I love that Hunter wasn’t saved by just one person and that all the responsability of helping him wasn’t put on just one person. It is common that characters like him are helped by one person or maybe a small group of people, usually the protagonist. We all thought Hunter was going to be adopted by Eda, then Darius, but the truth is he was helped by a lot of people

Obviously Luz was the first to help, and without her I have no idea where Hunter would be right now. She’s the first person who offered him compassion, who offered him a hand, and who helped him see things differently. The first one who actually saw him as a 16 year old boy who can be so much more than what he was at the moment they met. They bonded over not having magic, and Luz was the one with him when he learned he was a grimwalker and that Belos had been lying to him all his life

Then we got Amity, who could have helped more and connected with him over their respective abuse, but Hunter attacked her shortly after she tried to help him. Still, the things she said to him surely resonated with him a lot and I’m sure that helped

Then we’ve got the Emerald Entrails, but especially Willow and Gus, who both had a very important role in Hunter’s life. Willow understood him because they were both considered half-a-witch and had been underappreciated and she’s definitely the closest person to him right now, being the one who feels the most for him and seemingly the one who cares the most. And Gus connected with him during the Labyrinth Runners episode where they both helped each other during their respective anxiety attacks, and now they are good friends and even have a cool high five

There is Darius, who helped Hunter question his place in the Emperor’s Coven and question the things that he’s doing. He pushed Hunter to have a life outside of the coven and to actually make friends, and we know they reunited offscreen too

There’s Bump and Hexside, who accepted him and listened to him and are helping him defeat Belos. They heard what he had to say and gave him a place to stay

Heck even Flapjack helped him a LOT, he had this little palisman who chose him and stayed with him and has been protecting him all this time

So in conclusion, Hunter has found a lot of people who care about him, a lot of people who have helped him get out of his situation and to move forward, and they all helped in different ways but they’ve all been really important in his journey

the NYCC clip has me has given me so much brain juice!!!!

They all act EXACTLY how would expect them to and having confirmation that we're getting a start right in the aftermath (even tough the synopsys already confirmed that) is SOOOOOO much reassuring.

Camila getting all prepared for them to let them stay for the night while also being a little confused on what to do? Mom energy is overflowing!

Gus being a dork for human stuff while hunter is his usual akward self is so cute!

And Vee explaining them how the human world works? FANTASTIC! Also, can we talk about Amity and Willow having a bad reaction to the alarm clock?? why is that a thing? i honestly dont remember.

Im just a bit scared about hows Luz doing since we dont see her in the clip. Is she ok? Is she passed out? Is she crying in the bathroom?

I just need to quickly talk about Alador because some of you are getting this completely wrong. Yes, he was also a victim of Odalia’s control and manipulation, and he has finally decided to stand up to her and redeem himself. But he was a bad dad. We can’t deny this. He actively hurt his kid, and he also hurt them by letting Odalia abuse them and not stopping her until now. He wasn’t good, this is made clear, he’s made mistakes. And it’s really good that he’s now willing to really get to know his kids, he is protecting them, he is leaving Odalia. But this doesn’t mean he was just another poor victim who did nothing wrong and that all the harm he caused his kids was because Odalia forced him to be that way

Odalia’s treatment towards Alador can explain some of his behavior, but it is in no way an excuse. He participated in the mistreatment of his kids, and he is awknowledging this and doing his best to make things better. I wish fans stopped trying to excuse the bad actions of every character instead of just...admitting they were bad and that they are responsible. A character doesn’t need to have a million excuses that justify their actions just to be able to redeem themselves. It’s the opposite actually, they should take full responsability and hold themselves accountable, not try to justify themselves, and from there they can redeem themselves and do better
