened with Kheerat earlier on the Square, she explains that she's never seen Gray act that way before. He looks to the floor and simply says that that is not the man he is, Whitney seems to completely understand - to her, maybe Kheerat just caught him on a bad day? Or he rubbed him up the wrong way? She reassures Gray that no everyone he cares about sees him in a bad light, to which he responds with a smile. However, what would they think if they really knew the truth on how Chantelle died and what torture she went through?!
Back at the attic, Kush has found his way back to his hiding place. Kat is trying to understand what Kush was planning, she questions his actions earlier and what he was playing at. But, understandably, Kush is getting sick of hiding, he suggests he just does a runner as he simply can't stay cooped up in the attic forever. But interestingly, when he suggests running, he says the word "We!" - meaning him and Kat?! If this is the only option of this, will they make a run for it, start a new life somewhere else? Or will Kat really take him seriously, considering she's got her children to think about, it may not be easy for her to just jump and head off. We know Kush is leaving, will this be his ticket out of Walford? Will he go on the run as a Wanted man?!
Back at the Vic, Ian is alone as he makes himself a cup of tea for himself and Sharon. He shouts to her to inform her it's ready, but as footsteps approach we see Suki enter the Vic kitchen. Ian is stunned to see her walking so freely inside his house, he informs her she can't simply walk into his property the way she has. However, she's quick to mention the interview Ian had had with the journalist from the Walford Gazette. She seems to play him to begin with, suggesting that neither of them said anything to the journalist and he has no idea about their arrangement, but things take a dark turn as she begins to threaten Ian, warning that if anything about her has been mentioned - she'll make sure he'll regret crossing her.
Returning to the Beale household, Bobby is once again alone looking at his computer screen. It's looking like he's struggling to cope as he stares at the image of Lucy on the screen. Once again he begins to count and he places the laptop screen down. Unbeknown to him though, Peter is watching from behind. Peter mentions to him that counting isn't going to help, Bobby is surprised to see his brother watching him and instantly he is completely apologetic to him about how he found out about his visions. Peter suddenly takes a deep interest in the Lucy Beale Foundation on the screen of the laptop, he notices that overall over £15,000 has been raised! He comments on how generous people have been. Peter sits beside his brother and they begin to discuss Lucy, what would she think of them right now? Would she be looking after them? Just then, Peter asks Bobby the cruellest thing, giving the money that people have raised for the charity to him. Bobby is insistent that he will make it up to his brother in any way he can but not in the way he wants, he couldn't possibly give him the charity money. Then Peter says the most cruellest, nastiest thing you could ever say to anyone - "I wish it was you that died!"
The final scene of this episode, Callum is in the Vic, he appears to be looking at his phone with a file with looks to be the anonymous 999 call that was made to the police. Before he even has time to put his earphones in and press "Play", Ben appears and starts to question his boyfriend whether he has managed to find any leads to who grassed them up. Callum seems a little bit irritable, he informs his boyfriend that he's doing all he can to find something, he instructs his boyfriend to go and fetch him a drink. As Ben approaches the bar, asking his brother to fetch him and Callum a drink, Ian seems to make a snide remark, mentioning that he still hasn't paid for his previous drink, however Ben seems to lighten the mood, saying there must be pros to him being his brother and he being the owner of the Vic now. Meanwhile, as Ben is chatting away with his brother, Callum plugs his earphones and in and presses "Play" on the recording, suddenly he instantly recognises the voice playing and reporting the robbery - Ian!!! Callum looks in disbelief as he watches Ian behind the bar!
How on Earth is Callum going to be able to tell Ben and Phil that is was Ian who grassed them up?1 What is he going to do with this information?! Something is telling me that over the next few episodes, Ian is going to upset quite a lot of people, we know he's going to end up being attack around the Christmas period, with all these different people having negative feeling toward Ian, may the list potentially grow as to who attacks him - the ones we know that have been listed include Peter, Bobby, Kathy and Max - something tells me that maybe Ben, Phil, Sharon and maybe even one of the members of the Panesar family will be added to that list! What do you guys think?! Who has had enough of Ian Beale?!
I hope you've enjoyed reading this post, I apologise it's taken so long! I'm really looking forward to what's going to happen over the next couple of episodes! Thank you all so much for reading and I'll be back again tomorrow! Love you all xXx

Just some fun snippets from the engagement they deserved (especially as we’re getting to whatever fresh hell the crossover holds). Feel free to consider this a fix-it for…god, really the whole fucking season, but I’m giving them a bridal shower where no homophobic parents are in attendance, some wedding planning, and a bachelorette party featuring a one Lucy Lane
For those who had been asking for proposal fix-its, I already wrote one as well as a short ficlet with Maggie proposing for a change
Chapter Text:
“Don’t forget your bridal bingo cards!” Eliza called out, handing a sheet to each guest who walked through the door, along with a little golf pencil in case they hadn’t come prepared.
“Kill me now, please,” Alex grumbled, throwing an arm around Maggie’s shoulders and pressing a kiss to her forehead. The sound of a camera shutter drew Alex’s attention, and she held up a finger, pointing it threateningly at James. “What did I say about what I could do to you with that camera?”
“Ooh! Anyone who has ‘photos taken despite Alex’s objections,’ that’s a box checked for you!” Kara yelled over the din of the party, grinning as several people pulled out their cards and checked off the box.
“Brutus,” Alex hissed at Kara as she walked by.
“Nope, just your maid of honor.” Before Alex could protest, she found her hands filled with a flute of champagne and a cake pop and decided it wasn’t worth arguing—yet.
“Ladies!” Lucy yelled as she strolled through the door. “I have arrived!”
“Oh thank god,” Maggie deadpanned, “and here I thought we’d never be able to get the party started.”
“Fear not, Eliza and I have been hard at work coming up with the very best bridal shower games for you two.” Dropping her voice so that only Maggie and Alex could hear, she added, “And I’ve got even more in store for your bachelorette party.”
“What? I, uh, thought the maid of honor planned that?” It wasn’t as though Alex was scared by the thought of Lucy running wild with whatever inappropriate thoughts that came into her mind but, no, scratch that, she absolutely was.
“Typically, yes,” Lucy conceded with a dip of her head. “But since your maid of honor is more pastels and pompoms than lace and lingerie, I figured I could lend a hand. Thanks, Kar!”
“Please don’t mention it…ever.” She might be practically invulnerable, but she didn’t need to deal with an annoyed Alex in the kryptonite training room.
Once Lucy made her way over to Eliza, pulling far too many items out of her bag to Eliza’s delight and Alex’s horror, Maggie dragged Alex around the room to greet all their guests. The routine was simple enough, an excited, “Thanks so much for coming!” followed by some congratulations and best wishes and every so often a “secret tip” for keeping their marriage exciting and the romance alive.
“They don’t know that nothing about your life is boring, huh?” Maggie asked, gesturing to the clump of Alex’s aunts, all of whom had some different secret for keeping away boredom.
“They think I work in a federal lab…and really only do the science stuff.” Hearing the sound of a fork being hit against a glass, Alex grimaced. “Think you’ve got any alien friends who could be convinced to stir up a bit of trouble? Get us out of this hell?”
Maggie gestured around the room to where her closest alien friends were all looking beyond excited at the prospect of hearing about a softer side to the hardass DEO agent who had only recently been accepted by most of them. “I think they’re too invested in finding out about you to jeopardize this bridal shower.”
“Welcome to Alex and Maggie’s bridal shower,” Eliza greeted everyone, joined by Lucy in the corner. “We’ve got quite a few games to play today, but I think we’ll start by bringing our brides-to-be up to the hotseat for a round of the pre-newlywed game to find out how well these two know each other!”
“Deep breath, Danvers,” Maggie whispered, grabbing hold of Alex’s hand and dragging her up to the makeshift stage.
“For those of you who didn’t catch that, we had our first use of Danvers, so go ahead and check that on off your bridal bingo card!” Kara yelled, winking at Alex. If she thought she wasn’t going to use her powers to make sure everyone got the full bridal bingo experience, she was sorely mistaken. Though, Kara had to admit, she was fairly upset that none of her checked off tiles were in the same row or column.
Eliza and Lucy took turns reading off questions, while Alex and Maggie scribbled answers on small dry-erase boards. They started with a few easy ones.
Alex’s favorite color was quickly answered—blue—as was Maggie’s—green—followed closely by their favorite ice cream flavors—rocky road for Alex, while Alex made sure to note that Maggie preferred the vegan version of chocolate fudge brownie, accompanied by her own editorial note, “Gross.” With a question about Alex’s favorite animal (dog), anyone with “Gertrude” on their card found that they had another square ticked off.
“Now how did you two meet?”
A few moments later, they both swung their boards around. Alex’s read: “Crime scene. It was my jurisdiction,” while Maggie’s read, “National City Airport. She still thinks it was her jurisdiction.”
“And how did you two get together?” Eliza asked, remembering just how many weeks had gone by from the first phone call where she heard about Maggie to the one where Alex finally told her they were dating.
Maggie and Alex’s boards matched exactly: “We should kiss the girls we want to kiss.”
“Bingo!” Winn yelled, waving his card in the air.
“What do ya got?” Kara asked, plucking the card from his hands as she read them aloud; they’d agreed the full party would get to decide whether or not it was a real win. “Talk of Gertrude? Check. ‘We should kiss the girls we want to kiss’ story? Check. Free space. ‘It was my jurisdiction’? Check.  Eliza being extra af? I don’t know… What do you think?”
“Not a chance,” Lucy yelled back. “We have so many more things planned—you haven’t even gotten the tip of the iceberg.”
“Then it’s ruled, no bingo!” Winn grumbled as he reached out and took his card back from Kara, but soon had his pencil back out as he heard Alex calling Maggie “Sawyer.”
“Alright, who was your last date with before you got together?” Lucy asked, wiggling her eyebrows at the look of concentration on Alex’s face as she scribbled her answer on the board. Once they stopped writing, Lucy called out, “So who was Maggie’s?”
Alex flipped over her board, looking slightly embarrassed about her answer: “That blonde lady who dumped you?”
“Uh, technically…she did have a name, though—Tricia.”
“No points for Alex,” Lucy declared wielding her pen like a judge’s gavel and tapping it against the table as she announced her verdict. “And who was Alex’s last date?”
“Some boring dude” was scratched across Maggie’s board.
“I mean, she’s kinda right. It was Max Lord.”
“Fake dates don’t count!” Kara yelled out. “Go back another two years!”
Alex glared at her sister, but Lucy beat her to the punch in responding: “None of you are right. Although she clearly did not know it, Alex’s actual last date before getting together with Maggie was with me.”
“What?”
“Don’t you remember those post-Myriad drinks?” Alex looked confused, while Maggie cackled loudly.
“Guess I don’t get to take all the credit for her big gay awakening.”
“Maybe we play a new game?” Alex suggested, really not needing the next group of questions to all be about her obliviousness.
Lucy shrugged, but pulled out the list she and Eliza were working from. “Okay, we’ve got the purse game that we adopted to be more inclusive—now it’s, what’s on my person?”
Everyone gathered round as Lucy explained the directions. “I’ll call out an item. You can use your pockets, bag, and coats. Whichever one of you can produce it first gets a prize.” Once everyone realized that the prizes were bottles of wine, the labels replaced with embarrassing photos of Alex and Maggie, they looked significantly more invested in winning. Sensing the temptation for cheating, Lucy motioned for James. “Hoist me up.”
“What?”
“I need to be able to see everyone.” She looked at him like it were the most obvious thing in the world. Finally he gave in, lifting her up to his shoulders where she perched, scanning the crowd to make sure no one was already trying to start off with more than they were allowed. “Alright, we’ll start easy: hand sanitizer.”
One of Alex’s aunts won handily, producing not one, but three small travel-sized containers of Purell. Winn claimed the next bottle for having a tin of mints, and Kara shocked everyone by actually having glitter on her person. They ended the game early when Lucy called weapon and found herself faced with an veritable sea of batons, knives, and guns—of both the human and alien variety—much to the horror of Alex’s family members. “Forgot how many cops and federal agents were here,” Lucy chuckled. “Let’s, uh, holster those weapons, grab some food, and settle in for the next game, why don’t we?”
“Wait! Bingo!” Lena yelled. She might have arrived a bit late, but with Kara’s help she’d more than made up for lost time.
“Let’s see.” Kara scanned the card, only to find it plucked from her hands by Lucy.
“Nope, we need an objective third party.” Lucy looked over the crossed off diagonal line Lena had checks through. “Alright, we definitely had Sawyer used as a nickname. I’m sure I did, in fact, say something inappropriate.”
“So many things,” Maggie laughed.
“Free space, yep. Alex and J’onn having a moment…did anyone else catch that?”
“I did!” Winn yelled, earning himself a light slap on the back of the head from Alex.
“Oh! I have bingo now too!” James yelled, ticking off, “Head slap.”
“Too late, we definitely got guns being drawn, so Lena won!”
“Congratulations, dear,” Eliza said, handing over a bottle with a photo of Alex and Maggie passed out asleep on the floor of the DEO’s conference room after having spent almost 48 hours awake dealing with an ongoing threat.
---
“Do we sit Lena with Kara at the main bridal party table?” Alex asked, biting at the tip of her pencil as she looked at the large seating chart she had in front of her.
“Oh, you mean because she hasn’t formally admitted that they’re banging?”
“Some might have said dating, dear.”
Maggie just shrugged. “Are we putting Vasquez with Lucy?”
“No…why?”
“Well they’re also fucking. So if they don’t get to sit together, it would kind of be a double standard.”
“Wait, what?”
“Danvers, you run in gay lady circles now. You’ve gotta keep up with the gossip.”
“Remind me to bring a notebook to our bachelorette party to record any rumors,” Alex grumbled.
---
“I hereby declare tonight the biggest, gayest bridal shower to ever hit National City!” Lucy yelled, gesturing for Kara to pop the bottle of champagne and formally start their evening.
“I take no responsibility for anything that happens tonight,” Kara added, catching sight of Alex’s apprehensive expression.
“We’ve got some roleplaying games, the naughty almost-newlywed game, and then Kara has something ‘appropriate’”—Lucy looked physically pained by the idea—“with glitter and cell phones.”
Grabbing the bottle of champagne from Kara’s hands, Alex cleared her throat. “As a reminder, the wedding is tomorrow, and the city is to be free of any and all crime tonight and all day tomorrow. You are all to report to your designated stations on time tomorrow morning.”
“She just means show up at the wedding venue!” Maggie called out, wondering when their wedding started to sound like a DEO mission.
“If any of you get too drunk to deal with emergencies for me tonight or to risk being late tomorrow, so help me, I will show up at your home with every non-lethal alien weapon I have and ensure that you regret your actions from now until the rest of eternity. Are we clear?”
“Yes, ma’am,” Lucy saluted, grinning and looking far too pleased with herself. “But fine, yes, I know some of you are on call tonight. Don’t be stupid—take your water shots and just embody that white girl wasted no shame mentality, mkay?” Once everyone had nodded in understanding, Lucy gestured for Maggie and Alex to come take their place in the two large chairs they’d decorated to look like thrones. “We’ll begin with some roleplaying.”
“Luce,” Alex hissed.
“Hush now, you’re not a part of this.”
Alex glanced over at Maggie to see if she had any idea what was happening, but she just shrugged. Procuring a top hat from what seemed like thin air, Lucy made a show of pulling three cards out—two small ones and one larger one. “Lena and, oh hey look, me! And we will be giving our best approximation of the Sanvers morning routine.”
“I’m still not sold on Sanvers as our wedding hashtag,” Maggie interjected.
“Yes, well, we voted and you lost. Time to move on and start tagging your posts properly.”
Maggie rolled her eyes, accepting the flutes of champagne and bowl of popcorn that were handed to them while Lena and Lucy took a shot each and got up in the front of the room, everyone else quieting around them.
With an exaggerated yawn and stretch, Lucy sat up. “Sawyer! Wake up!” she barked, earning a few small chuckles from the crowd.
“I’m not that bad,” Alex grumbled.
“Morning, Danvers,” Lena tried, looking significantly less sure in her role than Lucy. “Um, should we get breakfast?”
“I assume you want something gross and vegan or toasted to charcoal?”
Biting back a snort of laughter, Lena nodded, feeling the warmth of the shot she’d taken slowly spreading and helping to loosen her up a bit. Apparently Lucy was quite the natural. “Yes, dear. But first let’s look through our closets and pick out which of my twenty identical pairs of skinny jeans I should wear today.”
“Good idea, then we can go into our leather jacket room and find one nobody’s seen yet.”
“So glad we order them in bulk!” Alex found herself smiling in spite of herself, and Lena seemed to relax even more when she noticed that the brides-to-be were enjoying themselves as they went about reenacting their morning routine.
“Breakfast sure was great,” Lucy declared loudly. “Wonder what I should do now? Maybe I should call my dearest and most attractive and best friend Lucy…” She pulled out her phone and made a show of looking at it before putting it back in her pocket and glaring at Alex. “No, I’ll wait til it’s a world-ending emergency. Hmm…I guess the only thing left to do for fun besides shooting is fucking.”
For a moment Lena looked like she might bolt, but she finally seemed to give in with a nudge from Lucy. “We should be sure to do it right by the big bay windows when we know Kara’s visiting—make sure that she’s far too scarred to do anything fun all day.” Lena threw an accusatory glare over at Alex and Maggie, who looked appropriately bashful.
“End scene!” Lucy yelled, loudly clapping until everyone else caught on. “Unless we wanted to turn this into an NC-17 version…no? No takers? Not yet? That’s cool.” With a flourish, Lucy reached back into her hat and pulled out three more cards: “Next up will be Winn and Kara, and they’ll be playing Sanvers at the bar.”
After a few moments, Kara and Winn took their places at the front of the room, both of them grinning.
“Who’s whom?” someone yelled out.
“Obviously I’m Alex. I’m taller, duh,” Kara answered, earning a cheer from Alex.
“Hey, Danvers! Come try this whiskey.”
“Oh, my favorite! It’s totally something normal people drink, and isn’t at all purposefully dark and broody.”
“Nope, not at all. I sure like that leather jacket,” Winn complimented, even going so far as to tilt his head to the side to take it in.
“You too. Love that you’re also in skinny jeans and a leather jacket.”
“But it’s not like we’re matching, and my reaction of threatening Winn when he suggested it was so totally appropriate.”
“Threatening Winn is my favorite pastime! Maybe we should play pool? I love how no one else in this bar literally every approaches our table.” Kara shot a glare at Alex, remembering the one time she had tried playing and been shooed away.
“Ah yes, it’ll be fun to act like I could ever have a shot at winning.”
“I heard Maggie won in other ways on that pool table!” Lucy yelled out, cackling at the way Alex rounded on her and the bright pink flush that colored both Winn and Kara’s cheeks.
“End scene!” Lena yelled, figuring neither Kara nor Winn would go anywhere near the topic now that they knew it could all be turned into double entendre.
A short break and a few drinks later, Lucy dragged Alex and Maggie’s chairs up to the front of the room for all the newlywed questions she’d rejected for the family-friendly shower version. “Audience participation is firmly encouraged,” she added with a wink. “We’ll start off easy.” Alex let out a sigh of relief. “When’s the last time you hooked up?”
“Lucy,” Alex hissed. “What happened to starting off easy?”
“This should be straightforward.”
“Traitor.”
Eventually Lucy coaxed Alex into writing something down and got her to move it far enough away from her chest to let Lucy read it aloud: “Today.” She nodded in appreciation before turning to Maggie. “You in agreement?”
Maggie spun her board around: “This afternoon.”
“Extra points for the specificity, Sawyer! We’re gonna get along so well.” Maggie grinned at that. “How long did you wait until you slept together for the first time?”
At least Kara already knew the answer to this one, Alex thought as she spun her board around: “3 weeks.”
“Maggie?”
Biting at her lip, Maggie flipped her board: “2 weeks.”
“Interesting…you both seemed pretty secure in those answers. What exactly did ya do at two weeks?”
Thinking back to what had happened at two weeks, Alex flushed a deep shade of red and clamped her hand over Maggie’s mouth. “Nothing! I misremembered the date!”
Lucy looked like she desperately wanted to push for more information, but she figured she’d wait until after the wedding and get Alex a little closer to drunk before she asked. “Alright, we’ll let it go…for now. Next up, which of each other’s friends do you find most attractive?”
Encouraging the crowd to sell themselves, Lucy cackled as winks were directed at the brides to be and countless kisses blown in their direction. Lucy even played a few bars of music to try to encourage James to take his shirt off. Even if they weren’t together anymore, she could still appreciate the aesthetic.
“Alright, ladies, reveal those answers!”
Alex flipped hers over: “I only have eyes for Maggie.”
“Aww, babe, that’s so sweet.” Maggie leaned over and kissed Alex, earning a chorus of cheers.
“What about you, Maggie? What’d you put?” Lucy yelled, noticing her sliding her board away.
“Oh, uh, same answer!”
“Let’s see.”
“No need!” But Lucy moved fast enough for Maggie to swear she could have been Kryptonian too, snatching the board from her before she could erase her answer. “Oh, Detective, you could have just said so…” she trailed off, fluttering her eyelashes as she spun it around to show the crowd her own name scrawled on the board.
“Fuck off,” Maggie grumbled.
“Only if your fiancée agrees to it too,” Lucy teased, jumping up and back off the stage as she took off, Alex hot on her heels. “This your way of saying yes, Danvers?”

Milan Fashion Week Fall 2019: The Top Trends, Themes & Fashion Moods.
Elegance, brutalism, belt purses, cinched waists, relaxed power suits, grunge and masks that conceal and reveal: these are just some of the trends, themes and fashion moods that inspired the Milan Fashion Week Fall 2019 collections. Let’s take a closer look…
Plus don’t miss what our editors spotted at New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week for fall 2019.
 The New Age of Elegance:
As a counterpoint to the IDGAF street-style sensibility, designers explored an understated and fluid expression of elegance that felt fresh and liberating.

Backstage Steffano Gabbana told the Guardian that he would like to “turn the page” and teach the new generation about timeless elegance. “I don’t know if it’s wrong or good but this is our point of view … fashion is the mirror of the times [reflecting] what is outside – sometimes we get it right, sometimes not.”

1/11
Fashion Politics
This season it was about romance and fear for Miuccia Prada. “In the sense that the two forces I feel at the moment are fear and danger, but at the same time romance is the solution. So these are pieces of love stories, introducing good in a world that has a lot of bad,” she told reporters in a scrum after the show.
2/11
Fashion Politics
Romance with a punkish protective twist was also seen at Act N1.
3/11
Fashion Politics
Francesco Risso’s Marni woman was wrestling with giving into guilty pleasures. Risso called it a “neuroerotik” duality that came with an unexpected kinky twist.
4/11
Fashion Politics
There were plenty of sensual, softer offerings at Daniel Lee’s runway debut for Bottega Veneta, but this look tapped into a collective yearning for protective gear in dangerous times.
5/11
Fashion Politics
Protection was also at the heart of the collection Simone Rocha created for Moncler. She said she imagined these were clothes that Girl Guides might wear to protect themselves from nature.
6/11
Fashion Politics
The Gucci show, which took place in a mirrored dome lit by pulsating strobes of light, was inspired by views on totalitarianism expressed by philosopher Hannah Arendt. Alessandro Michele was also inspired by Arendt’s take on masks, which she felt people wore for protection and deception.
7/11
Fashion Politics
Marco de Vincenzo brought his own seductively twisted take on femininity in complicated times.
8/11
Fashion Politics
Alexandra Moura’s collection was quirky with a slightly menacing sensibility inspired by fantastical beasts and monsters.
9/11
Fashion Politics
Alessandro Dell’Acqua of N21 said he was inspired by Brian De Palma’s 1980 film Dressed to Kill. He created a noirish take on sexuality where the woman was in charge.
10/11
Fashion Politics
Donatella Versace’s 90s punk-like collection was meant to challenge our fascination with the perfection-obsessed Instagram worlds we create. In press interviews she made the cultural declaration that “imperfection was the new perfection.”
11/11
Fashion Politics
Jeremy Scott’s Moschino game show was seen by some as ironic commentary on society’s fixation with possessions and wealth.
Suit Up!
Call it the Pelosi-effect: designers offered women grownup suiting options that are timeless, inclusive and exquisitely crafted with a modern and relaxed silhouette. Other designers at Milan Fashion Week Fall 2019  added a touch of punk as well as oversized and exaggerated shapes to layer in a creative twist to biz-wear.

History Lessons
Many designers were in the mood to look to the past to redefine their future. The results, which were inspired by archival references, historical muses or experiences in their private lives, are sentimental, sexy and inventive.

History Lessons

9/11
History Lessons
The clavicle-baring necklines at Bottega Veneta were inspired by 16th century portraiture.
10/11
History Lessons
Nicola Brognano was imagining a modern day Marie Antoinette when she designed this collection.
11/11
History Lessons
Paul Surridge took the Roberto Cavalli classic tiger print and transformed it into an abstract pattern that was modern and unexpected.
