Pets
Just wanted to do something to clear my mind and take a break from stress lol. So what better way than to headcanon some pet ideas?? For the WHOLE a1 class!!!
Deku squad
Izuku-
I could see him having a cat. Well really it was his moms, but the cat is basically attached to izuku and always sleeps and hangs around his room.
Uraraka-
If her parents let her get a pet im sure it's going to be a little breed of dog. Like a Maltese or Yorkshire Terrier. Small and easy to take care of.
Iida-
Iida's family would have like 2 german shepherds. Very loyal and sturdy dogs that are easy to train. The family however has a poodle for a service dog with tensei.
Tsu-
If it wasn't obvious?? She would have a pretty cool pacman frog as a pet and would make sure it was super happy.
Todoroki-
Ooooooo i could see shoto having koi fish as pets. Like a big pond in his backyard. It goes with his homes traditional Japanese aesthetic. Plus they're red and white mixed just like him and he admires their grace.
Momo-
I get sugar glider vibes with momo. Something cute and expensive. Also they really are just absolute cuties that can be trained with patience.
Baku squad
Katsuki-
It's hard to really see him with any other pet besides a pomeranian because,, he a fluffy boy and so are they. It could be his mom's and it just prefers him more. Probably because he smells like sugar lol.
Kirishima-
Big dog. Im talking, giant dog. Saint bernard fluffy dog. Something he can cuddle and also bench press. Big dogs are manly af.
Kaminari-
Aww i think kaminari would have a hamster. Just feeling a bit in the dumps until he hears it running around in its wheel and he starts smiling and goes over to watch it.
Mina-
Guinea pig!!! Squeaky loaf of adorableness!! Mina would buy cute outfits for it and do a cute Guinea pig dress up show.
Sero-
Tarantula!!! A rosehair most likely. He's not scared of bugs and he thinks they're pretty cool. He also enjoys what little work he has to do to make sure his tarantula is happy and content. Also uses the molted skin for pranks
Jirou-
Cat most definitely. Sleek slim breed. She enjoys her cats attitude with the whole, touch me i love you- wait no dont touch me i hate you.
Mutant gang
Tokoyami-
Probably would have a scorpion to fit with his edgy aesthetic. He admires the way it looks and really does think of it as a darkly beautiful creature.
Shoji-
Can't really see shoji actually with a pet at all. Maybe growing up he had a goldfish but really pets aren't his thing.
Koda-
We already know he has a rabbit lol.
Ojiro-
I love to think of ojiro as a out of town sort of kid, living on a slightly big piece of property and running a small farm. Nothing too big just a few chickens, a milk cow, maybe a goat. Plus a collie to keep the animals in check!
Hagakure-
How cute would it be for her to have a snake?! Look she's really girly but snakes detect thermal motion so it could know she's there and be really happy!! Maybe a ball python because they're really easy to take care of.
Others
Sato-
As big as sato is i think he would just enjoy a cat lol. It would just hop onto the counter while he's baking and could nuzzle into him purring. Omg that would be adorable!
Mineta-
Honestly mineta could have a gerbil. All he has to do is feed it, water it, make sure its bedding is clean. Then bam he's done and he gets to enjoy watching the little fuzzball hop around.
Aoyama-
Fish!!! Beta fish!! An absolutely beautiful beya fish with beautiful colors and a flowing tail. The most amazing tank you've ever seen!! He takes so much care of his fish because its what it deserves!!

From 10 to 15 :)
10.  What’s your favourite type of weather?
I really like sunny, warm weather. Hot enough to wear short sleeves and short trousers, but not hot in a way of “i’m sweating all over just by existing”. I’m not a big fan of the cold.
11.  What do you like talking about?
I’m a huge talker, I talk about anything and everything, I rarely keep things to myself. But I guess I like expressing my opinions regarding things the most. Whenever I watch a movie that I like, I can’t help but to ramble about it for an unholy amount of time to explain to people what it was about and express everything that I liked about it. Same goes for songs, bands, books and other things.
12. What are your turn ons?
We’re not going to percieve the next two questions in a sexual way, thank you very much. :) But I guess I would say when a person really seems to enjoy my company and likes spending time with me. Also, people who have a positive outlook on things. Out of the physical things, I enjoy a good hug.
13. Turn offs?
People who seem to always be talking shit about others. And also people who just decide that they don’t like me while I haven’t done anything to offend them.
14.   if you got a tattoo, what would it be and where would you get it?
I actually thought about this quite a lot, and I decided that getting lyrics tattoed on your body is a generally bad idea, but I was still interested in a musical tattoo. So I came to a conclusion, that if I were to ever get a tattoo, it would be the sheet music to the opening riff of George Harrison’s Something, either at the back of my neck or on the inside of my wrist.
15. Do you want any pets?
I’m really scared of holding animals, so things like small dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and things of the like are absolutely out of the question. I’m intrigued by owning a parrot, because I really wanted one when I was younger (I got one for my 5th birthday, but it died after like a month), but these things can get pretty noisy, so I guess I’d settle for some fish
Thank you so much for asking! :D

With the holidays coming up, this is just a friendly reminder that, while pets can be a wonderful present for someone who knows what they are getting themselves into and can actively take care of the,, they are not the same as an inanimate object. As someone who works at Petsmart in the Pet Care Department, I see people who are unable to care for an animal, try to convince themselves that they can each and every day. You are not entitled to be a pet owner. If you cannot commit to the demands of the animals, do not get them. These animals deserve to live a quality life, regardless of how cheap they are being sold. So here are some friendly reminders about the animals that are typically sold at pet stores. Fish: All of the fish at Petsmart NEED a filter. The betta fish do not absolutely need a filter, but they will thrive with a tiny one. If you don’t plan to get a tank, and only have a bowl, do not get a fish, even a comet goldfish. These fish will die a slow death. They won’t have enough oxygen. Further, all the fish at these stores require a minimum of 5 gallons, again with the exception of a betta fish. If you have a 1-gallon bowl, please do not get a cute, little goldfish. They’re cute, but they’re living creatures, and deserve to have the right space. Comet goldfish require a minimum of 10 gallons, and should eventually be upgraded to a 29-gallon tank. These fish can live for years. They are  a long term pet, regardless of them being 14 cents.
Small animals: Hamsters are not to be sold in pairs and should not be housed together. They’re extremely aggressive animals, and should only be housed alone. These animals live approximately 2 years. They’re not an animal you buy for just a short term period, they will live for 1-2 years. Further, those cute tunnel cages, for the love of god, do not get your hamster them unless you get a small Robo Dwarf. If you get any other kind (Russian, Syrian, Fancy Bear, etc.) these tunnels are too tiny and your hamster will eventually get too large and get stuck and potentially die in these tunnels. Hamsters will bite shock. If you’re not prepared for this, do not get one. Please don’t buy an animal and return it once it bites you. This is irresponsible. Guinea pigs are friendly creatures. They can be housed in pairs and will do better in pairs actually. They need lots of attention and lots of space. They’ll also need hay, alongside their normal food diet. The chinchillas are one of the more complex small animals. They are easily overheated and need to be kept in a cool climate. Their fur, which is super warm and fuzzy, is dense and will lead to them overheating and dying if not kept in a cool climate. They will also need to have frozen slabs in their cage (changed out 2X a day).  They’re also about to get super attached to people and other animals. We had one returned to us because she had severe depression after her chinchilla sister passed away and the owners did not know what to do with her.
Reptiles: All the reptiles that are typically sold at pet stores are long–term pets. These are animals that will live for a long time. The tortoises will last for ~50 years. The snakes ~12-25, the lizards ~10-20, etc. These animals sold at the stores are babies. The bearded dragons in our store are often one to two months old, they will not stay this small! They will grow up to 2 feet long. The snakes are the same way, they will grow up to 5 feet long. A few of our animals we sell are not meant to be handled. They are animals that are strictly for looking at. This goes for the scorpion and some of our frogs, especially. The snakes that are sold in our store are all fed frozen mice/rats, and will need to fed this once they leave our store as well. Please don’t buy a snake and then be shocked they won’t eat crickets or mealworms (yes, this occurs). All of the animals that we sell have specific UVB/UVA requirements, heat lamp requirements, dietary needs, special needs, humidity requirements, etc. Please, please, please be aware of this when you are going to get these animals. Yes, they’re kept in small tanks in our store, but it’s for a short term period and we often let them out. Further, they’re at the smallest they’ve ever been, as they get larger, they’ll need a larger tank. Tanks are expensive. Please be aware of this.

Best pet insurance deals
Pet insurance is absolutely essential if you own a cat or dog. Vet bills can be seriously expensive and without pet insurance it’ll be up to you to foot the bill. At the moment a number of the big pet insurance companies are offering impressive online discounts. From less than £4 a month you can relax knowing that if your pet does get ill, your only concern will be getting them better. What is pet insurance? Do I need pet insurance? What do I need from my pet insurance? Getting the best deal Latest pet insurance offers   What is pet insurance? You can get pet insurance to cover all different types of animals, from dog insurance and cat insurance to exotic animal insurance and more. Knowing which pet insurance to go for can be tricky, and before buying any you really need to consider the needs of your pet. Pet insurance is primarily to help you pay vet bills if your pet falls ill and needs medical treatment. Some policies will cover the costs of looking for your animal if it goes missing or is stolen, cancellation of a holiday if the pet is ill and emergency pet boarding. The big cost to pet owners, on the whole, is vet bills which are going up all the time. Even small operations can cost £100s and larger ones, particularly for bigger animals, can easily slip into £1,000s. Pet insurance really makes sense when you look at the monthly costs. It can set you back as little as £4 a month for a cat and £6 a month for a dog on a basic policy. No pet owner can get round vet bills any other way.  You can make an application to the Blue Cross which might help if you can show that you are on social security benefits. There is also the charity, the Peoples’ Dispensary for Sick Animals, which helps pets, but only the pets of the needy. Suddenly you start appreciating just what you are getting on the National Health.   Do I need pet insurance? Absolutely. There’s no law saying you have to get it, but if you don’t then be prepared to cough up should your pet get ill. Two out of three pets need vet treatment every year and that fees for these treatments increase by 12% yearly. When you think that your pet’s broken leg could cost up to £2,000 or a blocked intestine as much as £500, £6 a month for pet insurance suddenly seems pretty reasonable. Pet insurance can also cover a wide range of eventualities, from paying out for advertising if kitty goes awol, to covering the cost of your missed holiday if pooch is poorly. The best pet insurance policies should cover vets fees for x-rays, surgery and hospitalisation as a result of accident or illness, and treatment of long term conditions. They should also include cover for legal fees should your pet be involved in an accident or attack a third party. Benefits for death from illness or accident and reward expenses for stolen and missing pets are another benefit of insuring your pet. Some polices will also cover complementary medicine and behavioural disorders as well as covering holiday cancellation expenses if your pet needs emergency treatment. As a rule, small pets like hamsters and guinea pigs are not worth insuring. Most of the time, they don’t live long enough to make the payments worthwhile. But if you would like information on how to care for your small pet then take a look at the RSPCA’s guide on how to look after them.   What do I need from my pet insurance? Your premium can be affected by a great deal of things. Obviously, the type of animal you have will play a massive part in your insurance, so will its age, pedigree and where you live (generally, vets bills are higher the further south you travel and are naturally way more expensive in London). Of course young cats and dogs are cheaper to insure than the pets that are getting on a bit. Breed, medical history and how much ‘excess’ you will pay before the policy kicks in – £30? £60? – also affects how much you will have to pay in premiums. Don’t forget that a whole load of routine veterinary items, like being spayed, are not included in many types of cover. It can be difficult to compare pet insurance policies as different ones have different types of cover so it’s hard to compare like with like. For a start, different companies have very different ways of paying out if you claim. Some pay you up to a total amount per year, or per condition or operation. Others will only pay for a single claim per year then other policies will pay for a single claim with no time limit. Before you start to take out cover for your pet, decide exactly what you want and need from your insurance. For example, you might want extras such as: An emergency pet boarding allowance if you have to go away at short notice Insurance to cover your cancelled holiday if the pet becomes ill Payment for advertising the loss of a pet Death cover whether through illness or an accident   Getting the best deal Getting the best deal is the trickiest part. There is a wide range of policies with all sorts of different bells and whistles (such as the extras mentioned above). It’s hard to compare like with like but here’s how to go about it: Step one: Have a look at different deals Make sure you read through what the different policies offer. The cheapest one may not be the best for you because it may not cover the aspects you need. And don’t be dazzled by impressive discounts before reading the smaller print, as it’s there that you might find a term that doesn’t suit you and your pets needs. Step two: Push the price down There are a few ways you can bring the monthly premiums down: Accept a higher excess (in other words, you are willing to pay a larger amount of the bill if you do have to have a visit to the vet). Keep your pet healthy by keeping his weight down and giving him regular exercise. For more information on how to care for your pet, visit the RSPCA’s website. Keep vaccinations up to date. Insurers are unlikely to pay out on a claim if illness could have been prevented by a vaccination. See our article here for ideas on keeping your vet bills down generally. Buying online can knock back the premium by 5% Insuring more than one pet with the same policy will reduce the total amount you pay. Shop around! You can compare prices for different insurances here.   What to look out for Pay-out limits Most insurers will limit the amount of money they pay out to you. They can do this in a number of ways. The first is a yearly limit. This means that once the company has paid out a certain amount for vets bills, boarding costs and death cover etc. you’re on your own. Insurers will often try to sell you a higher priced cover to raise the yearly limits but rather than jumping at the chance to spend more money, ask yourself whether or not your pet is really likely to need that much money to cover its costs. The second way an insurer can limit your cover is to pay per illness. If your pet acquires a long term illness such as diabetes then your plan will only cover you to a certain amount and then once again you’re on your own. This can be particularly troublesome with older pets which develop illnesses that last a long time. Some policies will also only pay out for a specific period of time for a particular illness, so a policy may cover your dog for its first year of diabetes but not the second. Lifetime cover It’s worth noting that life doesn’t always mean life. Check the small print on anything you sign. An insurer might well advertise lifetime cover but they’re likely to increase the premium as your pet gets older, and existing ailments might not be covered when you renew your policy. Also, insurers will often not insure pets over eight years old as they’re more likely to need the vet. It’s worth considering insuring your pets for life when they’re young then they will be covered. Excesses Policy excesses vary between insurers. Check that you are not required to pay too high a proportion of vets’ bills yourself to make the policy worthwhile. Existing conditions A lot of insurance companies will either charge you much higher premiums, or not cover you at all if your pet has an existing medical condition. This could be anything from a knee injury to a dodgy eye so you should check with the insurer. Also, a lot of pedigree animals are at a much higher risk of hereditary conditions so cover for these types of animals will always be higher. Theft Surprisingly, pet theft is rife in Britain. As many as 500 dogs are stolen every month in the UK. Cats are also high up on the list and even exotic birds, reptiles and fish can be stolen. If you know your animal is in particularly high demand, is expensive, or is quite an attractive looking fellow then make sure your policy covers theft. For more information on dog theft and how to keep your pooch safe check out the website: Home Security Action. Alternatives to pet insurance One way to avoid paying monthly insurance costs and risking your money going to waste is to set up a savings account that is your own ‘pet insurance’. This isn’t a special kind of bank account, it simply means that you pay a certain amount every month into this account which you earmark for vet bills. This way, you earn interest on the money you pay in, and if your pet doesn’t actually go to the vet then you’ll have the money to spend on whatever you like. The only risk associated with this idea is that your pet might fall ill before you’ve had the chance to save up enough to cover the costs, in which case you would have to pay out whatever is remaining from the money you’ve saved.   Latest pet insurance offers A number of big pet insurance companies are currently offering impressive discounts if you book online. National Pet Day: How are Owners Honouring Their Pets in 2021?
Tumblr media
National Pet Day is April 11. As we celebrate the four-legged companions in our lives, one might reflect on the sad reality that our pets won’t live forever. Pet ownership in the United States alone has jumped 11% since 1988, meaning that 84.9 million American households have a pet; many have more than one. Dogs and cats continue to be the most popular. Still, many others, including fish, birds, horses, small animals (like hamsters and guinea pigs), and reptiles (like snakes and turtles), have become permanent residents in American homes and all over the world. Unique burial options have also risen over the years as well. Just as you treat your furry or scaly friend like family when they’re alive, you subsequently treat them like family when they die. We have done that with our furry and scaly friends. Researchers at Choice Mutual uncovered many ways Americans memorialize their pets that have crossed over the rainbow bridge. View the full report here.  Some more interesting discoveries:  - Although cremation may be a more popular option for burying pets, there are over 200 currently operating pet cemeteries in the U.S. - There are many ways to repurpose a pet’s ashes, ranging from a remembrance stone for $99 to a functional vinyl record for $1160. - Pet owners with $9,000 to spare can head over to Utah–the only place in the world where you can mummify a pet.  - For pet owners who want to keep a lifelike version of their pet, they can opt for Taxidermy, which starts at $500 and goes up depending on the pet's size. As a note, some states or taxidermy offices won't allow your pet to be taxidermied, or they will only allow it for certain animals. No matter what role your pet has played in your life, they are important and hold a warm spot in your heart. They will always be remembered with the photos that you have taken, special memories, and your remembrance of them after they have crossed the rainbow bridge. Read the full article
