crawls out of my hole

good evening apex fandom and a special good evening to those who have read pathfinders quest but have NOT played the titanfall games. no overarching plot spoilers for PQ but this post IS about bangalore’s chapter because hoo boy am i feeling some feelings about that, so youve been warned!

firstly, by no means am i trying to argue that the militia is this perfect organisation who could or would do no wrong, because that’s not true. in a war, neither side are ever saints.

think of WW2. the allies weren’t this perfect group of people, but history remembers the them as the good guys. and RIGHTLY SO. i am 100% NOT comparing the IMC to the n*zi’s, and you should never do that because at the end of the day, the IMC is a fictional organisation, but it falls under a similar context. the militia are indisputably the good guys when it comes to the wars, and the IMC are indisputably the bad guys.

i fucking loved paths quest. but my one issue with that book is that it did a scary amount of playing both sides. yes, im more than willing to accept that the militia did some questionable shit, but im not willing to accept the way they tried to humanise genocidal corporate colonists through bangalore. for those who have not played the titanfall games (or at the very least titanfall 2), they were completely angled on ordinary people who took it upon themselves to fight the good fight against the IMC.

the frontier militia began as farmers, laborers and mercenaries, stealing arms and titans directly from the IMC to build their arsenal. why? because they were thriving without the IMC, until the fuckers ran out of resources to help them fight in a conflict that is literally and canonically called the Corporate Wars. then they returned, hundreds of years later, laying claim to something that stopped being theirs a very long time ago.

so when bangalore tries to say that the outlands is a shithole because of “militia terrorists” not knowing their place and staying in their lane, its..... fucking hilarious. it was the greed of the IMC, setting up shop, pillaging planets of their resources, and then abandoning these planets as quickly as they took them over that made the outlands what it is.

and also. bangalore’s sob story about typhon is equally ridiculous. yes, her brother zeke was killed, and that’s sad for her. but typhon had a zero civilian presence, and the planet... you know... wouldnt have even been destroyed in the first place if the IMC weren’t trying to use alien technology to blow up harmony. and for those who don’t know, harmony is a militia-controlled planet that is. heavily populated. by civilians. so with that being said, bangalore can shut the FUCK up about typhon.

but don’t get me wrong. i actually do like bangalore. she could be such a great character as an ex-IMC soldier who is learning to come to terms with the fact that the people she spent her whole life serving are very much on the wrong side of history. instead, the writers are trying to change the entire conversation between both titanfall games - the story that made the apex games possible. what they’re really doing is giving the IMC a redemption arc, instead of giving bangalore a redemption arc. and that fucking sucks :)

thats my biggest issue. there are many, many avid apex fans who’ve never played the titanfall games, who will never play them. and that’s okay! you don’t NEED to play them to really get what’s going on in apex, and path’s quest has some pretty good history lessons in it. but what the writers are currently doing is...indoctrinating is too strong a word for a videogame, but those fans are now under some really wrong impressions, and its not even their fault. bangalore’s chapter just seriously erased a lot of what the titanfall game’s stood for, and that makes me angy >;(

My AU list (kinda)

I decided to see how many AU ideas I actually have (just for the bbs). The answer is 43 in total yep 43 I didn't realize I had come up with so many. Thankfully I was able to put all these ideas into categories of how developed they are to see which ones to talk about. I'm only gonna talk about the heart and triangle idea groups today and wait to write about the others so without further ado lets list them. Btw the heart group means they're being written and/or have chapter outlines, triangle means they have a vague story outline and/or a lot of plot notes written down.

Heart 1. Sleeping Beauty (vantoonz)- this one I've already posted 2 chapters of so its pretty developed. All of its chapters have been outlined and 6 1/2 of them are written. Its part of the fairytale series which is just fairytales but with rarepairs (or gen) and told a little differently

2. The Little Matchgirl (miniladd)- this one is a one shot that had already been outlined but not written yet, I'll be writing it after I finish sleeping beauty. Its another one from the fairytale series and its kinda angsty.

3. Beauty and the Beast (squirrelious)- not all of the chapter outlines are done but its close. Another from the fairytale series. This one I'm having a little trouble with because I don't want to make the main pairings relationship unhealthy but that really hard becauee of thier circumstances I guess we'll just have to see how I do (when I eventually write it).

4. DN Angel au (?)- this one I'm writing currently writing chapter 1 of and its coming along well. I won't say what the main pairing is mostly because I want to shock you with it in chapter one. As I start to list more things you might notice a pattern where I think of Aus based on older anime I used to watch this was just the first one.

5. Fake marriage au (vanpanda)- this one is actually based on a recent manga I read, it was really cute and respectful towards LGBTQ+ people and I fell in love with it. The main pairing is vanpanda because its a wonderful ship that needs more love. I haven't started writing it yet but it has most of its chapters outlined.

Triangle 1. Sailor moon au (?)- again I'm not saying what the main pairing is because it might make it easier for people to guess who is who. I was torn whether I should have the sailor guardians wear thier outfits from the show or come up with new ones, I went with new outfits because of a different idea you might hear about later. Theres a lot of pairings in this one I won't lie and I'm slightly scared I'll mess up the mercury and uranus dynamics.

2. Power ranger au (gen)- this idea was 100% inspired by the videos of cartoonz and delirious playing that power rangers game. Funny story I almost started writing this au instead of DN angel but I left it up to a coin toss and well here we are now. There are a couple pairings in this au but they aren't very important to the plot (except for maybe like one chapter).

3. Zatchbell au (gen)- me and one of my older siblings watched zatchbell when we were young then again as teens/young adults and now me and one of my younger siblings watch it together. No pairings because theres enough going on without adding in all that.

4. A/B/O au (no main pairing)- the story bounces from person to person so there really isn't a main pairing. A lot of people do this au I've tried to make mine unique but we'll see how it goes.

5. Medly au (default pairings)- this is one of my first ideas when I decided to start writing fanfiction amd it was inspired by libahunt. Not in the sense of supernatural world but a big storyline involving all of the default pairings. It still has a long way to go before I start writing it but theres a bunch of notes written down.

6. Pathfinder au (?)- last but not least the pathfinder au. I'm gonna call this story a collab between me and one of my best friends because he has contributed so much to the plot and helped me a lot with the details and character creation. Also between the two of us hes been playing pathfinder a lot longer than I have. Its an interesting story thats almost on par with Medly.

Ok so theres those 2 groups of Aus I know i have way too many but theres no way to stop them.

Mass Effect Andromeda 10 Hour Review

As promised, here are my thoughts and opinions on the first 10 hours of Andromeda single player and multiplayer. It’s long because I have feelings There is a short non-spoilery Pros/Cons and a bit about multiplayer. Then I go into major spoilers for characters and story. I have a lot things to say guys.

Edit: So i just realized I never put a “keep reading” sorry bout that

Cons:

the character creator - I guess I was expecting something along the lines of Inquisitions CC

It was really disappointing, the lack of options really was a let down, I mean there were more options in ME3′s CC than this

but theyre suppose to be releasing a patch to fix the CC and some kind of Black Emporium-esque face editing thin

Thats it, thats my only complaint

Pros:

Everything else it was so good and so fun I can’t wait for tuesday

Any awkward facial animations were funny and I laughed. They weren’t game breaking or anything and can easily be ignored or missed

The casual outfits look so cool and you can change the color of them

FUCK YEAH THE MUSIC OH MY GOD ITS SO GOOD

literally everything is so good I love it the game play, the combat, the characters

The multiplayer is so much fun, it really gives you a chance to learn how combat works in game and the different skills you can learn. Also its not like ME3 where the story is affected by multiplayer. I’m not a hundred percent sure but it came across like certain missions you could assign to be taken care of in multiplayer. I may be wrong.

So friends, as someone who loves the Mass Effect series, I promise you this very much is a Mass Effect game. It has the same wonder and exploration of the first game, and the great storylines of the second and third games. Give it a chance friends, you won’t be disappointed.

**And this is where I go into story and character stuff so if you want to stop reading you can cause I talk about MAJOR STORY SPOILERS. I have thoughts and feelings and I need to write them down**

Okay so in the first 13 minutes video review, I said there were gonna be Daddy Issues but right after that Alec shows legitamite concern about Scott and his coma. He just has to be professional. And from what comes up later it seems like he genuinely loves his children, he’s just bad at being a dad. And how you react to him and what you say affects things in the story

Habitat 7 is terrifying yet so much fun. It really teaches you how to play the game. Everything about it makes you feel like you’re in a whole new galaxy. None of the rules of the Milky Way apply and you’re totally out of your depth here. At least how I played, I wanted to be peaceful towards the Unknown Aliens (The Kett but we don’t know that yet shush). They shot first. How rude. I wanted to be friends. Theia, my Ryder, even says something along the lines “I didn’t want to fight them”

*MAJOR SPOILER* My dad, my poor dad, he sacrificed himself so I could live. Or to avoid responsibility. But he transferred SAM to me, and made me the new Pathfinder. AND IT NEARLY KILLED ME THANKS DAD. And ooh it seems Cora may be a little salty about Alec making me in charge, but I don’t see it causeing a major problem.

There’s a mission called “Ryder Family Secerets” so like what the fuck did you do Dad?

Onto the Nexus, and anything that could’ve gone wrong went wrong. Everything is awful. But the Nexus is cool looking af. And all of the people you meet are really well developed.

THE TEMPEST!!! IS BEAUTIFU!!! SUCH A GOOD SHIP!!! im so in love its so sleek and sexy and unf. You can even jump off of things and take no fall damge its great

*SPOILER* Theres a scene, where Ryder is standing alone on the bridge of the Tempest. And in that moment, you’re truly alone. Both of your parents are dead, your mom died of a terminal illness. Your dad sacrificed himself to save you. Your twin is in a coma and shows no signs of waking up anytime soon. Theia has never felt more alone than in that moment.

Eos, the first planet you go to, is a desert *the good, the bad, the ugly theme plays*. I only got so far before I was story locked and could go no further. But I really want to know whats going to happen. I have an idea, but I need to know.

THE CHARACTERS! MORE SPOILERS

Cora: I liked her, I liked her personality, I liked how well rounded she seemed even just in the first 10 hours. She’ll be fun to get to know

Liam: precious cinnamon roll. He’s a fun character, and is probably going to be the “best friend character” like Garrus was if you didn’t romance him. But i think i’m going to hook up with him his voice is so sexy.

Vetra: bad. ass. she is so cool. and I can’t wait to get to know her more.

Lexi: I love her. I would die for her. I keep comparing her to Chakwas though, so we’ll see how that goes. - unavaliable for romance, shes into Krogan

Kallo: what a sweetie, very different from Joker. But still loves his ship more than anything. On Eos I jumped on top of the Tempest and he just goes “really Ryder?” i love.

Suvi: I like her shes funny, but I keep hearing Cait from Fallout 4 everytime she speaks.

Gil: he’s fuckin great I love him

PeeBee: I met her on Eos, she’s been studying the Andromeda’s version of the Protheans. Another settler referred to her as “crazy blue” and I see where they’re coming from. Talks fast, but is adorable.

Drack: another badass, only talked for like a minute but he basically told me to fuck off and leave him alone. I love him.

I don’t know much about the romances, but I flirted with everyone. As sis!ryder: Cora told me she wasn’t into women. Liam seemed into me. Vetra wasn’t overtly flirty back, but she didn’t mind. Suvi likes girls for sure. Gil I flirted with and he was like “nah, you’re not my type. But Liam is hot damn”. I also flirted with Lexi, but she said no cause it’d be unethical for her to date a patient. I get that. Also she’s into Krogan. Kallo had no flirt option, so idk man

And thats it. Andromeda is going to be a great game. If you’re still worried, I don’t know what to say. Just play the game. It’s going to be so worth it.

uh idk how to describe some panels due to barely remembering or not knowing how 2 word stuff so!! sry

okay so i arrived there early at like. 9:30 but apparently the con didnt open until 10 am? so i sat in the bottom floor lobby n played CR/went on tumblr until i went in and went to the bla/ck butler panel! ciel kept being dared to hug everyone, even ppl he hated like alois or soma n grell kept flirting w sebestian

then the bn/ha panel! they did trvia at first, n i think i got a question right, but didnt raise my hand so rip... anyway after short trivia they did the q+a and pr3s3nt m!c said he goes thru 2 cans a day w his hair n that he has endorsements w hairspray companies n later all m!ght said he was oth proud and disappointed in deku’s obssesion w him n i asked aizawa if any of the students ever vaped in his classroom n he said that the were rowdy

after that i walked around for a while n saw a momo (id0lish) n without thinking, asked 2 take their pic n they said they remember me from last year n they were apparently the momo i took a pic of last year??? haha whoops i was just Excited. i also saw a rei while talking to a tsumiki+nico n i was like “thats a yumenosaki uniform omg r u cosplaying ens/tars/into ES” n they said yes they were supposed 2 b rei but their friend had their wig but we were talking abt ES n i cant rly remember a lot of the convo but they said they only rly disliked eichi n i think they liked rei n ritsu n switch? anyway, also around this time, i was climbing the stairs n a fancy dre/amer jane was like ‘hey uh, are you looking for someone named x?” n i said “no...?” n they realized they got the wrong peron n apolgized n left but later i saw them again n asked 4 a pic n apparently their dress was $200 holy shit.. it was a rly nice outfit tho aa.

then i went to the hs panel! not much to say tbh? stuff happened, questions were asked n all, yknow. kanaya n rose came in fashinoably late but the kanaya was pretty aa. they got asked abt vines n i remember the kanayas favorite was the “yall ugly” vine. aradias was “so no head?” roses was “we all gonna die someday”

anyway, i went downstairs n stood arund then noticed someone that looked like 1st yr koga so as i passed them when i started moving, i asked if they were koga n they said yes n i took a pic of them (i didnt realize their friend was rei/fem!rei (i think) altho i slightlky wondered it but i had tunnelvision.. a onetrack mind...) n i was like “how r u doing in the event?” n they apparently dont play the game, but they’re into ES n i said “oh!” n i asked their best boy n they said keito or [someone i cant remember] n i said oh cool and i stan rei, since im thirsty, and chiaki n idk the rest of the convo, but they told me there was an ES person in the artist alley n i immediately ran off to go find the artist. then i found an iruma w an arashi in their itabag n complemented them on it (n also said arashi is valid) n their friend had a tsukasa itabag n we talked abt ES for a minute and i asked them abt the button artist.

then the v0ltr0n panel! again, dont kno what 2 say, but it was p funny! “what’s yalls favorite ship??” “we all swore, the Castle” bhrghrt. then i meant 2 go 2 the su panel after the v0ltr0n panel bc it ended at 5:20 n the SU panel ws ongoing after it but i just Didnt.

so i walked around the dealers room again n saw someone w a tsumugi itabag n i was like “their hair looks similar to tsumugi r they cosplaying tsumugi?? either way, ill complement them on their bag” but they Were cosplayng tsumugi like i expected n they said they were glad 2 b recognized n that tsumugi doesnt get enough love n i got a pic of them n we talked abt ES n they liked the natsume strap on my bag n they also like the oddballs, bc i mentioned i have all the oddballs on my bag except shu n i learned the ES button person was the same one that made the buttons? they showed me a lil tori figure keychain they got n it was cute... idk if we talked abt much else but Yeah. i also ran into the rei n they found their wig n i was like “u got ur wig? nice! im proud [idk why i said this? i think i meant it in an ‘i believed in u!’way??]” n asked them n the dia they were w for a pic, and also ran into one of my tumblr friends n they had such a cuuuute outfit n they had a lil v!ktuuri charm AND a super cute clear keychain n i was like “MY EFFING BOY.. WUV” but we talked 4 a minute which was fun!!

then the v0ltr0n “opration whats goin on” panel! the operation was apparently that lance couldnt speak english thruout the panel but i knew a bit of spanish so i could kno some of the words but anyway i remember they all T-posed n i think they got asked a vines question too? yea! i remember at some point the kieth threw their starbucks cup in rp anger or smth (it was p much empty) but some of it got ont he carpet n everyone was like ‘KEITH...”

then i coudnt walk around the dealers room bc it was closed so i walked on the con floor n some person was walking around w a large speaker n they put on “Take On Me” n a bunch of us started a chain of people following each other doing that weird dance run that goes w that song n we went all around the con floor, up the escalators, up the stairs, circled around 3 LL cosplayers, went back down, went all the way to the game room, did it in circles around the middle floor of the game room, then the person changed it to “Nevr Gonna give u up” n said we all just got rickrolled but we continued the chain/conga n just danced along to it and motiond to others while lipsyncing all the way back to the middle floor area w the music then the speaker person put on the macarena n i did it for a minute b4 worrying abt my wig n getting tired so i walked around the area then stood near a corner n started reading a hypm!c smut fic then later sat down near the next panel room i was going to go in n finished it

then the dd/lc panel!! i was on my ipad 4 some of it oops sry but they were talking abt who’s best girl n what was it like for monika to delete the others n they got asked the meme and vine question too n they all T-posed as well n there was a kid in the audience who rly loved natsuki n monika n gave natsuki a hug b4 they had 2 leave b4 the panel ended n it was cute... someone tried 2 play your reality on an ocarina, yuri said f*ck, n sayori yeeted a pencil aiming 4 the center aisle of the room but it hit someone but yea Fun Timez

i left a few minutes early to go to the g0rillaz panel but apparently they had 2 cancel so i called my dad 2 come pick me up n saw my tmblr friend again nwe talked abt kp0p n con stuff then they left n i went to the game room 4 a sec but b4 that i saw kenyan n joked w him n called him a furry but how i met w hhim was that he was at the post near the game room (the badge check) n as i walked past he said “i told ur dad id watch over u it’s okay” or smth like that n i went “...excuse me? i dont know you.” but then i realized who it was n went “oh.kenyan sry hi” n he was like “yea, u do, iplay pathfinders n dnd w ur dad in 2 days....” and i said “in our house ur labeled as a furry” n said he should cosplay his furry characters

anywway after a while (i just sat down n waited) dad picked me up!
