Department One: Apparel And Jewelry
What are you wearing today?  Just a white duster dress. Very loungewear-y, hahaha. I didn’t feel like wearing shorts today.
What does your favorite shirt look like?  At the moment I’m obsessed with my Vante shirt. It’s fanmade but it was made tastefully; the designs aren’t too loud and I love the cute little shoutouts and tributes to his past paintings, so it had been a ridiculously easy decision for me to want to buy it.
What kind of underwear do you prefer wearing?  Eh I don’t really have a preference as long as I don’t find them uncomfy.
What are your favorite kind of jeans?  I’m definitely still stuck in my mom jeans phase. Idk man, I just love how they match nearly all kinds of tops.
What do the last pair of shoes you wore look like?  They were adidas sneakers. Not a big fan of chunky shoes but it’s an Ivy Park and it was on a big discount HAHAHA so I didn’t hesitate to get them.
How many shoes do you own?  A little more than 10. I love shoes and wanna collect them someday...just not today, hahaha.
How much jewelry do you own?  Not too big on jewelry; most, if not all the ones I wear are just borrowed from my mom since we share the same style anyway.
Do you own any real diamonds or other expensive jewelry?  Yeah, the ones I would borrow from my mom are pretty pricey.
Has anyone ever gave you jewelry as a present?  Yes, I received rings and necklaces from my ex. One of my aunts also gave me a necklace when I turned 7.
Do you like diamonds or gemstones better?  I just stick with diamonds...which is...also a gemstone too, if I’m not mistaken.
Silver or gold?  Silver.
Department Two: Electronics
Do you have a DVD player in your car?  Not in mine, but we do have one in the family car. I used to watch movies on there often but after one grueling road trip where my motion sickness acted up, I haven’t wanted to use it since.
If you have one, what does your camera/camcorder look like?  I just use the camera in my phone but back in the day I used to have a DSLR; that was when I thought I wanted to take up photography, heh. It was a Nikon D3100.
How much did it cost?  I’m not sure since my dad gave it to me as a present, but a quick search told me it would’ve cost him around P20,000 which issssss wow more expensive than I thought.
What kind of cellphone do you have?  I have an iPhone 8 with an LCD screen that’s deteriorating by the day HAHA. I really need to get a new phone.
How often do you send texts?  I text just for work purposes now, so it really depends on how busy my accounts are. Some days would require me to send out more texts than usual.
Do you have your own computer or does your family share?  I have my own laptop. My workplace also provided me with what’s supposed to be my work laptop, but they had it sent to me when I was already a couple of months into my job and all my needed files and programs were already in my personal laptop. Since I was too lazy to start everything all over again, I’ve never actually used the work laptop haha.
How many computers are in your house?  We have three laptops in total - my siblings and I each have our own. Kind of a necessity these days.
Do you still have a VCR?  I don’t think so.
How many DVDs do you own?  We probably have around 30-50 but most of them are movies from like the 2000s that we just haven’t thrown out. Personally, I have about five DVDs of old films like Gone with the Wind, Rebel Without A Cause, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, etc, and recently I’ve been buying BTS merch so DVDs are part of that mix too.
Does your car have a GPS?  No. I use Waze on my phone instead.
What kind of iPod/MP3 player do you have? Haven’t used an iPod in like a literal decade. I use Spotify for my music.
How many songs are on it?  Spotify doesn’t work that way since it’s technically a database of songs.
What size is your TV?  Never bothered to ask/check.
How many TVs are in your house?  Four. Living room, dining room, master bedroom, my brother’s room.
What video game systems do you have?  We have a PS3 and PS4.
What about handhelds?  Switch. I believe my sister also still has her DSi stored somewhere.
How many video games do you have?  Probably somewhere around 50-60. My dad and brother are content with repeating their games lol.
Department Three: Home
What kind of shampoo do you use?  It’s a Dove variant but I’m just blanking out on the specific name/what it does.
Soap or shower gel?  Shower gel.
What does your comforter look like?  It’s pretty colorful and has geometric shapes and lines.
Does it match your pillows?  Yep, they come in a set.
What size is your bed?  Twin.
Do you or your parents like to decorate the house with various things or is it plain?  My mom puts considerable effort in decorating the house but it’s nothing overboard that it feels tacky. There’s enough decor in enough spaces.
Does the furniture in your house match?  Sure. I imagine my mom would be very irritated if she felt something was uncoordinated at home.
What does your couch look like?  It’s a gray L-shaped couch. Gabie broke a portion of the couch’s springs when it had only spent its like first two weeks at home but surprisingly my mom has not noticed it yet; probably because she barely sits on that side.
How many does your dining room/kitchen table seat?  It has six chairs, though since we’re five one of the chairs is almost always unoccupied.
Do you have any fancy china?  No, my mom isn’t the type to collect those.
Do you have outside furniture?  Yeah we have a table and chairs up on the rooftop, if they count.
What do your curtains look like?  My siblings and I have pull-down blinds. The other rooms have these pulled-back gold curtains that’s accompanied by white sheers.
Department Four: Grocery
What kind of bread do you get?  Sliced white bread, always. Sometimes my mom will pick up pan de sal, but she gets those from a certain bakery and no longer the grocery.
What is your favorite kind of cake?  CHEEEEEEEEEESECAAAAAAAKE.
Do you get a lot of sweets from the grocery store?  Eh, nah. Not a big fan of sweets.
What kind of soda is your favorite?  Don’t like soda.
Do you drink juice? What kind?  I can take it or leave it. I wouldn’t buy it for myself.
What is your favorite chewing gum?  Doesn’t matter to me. The flavors last for only like a minute anyway.
Do you usually get candy from the check-out aisle?  Nah. Those are far more accessible so who knows who could’ve touched or tampered with them. Plus, I mentioned I don’t like sweets.
What is your favorite soup?  Miso or cream of mushroom.
Have you ever had soup when you were sick?  No. I don’t enjoy hot beverages/liquids very much so I doubt I would feel comfort from soup when I’m sick.
What are your favorite canned vegetables?  Not sure if it’s a cultural difference thing but canned vegetables kind of sound gross and I don’t think I’ve encountered those (I actually had to look it up lol). My parents always buy fruits and veggies as is.
What do you eat for breakfast?  Fried rice is a constant but my mom switches up the set of viands every time. Some of the meals she serves would be hotdogs, eggs (either scrambled, omelette, fried, or sunny-side up), corned beef, dried fish, hashbrowns, luncheon meat, tapa, and Vienna sausages. Poptarts or toaster strudels?  Poptarts. I’ve never had toaster strudel and I’m honestly not sure what that is.
What salad dressing do you prefer?  Spicy mayo.
Ketchup, mayonnaise, or mustard?  MAYONNAISE. I can live without the other two.
What kind of cookie do you like best?  I only ever eat chocolate chip.
What kind of snacks do you get at the grocery store?  Salted egg chips or Pringles. Not a big fan of snacks either. This survey is making me realize I’m way more into full meals than anything else.
Do you get the meat from the deli?  Er, we don’t have delis here. Too fancy a concept lmao. If we have them, they are most likely in those extremely upscale, boujee neighborhoods.
What is your favorite frozen dinner?  I mean my dad buys frozen meat, fish, etc, but the frozen dinner sets that I see in American culture, which I’m guessing is what’s being referred to in this question, are not common here.
Do you prefer frozen dinners to actual cooking?  I honestly can’t imagine how it’s filling, but then again I’ve never tried it. Personally, food made from scratch is still the best.
What is your favorite kind of pasta?  Fettuccine.
Do you eat meat? And if not, do you eat vegetarian meat?  Yes, I eat meat. I get vegan options if they’re accessible and affordable, but those choices are hard to come by here.
What is your favorite fruit?  Avocado is really the only one I’ll give a pass to. Everything else tastes horrible.
What about vegetable?  Broccoli, bell peppers, green beans.
Department Five: Health And Beauty
What kind of makeup do you normally use?  None. If I absolutely have to put on makeup, I will begrudgingly put on foundation, maybe some eyeliner, and lip gloss. And they will all most likely be borrowed from my sister.
Do you wear more makeup on special events?  Not necessarily.
What is your favorite makeup brand?  I wouldn’t be the right person to ask because I would just say none of them.
Do you use any acne products?  Mmm no, I just splash water on my face, really. I actually got into a conversation about skincare with my co-workers yesterday and besides the usual shocked experessions I get when people find out I don’t use products, they recommended I at least get moisturizer and sunscreen. Idk, let’s see but historically it’s been hard to convince me to invest in skincare haha.
What kind of perfume do you use?  I have one of Beyoncé’s perfumes, Heat Rush. I don’t actually know if that’s still in production but it’s been my staple for like a decade or so now.
Have you ever been on a diet?  No. I never really had to be on one.
What products do you use in your hair?  Shampoo and conditioner.
How often do you brush your hair?  Only when I have to leave the house or have an important virtual work meeting.
What do you take when you have an upset stomach?  Nothing. The toilet usually solves that for me lol.
Do you take any prescription medicine? Nope.
Department Six: Movies, Music, And Books
What is your favorite movie of all time?  It’s been Two for the Road for a solid nine years and it doesn’t look like anything’s on its way to dethroning it anytime soon.
What genre of movie do like best?  Drama. The more realistic it is, the better.
What was the last movie you watched?  It’s a Korean film called Be With You. I liked it and I cried waterfalls, but the ending was so rushed it was kind of disappointing.
What was the last movie you purchased?  I don’t buy movies. If I wanted to see a film I’ll check if Netflix has it, then if they don’t I just try to scour one of those illegal movie streaming sites that always happen to have thousands of pornographic ads hahaha.
What is your all time favorite band? Paramore. Do you still buy CDs?  Only from artists I’m an extremely huge fan of. Right now that would be BTS, so I’m catching up on all the albums they’ve released in the last eight years.
What was the last CD you bought?  I got the Butter album set, if that counts. If it doesn’t, the last full-length album I purchased was Dark & Wild.
What was the last song you listened to?  I think it was Permission To Dance.
What is your favorite book?  I haven’t found it yet.
Do you even like reading?  I used to love it a lot more, to the point that back in grade school I was known as always having a book in my hand. I just don’t know where that passion went.
How often do you read?  Nearly never. I mean...I do read fanfics, I guess; but I won’t count those.
Department Seven: Sports And Fitness
Do you own a bike/scooter/skateboard/etc.?  We do have a bike at home, but that doesn’t mean I know how to ride it. We don’t have the other two.
How old were you when you learned to ride a bike w/o training wheels?  I still don’t know how to last on a bike without training wheels heheh.
Have you ever been camping?  Nah.
How often do you work out?  Nope but at work my boss just started another fitness challenge, so I’ll probably have to get back on working out soon just because I would want to accomplish the challenge.
Are you in good shape?  Sure, I think so. I’m not like fit fit because I neveeer exercise haha, but I also don’t make it a point to constantly eat unhealthy foods or have an unhealthy lifestyle to the point that it affects my body.
Do you go to a gym?  I do not. I thought of getting a membership at the start of the year but I’m glad I didn’t push through with it because all the gyms are still closed anyway.
Have you ever been fishing?  No. Idk if it’s my kind of pastime or not.
Have you ever been on a boat?  Yeah. My country has like 7000 islands so I was bound to get on a boat at some point in my life haha.
Can you play golf?  Never seemed interesting to me so no. Even on Wii Sports I barely picked golf.
Ever rode on a golf cart?  Yeah, in resorts where we had to ride them to be taken to our room.
Would you ever go hunting?  That’s an easy no.
What is your favorite sport?  Pro wrestling or table tennis.
Ever played on a sports team?  No, my school didn’t have a table tennis varsity.
Department Eight: Toys
What was your favorite toy as a child?  Cash registers because I liked the buttons. Also Play-Doh sets that had those contraptions that would squirt out the clay in various shapes.
Do you still play with toys?  Well, no.
Do you collect any toys?  I don’t, but I’m not opposed to start buying Funko Pop figurines of people or characters I’m interested in.
Did you ever have building blocks?  Sure, but I was never creative enough for them.
Did you play with dolls?  No.
Barbies or Bratz? Which were better?  BRATZZZZZZ
What is your favorite board game?  Scrabble.
Do you like to do arts and crafts?  Hell no.
Do you think that kids now have it better than when you were young? For sure, but isn’t that kind of the goal?

Lost in the Lights Ch.4 | Brittana
Posting early today since the Steelers game has been postponed so many times I've lost all concept of time LOL. Anyway, I get a real kick out of everyone that mentions they're a Steelers fan in their reviews. Wave that Terrible Towel for me too (I left mine in American, such a rookie mistake).
Also Happy late Thanksgiving, hope everyone had a safe holiday with lots of laughs.

It’s Wednesday morning and Brittany’s walking with Kurt to their first class of the day when McKinley High’s mascot comes running down the hall at them. They barely get out of his way in time as he continues whooping down the hallway. Students around cheer but Brittany just stares blankly, trying to understand what that was all about.
“That guy does his Spirit Run every year around this time,” Kurt explains.
“Spirit Run?”
“Yeah. It’s really just an excuse for him to run around the halls like a crazy person,” Kurt says, “You’ll probably see it again at least three more times this week.”
“You guys really go all out here,” Brittany mentions as she and Kurt begin to walk again without fear of getting trampled.
“Told you,” Kurt shrugs, “Homecoming is one of McKinley’s biggest events.”
“Small towns are so weird,” Brittany chuckles.
“They are, but I do love a good theme,” Kurt replies then gasps as he turns to her, “Have you given any thought to who you’ll be going with?”
Brittany laughs a little louder, but then stifles it when she sees Kurt look at her in confusion.
“I wasn’t going to ask anyone,” She says with a shrug.
Kurt’s baffled and stops mid-step, “What? Why not?”
“I don’t really have anyone in mind,” Brittany answers simply, “Why? What’s the issue?”
“You have to have an escort, Britt,” Kurt urges, “You’re apart of the Homecoming Court now, you can’t just attend the dance alone.”
Brittany rolls her eyes at how serious he’s making it all sound, “Why not? What’s going to happen to me if I don’t go with anyone?”
Kurt stammers, “Uh…nothing I guess but it’s not something people usually do. You’re pretty popular, Britt, why don’t you use that to your advantage like everyone else here? I’m sure you’d find a date easily if you asked around.”
“Okay fine,” Brittany smirks, “Do you want to go with me?”
Kurt gives her a look, “I’m flattered but I already agreed to go with a group from Glee Club.”
“Well look at that. I tried,” Brittany fakes defeat, “Guess I’ll be going alone then.”
“But –“
“I’ll be fine, Kurt. You said it yourself, nothing will happen to me if I go alone,” Brittany chuckles as she enters the classroom.
Kurt just sighs and follows after Brittany.
\\
The day goes on as usual for Brittany until she arrives to her Home Room class for third bell. It’s one of her favorite parts of the day; half of the bell is spent on studying and using your time wisely before everyone’s released for lunch. It’s kind of her time to wind down from all the info-intake, but sometimes she tries to get a jump on homework so she doesn’t have to do much after practice.
It’s also the class before her final one of the day which she gets to spend with Santana.
She has barely walked through the door when her teacher hands her a note saying she’s needed in Ms. Pillsbury’s office. She recognizes the name from when Santana mentioned her awhile ago, but Brittany frowns as she looks over the note.
“Am I going to miss lunch?” She asks but the teacher just shrugs and tells her to get going.
She doesn’t actually know where the office is so she ends up wandering around downstairs until another teacher spots her for looking lost.
“Hey, where are you supposed to be?” They demand.
Brittany just hands over the note like it’s a hall pass, “I’m not sure where her office is.”
She smiles innocently and it’s enough to have the teacher relaxing. Thankfully they offer to lead the way to where she needs to be without any further questions.
When she finally gets to the office, she knocks gently at the glass. There’s a red-haired woman sitting daintily behind a desk polishing off her stapler with a wet wipe. Kind of odd, but Brittany doesn’t question it as a pleasant smile fills the woman’s face upon seeing her standing there.
“Brittany, hi! Please come in,” She says and motions for the blonde to have a seat, “I’m Ms. Pillsbury, I’ll be your designated guidance counselor and college advisor.”
“Hi,” Brittany nods behind a polite smile as she goes to sit, “Am I in trouble or something?”
“No, no. Of course not,” Ms. Pillsbury assures her.
Brittany’s only a little relieved by that.
“I’ve been trying to make my rounds in meeting with all the Seniors just to make sure that everyone’s on track with deadlines for college applications,” She explains, “I have a little information on you from your old school, but I just wanted to check in and introduce myself properly since you’re new here. How are you finding McKinley so far?”
“It’s nice,” Brittany answers softly.
She doesn’t know what it is about the guidance counselor’s office that makes her feel nervous. Maybe because she spent so much time in it at the beginning of the year? She was always being checked on because of her ailing dad, it always made her feel so uneasy.
“I see you’ve been making quite the splash with the Titans,” Ms. Pillsbury says kindly, “It’s great to see a new student getting so involved. I’m sure the team is happy you’re here.”
“Yeah,” Brittany shrugs; she’s not exactly sure how to answer that especially after taking her stance on slushie facials. They work better as a team on the field but there’s still a little tension.
“So plans for college,” Ms. Pillsbury continues once she sees she’s not going to get anything else out of Brittany.
Brittany shifts uncomfortably in her seat, her hands tightening around the spine of her binder. Talking about her future like this always puts her on edge for some reason. She knows her parents – mostly her dad – always wanted her to go to college after high school, so she wants to honor that. She wants it for herself too, but it’s kind of overwhelming sometimes, especially when she feels like sports are the only thing she’s good at.
That’s not true – she’s a whizz in math and science – but does she really want to make a career out of it? She has no idea, it’s probably a good idea that she figure that out soon though.
All she knows is that GPAs are important and hers isn’t the best it could be. Her grades really took a hit when her dad passed away, but she was able to finish her Junior year relatively strong considering everything that happened. Maybe she’ll be okay?
“It says here that you’ve already taken the SATs twice,” Ms. Pillsbury notes, “Your scores are very good.”
Brittany nods again, “Yes, I sat the exam just before I moved here. I figured that I would be too focused on getting adjusted to a new school to study again.”
“That’s smart,” Ms. Pillsbury smiles, “You’re ahead of many Seniors here, it’s nice to see someone taking the initiative.”
“Yeah,” Brittany just shrugs, “I’m hoping that I can get a scholarship for playing football or something. I know it’s kind of a long shot for someone like me. It’s super rare that a female football player gets a scholarship.”
“But it isn’t impossible, I think that’s the important part so don’t doubt yourself. You could very well get a scholarship for your talents on the field,” Ms. Pillsbury assures her, “It says in your file that you’ve had scouts attend your games at your old school: one for the Florida State and another for Auburn. That’s really impressive, Brittany.”
“Thank you,” Brittany blushes. She remembers those game and how nerve wracking it was for her knowing that a win could determine her future – could determine if she were getting into a good school or not.
“I know Coach Beiste is in contact with a few recruiters and college coaches that are more local if that interests you?” Ms. Pillsbury suggests, “Maybe you’ll have some luck there as well? I know she’s quite close to the coaches at Louisville and Ohio State which are both on your list here.”
“That would be so cool, ” Brittany perks up at the prospect.
Now that they’ve moved, she kind of wants to stay close to home if she can. Maybe she’ll be able to get on Ohio State’s radar or maybe Notre Dame? It has been a crazy dream of hers to play college football at one of the top schools in the country, but she doesn’t know if she’s being realistic.
“Very cool,” Ms. Pillsbury smiles, “Well, I don’t want to take up too much of your time during your study hour so if you ever have any questions or just want to come by for a chat, I’m always here.”
“Thanks Ms. Pillsbury,” Brittany grins before heading back to class. It was a random meeting, but Brittany feels surprisingly lighter after speaking with her – like there was this reassurance she didn’t know she needed. It was completely different from the visits that she’s used to.

Although Spirit Week really seems like five days worth of nonsense, there is still the usual schoolwork and practice that Santana needs to focus on too. So after Wednesday’s Cheerios practice, Santana and Quinn head to the Lima Bean to get some homework done before they fall too far behind.
This year, they only have one class together but unfortunately that’s the only class that they’re caught up on. Instead, they grab a circular table by the window and work on their own things in a comfortable silence. Before either of them knows it, they’ve been there for two hours already and have gone through multiple coffees each – Santana’s on her third, Quinn has switched to tea.
Quinn sits back and goes to stretch a moment later, “I think I’m done for the day.”
Santana blinks her weary eyes, “Same. This bookwork on U.S. Government is melting my brain. Let’s pack up and – “
“Wait,” Quinn whispers and holds out her hand to stop Santana, “Look who’s here.”
When Santana follows Quinn’s line of view she instantly looks away at who’s there talking to the barista.
“We never see her here,” Santana comments disbelievingly.
“Right?” Quinn starts to smirk, “This is perfect.”
Since their talk over the weekend, Quinn’s been in Santana’s ear about her progress in becoming friends with Brittany despite Santana telling her to butt out. She’s been trying to explain that she’s not going to all of a sudden ask her over for a sleepover so they can braid each other’s hair and make friendship bracelets. It takes time, especially for Santana considering she’s not exactly the best at making new friends.
And that’s kind of where Quinn comes in.
“I swear to God, Fabray, if you do anything embarrassing I’m gonna – “
“Hey Brittany!” Quinn calls out sweetly, loud enough so that Brittany – and anyone else in earshot – can hear.
Santana goes ten shades redder and sinks low in her chair, “I hate you so much.”
“What?” Quinn questions innocently, “Friends say hi to other friends when they’re out in public so don’t be rude.”
Santana lets out a sarcastic laugh, “Bullshit. You and I both know what you’re up to.”
“I’m not up to anything. Just be normal,” Quinn whispers out quickly, “She’s coming over.”
Be normal, Santana thinks as she stifles another laugh. How can she be normal when Quinn is yelling out this girl’s name from across the café like they’re best friends? They’ve talked maybe twice and it wasn’t much of a conversation but rather just greetings exchanged.
It’s like Quinn’s just trying to embarrass the crap out of her.
Santana tries to keep a straight face in hopes that the blush fades soon. Hopefully her tan complexion is enough to mask her embarrassment.
“Hey guys,” Brittany greets casually, “How’s it going?”
Quinn looks to Santana to see if she’ll answer. She rolls her eyes when she sees that Santana’s just giving her a death glare instead.
“Going well,” Quinn replies first, “Did you just get out of practice?”
Brittany sighs tiredly and goes to brush her hair behind her ear, “Yeah. Very tiring, but that’s why I’m here. I’m so close to a nap but I still have a ton of homework to do by tomorrow. Looks like you guys do too.”
Santana remains weirdly silent so Quinn gives her a subtle kick from under the table, “So much, but we’ve just finished up. Santana and I were actually just talking about tomorrow’s Spirit Day. Right, Santana?”
Santana gives Quinn one last narrow of her eyes before she’s putting on a smile, “Right, Quinn.”
“What is it again?” Brittany asks as she looks to the brunette with her pretty blue eyes.
Santana’s breath catches before she croaks out, “Crazy Hair Day.”
“That’s right,” Brittany chuckles before she teases, “Another super original one. Have you got any ideas for what you’ll do?”
Santana feels a little more at ease, “I’m trying to talk Quinn into dying her hair pink.”
Brittany’s brows shoot up as she looks to Quinn, “Awesome!”
“I’ll probably just wear mine down,” Santana adds which has Quinn rolling her eyes.
“Why do I have to dye my hair when all you’re doing is wearing yours down?” Quinn huffs.
“Because,” Santana retorts, “No way I’m doing anything crazy to all of this. Do you know how much these extensions cost?”
Brittany laughs at their dynamic, “I mean, it totally works! You’d look so different without your usual high pony. I can’t wait to see.”
Quinn sends a stealthy glance over in Santana’s direction. Santana makes a point not to look.
“What about you?” Santana asks Brittany, “What are you going to do differently?”
“I don’t know,” Brittany shrugs, “I probably won’t comb it or something. Although, the hair dye does sound pretty cool.”
Santana laughs at Quinn’s eye-roll just as the barista calls out Brittany’s name.
“Oh! That’s me,” Brittany jumps, “I’ll see you guys tomorrow.”
Santana and Quinn say their goodbyes, but once she’s out of hearing range Quinn practically lunges across the table in excitement.
“She was flirting with you,” Quinn points out around a smirk.
Santana looks at her in disbelief, “Where the hell did you see flirting in all of that? Besides, wasn’t the point of all that to make a friend?”
“Come on,” Quinn gives her a look, “It was pretty obvious.”
“You’re delusional,” Santana chuckles.
“And you’re still date-less,” Quinn then sits up straighter, “Wait. I have an idea.”
“I already know what you’re going to say,” Santana shakes her head, “It’s a no. It’s a hell no.”
“You didn’t even give me a chance to state my case.”
“Yeah, because it’s bound to be ridiculous,” Santana replies. She glances over in Brittany’s direction as the blonde goes to sit at a table by herself. Santana pushes away that little feeling of hope before she’s turning back to Quinn, “She and I barely talk outside of class. It would be so weird and awkward, she’d never agree to it. Not to mention that it would be completely predictable.”
“Predictable?”
“Well yeah,” Santana answers like its obvious, “The only two girls nominated that are also – you know – and they just so happen to be going together? No. I’m not going to give this school any more reason to talk shit. I’m not falling for that trap.”
Quinn rolls her eyes, “What are you talking about? What trap?”
“You don’t think this is weird?” Santana questions, “A girl being nominated for King? That’s never happened before. Is it not a red flag for you?”
Quinn sits back again in her chair and sighs, “Honestly Santana, I don’t know what it is. I don’t know if she’s genuinely been nominated or if it’s something else. I don’t think we’re gonna find out until Saturday.”
Santana sighs too, “I just don’t want her to get dragged into all my crap, you know? I don’t want them to mess with her like they’ve messed with me.”
“Yeah,” Quinn nods sadly, “I know but maybe it’s different this time? Brittany’s…she’s a lovely person and really tallented. Who knows, maybe that’s why she’s being nominated? Maybe her being an awesome quarterback and leading the Titans to so many wins has distracted people? Maybe this is real? I don’t know.”
Santana bites her lip. She wishes she could be that optimistic, but she’s been burned too many times. It’s hard for her to see the good anymore. She just hopes for Brittany’s sake that Quinn’s right this time.
“But,” Quinn adds, “What I do know is that Cheerios don’t go to these things by themselves – especially ones that are nominated.”
Santana tenses her jaw. She hates all the social rules she has to follow just because of her status. She hates how popularity is everything in place like Lima. For once, she just wants to be herself but everyone makes it so damn difficult.
Still, she has her obligations.
“If you can’t go with Brittany,” Quinn starts, “Who will you go with?”
She glances one last time at Brittany sitting alone studying before she finally answers, “I’ll find someone.”
\\
And Santana tries valiantly to do so.
Once she gets home from the Lima Bean, Santana lies on her bed and scrolls through her contacts but nothing jumps out at her. Actually, it’s not the fact that no one jumps out – it’s the fact that she can’t bring herself to stoop down to that level again and go with a guy.
She can’t pretend anymore, no matter how bad she wants to avoid it all and go back to how things were a couple years ago where all she had to do was hide behind some guy in order to avoid how she truly felt. No one questioned her, no one doubted if any of it was genuine.
If she were to go with one of the many guys listed in her contacts, she would be doing just that – reverting. She feels guilty just thinking about it, but she knows it would be easier going back on what was said about her rather than actually living up to it.
Honestly, she doesn’t know which is scarier: pretending to be someone she isn’t again or finally owning up to who she really is. She just hates hearing the I knew it or I told you; it makes her feel so see-through, vulnerable. She can’t have that, she can’t have people at this school thinking they know her when they really don’t, but what is she supposed to do?
Continue to hide from the truth? Hope that everyone forgets?
Santana continues to scroll through her phone hoping that maybe she’ll find the answer to all her troubles amongst the boys’ names.
She doubts she will and that’s the biggest problem of all.

The next day, Brittany gets home a little earlier from football practice to find her mom helping Pete with his homework in the dining room. He instantly lights up when she enters the room and rushes over to hug her hips.
“Hey Petey,” Brittany chuckles, “You doing homework?”
“He just finished up,” Whitney smiles lovingly at the pair, “Got every question right.”
“No way!” Brittany gasp and goes for a low-five, “Mr. Smarty Pants in the building!”
Pete gives her an enthusiastic slap to her palm, “Should be rewarded with ice cream, right?”
Brittany’s brows rise and they both look over to their mom as she mimics him, “Right?”
Whitney just laughs, “Don’t you need to shower or something, Britt?”
“Showered at school,” She grins triumphantly.
“You can do that?” Pete looks up at her in awe.
“Totally.”
“Well,” Whitney sighs, “Let’s go then! Tonight’s the Bonfire, isn’t it?”
Brittany nodded as she put down her bag in its usual place by the front door, “Yeah, but it’s not until later. I’ve got time for an ice cream run.”
“Can I go to the bonfire too?” Pete asks as they all make their way outside to the car.
“Mom said no, remember?” Brittany tells him gently as he climbs into his seat, “It’ll be too late for you.”
“Bummer,” He frowns. Brittany gets in the passenger side and Whitney goes to start the car when he asks, “Will Santana be there?”
Brittany’s a little surprised that he remembered her name but answers anyway, “Yeah, probably. Why?”
Pete doesn’t answer for awhile, “Just wondering. She’s nice.”
Brittany nods, “Yeah. I think so too.”
She goes to flip though the radio stations, but Santana’s mention reminds her of how she felt seeing the Co-Captain for the first time that morning.
Like they discussed at the Lima Bean, Santana had worn her hair down. Brittany almost didn’t recognize her, she looked that different. More relaxed maybe? Who knows, but Brittany caught herself staring several times which would’ve been embarrassing if Santana noticed. Her hair was a lot longer than Brittany thought and any time Santana would brush it behind her ear or twirl the tips of it with her fingers, Brittany could smell the scent of her shampoo wafting off of her.
It was super distracting.
That scent was committed to Britany’s memory, because that scent was now Santana. Whenever she caught a whiff of it, Santana’s smiling face popped up in her head. As much as she thought that was really cool, it kind of worried her because she knew what was starting to develop and she couldn’t have that.
Crushes are meant to be on people she might actually have a chance with. Not pretty, straight Cheerleaders who could probably get anyone they wanted in the entire school.
“So are you two going together?” Whitney wonders and Brittany’s eyes nearly bug out at the question, more importantly how casual it sounded.
Is she reading my thoughts? Brittany wonders.
Pete pipes in next, “Yeah, are you?”
Honestly, Brittany never really considered Santana as an option. The girl is probably the hardest person to read and that’s coming from Brittany who is excellent at reading people…on the football field.
If Santana’s somewhere on the spectrum, it would be news to Brittany.
“Uh…no,” Brittany finally answers, “I doubt she’d want to go with me. I bet she has so many guys lining up to be her date though, she’s very popular.”
“How do you know she won’t want to go with you instead then?” Pete wonders innocently, “Maybe she’s tired of going with boys?”
That has Brittany chuckling, “Maybe but I’ll probably just go by myself and meet up with my friends. I don’t mind not having a date, just means I can dance with everyone else’s.”
They seem happy with that answer so the rest of the car ride is quiet aside from Pete singing along with the radio. Brittany just stares out the window wondering if her brother might be on to something about Santana though.
It’s probably a shot in the dark, but the longer she stews on it the more curious she becomes.
\\
Brittany’s always loved Bonfires; she likes the way the smoke lingers on her, the feel of the heat of the flames on her cheeks, how the glow of the fire has this sort of hypnotic effect. She really gets the expression a moth to a flame because she can so relate to the way it pulls you in.
She has seen Mike and Sam around, along with the other guys from the team but she makes a point to stay near the fire instead. It’s a lot colder than it was when she went out for ice cream earlier and she kind of regrets not wearing something thicker underneath her letterman jacket.
It’s not until after Principal Figgins makes a few announcements that she has to gather with the team for their grand entrance. It all seems a bit backwards since they’ve already been mingling for the past thirty minutes, but she just goes with the flow and follows after Kurt until they’re dismissed to join everyone else again. It’s then, that Brittany spots Santana hanging around the chairs she was sitting in before the Titans were called over.
To Brittany’s surprise, Santana sits alone. And like a moth to a flame, Brittany finds herself wandering over without a second thought.
“Hey,” Brittany greets with her hands tucked in her jacket pockets, “Where’s your other half?”
Santana looks away from the dancing flames and blinks like Brittany had just interrupted some deep thought, “Who? Quinn?”
“Yeah,” Brittany smiles as she sits next to Santana, “You two are always together.”
Santana chuckles, “She’s chatting up Mike I think. She’s on the hunt for an escort to Homecoming.”
“I’m sure Mike’s loving that,” Brittany laughs.
“Oh yeah?”
“Totally,” Brittany nods, “He has the biggest crush on Quinn. Don’t tell her I said that.”
“Oh, she knows,” Santana replies, “I don’t know why they won’t make it official already. They’re fooling no one.”
Brittany laughs again and thinks back to all the times she’s overheard Mike talk about Quinn like she put every star in the sky. It’s cute, she thinks, they’re cute. It makes her wonders why they’re dragging their feet if the feelings are mutual.
Her thoughts are interrupted though when she sees Santana shiver.
She’s still wearing her uniform so it’s no wonder why she’s cold but at least she has her Cheerios jacket on too.
“You guys not allowed to wear pants or something?” Brittany asks jokingly.
Santana shoots her a playful glare, “I would’ve worn my warm-ups if I knew it was going to drop 40 degrees. It wasn’t this cold when I got here earlier.”
“I know right?” Brittany agrees as she tries to use the collar of her jacket to cover her ears, “I don’t like it.”
Santana chuckles as she sees Brittany trying to hide further into her jacket, “Okay it’s not that cold. We’re literally sitting by a fire.”
Brittany just shrugs and looks back at Santana. Again, she’s kind of captivated by her. With her hair still down, falling in gentle waves over her shoulder, and the glow of the fire casting shades of burnt orange…Santana’s kind of beautiful.
Crap, Brittany thinks and goes to shake away the thought.
Instead, she goes to ask a question that’s been eating her up since her chat with Pete. Really, she just wants to shut down that nagging feeling of hope in the pit of her stomach and confirm that Santana’s already been easily swept up by some other eligible, more realistic option for a date.
“So what about your date hunt?” Brittany prompts timidly, “You have an escort already too?”
“No,” Santana’s smile falters and there’s just the barest of a crinkle between her brows as she looks back at the flames.
Brittany’s shocked by the news.
“I wouldn’t go with anyone if I could,” Santana mentions quietly, “But it’s kind of tradition that a Cheerio doesn’t go unattended.”
“This school and its traditions…” Brittany sighs with the shake of her head.
Santana frowns, still looking away from Brittany, “Yeah. It’s so stupid.”
Brittany watches Santana, trying to read what’s hidden beneath the surface but she’s at a loss. Santana can be so cryptic sometimes, her walls so impossibly high. It’s hard for Brittany to get a read on her so she just has to ask instead and hope Santana graces her with an answer.
“I take it the hunt isn’t going very well?” Brittany wonders.
“Not at all,” Santana answers with a deep sigh.
Brittany wonders what that is. The way Santana looks is similar to the first time Brittany ever saw her back at Puck’s End of Summer party. She remembers seeing Santana and Quinn sitting by the pool – she’s never seen a girl looking so sad at a party. Back then, she wanted to go over and ask her why she was so sad but that was probably the alcohol giving her a false sense of confidence.
But knowing more of Santana now and seeing her look that way makes Brittany feel kind of sad too. She’s not sure how to console Santana, if that’s even what she wants from someone, so instead Brittany tries to make her laugh.
“Wow, you struggling to find a date?” Brittany teases gently, “There definitely isn’t any hope for the rest of us.”
“Why’s that?” Santana asks with her expression even.
Brittany gulps; maybe she’s making it worse?
“You’re just…” Brittany fumbles for the right words but all she can think of is how Pete described Santana earlier, “You’re nice. It’s kind of hard to believe that someone like you is still dateless.”
Santana looks like she’s about to laugh, “Nice? I don’t think anyone’s ever said that about me unless they’re referring to my ass.”
Brittany begins to feel flushed because well, yeah that too but that wasn’t what she was referring to.
“You are though,” Brittany assures her, “You brought me the work I missed that one time. You assigned a locker to me when Coach Sylvester wouldn’t. You brought me that awesome – but weird colored – juice when I wasn’t feeling well. Not to mention how you handled JBI before I knew who he was…”
Santana just shakes her head though the smile begs to form.
“You’re nice Santana,” Brittany tells her this time.
Santana bobs her head from side to side like she can’t decide if she agrees with Brittany.
“Well, a lot of other people would disagree,” Santana says finally, “I’ve…burned a lot of bridges in the past so nice isn’t going to cut it unfortunately. Pretty sure Quinn nabbed the last available Titan and I sure as hell won’t go with one of the Hockey players. If there are any Titans left they’re either pigs or too gross for me to even consider so that’s that.”
Suddenly Brittany feels her senses heighten and her heart rate spikes, because a thought just crossed her mind and although her head is telling her to keep quiet about it, her heart tells her to go for it. She’s caught in the middle, but then she hears her dad’s voice in her head saying, “You won’t know unless you try.”
So she decides to shoot that shot in the dark and hope for the best.
“What about me?” Brittany offers hesitantly. She feels her heart jump to her throat and it’s taking everything in her to come off cool and casual.
Santana looks at her curiously, “What about you?”
Of course she’d want me to spell it out for her, Brittany thinks with a chuckle.
“Well, I’m not on the Hockey team.”
She can see the moment Santana catches on.
“Last time I checked I was a Titan too,” Brittany continues, “And I don’t have a date.”
Santana blinks at Brittany like she can’t believe her ears, “But…you’re a g – “
“I swear, if you say girl…” Brittany laughs.
“What?” Santana stammers out a laugh too, “You are!”
“Okay, and?” Brittany asks, “What’s that have to do with anything?”
Santana shakes her head and lets out a wry laugh, “Two girls can’t go to a dance together.”
Brittany rolls her eyes at that reasoning, “Who said?”
Santana’s lips part but nothing comes out. Brittany smirks.
“You don’t have an escort and I don’t either,” Brittany explains, “From what I hear, Cheerios tend to go with Football players and since I’m apparently the only Titan without a date still it would make sense for us to go together. Unless you’re considering me one of the gross ones you wouldn’t dream of going with?”
Santana averts her gaze, “You’re not.”
Hope starts to swell within Brittany, “Well then…we’re not really breaking tradition, are we? It’s like finding a loophole. You’re still a Cheerio going with a Titan, it just so happens that we’re both girls.”
Santana takes a moment to reply but when she does, she sounds a lot more nervous than before and Brittany worries that she’s made her uncomfortable by asking.
“I – I’m just…” Santana stutters, “I’m not…”
Brittany waits for Santana to finish but she’s so tripped up on her words that she can’t get anything out. The blonde kind of gets what Santana’s trying to say judging by the look of discomfort and takes the awkward rambling as all the assurance she needs.
“Santana, you don’t have to be gay to go to a dance with another girl,” Brittany jokes trying to lighten the mood.
Santana just stiffens, “Uhm.”
“I wasn’t going to go with anyone either,” Brittany continues to ramble, “Seems like you and I are the only ones that have that in common.”
“Right,” Santana mumbles.
“Yeah so,” Brittany chuckles, suddenly feeling way more nervous than before, “Maybe we can just go together as friends?”
“Friends?” Santana repeats. It seems like she only knows how to say one word at a time now.
“Yeah, friends,” Brittany chuckles, “You’ve heard of them, right?”
“Y-yeah,” Santana stutters.
“Okay, well all of mine already have dates and since everyone wants to put such a big emphasis on having an escort, you’re the only one left that I’d feel comfortable going with. Not that I consider you a last resort,” Brittany quickly amends, “I just thought we could help each other out, you know?”
Santana looks shocked, “Really?”
“Well yeah,” Brittany shrugs. She pushes away the doubt trying to worm its way in. She can’t remember the last time she felt this nervous to go out on whim, “So what do you say? Do you want to go together?”
“As friends?”
“Yes Santana,” Brittany chuckles, “As friends.”
“Okay,” Santana smiles and for a second she starts to act normal again, “Yeah. That’s cool.”
“Awesome!” Brittany beams.
She feels so relieved now and thinks that went a lot better than she thought but she can still sense a little hesitance on Santana’s end which makes her a little nervous. She goes to tuck her hair behind her air just to give her hands something to do.
“So…” Brittany drawls out, “I should probably get your number then? For outfit coordination purposes, you know just so we don’t accidentally match or something.”
When she sees that faint smirk on Santana’s lips, Brittany feels a little better about asking.
“Wow, you always this smooth when getting a girl’s number?” Santana teases.
Brittany instantly rolls her eyes at the sarcasm.
She’s been told that she’s charismatic and maybe a little accidentally flirty, but she honestly isn’t trying anything with Santana. She wouldn’t do anything to make her uncomfortable – she knows what straight girls are like around the not-so-straight ones so Brittany’s always cautious with how she comes off.
Even if her cheeks burn a little, she’s glad Santana still has jokes and decides to make one of her own too.
“Don’t worry, Santana,” Brittany smirks as she hands over her phone, “If I was going to hit on you, you’d know it.”
Santana blushes hard but Brittany just misses it as Santana fishes out her phone from her bra, “Here. Let me get your number too.”
\\\\\
By Friday, word surprisingly hasn’t gotten around that Santana is going with Brittany. She knows she hasn’t told anyone – not even Quinn yet – so Brittany must’ve been staying quiet too. She’s kind of thankful for that, even if she didn’t explicitly tell Brittany not to.
But that isn’t the only thing she hasn’t explicitly told Brittany.
“Santana, you don’t have to be gay to go to a dance with another girl.”
Brittany’s words flash in Santana’s head like warning lights. She doesn’t know why she’s surprised by the statement; they’ve never talked about her sexuality before. Then again, it’s not something she loves to bring up in casual conversation nor is it something she flaunts.
She’s just shocked more than anything that Brittany doesn’t know yet considering how invasive everyone is at school.
\\
Santana’s in the locker room with Quinn getting ready for the Pep Rally when she finally tells her best friend the news.
“So I found a date,” Santana mentions before the rest of the squad joins them, “Well technically, the date found me.”
Quinn perks up, “Who?”
She can barely contain the smirk when she looks over at Quinn, “McKinley’s star QB.”
“No way!” Quinn gasps. A wide smile fills her face and makes her cheeks bunch, “That is so great, Santana. This is happening so much faster than I thought! God, I’m so surprised. Mike told me that she wasn’t going to go with anyone. I wonder what made her change her mind? Wait, what changed your mind?”
Santana wonders that too and a little part of her holds out hope that it was because she told Brittany she was having trouble finding a date. That gets Santana thinking; she couldn’t find a date because she didn’t want to go with a boy – and now the only girl at school that’s an option for her thinks she’s straight.
The fucking irony.
“So there’s just one small problem,” Santana notes without answering Quinn’s questions.
“What?”
“She…doesn’t know,” Santana says cryptically.
Quinn’s confused, “Doesn’t know what?”
“You know,” Santana prompts then goes to whisper, “She thinks I’m straight.”
Quinn’s jaw drops, “Wait. What?”
Santana just nods.
Quinn shakes her head, “No seriously, what?”
“I don’t know,” Santana says as she slumps down on the bench next to Quinn, “Is it weird that I’m disappointed? I mean, I know I don’t smell like a golf course or wear flannel 24/7 but like…really? I thought everyone knew by now?”
Quinn’s at a loss too, “The one time your reputation doesn’t come through for you.”
Santana let’s out a bitter laugh at that and looks to the floor, “What’s the point of being outed to literally everyone in this whole fucking town if I still have to come out to people myself?” Santana feels a lump instantly lodge itself in her throat and it becomes impossibly hard to swallow back. Her eyes feel hot and stingy, “They did it for me once and now that it would actually benefit me, no one wants to say anything? I thought people here loved talking shit about me behind my back? Where are they all now?”
She doesn’t notice that streams of tears have begun to run down her cheeks until Quinn’s wrapping an arm around her. Santana’s vision blurs as the sobs hit her hard. She hasn’t let herself cry about what happened in so long, maybe that’s why she broke so quickly at its very mention? She’s glad they’re still alone though, she’d hate for the rest of the squad to see her like this.
“Santana,” Quinn tries but it’s the only thing she can get out right now. She doesn’t know what to say that’ll make this go away so she just holds Santana upright and keeps her steady.
“I’m fine. It’s fine,” Santana stammers as she takes a deep, shaky breath. When she finally believes her own words, she pushes to straighten up so she can wipe her face.
Quinn looks at her worriedly before she turning away so that Santana can continue to calm herself down. She knows how Santana gets when she fusses over her, so she tries to give her some space.
“I thought I could make jokes about it,” Santana mentions awhile later, “I guess I’m not ready yet.”
“It’s okay,” Quinn smiles apologetically. She waits a moment before suggesting, “Maybe look at it as a positive? Brittany’s one person you get to come out to on your own. You can do it however you want and I’m sure she’d be very understanding.”
That actually calms Santana a little. She thinks about her abuela and how she was the only person she came out to on her own terms and it completely blew up in her face. But with Brittany, she knows it would be different. She knows Brittany wouldn’t shut her out.
“Yeah, you’re right,” Santana nods, “I can control it this time.”
“Exactly,” Quinn gives her a pat on the knee, “Come on. Let’s get you cleaned up. The girls will be here any minute.”
\\
When the Cheerios take to the gym, they do their usual routine of getting the crowd hyped up for Principal Figgins as he goes through with the usual announcements and Fall teams introductions. It’s all business for Santana as she works the crowd – that is until the Titans are called out and she feels something shift.
Brittany leads the team while wearing that award winning smile of hers. The rest of the guys pump their fists and cheer, motioning for the crowd of students to get louder as they spread out and get people amped up for their performance with the Cheerios.
It’s nothing special; the Cheerios and the Titans do something together every year for the Homecoming Pep Rally. It’s usually the same routine since it’s easier for the Titans to follow along when all they have to do is pair off with a Cheerio and groove to the music.
Santana sees the Hockey guys sulking off to the side – no one ever gets that loud when they are announced – and she finds herself smirking at how pissed they look. For a team that sucks so bad and swears that Hockey rules the school, they rarely get any applause that isn’t forced.
Brittany then surprises everyone by doing a no-handed cartwheel and it has the crowd in awe. Even Santana’s jaw drops a little as she watches Brittany stick the landing in one smooth motion before skipping over to stand next to her.
“Impressive, Pierce,” Santana comments as she shakes her pompoms.
Brittany lifts her shoulder as she moves easily to the rhythm of the song, “I use to do gymnastics.”
“Of course you did,” Santana chuckles as she keeps up with the choreography, “Is there anything you can’t do?”
“Recite the alphabet backwards, parallel park, color in the lines…” Brittany lists playfully.
“Very funny,” Santana rolls her eyes. She goes to do a high kick before she’s dancing again next to Brittany, “You ready for the game tonight?”
“Totally,” Brittany nodded resolutely, “Should be fun. Are you?”
Santana lifted her shoulder similarly to what Brittany did before, “I’m interested to see how you do. We haven’t won a Homecoming game in years, so...”
Brittany giggled, “Well, I work pretty well under pressure so...”
Santana smirked as the routine ended, “We’ll see.”
\\\\\
To say that there’s a lot of pressure on Brittany to bring in a win is an understatement. After everything that happened with her stance on slushie facials and the way she spoke so highly of herself when it came to winning, Brittany kind of dug herself a hole. Not that she would take back anything she said – she was very serious when she vowed she could take the Titans to the Championships.
She knows she can, that’s why she’s so confident about it.
It’s just whether or not a select few members of the team are going to get with the program so that they can really start to thrive, because no matter how good she is – one person doesn’t win games.
There’s still Karofsky and Azimio being absolute pains in her ass then there’s Finn with his need to remind Brittany of every little thing that’s never been done purely because no one’s ever tried making any changes.
People here are just so set in their ways – happy to carry on with their so-called traditions although they suck. She can see the subtle changes in others on the team though – like very, very subtle changes – so she’ll take that as progress for now.
\\
The game against the Westvale Wizards ends up being a complete blow out. The Titans crush the Wizards in every aspect; so much so that Brittany started to feel a little bad about the score differentiation.
Home: 28 Away: 3
She doesn’t feel that bad though because she broke many personal records tonight and that’s bound to get some media attention. Not that it’s what she plays for, but her meeting with Ms. Pillsbury has her thinking about scouts and her future. She hopes she’s enough to grab their attention.
Westvale didn’t offer too much competition compared to going up against Carmel High, but a win is a win. It’s just what the team needs for morale and it’s a great way to end Spirit Week and put everyone in a good mood for the Homecoming Dance. Apparently, the last time the Titans won a Homecoming game was nearly six years ago so it’s yet another record Brittany gets to claim as they move on to being 6-1.
\\
After giving out handshakes to the other team, Brittany makes her way off the field for some water and finds Santana lingering by the sidelines along with the other Cheerios. The rest of them are getting packed up but Santana’s just watching Brittany as she draws near.
Brittany sees her holding a green Gatorade cup in her hand and it puts a smile on Brittany’s face.
“Well, you didn’t disappoint,” Santana says once Brittany’s close enough. She hands the cup over to the blonde, “Great game, Pierce.”
Brittany’s smile grows as she sets her helmet down on the bench so she can take the drink, “Thanks. It was a team effort.”
“And always so humble too,” Santana notes with a chuckle.
“Really couldn’t have done it without your amazing cheers though,” Brittany winks just before she nods over at the squad, “Great stuff.”
Santana looks behind her and shrugs, “It was a team effort.”
Brittany can’t help but laugh at that, “Of course.”
Santana can be so damn cute sometimes without even trying – at least, Brittany doesn’t think she is. Really, Brittany can’t understand how she got so lucky with getting to be Santana’s date. Well, not her date date.
Brittany’s pretty sure that’s off the table.
She’s just honored that she gets to go with someone she genuinely likes to be around. It’ll be cool to hang out with Santana in a different setting other than Miss Holliday’s classroom or practice or in passing in the hallways.
Which reminds her…
“So about tomorrow,” Brittany mentions a little timidly. She plays with the paper cup in her hand, “Did you want to meet there? Or I can pick you up if you want? You’ll have to text me your address. Although, fair warning: I’m not very good at directions. The whole in 300 feet turn left thing always confuses me like how am I suppose to know how much that is…” Brittany pauses when she sees Santana start to raise her brow, “I’m rambling, sorry.”
Santana chuckles, “How about I pick you up at yours? I already know where you live anyway.”
Brittany nods, “Okay, yeah.”
“Doors open at 7:30,” Santana mentions, “I can come by around 7?”
“Yeah,” Brittany grins, “That sounds good to me.”
“Cool.”
“Yup.”
“Yo Pierce!” Mike calls out to her from where the team has started to gather for a post-game huddle, “Get over here!”
Brittany tosses up her hand in a wave before turning back to Santana, “Sorry, I better get over there. Thanks again for the drink.”
Santana just nods, the same small smile playing at her lips.
It makes Brittany smile too and for a second it makes her trip up on her words, “Uh…so I’ll see you tomorrow then?”
Santana nods again, “Yeah, text me. Congrats on the win again.”
Brittany’s smile widens before she’s jogging over to the huddle. She wasn’t all that jazzed for the dance at first, but now that she’s going with Santana she starts to feel the excitement build.
Now, she can’t wait for tomorrow night.

Hi my bbs! I’m so in love with this Greece idea. I literally watched mamma Mia yesterday- that is my fantasy. Like the music, the small island, the romance. I love it.
Haha I guess we both have parents who like to be at the airport three hours early lol.
Hehe yes, everybody is just barely awake and just holding onto each other. Security is annoying,- fun story. Every single time that I go through security the machine always beeps and they make me go through that machine and then they always pat me down in the weirdest places like one time they were like we need to pay down your shoulder. What can I possibly have in my shoulder area? I don’t get it. Ryan would probably chirp me when I get beeped but then he gets beeped as well and needs to be patted down lol . It depends on which country you are at, like some securities require you to take off shoes, some don’t.
When i go on trips w my family we check in our bags but since we’d be going solo, I usually have a big carry on and a big backpack lol. I tend to overpack wbu? I need my extra outfits. So after that, we all find the gate and everyone goes their own way. Like you cuddled up w Jamie and being adorable. Kesh is sleeping on Kirby and I’m getting coffee. Hehe yes getting all our passports and getting checked in would be so chaotic . You and Jamie are lucky that Ryan and I are barley functioning yet so the chirps haven’t started. There would be soooo many snacks. Awww Quinner let’s me keep his beanie. Thank you. Also what do you travel in at airports, do you dress fancy or casual?
Hehe Jamie paying Cozzy $50 to switch seats with him 😂 “Dylan come on” “no Jamie I’m comfortable” “I’ll give you 50 if you switch with me” “fine” lol.
Planes usually have TVs on the seats so we will all be watching movies and Dylan and Jamie can cuddle up to you. Awwww. Kesh and Kirby are just in their own bubble #couplegoals. Nobody is bothering them.
Yes brigid, me, quinner and Ryan will be sitting behind you on the flight. Ly. Quinner is immune to coffee so he passes out real quick and since I love his hair I get to play w it :). The rest off the boys have just passed out.
After take off and we have already settled in for a few hours. I’ve realized that the flight from Can to Greece is about 10-11 hours so we are in for a long flight lol.
Okkk so it’s pretty quiet for the first 2 hours and now some of the boys have woken up.
Brigid + dyl+Jamie: at the start both of them are awake and are excited to sit with you for 10 hours. They hold your hand during take off. You start off with watching a movie but in hour and a half in dyl falls asleep, and you see him in an uncomfortable position so you rest his head on your shoulder or lap and play w his hair. Jamie is still awake but is slowly falling asleep but he wants to spend some time with you, but that doesn’t happen for a long time and he passes out as well and you also move him into a comfy position. After a bit, you all wake up for food and are just cuddly together :)) ooo another thought. Jamie trying to braid your hair to keep himself occupied 🥺
Kirby +kesh: since kesh slept in the airport and a bit on the flight she is making sure that Kirby sleeps a bit. So he’s just leaning on her, and she’s watching a movie or something. Just totally chill and taking care of each other. We love to see that.
Then me quinner and Ryan. Since Quinner falls asleep real quick which I don’t mind since he’s cute and I’ve to play w his hair. Ryan and I are just playing a card game lol. We a bit chaotic because we don’t like to lose, but we become quieter once we realize that the boys around us have fallen asleep. Ryan and I unfortunately will be chirping you quietly Brigid. It’s good entertainment. Since Quinner is still asleep, Ryan and I just listen to music together but also get up a lot so we will be annoying each other hehe.
Do you like airplane food? I don’t mind it, but it’s not the best thing ever so hence the mountain of snacks that quinton and Braden have bought. I’m constantly stealing snacks from them since quinton braden and let’s say Dylan or Peyton are in the row behind mine lol.
Hope you enjoy so far. I’ll be doing a pt 3 for when we touch down.
Xo Lexi💗
yes i am so so in love with this idea, like with the small island and the romance. but anywaysss here’s another long post
haha yep everyone’s barely awake and we’re all holding on to each other bc we don’t want to lose anyone lmao. but somehow ryan gets lost and we don’t realize til we’re about to go through security so we have to facetime him to help him come fine where we are. and then once he gets there we can go through security and you get beeped so ryan is chirping you sm, but then he gets beeped too so we both make fun of him for it lmao
i usually barely pack anything, but it depends how long the trip is going to be. but i usually just bring a couple pairs of shorts and a couple tshirts and hoodies and then mix and match them throughout the vacation. plus i’ll be stealing jamie’s and dyl’s clothes the whole vacation so i don’t really need much lmao. anywaysss so then we find our gate and everyone sets their stuff down. and then “quinner how do you have more shit than me? i literally have half my closet” bc you didn’t realize how much stuff he has til he sets it down lmao. and then everyone goes off their own ways, me and jamie and kesh and kirby to sleep, and then you and the guys to get coffee and food. and then everyone gets back with soooo much food and you’re wearing quinner’s beanie and we’re scrambling to get the passports we need so they’ll let us on the plane. haha yes thank God you and ryan aren’t awake enough to be chirping me and jamie yet. personally, i wear super comfy clothes to the airport like a hoodie and sweats (but let’s be real that’s my everyday outfit) wbu?
lmao so then we’re on the plane and me and dyl already sat down and so did dylan c. and then jamie’s just begging him to switch and finally he does by bribing him. so then ofc you and ryan see it bc you’re sitting right behind us so you just start chirping jamie sm lol. honestly i find it so funny that you and ryan are always chirping me bc with my friends i’m always the one chirping them and they never chirp me back lol. anywaysssss yes we’re all just watching movies or sleeping, i’m in a row with dyl and jamie with you, quinner, and ryan behind me. and then kesh and kirby are together and we’re just leaving them alone for once bc they’re the parents of the friend group so they deserve some rest lmao. and then most of the guys fall asleep real fast and the rest are watching movies bc we know it’s gonna be a longgggggggg flight
me+dyl+jamie - so we start off watching a movie, idk what but def some kind of action movie, but since dyl didn’t sleep in the airport he falls asleep pretty quick so then i have to move him to a comfy position to start playing with his hair. and then jamie and i are just chilling together and watching the movie, but he’s starting to fall asleep again and i can tell he’s just trying to stay awake so i tell him that it’s ok and that he can sleep if he wants to. so then i have to move him into a comfy position too, so i have two very large hockey players sleeping on me and i can’t move lmao. hehe and then they finally wake up for food (ofc it’s for the food) a couple hours later but they’re still tired and being all cuddly 🥺 but then they make me rewatch the entire movie bc they didn’t get to see most of it lol. and we’d definitely end up playing uno or poker bc i’m amazing at both of those, like my family refuses to play with me, so i would make them play me. and also jamie braiding my hair bc i taught him 🥰
kesh+kirby - so basically they’re the adorable couple everyone wants to be. like kesh making sure kirby sleeps, and then kirby doing the same later in the flight. and just playing with each others hair 🥺 and they’re watching movies together. i really don’t have much to add on to this one besides that they’re a top tier couple
lexi+quinner(+ryan) - so yeah apparently quinner’s immune to coffee bc somehow even after 3 of them he passes out real quick on the plane. so then lexi gets to play with his hair bc she’s wearing his beanie so his hair’s not covered lol. haha you and ryan getting super competitive and getting super loud playing card games and then i have to yell at you to shut up bc everyone’s sleeping. so then you guys get annoyed and start chirping me instead while i’m just trying to watch my movie lmao. and then you guys start walking all over the plane and annoying everyone lol. i would also be joining you guys once dyl and jamie wake up bc i can’t still more than like an hour lmao
i mean i’m fine with airplane food (again we usually fly first class bc of my dad’s points from work so i think it might be better food?) except the snacks like trail mix and stuff they give you on the plane are amazing. but anyways besides that airport snacks are better. so then you keep stealing snacks from peyton and braden and quinton behind you so then i commision you to steal snacks for me too, and then eventually you get annoyed and tell me to get them myself so then i get the guys to throw them over the seats to me and then kesh has to tell us to stop so the other people on the plane don’t get annoyed lmao
ok yes i loved this sm 💖 so excited for part 3!

Long Dream –Live Remix– (A Side)
Title: Long Dream –Live Remix– (A Side)
Rating: T
Word Count: 7598 total, 3758 this chapter
Characters: Coco, Joshua, Neku, Beat, OMC, OFC
Warnings: Major character death
Summary: Her Magnum Opus nears completion, and as her audience approaches, she hurriedly arranges one final rehearsal.  Elaboration on a pet theory of mine, built out of Final Remix spoilers.
Every day streets are crowded with people
Every night streets are jammed with these noises
Things are so strange, are they real or a dream?
Where am I now, trapped in this city of illusion?
***
Neku surveyed his surroundings.  It didn’t take him long to recognize them.
“This is Cat Street…”
“Yo, finally!” Beat said, running a few steps ahead.  “We can get outta Shibuya from here!  I’m so ready to be done with this crappy Game!”
Neku looked up the street, murmuring, “Unless the way ahead has been rearranged too…”
He tensed a bit as Coco stepped up behind him, the tiny Reaper saying, “No worries fam!  See, the way ahead looks, like, totez clear!  That super tough wall you guys just made it past must’ve been the last challenge!”
Neku’s eyes caught on the café just ahead.  Even in this situation, it still sparked a very complicated emotion in his heart.
“Yo, whatchu waitin’ for,” Beat said, “an engaged invitation?  Le’s go, man!”
Beat took off.  Neku followed at a slower pace, saying, “Hold on!  While we’re here, shouldn’t we ask Mr. H what’s going on?”
The other boy skidded to a halt.  “Huh?  You think the H-Man’s gonna tell us anything?”
“He might.  We have time to spare—it can’t hurt to ask.”
Coco made a face as she walked up next to him.  “Uuuuh, source?  That guy, like, oozes bad vibes.  You should totez just finish the Game!  That’s all that matters, yeah?”
Neku shook his head.  “I still want to know what’s going on.  Out of the people who might actually know, Mr. H is the only one with an address.  We might not get another chance.”
The Reaper rolled her eyes and shrugged.  “I mean, I guess, but like, why risk it?  The finish line is literally right in front of y’all—just cross it and end the Game.  Then if you still wanna talk to Coffee Weirdo, just walk right back in and do it then!  It’ll totez be less stressful once we’re off the clock!”
Beat nodded.  “Yeah, man!  We gotta get this over with either way.  Plus we might get an explanation jus’ for winnin’!  We’ll keep the H-Man as a back-up plan, aight?”
Neku crossed his arms.  “I still feel like this would be less risky.”
“Aw c’mon!” Coco said, skipping down the sidewalk.  “You srsly need to chill, Neku!  Let’s just finish the Game already.  Besidez…while we stand here chatting, the other Players are still fighting Noise and stuff.  Like, uh, Shiki?  Do it for her!”
“Right: Shiki and Rhyme is still out there, Phones!” Beat said.  “We gotta end the Game now!”
With a sigh, Neku grumbled, “…Alright, I guess we shouldn’t keep them waiting.  But soon as we’re done, I’m coming back to get answers.”
The three of them ran down Cat Street, with Coco trailing farther and farther behind.  Eventually she came to a stop, and just watched the boys continue with a wide grin on her face.
“Ugh, finally,” she said to herself.  “This pair was WAY more stubborn than the last, 7.8/10 too much effort.”
Neku noticed they had lost her just as he and Beat ran over the city limits.  The next thing he noticed was pain.  Intense, searing pain, like his entire body was on fire.  Judging by the way Beat had toppled over on the ground, the same thing was happening to him.  Neku fell to his knees as the agony worsened.
“What’s…happening…?!”
Coco slowly approached them, taking care to not actually cross the limits.  “This is fine!  All according to keikaku.  Congratz on winning the Reaper’s Game: Expert Mode!  Oh btw, keikaku means plan.”
Beat cried out suddenly.  Black and red flames consumed him, burning brightly for a few seconds before vanishing, leaving not even ashes in their wake.  Neku’s eyes widened in horror.
“What did you do to him?!” Neku demanded.
“Erased him, duh,” Coco said.  “Though technically wasn’t me, actually my baby that did it.”
“What?!”
“He needs loads of food to grow up big and strong.  I’ve tried, like, a gazillion different things, and the Soul of super tough Players like you two is what works the best by far!  ty so much!”
The pain only grew.  Neku screamed, doing all he could to endure it despite knowing he was failing.
Coco put a hand to her ear.  “Mmmm whatcha say?  Couldn’t make that out.”
It wasn’t long before the flames consumed Neku as well, and then he too was gone.  Coco put her hands on her hips and smiled.  The world around her shifted, wavering like a mirage until it all melted into one swirling void of bluish clouds.  Before her spawned a massive creature: a tapir with purple skin and six tusks, yellow tattoo-like protrusions in the shape of flames erupting all across its form.  Its red eyes focused squarely on Coco.
“Yay!  Look at you, you absolute unit!  You’re, like, so strong now you could body anyone!”
Coco threw herself onto the tapir’s trunk, hugging it tightly—the creature gave a guttural rumble in response.  She could sense its power increasing, and giggled happily as she took a step back.  The tapir lowered its head and nudged her gently.
“Okay, okay.”
Reaching up, she scratched the tapir’s trunk.  It tilted its head and squeaked.
“Aw, who’s a good boy?”
Coco hopped up to the top of its head, lying down so she could reach far enough to scratch behind its ear.  The tapir lifted its trunk and trumpeted happily, then floated up and down in place, jostling Coco only the smallest amount.
“Haha, very good, such cute, wow!”
Soon it settled down.  Coco propped up her head with one hand, continuing to slowly pet the tapir with the other, and let out a long sigh.
“Tapez my dude, I’m, like, so glad I have you.  ngl you’re kinda my bff.”
The tapir grunted, swinging its trunk slightly.  Coco swayed along.
“I dunno when it’s going down…but I’mma make sure you get through it.  You’re one of my peeps too now!  So it’s a legit promise!”
Coco extended her pinky.  The tapir inclined its head a little and flexed its claws.
“Oooooh right.  Well, still totez binding lol.”
She pressed her face against the tapir’s skin, letting her eyes close.
“Aaaaaah, we’re almost there, Tapez.  Should just need, like, another few rounds and you’ll be a prime example of the ideal Noise body!  Though tbh if the next pair is as annoying as this one, totez just gonna yeet them straight into your stomach.”
Her phone chimed.  She opened one eye to look at the screen, and then rolled onto her back and groaned loudly, kicking her legs about in frustration.
“Uuuugh for real?  Fine, whatevs.”  She paused to pet the tapir one more time.  “Sorry Tapez, I gotta bounce.  brb and then we’ll go find you some more treats!”
The tapir squeaked a farewell, and then Coco stood up and shut her eyes again.  Focusing her power, she elevated her Vibe and reached out with her mind to feel for the world she wanted to travel to; after so many times, it was easy for her, and in mere seconds she had concrete beneath her feet.  Opening her eyes, Coco looked up at the skyline of Shinjuku and smiled brightly.
I love my city tbh.
***
Feel the people, hear the voices
They are reaching out to catch you
Feel the rhythms, hear the noises
You are beating all the visions
***
Coco moved through the city at a slow pace.  Shinjuku was a travel hub, a place that was purely transient for most: each moment was fleeting, but each brought something new, something different, and that everlasting tumultuous tide of life fascinated Coco in a way nothing ever had before.  Each second was something wholly unique, and she never wanted to miss even one of them.  She spun around on a corner, taking it all in, and just laughed to herself.
“Having fun, Atarashi?”
Her good mood was spoiled instantly.  She grimaced over her shoulder to see Joshua standing there, looking every bit as smug as she remembered him.
“fml what are you even doing here Kiryu?” she asked, turning around and crossing her arms in a huff.  “Can’t you, like, take a hint?”
“Nice to see you too.”  He raised a hand to his chin.  “Hm.  I’m curious: why is it you hold onto your wings even in the RG?”
Gesturing to them, Coco said, “Aesthetic.”
“…And what aesthetic would that be, exactly?”
“fyi I’m headed to a super important meeting rn so unless you’re finally ready to fite me irl then I, like, don’t even want to hear it.”
Joshua chuckled and brushed aside a lock of hair, which only made him seem even more smug and made Coco even angrier.  “Stimulating as that has the potential to be, we’d both be in quite a bit of trouble with the folks upstairs if we were to have a skirmish.”
“Oooooh good point,” she said as she turned away.  “And I bet you’re, like, already in hot water after the way you went off.”
“Nothing to worry about on that front.  I’ve spoken with my Producer and he assures me the matter has been put to bed.  Things in Shibuya will be staying the way they are.”
Coco spun around.  “WTF?!  You two are out of trouble just like that?  I literally have no words!”
“Hm?  Why, I would assume your Producer has been apprised of the details as well.  Has he not passed them along to you yet?”
There was a short delay, and then Coco glanced aside and grumbled, “That must be why he sent me that txt…”
“I take it you’ve been too busy with your side project to stay on top of the paperwork.”
Coco locked eyes with Joshua.  He was still smug, that would never change, but now there was a deadly undercurrent to his words that demanded Coco’s attention.
“tf are you even talking about?” Coco asked.  “You really need to stay in your lane, Kiryu.”
“That’s rich, coming from you.”
“Explain.”
“Well for starters, I know you’ve been poking around my city.”
“omg!  Tourism is a crime now?”
“Considering our circumstances I believe it falls more under ‘corporate espionage’.”
“It’s totez hilair to me that you consider the UG a corporation.”
“Setting that aside for the moment, there’s also the fact that you’ve been shirking your duties as Composer to jaunt off to an alarming number of parallel worlds as of late.”
Coco smirked.  “Aw, u just jelly I can travel between worlds without needing to call an Uber to get back.”
Joshua shrugged.  “I admit, it’s a skill I’ve yet to master—even my alternate selves seem to have difficulty with it.  One came to call on me recently, you know.  Said something about a bizarre Noise erasing two former Players in his world.”
Yawning loudly, Coco said, “Kiryu can I, like, get a tl;dr?”
Joshua’s face began to darken, the undercurrent gradually rising towards the surface.  “Well Atarashi, it certainly sounds like you’ve been attacking alternate Shibuyas.  If so, that’s something I believe qualifies as ‘in my lane’.  Wouldn’t you agree?”
Coco cackled.  “Pffft omg are u srs?  I am DECEASED y’all, the guy who just tried to wipe his whole city is acting protective up in this bitch!  lmaoooooo!”
Joshua stared hard at her.  “Coco, do think for a moment: how do you suppose the Higher Plane would react to this news?”
“What, are you, like, planning to tell them?  If you’ve got some proof then hmu.”
Joshua didn’t answer.
“lol that’s what I thought, smdh you better sit down Kiryu.  Even if I were, like, messing with parallel worlds or whatevs, why would the Higher Plane even care?  Angels from this world have no jurisdiction there.  It’s free real estate.”
Slowly, Joshua nodded.  “…Alright.  Perhaps you have a point.  Let’s leave the Higher Plane out of this hypothetical.  The only one you need to be concerned with…is me.”
The air suddenly felt very heavy.  Coco actually needed to remind herself to breathe, but she made sure her reaction wasn’t obvious.
“So, Atarashi.  Explain to me why you’ve been killing Neku in so many parallel worlds.  And, do try your best to make it a very good explanation.”
Coco brought her hands up to her face, twisting slightly away.  “lololol I’m confused.  Mad cuz I beat your record?  Or want to make sure I don’t off this world’s copy of Edge Head before you can tell him he’s worthy of your grace?  Honestly?  I ship it.”
Joshua paused.  “Neku himself isn’t the issue here.  But if you’re making a move into my territory—“
“Yeah yeah yeah, cuz you care, like, SO much about your territory!  I am SHOOK seeing you come in here acting like the authority on protecting your peeps!  I could learn so much about my job from watching you!”
“I’m feeling a bit of déjà vu.  I could have sworn I’ve already told you that a Composer’s job is simply to judge their people, and that it is only the existence and boundaries of their respective UG that require protection.”
Coco covered her mouth.  “omg!  Why would you say something so controversial yet so brave?”  She dropped her hands and stuck out her tongue.  “jk obv you’re full of it.”
“I don’t see why I should need to divulge my motivations to you of all people,” Joshua mumbled, “but if you must know…I was under the impression that Shibuya was not worth keeping around.  Now that I’ve seen it still holds potential, I of course have every intention of preserving the seeds that I’ve sown.”
Coco scowled at him, but didn’t speak at first.  Nearly a minute passed before she said, “Then tbh?   I’m not your enemy.”
Joshua’s eyebrows went up.
“It’s, like, only a matter of time before a new kind of Game starts up Kiryu.  Their Game.  And I’m gonna be mad prepared when it does.  If you had literally a single brain cell you’d totez be doing the same thing.”
By the time she was done, Joshua’s eyes had narrowed down to a suspicious glare.  “Surely you’re not referring to the party I’m assuming?”
“Like, who else?”
Joshua stared down his nose at Coco as he considered his next move.  Coco grunted, drew out her phone, and checked her messages.
“My, you truly are impossible to figure out,” Joshua sighed.
Coco gave her best Clearly Fake Smile and replied, “Because you’re an expert at that lol.  I’m nothing compared to your galaxy brain.”
“I think I could do it if not for that absurd…shall we call it a dialect?”
“Uh, this is how people talk now?  Hello?  If you knew anything about people, then like, you’d already know that, but as always you have 0 friends so buh-bye.”
“…Hm.  And, exactly how many friends do you have, Atarashi?”
Coco frowned.
Joshua turned.  “But, alright.  If this is some plan to deal with the Inferno, then I’ll drop the matter for now.  But, one thing I’d like to make clear before I go.”  He took one last glance back at her, eyes full of ice.  “I will not tolerate any interference in this world’s Shibuya.”
He was off without another word.  Coco suppressed the urge to shudder, turning back to her phone and mumbling half-formed syllables as she made herself look busy.  She looked back up to be sure that he was gone, and then sighed and tucked her phone away, gazing over Shinjuku once more as she waited for the tension to leave her body.  It was immediately replaced by joy.
“omg whoops.  Rōjin is totez still waiting orz.”
***
Is it angels?  Is it devils?
Whispering in my ears
Is it emotions?  Is it illusions?
I need to be with you
***
Coco poked her head through the shrine’s gate.  Looking up the path, she could see a bald, tan-skinned man with a stoic face sitting at the building’s entrance, his eyes already locked onto her.  She flinched.
“Uuuuh what’s up gamers?” she blurted as she stumbled forward.  “I know I’m, like, totez late, but I have a tru legit reason for it, get a load of this!”
The man was Seiji Rōjin, owner of the shrine and also Shinjuku’s Producer.  He offered not a single word as Coco hurriedly explained her encounter with Joshua to him.  When she was done, he nodded and closed his eyes; Coco looked around awkwardly for a few seconds, and then took a seat next to him.
“You must leave your Opus be,” he ultimately said.
Coco started.  “Uh, excuse me?  Abandon all my hard work just because that nerd doesn’t want me near his bf?  I think the heck not!”
Rōjin opened his eyes to look at her.
“…Um?  Something else?”
“The Higher Plane demands a Game.”
Coco blinked.  Then she rolled back, digging her fingers into her scalp and shouting, “AAAAAAARGH, srsly?!  I know I haven’t held a Game in, like, forev, but can’t they just let me handle thingz down here?  Please say sike!”
Rōjin said nothing.  As she accepted the reality of the situation, Coco’s heart sank.
“But…Tapez…”  She groaned.  “…Is, like, a teeny bit of faith in me too much to ask?  They know I’ve got mad skillz!  When you taught me how to make Tapez, you said I was one of only, like, three Composers whomst’ve ever been able to control Magnum Opus Noise—they should be totez impressed with me already!”
“The Higher Plane demands more of your position than mere talent,” Rōjin said.  “It demands discipline.”
Coco pulled herself back into a sitting position.  “I am, like, sooo disciplined!  I legit wanted to tear Kiryu’s face off, but I didn’t!”  She got back on her feet as she went on, “Like, sure, this is about Shinjuku, but the whole reason I’m working on Tapez is so he can protect my peeps!  Making sure he’s bad enough to dunk on anyone is literally The Best Thing I can be doing rn!  The Inferno is out there, you know, somewhere, and we dunno when they’re gonna throw hands!  And now I have to take time out of my counterattack schedule to run some basic-ass Game?”
She whirled back to face Rōjin.  He didn’t say anything.  Coco stared at him for a few moments, realizing she was getting a headache.
“…heck.  We don’t really have much of a choice, do we?  If the Higher Plane wants a Game so bad, then like, we gotta pull together a Game.  Tapez will just have to chill for a week I guess.”
Coco put a hand to her head as she trudged past Rōjin for the door.
“Ugh, lemme see, the Conductor obvs needs to show, and we should probably @ all the Officers too.  idk who’s gonna be the GM this week but they—“
The pain in her head suddenly turned sharp.  She paused mid-step.
“…they…”
Her vision blurred, then went dark.  And then she saw Shinjuku again, but it was…different, somehow.  As if viewed through some sort of filter.  She saw the streets, the people, and then a glowing red symbol up in the sky—and then the streets were empty.  Not a single soul was left in Shinjuku.  No, not quite, next she saw one person: a girl who slowly walked forward with a blank look in her eyes.  The girl stared straight ahead, but couldn’t see Coco.  Still, she opened her mouth to speak.
“All that’s left in the world is me.”
Coco gasped as the shrine came back into focus.  At first she was too surprised to make any sense of the event.  But as she breathed, she processed it, and her eyes shot wide as pure dread came over her.
“Uh…a-ah…I…”
Rōjin stood, watching her with furrowed brow.  Coco’s entire body shook as she turned to face him.
“I…I saw it again…!”
She jumped forward and grabbed Rōjin’s shirt.
“It was the same vision!  You remember, right?  From, like, WAY back when I first asked you about Magnum Opus Noise?  I saw it again!  Shinjuku was erased—it was an Inversion!  I-I…”  She looked down as tears started to form in her eyes.  “I haven’t seen anything since that day…why now?  Is…is the Inferno about to attack Shinjuku?  Is that what this means?!  Are we out of time?!”
She felt a hand on her head.  Looking up, she saw Rōjin staring back at her, his face as calm and stoic as ever.  Coco swallowed hard, and then exhaled slowly.
“R-Right…right.”  She managed a chuckle.  “Like, look at me, crying in the club like a little bitch!  Thanks bunchez, Rōjin.”
She stepped away and wiped her eyes on her sleeve.  Coco found herself looking up at the sky, as if to verify what she had seen hadn’t actually come true…at least, not yet.  The same skyline greeted her.  But this time, she just couldn’t feel happy about it.  This time, it made her feel resolute.  She turned back to Rōjin.
“Sorry fam.  But I, like, can’t just sit on my ass and play a Game rn.  The Higher Plane might not be convinced, but I just know the Inferno’s on their way to end my whole career, and I’m not about to take that.”
Rōjin paused.  Then, with a single nod, he said, “Mood.”
Coco giggled.  “omg, you’re, like, literally the worst!”
She left the shrine and made her way back up the street, thinking, Dunno how much more time I have to beef up Tapez.  My boi’s totez strong, but I can’t be too careful, and probs don’t have much time for last minute boosts.  I need to, like, think of how else I can improve his chances…
Her feet slowed, and she looked back at the shrine.
…Hm.  I wonder what she would think?
Coco crossed her arms.
I mean, she’s gonna be totez disappointed there’s no Game.  But like, she’s still my Conductor, yeah?  If I can’t trust her to back me up, then who can I trust?
She turned and got moving again.
At the v least I gotta ask.  Whatever it takes…my Shinjuku is going to survive.
***
Every day noises are killing these people
Every night noises are waiting for me but
Don’t run away, we’ve got no time left to fear
Where are you now, still it’s showing me illusions

How Can You’ll Say You’ll Be Mine? aka Rewrite the Stars Ch. 2
I did the thing lol. Avoided adult responsibilities and wrote another fluffy Toni/Zira chapter. You’re welcome. :D Read here or on Ao3. (Read chapter one here, or on Ao3).
Chapter 2: How Can You Say You'll be Mine?
Pairing: Zira Fell/Antonia Crowley (Aziraphale/Crowley)
Genre: Fluff
Words: 2348 (4211 total)
Summary: This is an AU set after the armageddon-that-didn't. One where Antonia Crowley is a badass viola player in a punk band, and Zira Fell is one of her best friends. They're both obviously pining for each other but neither is brave enough to act on those feelings. Until now.
Go read chapter one if you haven't already, because Zira and Toni are semi OC as well as being based on Gaiman's/Pratchett's.
Notes:So it's been a while since Zira serenaded Toni at that pub show. The pair have been hanging out more and more, which is great, but Zira is having anxiety and FEELINGS and oh NOOOOO.
Mostly fluff. I don't write smut, but you have an imagination. Use it where you see fit. ;)
Enjoy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So...” breathed Toni, her fingers lightly tracing patterns across Zira’s back.
“So...” agreed Zira in an even softer voice, curling even deeper into Toni’s shoulder. Her head lay nestled under Toni’s chin, her cheek pressed to the demon’s chest. The pair was sprawled across Toni’s bed, their bodies touching everywhere possible. Zira had her arms tucked beneath her as she lay on Toni’s chest. Their legs were tangled together beneath the bedding. Each wore a tank top and sleep bottoms.
Toni shifted slightly to try and get a better look at Zira’s face. She felt the angel tense atop her and her hands stilled in their caresses.
“What is it, angel, everything alright?” Toni pressed a kiss to Zira’s soft blonde curls. She watched Zira look down and bite her lip before responding. “It’s just...I know this is going to sound silly. But I’m...I’m scared,” Zira choked out, stumbling over her words. Zira straightened and sat up a little to look at Toni’s face as Toni shifted again.
“Scared? Of what?” Toni gently took Zira’s chin in one hand. “And I would never find what you’re feeling silly,” she said reassuringly, “Well, almost anything.” Toni used her other hand to ruffle Zira’s curls and then cupped her cheeks with both hands. Zira cast her eyes downwards. “You know you can talk to me about anything, right?” Toni murmured gently.
Zira sighed and let out an unintelligble “Mrpgh.”
Toni chuckled. “Didn’t quite catch that, angel. Try again?” Her smile disappeared as she was unable to get an answering smile from the other celestial. Instead, Zira wouldn’t even meet Toni’s eyes.
The angel sat up completely, disentangling their limbs and moving to an empty part of the bed. She sat with her legs crossed and her arms with shaky hands holding her abdomen. She drew as deep a breath as she could manage whilst compressing her body so tightly. She kept her gaze fixed on a detail of the pattern on the duvet until she felt her pulse slow, her hands stop their shaking, and not feel quite as much like the world was ending. Damn anxiety. She’d been native for too long on this planet and picked up some unfortunate side effects as a result.
Zira unwound her arms from around herself, clasping her hands together, and took a deep breath. “It’s just...it took us 6,000 years to get to this point, and-I-don’t-want-to-lose-you...and I’m scared, Toni I don’t-want-to-live-without-you,” She stumbled over her words as they all came out in a rush.
She steeled herself and looked up to find Toni staring at her with a look. She’d been able to convince the demon to take off her ever-present sunglasses, and she found herself caught in those eyes. Those eyes had haunted her dreams, when she’d been able to sleep, for the past 6,000 years. She had them, as well as the face they belonged to, memorized at this point. The expression they currently wore was one full of love and longing.
“Oh, Zira...” Toni breathed.
Zira fought back tears and bit her lip, “That’s me,” she murmured, her voice thick with unshed tears.
Toni crawled over to where Zira sat and caressed her cheek with tender fingers, wiping away the tears threatening to fall. Zira flinched, but remained where she was. She closed her eyes and leaned into Toni’s touch with a shiver.
“Now, you listen to me,” Toni began with mock sternness, “I’ve spent the last 6,000 odd years looking out for you,” this earned a small smile and chuckle from Zira, “And I don’t plan on changing that any time soon. I’m not going anywhere.” Toni brought her other hand up to cup Zira’s face and pressed a long kiss to the angel’s forehead.
Toni drew back, taking the angel’s hands in her own. “Now, I’ll admit, after the armageddon-that-didn’t, I thought we were in a different place.” Toni noticed Zira looking away briefly at this. She continued, “And I suppose we were, but not where I  thought we were.”
Zira’s gaze found its way to her lap. She felt like she should speak up, but the words were trapped in her throat. Her eyes were drawn to the couple’s entwined hands, and finally up to Toni’s earnest face as the fallen angel started speaking once more.
“But that’s okay, angel. Even if you had never expressed an interest in that way in me, I wanted you in my life.” Toni pressed a kiss to the back of Zira’s hand before continuing. “And look at us now! I’m in a band, we have these very cool friends that I’m not even sure where they came from, but I do know I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
“It’s ineffable,” murmured Zira with a wry smile.
“What was that? I couldn’t hear you over the sound of--” Toni’s teasing snark was cut off by Zira.
“I said, IT’S INEFFABLE!” she cried, in a voice a tad louder than intended. She let out a nervous smile and the pair devolved into giggles. When they had sufficiently recovered from the laughing fit, Zira took Toni’s hands into her own once more.
“You have no idea how much I wanted to be with you,” she began, a serious expression across her face. Toni’s eyes took on an earnest gleam, and she nodded softly for Zira to continue. She wasn’t about to interrupt now that the angel had found her voice again. The aforementioned took a deep breath and carried on.
“After...after everything that happened, I really wanted to. But 6,000 years is a long time, and, well, I’d gotten so used to the way things were, and...” she trailed off. Toni’s eyes softened.
“I know,” Toni breathed, cupping the angel’s face with one hand, “And I never expected you to change overnight. You’ve been through so much. Believe me, if I could get my hands on Gabriel...” the demon drew her hands out of Zira’s and mimed a choking motion, among other violent acts. Her eyes grew even more fiery than normal. But when her gaze met Zira’s bright blue orbs, the fire went out. She cleared her throat and dropped her hands.
“Point being, angel, I get it. And we can go as slow as you want. But I’m not going ANYWHERE, I can promise you that,” and with these words Toni watched her angel’s eyes fill with tears once more.
“Oh, hon, don’t cry,” she breathed, gathering the angel into her arms and bringing her head to her chest once more, “I mean, I’m not saying you can’t cry, coz crying is a healthy thing and all...” Toni trailed off and pressed a kiss to Zira’s curls. “Shhhh,” she soothed, rocking a bit and began tracing soothing circles onto Zira’s back.
After a time, Zira’s breathing slowed and her crying ceased. “Hey, do you remember, when we switched bodies, and I asked Michael,” Zira began.
Toni cut her off, “To bring you a towel, yes of course I remember! How could I forget?!”
The angel shifted in Toni’s arms so she was looking up at Toni’s face. “I love you, you know.”
Toni took a shuddering breath. “Yes. Yes, I do know, but it’s still nice to hear.” She smiled, raking her fingers gently through Zira’s hair. She paused in her ministrations and leaned down to kiss Zira, pausing halfway there.
Zira nodded and closed the distance between them. Their lips met and each could taste the salt of tears shed, but it seemed to only make the kiss that much sweeter, because of what they had worked through between their last kiss and this. Toni deepened the kiss and received a quiet moan in response. She smiled against their joined lips and tangled one hand in Zira’s hair, wrapping her other arm around the angel’s back.
Zira pulled back briefly, to an answering whine from the demon at the lack of contact. She smiled and reassured Toni with a laugh, “My dear, I’m coming back, I just had to shift positions because we really weren’t in the best, nor most comfortable one.”
Toni grunted her assent and stretched out her limbs, beckoning the angel over. Zira complied with only enough delay to slightly tease the poor demon, a knee on either side of Toni’s hips, arms wrapped around her shoulders.
It’s anyone’s guess how long they remained in this, or similar, positions, and not being human, they didn’t strictly need to breathe. It could have been minutes. Hours. Days, even. Neither of them had any true responsibilities to speak of. Finally, though, the two were in a position similar to how they started. Zira was lying on her side, limbs thrown across Toni. Toni was alternating tracing patterns on her back and playing with her hair. Zira hummed in contentment.
“This is nice,” she breathed, “But you know what would make it even better?!” She opened her eyes and looked up at Toni.
“What, mi angelita?” Toni crooned with a smile, peering down at Zira’s sparkling eyes.
“Crepes.” Zira crowed. Toni chuckled as Zira went off on a barely-intelligible ramble about the magical qualities of crepes.
“Well, you’ve got two choices, then,” Toni said, cutting off the angel’s crepe musings, “I suppose three, but the third choice is staying here and doesn’t involve crepes, so...”
“No! Must have creeeeepes!” cried Zira in a mock delirium, throwing the limbs not underneath Toni all akimbo.
Toni laughed. “That’s what I thought. So. There’s a new crepes shop just down the street,” she started, seeing the angel’s eyes light up, “But we’d have to get dressed for that,” she saw Zira’s face fall slightly and the celestial flung herself even further across the bed.
“Nooooo. Must stay in comfy clooooothes,” Zira declared, as if this was the greatest tragedy to ever befall the two.
“Or,” Toni began, and immediately the angel perked up, “I could try my hand at making some for you. I’ve been practicing...” she trailed off as Zira managed to complete the extrication process and leap to her feet. Toni chuckled and put her feet on the ground as well, letting out a slow groan as she got out of bed and stretched.
“Brrr!” said Toni, shivering, “S’cold. I don’t like it,” she pouted. Zira laughed and tossed a cozy robe at her to put on.
“Here,” she said, putting on another layer of her own as she spoke, “And put on some socks or slippers or something and let’s make some CREPES!”
Toni laughed at her antics, watching Zira bounce and dance her way out of the room. She put on the robe and hunted for some socks. She had managed to find some and put one on when she heard, “Come ooooonnn! Crepe time!”
Toni shook her head and put on the remaining sock, chuckling to herself. Yep, this was her angel. She didn’t know what they were, but they loved each other. Were on their own side. And today, that meant attempting crepes. So she made her way to the kitchen, and her angel.
Notes:
So yeah, the next chapter will likely be the adventure of Toni attempting crepes. xD
I don't write smut, but feel free to imagine what you like happening after the kiss. ;-) I don't think they're QUITE at that stage yet, but you have an imagination. ;D
PLEASE let me know what you think! Comments and critiques are always welcome (be gentle). Kudos are always appreciated. <3
A  D A Y  O F  E X P L O R A T I O N  :  P A R T  1
ft the fabulous @isabellafaulkner!
*ooc: btw, the only reason this is divided into two parts is because it started to get long, and my fingers started hurting lol*
“Lady Aricia, please stop pacing around! You will wear a hole into the carpet!” my maid said.
I turned to look at her, and said “I’m sorry! I’ll go take a walk outside!” I smiled at them, smoothed out the wrinkles in my pale blue dress, and made my way outside to take a walk in the hallways, not knowing or caring where I was going.
Just then, I bumped into something.
More like someone
I looked up and saw a beautiful brunette staring at me and smiling. It was Isabella!
I looked at her and smiled, “Hey, Izzy! I’m sorry about bumping into you! What are you doing?” I asked
She looked at me and smiled back, “Oh, I’m sorry! I didn’t see you, Aricia! I was walking a bit around the palace, this is such a magical place! Anyways, how are you?”
I laughed, “That’s alright! Yes it is beautiful here! I’m doing great! How are you?”
Izzy smiled, “I still can’t believe that I get to walk around here, to be honest! It feels so surreal!” she exclaimed, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, “I’ve been great, thanks for asking”
I smiled, this girl’s happiness was contagious! “That’s great! Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to take a walk around the palace with me? You know, to check out the amenities?” I asked, hoping she said yes. I was going to explore the palace before, but it would be great to do it with a friend!
She laughed, “Yeah, that would be lovely! Is there some special one you would like to check out first?”
I nodded, “maybe the library?”
At that, Isabella’s face broke out into a smile, “Yes! I heard the library of the palace is the most beautiful one in the entire world! And it has been said that it has every book!”
I laughed, “Yeah, I’ve heard that too! Anyways, lets go!”
With that, we both started walking to the library, making some small talk along the way.
“I am so excited! Do you like reading?” she asked, looking around for the library.
I nodded, “Yes I do! Do you ?”
“Yes, I love reading!” she exclaimed, “I have so many books at home, they wont even fit on my bookshelves!” she said, with a laugh.
I laughed, “it’s the same with me! My father didn’t let me buy a lot of books for that very reason!” I said, with a smile.
She turned to look at me, “what’s your favourite book?” she asked
I shook my head incredulously, “Oh, you cant ask me that!” I exclaimed, profusely shaking my head, “Its so hard! But, if I had to choose, I’d say a tale of two cities! It’s a classic! How about you?”
Isabella smiled, “That is such a great book! A classic, indeed! I think mine would be Les Miserables!”
I grinned, “Ooh, I love that book as well!” I stated, “did you read it in French? I felt that it was more meaningful in French.”
She shook her head, “I would love to read it in French, but my French language skills are not that great,” she laughed, “so I just read it in English multiple times. Maybe I should start to learn French!”
I looked at her, and said, “Oh, maybe I could teach you French!”
She nodded, “I know some basics of the French language, but I am not able to read an entire book,” she said, with a chuckle, “It would be lovely if you would be willing to teach me something!”
I smiled, and said, “That’s cool! I’ll definitely teach you during this selection!”
Just then, I looked up and saw a big door, that said ‘Library’ on top. I turned to look at Izzy, and said, “Oh, we’re at the library!”
She looked up and nodded, and I walked forward and held open the door for her as we both walked into the massive library.
“Thank you so…” her sentence trailed off, and I realized why. The library was massive, books lined the shelves from floor to ceiling, just calling people to come and read their pages. There were a lot of chairs scattered around the room, with a few couches and ladders, so people could reach the books on the top shelves.
“Wow, this is even more beautiful then I imagined it would be,” she breathed, looking around the library.
My eyes trailed around the room, and suddenly I thought of a great game to play! I turned to look at Izzy, and said, “Hey, how about we play a game?”
She turned to look at me, intrigued, “Continue,” she said, with a smile
I nodded, “So we each look around the library, and pick out 3 books for the other person that we think they’d like! It’ll help us get to know each other better!”
She nodded, “Yes, that is such a good idea!! Sounds like fun!”
I smiled, “alright, lets go then!”
With that, we both started wandering aimlessly through the shelves, looking for some books. I thought that picking out some of my favourites may be nice, so I started from there.
“Oh gosh, there are so many books!” I heard Izzy say from the other end of the library.
“I know right!” I chorused, and sighed when I picked up a book that I think Izzy would like.
“It amazes me how quiet it is in here,” she said, “you cant hear anything from outside!”
I nodded, “It is so surreal! Its as if I could be in here and completely miss a mealtime, but I wouldn’t be mad about it!” I said, and I heard Izzy laugh.
“So, what was life back at your home province?” I asked, perusing through some more books.
“Bankston is so so beautiful,” I heard her say, “The nature is gorgeous! I love going on hiking trips and see the most beautiful scenery! Most of the time, the weather is pretty cold, but I love that! Snow flakes falling down, that will always help me relax… I’m sorry! Sometimes I get lost in my thoughts and memories, and I start rambling. Anyways, how was living in your home province? What are you going to miss the most?”
I smiled, pulling a book out from the shelf, “Bankston seems like a wonderful place. Maybe when this is all over, you could show me around! Lakedon is great, the temperature is really temperate, so I can always take walks and calm down! I’m probably going to miss my guitar and all the nice walks I can take.And I’ll miss my friend’s piano. There is probably one here, but I may or may not use it because I’m not the best player.”
I picked out my final book, and walked towards the front of the library. “I’m done my selections!” I said, and Isabella walked out from behind a bookshelf with three books in her hand.
“I wish we could leave the palace grounds and go walking around in the woods, but I guess that is not safe, which I can understand. Lakedon sounds lovely! Once this selection is over, or when I get kicked out, I will go travel all over Illea and see all the provinces and their beauty,” she finished her sentence just when she walked up to where I was standing and dropped her books on the table beside mines.
“Anyways, I have found books for you!” she said, “And about your piano dilemma, I heard that Prince Percy is a so called ‘piano god’. Perhaps you could play with him, but that is all up to you, of course! I bet you are amazing at playing piano!” she said with a smile.
I smiled at her, and thought that I’d tell her something that I’ve been keeping to myself, “Hey, Izzy, can I tell you a little secret?”
She nodded, and moved closer to me, “Yes, of course! I wont tell anyone! Pinky promise!”
I leaned close to her ear, and whispered, “I may or may not have a teensy crush on Prince Percy… I’m not sure if I will persue it because I don’t want to die, but I’ll talk to him and get to know him and maybe see where it goes…”
Isabella squealed and clapped her hands together, “That is adorable!”, she said, while I waved at her to keep her volume down, “And you already have something in common, the piano! I wont tell anyone, I promise! Will you keep me updated on how things go between you two?” she asked, with a smile on her face.
I nodded, “Yeah, of course! And if something happens, I will let you know for a second opinion, because I have zero experience with boys!”
She smirked, “I’m looking forward to all your Pericia updates!” she said, and I looked at her quizzically.
“Pericia? Don’t you think youre getting ahead of yourself, missy!” I laughed, patting her on the head.
She rolled her eyes, “Now, tell me about your books!” she exclaimed, looking down at them.
I turned and pick up the books, “Here are the ones I picked for you!” I said, and then gave her the first book, “This one is called ‘All the Light We cannot See, and its historical fiction! I’m not sure if you like that stuff, but I love that book a lot!”
I then picked up the second and third books and gave them to her, “This book is called ‘Vicious by VE Schwab’, and its one of my personal favourites, and the last one is ‘1984 by George Orwell’, and I like it a lot!”
She picked up all the books, thanked me, and started to give me the books she picked for me. “Okay, these are the one I have picked for you. The first is To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee. I loved that book, and it was an eyeopener! Next we have Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, another classic, but I love the story like and the romance is adorable. And lastly, Alice in Wonderland, I don’t know if you will like if but I decided to pick it anyways since I really liked it. Let me know what you think of them!” she said with a smile, and I smiled back.
“Ooh, all of these books sound interesting!! I almost picked Pride and Prejudice for you, but good thing I didn’t! All these books sounds interesting, thanks Izzy!” I said with a smile. Suddenly, an idea popped into my head.
“Hey, do you want do drop off our books in our rooms and go swimming in the pool? If you don’t want to, then that’s cool as well,” I said, with a smile.
Just then, Izzy starts laughing, “Oh my gosh! I was just thinking of the pool! Okay, lets go!”
With that, we both started running towards our rooms, which were in the same hall, and we both agreed to change and meet in the hallway. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face, no matter how hard I tried, because this palace didn’t feel as daunting as it did before, all thanks to one girl;
Isabella
I decided to take a question meme and just answer all of the questions for myself and anyone who might be interested to learn more about me :) Long so under a cut.
1: Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
Uh... you mean my wardrobe doors? Closed, If you mean bathroom, also closed. If you mean my room's door, open.
2: Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
If they're in a pretty package, sure. If not, I may not take them.
3: Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
Out. If I do try to tuck them in, I'll kick them out without realizing it so it'll be a waste of time to tuck them in.
4: Have you ever stolen a street sign before?
Nope. But I've taken posters from events that have already taken place, because those are thrown away afterwards.
5: Do you like to use post-it notes?
Yes but I'm way too unorganized to actually use them, I always forget.
6: Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?
I... never get coupons?
7: Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of a bees?
I know that to escape a bear you have to pretend you're dead. In the same article I read that it also showed how to survive a swarm of bees attack but I don't remember how that one went, so I guess a bear? At least it will probably kill you fast if it gets you...
8: Do you have freckles?
Yep, lots! And I'm proud of them :D
9: Do you always smile for pictures?
Yes, fully, with my cheekbones going up. Unless it's just a random photo a friend may take as I'm doing something random.
10: What is your biggest pet peeve?
Cars that ride by and have awful music at full volume.
11: Do you ever count your steps when you walk?
No, but most of the time I try to step on the tiles.
12: Have you ever peed in the woods?
We are a six-member family that used to do long-hour car rides, and I'm the youngest. OF COURSE I've peed in the woods. However, it's been almost ten years since the last time I had to do this.
13: What about pooping in the woods?
I think I remember doing it only once, and I must have been younger than 8.
14: Do you ever dance even if there's no music playing?
Yep.
15: Do you chew your pens and pencils?
I used to. Now I sometimes let a pencil rest between my teeth, if I'm bored, but I'm not actually chewing them much.
16: How many people have you slept with this week?
LOOOL the only people I've EVER slept with are: my mother, my sisters, and two or three friends, in a complete platonic manner.
17: What size is your bed?
Single.
18: What is your Song of the week?
Sweet Child o' Mine by Guns n' Roses.
19: Is it okay for guys to wear pink?
It's okay for everyone to wear anything they want. Sometimes I may be judging inside but that's my problem I need to solve.
20: Do you still watch cartoons?
I did binge-watch Avatar: the Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, if that's what that's about, and I recently watched Moana.
21: Whats your least favorite movie?
Twilight - I literally cannot watch this thing, the whole filming is so repulsive to me.
22: Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some?
If it's small and light, inside my pad packages - I've actually hid some banknotes in there once. If it's not, probably in my dirty laundry basket.
23: If you're a girl, bra size? If you're a guy, pants size?
80D in European system. If I'm correct, that's 36D in UK, USA and Canada. Yep, I have big boobs.
24: What do you dip a chicken nugget in?
Geez, we rarely even eat chicken nuggets - I prefer whole schnitzel pieces baked in the oven. But usually it's either ketchup or yogurt.
25: What is your favorite food?
Lol, lots. For now I'll go with pita gyro.
26: What movies could you watch over and over and still love?
Chocolat, Finding Nemo, Treasure Planet, The CS movie except from the nonCS parts, Shrek, Corpse Bride... I'm sure I'm missing a few.
27: Last person you kissed/kissed you?
Look, you're dealing with a grey asexual here, ok? I think it was my mother when she was going back home from visiting me at the beginning of this month.
28: Were you ever a boy/girl scout?
No, though I wished my parents had sent me :(
29: Would you ever strip or pose nude in a magazine?
Nope.
30: When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper?
About a month ago while playing D&D. My character was supposed to tell another character something but because it was personal and he didn't want the other characters to know, I slipped a letter to the player playing the character I wanted an interaction with, containing what my character would have told her.
31: Can you change the oil on a car?
Nope.
32: Ever gotten a speeding ticket?
No, I don't drive. Though once I called the police to give someone a ticket for parking on the sidewalk repeatedly.
33: Ever ran out of gas?
No, but once while I was with my father and we were going to Athens, the car stopped for some reason I can't recall and we had to wait for the track to mow us somewhere where it could be fixed.
34: Favorite kind of sandwich?
Sweet Onion Chicken Terriyaki from Subway.
35: Best thing to eat for breakfast?
Pizza, cold from the previous night.
36: What is your usual bedtime?
Lol. That's not even a thing for me anymore.
37: Are you lazy?
Yeah but I think my psychology issues are making it way worse.
38: When you were a kid, what did you dress up as for Halloween?
We don't have Halloween here, but we do celebrate Carnival. So off the top of my mind, I've dressed up as Snow White (reaaaaaly young), witch, hippie, cat, and then there was that time that I wore everything (shirt, trousers, coat, bag) with the back going on the front. I even brushed my hair to fall onto my face and wore a mask at the back side of my head. The only problem were the shoes -_- I also have a cheap pirate hat that I wear for fun, without a full costume.
39: What is your Chinese astrological sign?
Dog.
40: Are you horny?
Right now? No.
41: Do you have any magazine subscriptions?
No.
42: Which are better legos or lincoln logs?
What the hell are lincoln logs?
43: Are you stubborn?
Yeah but most of the time I keep it all in.
44: Who is better...Leno or Letterman?
What?
45: Ever watch soap operas?
Nah. Though OUAT has turned into a soap opera, hasn't it? To be honest I did watch Days of Our Lives at some point. And then sometimes my grandmother has Bold and the Beautiful, or The Young and the Restless, or maybe some Greek soap operas on when I visit.
46: Are you afraid of heights?
No, but it's not that I've tested it fully. I'd like to try bangee-jumping but I don't know how I may react.
47: Do you sing in the car?
I don't drive, but if I did I would sing.
48: Do you sing in the shower?
Sometimes.
49: Do you dance in the car?
If I did drive, I would only dance while waiting for the light to go green.
50: Ever used a gun?
Only airguns while training shooting, but yes, lots of times.
51: Last time you got a portrait taken by a photographer?
Two years ago, for my passport.
52: Do you think musicals are cheesy?
Yes. Most of them. But then there is that fine line that I can't describe that if not crossed, the musical can be amazing for me. Galavant is an example.
53: Is Christmas stressful?
A little but because I'm around so many people and I need to spend some time alone to recharge my extroversion but I feel bad doing it when the time I have to spend with them is limited in the first place.
54: Ever eat a pierogi?
I don't even know what this is, so no.
55: Favorite type of fruit pie?
I think I'd go with peach. Though this kind of confectionary is not my favourite.
56: Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?
Teacher, massage therapist, psychologist, architect...
57: Do you believe in ghosts?
No.
58: Ever have a Deja-vu feeling?
So many times I think I should start writing down whenever I feel them so that I can see if the circumstances are ever the same.
59: Take a vitamin daily?
I try to remember to take a Vitamin C supplement ever day.
60: Wear slippers?
Yep.
61: Wear a bath robe?
No because the climate here is humid af and the robe will never dry out. Otherwise I love them, sometimes even in summer.
62: What do you wear to bed?
Simple cotton pyjamas, and currently leg warmers as well because it's COLD. Never socks, though. My toes need to breathe.
63: First concert?
For non-wide known musicians, it must have been when I was 9, for two Cypriot singers who are very well known and loved in Greece. Widely known, Scorpions in 2009.
64: Wal-Mart, Target or Kmart?
I think I did shop once from Wal-Mart when I was in NY, but I'm not sure. I've never been in any of the others.
65: Nike or Adidas?
Don't care. My requirements are that they're affordable and anatomical.
66: Cheetos Or Fritos?
*regrets choosing this meme* Only Cheetos are available in Greece, so...
67: Peanuts or Sunflower seeds?
Peanuts! Though sunflower seeds are great to pass your time nibbling on something cheap with very few calories.
68: Ever hear of the group Tres Bien?
Nope.
69: Ever take dance lessons?
I took a few months worth of argentine tango.
70: Is there a profession you picture your future spouse doing?
Do I even picture a future spouse, is the question! Though I'd love for them to be into music and all.
71: Can you curl your tongue?
Yep.
72: Ever won a spelling bee?
No.
73: Have you ever cried because you were so happy?
I was touched by Inside Out and Tangled, but I guess this isn't happy exactly... I've also cried from laughter... but I don't think I've ever cried for pure happiness, like meeting relatives or friends I haven't seen in a while.
74: Own any record albums?
No but my mon has some old ones her late father had bought. One of them is Let it Be. We put it on the record player with my sister and danced around as if we were living back when it was first released.
75: Own a record player?
No, but I'd love to.
76: Regularly burn incense?
No.
77: Ever been in love?
I've been infatuated, but it never progressed much (first time the dude wasn't interested, second time he had a girlfriend) so I didn't even get to know them well and I can't call what I had love.
78: Who would you like to see in concert?
Colin O'Donoghue. 😍
79: What was the last concert you saw?
Muse in Athens last July. But after that I was in various other concerts of choirs and little bands here that you probably don't know of.
80: Hot tea or cold tea?
Hot tea.
81: Tea or coffee?
Tea. Coffee causes me to tremble.
82: Sugar or snickerdoodles?
What the hell is a snickerdoodle? *Googles it* A biscuit? Why is it that against sugar... oh. Biscuits, then.
Wow this meme is very American isn't it.
83: Can you swim well?
I can float, move around and sink a little if I want to, but I'm not that good with it. I learnt swimming when I was 11 and I've only practiced about a few weeks per year, some years I didn't even practice at all.
84: Can you hold your breath without holding your nose?
Yes.
85: Are you patient?
I wouldn't say so.
86: DJ or band, at a wedding?
Anything as long as it's not something I hate with the power of a thousand suns and it's not in super ultra full volume. Unfortunately for me, that's how Greek weddings almost always go.
87: Ever won a contest?
There was one singing contest I won when I was in a children's camp some 10 years ago, though not first place.
88: Ever have plastic surgery?
No, though if I ever did, I would do something to raise my upper eyelids.
89: Which are better black or green olives?
I'd say both. We have a black olive tree in our garden back in my hometown though, so I've eaten way more black than green olives.
90: Can you knit or crochet?
My grandma taught me knitting when I was little but I never bothered practicing. Now it's weird because it's such a trend even guys knit.
91: Best room for a fireplace?
In the center of a room, with a circular sofa around it.
92: Do you want to get married?
..... Eh.
93: If married, how long have you been married?
-
94: Who was your HS crush?
Who was my what?
95: Do you cry and throw a fit until you get your own way?
... No, I'm not five anymore.
96: Do you have kids?
No.
97: Do you want kids?
.... Eh.
98: What's your favorite color?
I like most colours, but I'd say my favourite hues are blue and purple.
99: Do you miss anyone right now?
My family, but mostly my sister and my baby nephew.
Episode 11 - "Me??? ANGRY??? That's the most bizarre thing" - Vilma
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Last round I had to vote Stephen because I think he wanted Liana out and wanted to be odd number at f7 and make whatever move he wanted to make but instead I blindsided him with Allan pat and Liana. I really wanted this endurance immunity but I fucked 4 times in a row which costed me and Tyler won which is not good because I really hope no one tries to blindside me or plays an idol.
Tumblr media
Oop it's confessional time. Honestly this week has been a pretty easy week so far (maybe too easy??). Right now the plan is for the 4 we have solidified to vote Jacob, along with Vilma. This week, for me, has more been a dilemma of where to go with this game. Clash and I finally solidified a final 2 but it's going to be hella hard to win against him in a final scenario Pat and I have been discussing getting to final 5 with the four and Vilma and then blindsiding Clash and it's a very enticing thought but I also think that the final 4 vote will be a lot more up in the air if that happens so I really don't know what to do.
Tumblr media
So it seems like every round something drastic happens right before tribal and my earlier confessionals have no meaning anymore. Basically what happened is Tyler sensed he was in danger and faked having a continental drift idol which would have saved him and another person from a different starting tribe. I never really bought his story because it just seemed like a too powerful advantage, Andreas and Dennis just don't strike me as hosts that would do something like that! But there was always the possibility Tyler was telling the truth and people started scrambling like crazy. Mind you, this all happened, like, 45 minutes before tribal. Oh wow tea Uhhh Is that idol for real? Sounds way too powerful to be true Would you guys do that???? This feels like sapphire idol all over again Would you guys do that???? IF I GO BECAUSE OF A WEIRD SUPER IDOL AGAIN IM GONNA BE SO PISSED I SWEAR TO GOD LOL So Stephen had just made an alliance chat with myself and Tyler in it, but he felt completely blindsided by Tyler's fake idol and felt like he couldn't trust him anymore, which resulted in him wanting to split the votes between Tyler and someone else, preferably Allan or Liana. Too bad Allan and Liana are tight with Clash and Pat and they obviously didn't like the plan, so they came up with a plan to blindside Stephen instead, leaving him, myself and Tyler completely out of the loop. I knew I wasn't been told the truth, because I was trying to get a name out of people pretty much until two minutes before tribal, and everyone would just beat around the bush and avoid saying a name to me. Finally people just told me I should vote Tyler and that they would split half the votes on someone else, but they never specified me who. So I ended up voting Tyler by myself like a big idiot. I knew my name had been in consideration once the scrambling started, so I was fully expecting to go home at tribal, and I was pretty surprised it ended up being Stephen instead of myself tbh. What a great play by Tyler to save himself! So after tribal Clash called me and explained me everything, claiming that people thought I was close to Stephen and that's why they couldn't let me in on the vote, to prevent leaking and idols being played. Which, you know, makes sense, but it definitely solidified I'm only a number to use for their core alliance, not someone who they would trust. I'm trying to like imagine an ideal boot order from my perspective but it's honestly so tough with these numbers I need to get one of Liana/Allan/Pat out soon They're more UTR compared to Clash and they're going to the end together if someone doesn't stop them But how could I do it without pissing them off so they'd still be open to working with me later on Out of the three Pat is showing the most interest of working together so I'd preferably vote Liana or Allan out first Liana feels like a safer bet since she already played her idol Allan could still have one But I don't know if it's realistic anyone would turn on her atm Clash is like the one person that alliance could potentially be willing to vote out But I don't know if it would be smart to do that yet Or just let them pick one of Tyler/Jacob out and keep my fingers crossed it wouldn't be myself I guess I'm gonna have to just try and talk to people and see how they're feeling Lol I wish Jacob wasn't so pissed at me we haven't talked in a long time And his responses to me are 'yeah' 'okay' If we actually communicated better we could've forced a tie last round But idk I probably would've only done it if I knew for a fact the other side was planning to leave me out of the Stephen vote For some reason they still think I'm likely to have an idol Which I don't have So whenever someone tells me my name is out there I'm just gonna let them know that I know So they think I'm playing an idol on myself And they have to switch to someone else Ugh I'm so close to beating my best Tumblr placement and I really wanted to win this immunity, but Tyler ended up beating myself and Clash by two points. That basically means one of myself or Jacob is pretty much guaranteed to go home tonight, and I just hope it will be Jacob over myself. People keep reassuring me the vote is going to be Jacob but I'm always suspicious. On another note, Patrick and I had a good talk last night and he is definitely starting to plan a blindside against Clash. I know Clash is already expecting people to turn against him, which is why I need him to think I'm 100% loyal to him still. But if an opportunity arises, I will definitely take Clash out. Even if I'd rather have it be Allan or Liana. It's not like I'm in any position of power here with zero advantages in my pocket, so I need to take the opportunities I'm given. If I just manage to make it through this round my possibilities of moving further are much greater! What was maybe even more interesting, though, was that Pat told me Clash has told people I'm mad at them!!!! So Clash has been telling his side I'm ANGRY at them And Pat, like, believed it Me??? ANGRY??? That's the most bizarre thing I would never be angry over a game and if they knew me one bit they would've instantly known that was absolute bullshit hahah Pat and I agreed that he has definitely tried to prevent us from bonding together and control communication between the different sides. It's funny because I had heard all these stories about Clash running around telling weird things about me, but I was suspicious about them before. Now I start to believe that they were all indeed true. I think Clash wants all of us to be close to HIMSELF and HIMSELF only, so he could control us like his little puppets. And I'm definitely going to continue embracing my role as his sweet little puppet to get myself further in the game. As far as I know, Clash is my one and only true friend in this game. Who even are the other players???? Here let me present you a list of all the ways crackhead Clash has tried to bullshit people to change their perception of me: 1. Telling his side that I'm REALLY angry at them because they voted out Emily 2. Convincing Stephen that I was trying to target him, which resulted in him playing the vote mirror against me 3. Trying to get Tyler to hate me because I voted him last round 4. Saying that I'm mad at him for not including him in the Stephen vote. ... And probably a lot more that I'm not aware of. Regardless of all this Clash fuckery, I think my strategy of clinging onto Clash like a leech and making a f2 deal with him has greatly benefitted me in this game, and I don't regret doing that at all. If Clash didn't think I was close to him and 100% loyal to him, I would've been much more likely to go home at every tribal since the Emily vote. The others are way more willing to budge compared to Clash. In addition to that, Clash has been the perfect shield for me since his target will always be even bigger than mine. Nobody wants to go to the end with him. NOBODY. So when the time is right, they will try to take a stab at him. He could still definitely have an idol though, so I need to be careful. So long story short, Jacob or myself will most likely go home tonight, and I just hope they choose Jacob instead of me. Thank god he's been beasting those challenges, it definitely helps my case here. I kinda still hope idol paranoia would cause them to split the votes between Jacob and myself, however, because then Jacob, Tyler and I could manage to make a voting block and take someone from their side out. I'm just not sure they'd be willing to take that risk.
Tumblr media
honestly, this game. So like im absolutely struggling, absolutely no longer on top of things but HEY im still IN. Honestly just doing some good old self preservation trying to #StayIn so thats FUN for ME. Made two fake idols and i highkey think it kept me safe that round so thats a hoot ;) AnyWAY jacob is probs going this round and theres nothing i can do about it! ✌🏼 People seem to be willing to flip on clash next vote tho hehe t
Questions about the Lions’ X-factors, Falcons fans and Takk’s possible coming out party
Good morning and welcome to Straight from the ’Beek! We’re just days away from the Falcons-Lions showdown in Motown – and you’ve got questions. Just remember that all opinions you see in this space are mine, unless otherwise noted.
So let’s have at ’em.
Kevin from Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England
Hi. I came over the pond for the Packers game. Loved the stadium and experience but was frustrated as to how many people left early. I’d be there every minute of every game if I could. Why do people leave so early considering how quickly a game can change and that this could have a detrimental effect on the team’s performance on both sides of the ball? If your team is winning, stay and have a party!!
Matt: Thanks for writing, Kevin. Glad you had a great trip and experience at the new stadium – and that your Falcons won, too. When I got here, they told me that Falcons fans tend to arrive “later” to games. Why? I have no idea. Maybe it’s the traffic? Maybe it’s the tailgating? But you could use that excuse for any fan in any city rooting for any team. And to your question, why so many left early on Sunday night during the Packers game? Maybe they left, or maybe they were walking around the concourse. It’s tough to know for sure, but there definitely were more empty seats. Maybe they thought the game was in hand and wanted to get a jump on the traffic, I dunno. It was late Sunday/early Monday morning and most people have to work on Monday morning, but I get your point. They were there and loud when it counted, so there’s that. It was my first regular-season game here, so I’m withholding judgment.
Robert from Los Angeles, CA
Hey Beek! Love the column. Been reading since day 1. First time contributing. I would like to know who your X-factors, or players to watch, are on offense and defense for the game against the Detroit Lions. I personally think the defensive line can get pressure against a Detroit O-line that’s missing their left tackle from last year to injury. On offense, I think the RBs will have a good day in both the run and pass game. Thanks, Beek, keep doing what you’re doing. The app is my way of keeping up with my Falcons news from Los Angeles.
Matt: Appreciate it, Robert. I think we all know Matthew Stafford is pretty good and the Lions helped him out greatly by investing in the offensive line during the offseason. It’s helped the running game some as well as given him more protection, it appears. As far as X-factors go, I think you have to keep your eyes on receiver Golden Tate and defensive end Ziggy Ansah. Tate is a like a running back in the open field – he can extend plays because of he gets the tough yards after catches. If he doesn’t score, he moves the chains. And Ansah changes the complexion of that defense. He had 30 sacks in his first three years. He was hurt last year, but he looks like his old self – he had three sacks against the Giants on Monday night. If those two are quiet or non-factors Sunday, I really like the Falcons’ chances that much more.
Vince from Clarkston, GA
Beek, no question just a Big Thank You for this Q&A! You really hit the nail on the head for a lot of my thoughts and the questions that are sent in answers the ones I have. Also, thank you “Ryan from Lake in the Hills, IL” lol
Matt: Glad you’re enjoying it, Vince. I’m still waiting to hear back from Ryan.
Rutul from Mount Prospect, IL
Hi Beek. I would like to see Julio get his 1st touchdown of the season. Do you think he will be targeted more this week in red zone? This will be game 3 and Julio does not have a touchdown. I would like to see him leading the league in touchdowns for receivers.
Matt: I think you and most Falcons fans feel the same way, Rutul. I’m anticipating another big year from Julio Jones, so I think you’ll see him targeted plenty. I wouldn’t get caught up in the stats (unless you’re playing fantasy football and you have Jones on your team, of course). I think this team is focused on 2017 – and making that deep postseason run. Just my two cents.
Larry from Las Vegas, NV
Hey Beek, I love the column. My question is, why aren’t the tight ends used more in playmaking like they did with Tony Gonzalez? I think using the tight ends in short situations will free up big plays for our fantastic receivers.
Matt: I think Austin Hooper is a terrific tight end and is only going to get better, but to be fair, he’s no Tony Gonzalez. Not yet, anyway. That said, Larry, I think a lot of times offenses take what the defenses give them – and if Hooper is open, I’m pretty sure Matt Ryan will find him. (See Chicago in Week 1.) Thanks for reading!
John from Buies Creek, NC
What name for Sanu at QB? Just watch the video and let him tell y’all. AGENT 12!!
Matt: I think that name is as good as any for that formation and thanks for the video link, John. And in case some of you Falcons fans missed it, coach Dan Quinn is open to suggestions on what to call it. Check it out. Thanks for writing, John.
Brian from Clarkston, GA
What’s up Beek! Rise Up! Quick question, what does CMB stand for in defensive stats? Thank you, sir!
Matt: That would be combined tackles – tackles plus assists.
Kevin from Sierra Madre, CA
You are right about Dwight Freeney being 37 years of age. I would prefer JT Jones or Nordly Capi from the Giants. Fans only remember Freeney from his past. The present is we don’t need to pay Freeney’s salary. Let’s just hope Vic comes back soon. Let Mr. Freeney become a defensive coach for the Falcons instead.
Matt: To be fair, you have to trust the Falcons on this one, Kevin. They work out the players, do their due diligence and they’re the professional talent evaluators. I think it all depends on the extent of Vic Beasley’s injury and how long they anticipate him being out. All we know right now is that he’ll miss this week. If it’s a month, well, they might move to Plan B, whatever that is.
James from Decatur, GA
It’s been 40 years since I put on the pads, but if DQ needs an outside backer willing to suit up, please forward to right people that I have one good game left in me.
Matt: Sure thing, James.
Kit from Canton, GA
Matt, didn’t hear anything about Wes Schweitzer this week, which is a good thing for an offensive lineman. Must have been a huge improvement. Can you comment on him?
Matt: You’re right, Kit. When you’re an offensive lineman and they’re not talking about you after a game, it’s almost always a good sign.
Lisa from Flowery Branch, GA
What’s up Beek. My question is, is there a chance that a podcast could be in the fans’ future? I for one, really enjoyed them. Second, I wish that we could have an option to listen to DQ’s full press conference, instead of just clips. This girl from the Branch like to hear the full story from my favorite team. And my last subject, is this the week we see Takk Attack? I think he will get his first sack in Detroit. Do you agree?
Matt: Lisa, nothing is set in stone regarding a podcast, but it’s on our radar. We’re making a lot of great changes here and whatever we do, we want to do it right. So stay tuned on that front. As far as the full DQ presser goes, you can watch it in a number of places, including Twitter, Periscope and Facebook. Check out the team pages. And to your last question, I think this would be the perfect week for Takkarist McKinley’s coming out party, especially with Vic Beasley sidelined. We shall see.
Jim from Raleigh, NC
Beek, what happened to the injury report? In the past, it’s always been posted on Wed., Thurs., and Fri.
Matt: Check it out here, Jim. We’ve got you covered.
Justin from Waco, GA
Hey Matt, I know it’s early in the season, but do you think the Falcons are the best team in the NFC South? I believe they are even though Tampa Bay looks much improved. I actually believe the Falcons are still the best team in the NFC and until someone proves otherwise we all should believe it.
Matt: I think it’s early, Justin. And I say that because we’re still trying to figure out the identities of all 32 teams – you can only base so much off last year and each week we learn a little more. Obviously, injuries can change all of that in one play, too. That all said, I think the Falcons had one of the most complete rosters coming into the season and Sunday night against the Packers was a good sign to see that offense is clicking again. I do agree with you two games in. They play the 2-0 Lions on the road Sunday and a win in Motown would only reinforce what most analysts, columnists and so-called experts already think about the Falcons.
Joni from Panama City, FL
Hey Beek! My question pertains to Matt Ryan. Is it possible, we fans might see him fake an end-around run and score when close to the goal line? I don’t think defenses would be prepared for that. I’ve wanted to see that many a time throughout his career.
Matt: Joni, I think with this offense – with all of its personnel groups, motion and formations – you should expect to see anything, maybe even a fake end-around run by Matt Ryan. Why not.
Travis from Greenbelt, MD
Who do you HONESTLY think will come out victorious on Sunday? I personally think the Falcons will come out on top but it will be a close one.
Matt: I’m always honest here, Travis. And I think the Falcons will win. I think it’ll be close until the end – and then they’ll pull away.
Kellan from Dayton, OH
Hey Beek, do you believe Freeney is the best available DE and if so, do you see us bringing him back in?
Matt: Really good defensive ends are almost as valuable as quarterbacks in this league, Kellan. If they’re walking the streets, there’s usually a reason. It will all depend on the ling-term prognosis for Vic Beasley. I think the Falcons would like to see some production from the players they have now and if they can get to the bye week (Week 5), my guess is that they’ll make a determination then on what to do. In a perfect world Beasley comes back next week healthy. Stay tuned.
David from Newnan, GA
Hey, Matt. I really like and read this every week. I think you seem to answer the same questions every week and it would be nice if you’d answer some different questions. Like maybe the questions I have asked the last two weeks. Really does not matter because l will continue to read. I promise I will never write to you ever again. Thank you for your time, good luck and goodbye.
Matt: Hey, David. I try to get the best and most interesting questions in every day — but I do not answer every single question submitted. Thanks for the kind words, thanks for reading and keep asking those questions!
