I saw this artwork and it reminded me about my headcanon:

Normally Barnaby has no problem waking up and getting out of bed early because he likes having plenty of time to get ready without rushing etc.. and he isn't a big fan of sleeping in, even on his days off. Alone, sleep is just a way to recover energy and nothing more; plus, he often has to deal with nightmares so it's not something he specifically enjoys.

But whenever he spends the night with Kotetsu, he becomes the opposite; sleeping a lot more soundly, reaching out and trying to pull Kotetsu back into bed for more cuddles when he tries to get up, whining for five more minutes, and just being an overall grumpy bun about the whole getting up thing. Kotetsu finds this hilarious and while he also enjoys morning snuggles, he will try to think of creative ways to bribe Bunny to get out of bed.

Kotetsu on the other hand normally hates waking up early and is a disaster in the mornings on his own, hitting snooze until the last possible minute and metaphorically (or actually) running out the door with toast in his mouth.

But when he spends the night with Barnaby, he loves making sure that he can get up early enough to spoil him with a proper breakfast, and enjoys having a few moment of quiet time together before they start the day. He cherishes time spent being awake with Bunny because he doesn't know what their day might bring, and adores being awake to experience the quiet moments sitting together with his partner.
