EXO as Mafia

because the brain rot was so bad and the content so dry that I had to do it myself so...

Suho: The Kingpin Name: Kim Junmyeon

The Kim family has always had dealings in the criminal underground. When Junmyeon was passed over to inherit the Kim business in favor of his older brother, he decided to start his own crime syndicate, which overthrew his families overnight. Now, the sole survivor of his family’s unfortunate “accident”, there’s nothing getting in his way, and he’ll make sure it stays that way – no matter the cost. EXO – his valued inner circle who helped him to achieve this goal – are his new family, and as long as they are loyal, he will do anything for them. While being “the boss”, those in his inner circle were more his equals than anything else; very rarely did he have to pull rank, and he preferred it that way. It almost ensured their loyalty to him and kept things running much more smoothly than his more “traditional” upbringing.

Xiumin: The Underboss/Treasurer Name: Kim Minseok

Xiumin had been around for Suho longer than anyone else – longer than either could really bother to recount. Their bond was one thicker than blood, and there was no doubts between them when it came to trust. It’s for that reason he was named as the right-hand man, and he wasn’t one to take advantage of a position like that. As they grew in renown and wealth, he took up the position of managing the funds for the mafia as well – meaning if you pissed him off, he'd make sure you were cut off until you learned your lesson. He has learned to get along with the other inner-circle members but isn’t as touchy feely or “found-family” as Suho is. As long as they get the job done, and don’t cause him any headaches, he’s good.

Lay: The Ambassador Name: Zhang Yixing

Yixing was possibly the most valuable addition to the criminal organization. Being fluent in Chinese, Korean, and English, Lay slid into the position of being an Ambassador for the group – spreading out their allies, and their wealth. Lay single handedly ran the Chinese operations for the group – anything Suho wanted, he got done, and he got it done efficiently. It was a kind of security that other gangs (save for some…) didn’t have, and it increased their influence on a scale that was unheard of. Lay finds the almost symbiotic relationship between the inner circle as being incredibly soothing. He spends most of his time in Korea, only traveling to China if he has to. He prefers the company of his group, to the loneliness of his penthouse in Beijing.

Baekhyun: The Assassin/Hitman Name: Byun Baekhyun

Baekhyun is an odd guy. In this line of work, most hitmen, or assassins carry themselves in a certain manner – silent, or big & tough, or preferring to go unnoticed… Baekhyun seemed to have missed whatever the memo was on that. His carefree, flippant, and often mischievous attitude really caught Suho’s eyes when he was first introduced to the young man who had been quickly making a name for himself in the underground; using his own name at that – something very rare, and almost naïve for an assassin. But it just impressed Suho even more, because it proved his skills. He was welcomed into EXO, and quickly into the inner circle, and he’s been the resident prankster of the group ever since.

Don’t let the puppy eyes fool you – this man has seen more bloodshed than most of the population and caused the majority of it. His innocent act just helps him to better blend in with the crowd. The other’s won’t admit it, but the thought of being on his bad side has definitely cost them some sleep in the past.

Chen: The Frontman/Informant Name: Kim Jongdae

Kim Jongdae is a businessman – end of discussion. He knows all the tricks of the trade – how to best charm people, wrap them around his finger, and extort them for all they are. His silver tongue is a talent that Suho refused to pass up when he was assembling his team and met the young man. Because of his easily approachable nature, sharp wit, and impeccable communication skills, Chen was perfect for being the groups Frontman. Anyone that wants anything from EXO – weapons, assassinations, drugs, loans, a business proposal – no matter what, the first person you’re going to see is Chen. If he thinks your proposal is good, then he’ll pass your name on. Being the Frontman, seeing as many people as he did, he also falls into the role of informant. Nothing gets by him, and he’s stopped a lot of trouble for the gang before it can happen. Chen, being a typical businessman, keeps his home and work life separate. He fulfills his duties for the group during business hours and won’t be bothered when he is at home with his wife and kids. This arrangement is concrete, and Suho respects it, making everything work smoothly like a well-tuned clock.

Chanyeol: The Dealer/Weapons Expert Name: Park Chanyeol

Park Chanyeol was actually a recruit that Chen managed to sniff out. This boy was making a good name for himself as being able to get anything you needed, no questions asked. So, Suho took it upon himself to test this out, putting out a line for some rather rare, foreign weapons, and a very tight deadline. When Chanyeol delivered, he offered (insisted) the man work for him, and he’d make it worth his while. Seeing this as an opportunity to get some of the stress of working alone off his back, and increase his outreach, Chanyeol took the offer, and the rest is history.

Much like Baekhyun, Chanyeol is a laidback person, until he’s on a job. Dealing with Park Chanyeol is one of the most tense interactions you’ll have in your whole life. It’s not even that he loses the joking personality – sure, sometimes he does, but, more than anything, it’s the rage that breaks over him in waves; promising unimaginable consequences if you cross him. Chanyeol can be ruthless, especially if he knows the person he’s dealing with has a chance of causing problems for him. Best to avoid doing deals with him – because he’ll collect what he thinks he’s due, no matter the circumstances.

D.O.: The Interrogator Name: Doh Kyungsoo

Kyungsoo is the ideal kind of man you would want for this line of work. He’s silent, straight to the point, unmerciful, and would get a job done without getting side-tracked. His promising results in squeezing information out of his victims, by whatever means, was what made Suho decide to hire him once the Kim family went under – which is where D.O. had learned to perfect his craft. Junmyeon knew that his father had a habit of undervaluing D.O.’s importance to the operations, and so, when he decided to form EXO, he approached the younger man (who was then a few years younger than him and still in his teens) with his proposal to join right away. And Suho would never forget his answer: “I deal in results. Show me yours first, and then come talk to me.” When Suho successfully proved himself capable of overthrowing the Kim syndicate, D.O. joined without question, and had been a trusted member of the inner circle since.

Kai: The Driver/Bodyguard Name: Kim Jongin

Kai was a classic case of working his way through the ranks, eventually coming to land in the inner circle after many missions as a lower-tiered gang member. He actually was suggested to Junmyeon by Yixing, when a deal had gone south, leading to a police chase in which Kai had managed to impress the ambassador with his insanely precise evasion skills, losing the police all without getting a scratch on the car. It had been horrifying for Lay – sitting in the passenger seat while this young bodyguard drove up onto sidewalks, whipped them into reverse going 90 miles an hour, and even driving under a semi, but it was also impressive as shit. Now, Kai was the designated driver for all their big jobs and acted as extra muscle when they knew that there was a chance a deal could go sour. Kai is one of the youngest members in the circle, so some of the older one’s had some trouble at the beginning but have now warmed up to him. Each of them trust him with their life, and while they don’t really need a bodyguard (being part of an inner circle in the most feared mafia group in the world), having him by their side definitely makes them more at ease during dodgy jobs.

Sehun: The Hacker Name: Oh Sehun

The final of the 9, and the youngest. Oh Sehun made his name when he was very, very young as being a technical genius. Anything to do with a computer, he could figure out. He even hacked into a military system when he was in middle school and was put into several government sponsored summer-camps to help grow his intellect – an oversight on the governments part. He is the only member of the 9 to actually seek EXO out first, and in a big way – by contacting Suho directly, with a proposition. The police were starting to close in on him – his youth having blocked his judgement a little and making him less careful than he should have been. He offered the mob boss, who at the time had been just starting to get his forces together, his technical expertise in exchange for safety in the ranks. Suho probably would have had him eliminated as a threat, however, with his proposition came a file, containing all the broken-down backroom movements of his family, which he had not had access to having not been the heir to the empire. Using this, he could break down the pillars of his families alliances, so, once he checked the authenticity of the information, Sehun’s offer was quickly accepted. Working with EXO, there isn’t anyone, or anything, that can be hidden from Oh Sehun with enough time. Security cameras, bank accounts, personal documents – if Suho wants it, Sehun can get it. This makes him indispensable to the group and gives him the security to play as he likes in his free time.

dating exists here and there in the kpop world, and the manager is a benefactor too, afaik also isac was the best dating place in public told by Sunny SNSD and that MC (junhyunmoo), the best example was Chen Exo and his wife, his wife was Exo fans and fansite too I think and yeah that really exist and scandal of Baekhyun and Taeyeon was one of the craziest dating scenes in kpop

the manager bit tho I'm not really sure, like maybe they get compensated for that or they're really close with their idol but I just remember jeongyeon being pissed driving jihyo to see Daniel every time they went out before the reveal (might be wrong here I can't really remember) so managers might be stressed as fuck if their idol got caught or something idfk 😭

I feel like BH would be very scary when mad 😳 He's usually so warm and sweet but when he's mad he is suddenly curt, cold and intimidating and you definitely wouldn't want to say or do any little thing that might annoy or upset him further. And his manly broad shoulders would seem 10 times broader lol. Would love your thoughts tho~~

absolutely! i think i mentioned here one time that we're all scared of kyungsoo, but we should also be scared of baekhyun. he's protective over his loved ones, so people should know better than overstep their boundaries (it doesn't matter if it's his family or friends). also, baekhyun isn't scared to speak his mind and his opinions - remember when he said that when he told lee sooman his opinions about superm he got scolded for 3 hours straight? yeah.

i feel like it would take A LOT to make baekhyun angry to the point of him wanting to physically fight someone. usually, i think he tends to raise his voice just a little bit when he's mad, not because he wants to scream at the person but to show that he won't back down? so he's like, firm and doesn't break eye contact. he's also really lawful, so if he gets into a fight with someone you can be sure that he will do anything in his power to "break" that person, to show them that they're wrong and that they will need to pay for whatever they have done to him/his loved ones.

Okay here it goes… I rly need solo stans to shut. the. fuck. up. Like rly I do. As we know, Baek had his concert (which looked fantastic btw! I’m so proud of him!) and ofc, some of members came to show their support (im sure if Sehun and Jongin weren’t enlisted/busy they’d be there. Same goes for Yixing). However some miserable people wanted to use this ammunition or proof (whatever the fuck they want to call it) that the members don’t like each other, completely over analyzing their actions/words. Tbh, it’s mainly Kyungsoo and Baekhyun stans I see this from. Tho some other solo fandoms have been yapping about too. For some reason, they’ve gotten brave since Ksoo and CBX left sm (ofc I’m happy that they’re out of the shithole that’s sm). Like it’s 20-fucking-24! And yall still don’t believe that they like each other yet? Seriously? They’ve been together for nearly 15 years at this point. And they are FUCKING GROWN ASS ADULTS! If they didn’t like each other or want to be around each other, then they wouldn’t interact at all outside of work. Yet, how many times do we hear stories of ppl running into them while they’re on LITERAL “DATES” WITH EACH OTHER. Stop treating them like they’re in high school ffs! Every time any member is asked about exo during solo activities, they always say how they’re lucky to have them and that they’re family/brothers/lifelong friends.

If you don’t like the group or certain members, fine. That’s how you feel. I can’t change that. But you need to shut your damn mouths and show some respect! As the saying goes: if you have nothing nice to say, then don’t say anything at all. Just remember, any of them members would burn you all alive to keep the others warm. Without a second’s hesitation.

Please forgive me for taking so long to reply. It has been a little hectic on my end. I’ve become rather disorganized and uninspired lately… >_<

Also, I’m trying to post more of my work, but it can be a bit nerve racking! When I receive this kind of encouragement though, I really can’t help but consider it. To answer your question, Baekhyun is the main character but Chanyeol does have a significant role as well! You’ll come to see that I write mostly Baekhyun…as a supposed Chanchen stan 😆

I haven’t seen the film, thank you for the recommendation! I have holidays coming up, so I would love to check it out during that time. You’ve come to the right person to suggest a “boring” film.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that I’ve grown a little weary of Exo’s powers (I say this very lightly because even I have written the powers), BUT I do enjoy when writers swap their abilities or completely change them, (giving Minseok fire powers for example).

If you like X-EXO stories, you should check out the story “Don’t Wake Me” by @vampwrrr . Baekhyun is one of the protagonists. It’s a fresh take on the concept. I think it’ll surprise you how Exo’s alter egos are used! The writer is a great storyteller and doesn’t settle for the typical fanfiction tropes & settings. They’re also Baekhyun biased.

I spent my childhood in a very dry place with monsoon seasons xD so I am grateful for this climate with 4 distinct seasons. Also, your cousin was attending medical school in NY? Wow. Smart cookie. Have they graduated now? You all must be so proud.

Ahhhhhh!! I love your Baekhyun analysis! I think you really hit the nail on the head with the facets of his personality. Choosing Candy as a representative song for the guy is such a big brain move.

Chanyeol: Autumn. He’s got bright energy and his demeanour is soft and warm, but he can also be rather moody. He reminds me of the inevitable appearance of winter. Although Autumn is deceptively beautiful, everything is decaying and will eventually be dormant until Spring. I didn’t mean for this to be so dark lol).

Jongdae: Spring. He’s bright and warm and tends to be introverted. His creativity is often underrated and blooms through lyricism. He’s not afraid to speak his mind but not at the expense of hurting others, but you’ll definitely see it on his face.

The Rescue (Update)

Punching and clawing at Haechan, the two hellhounds that tormented him only laughed at his pain. His misery.

"Had enough, Hyuckie?" The shorter one asked, another punch being thrown to Haechan's face who only groaned in pain.

"Fuck...you..." Haechan coughed up blood as the other hellhound held him up by the arms behind him.

A deep laugh came from the hellhound who held him up like their punching bag. "We can do that too. Not like you haven't had your fun up there." He throws Haechan's limp body to the shorter hound. Catching him and swiftly turning him around for the other one to start his round of fun on him.

Breaking one of his ribs with a strong right hand, Haechan yells in pain. The crack of it ringing in his ears as a punch was followed to his eye, the bone below it also breaking.

"Did you really think, you could come back here without a soul? Without a body for Hades to torment?"

"Baekhyun, Wonho. Stop it." Chanyeol, the first reborn hellhound of Hades says from his seat in a corner of the cell. "Leave the poor kid alone."

A scoff comes the other side of the cell where all five hounds where. "Why stop them? He was the one to escape here without helping us." An Australian accent said. "Him and Renjun never looked back to help us. All of the others also escaped and are up there having a blast and living their life while we rot here with Hades."

Chanyeol sighed as the chains that were wrapped around his ankles rattled with his movements. Baekhyun who held Haechan up, threw him to the side. A grunt coming from him as he cradled his side. "Let's not forget that Hyuck and some of the others have still come to see how we are doing from time to time."

It was Wonho's turn to scoff. His arms folding over his broad muscled chest, he turned to glare at the eldest as he spoke. "Yeah, we won't forget that, but let's also not forget that Kai and Lucas fucked us over too."

"Those bastards were our downfall to this fucking cell after they ratted us out to one of the demons." Baekhyun snarled.

Voices were beginning to be heard from a distance. Sarcastic and threatening words being thrown around as all the hounds from the cell turned to look.

"I swear I will fucking drown you in the boiling stream of blood if you keep asking us if we are there yet every fucking second we pass something." Kai snapped at Johnny, as all nine hounds had traveled through the underworld to rescue Haechan.

Kai leading the pack with Taeyong as Johnny, Ten, Hanbin, Jaehyun, Lucas, Jeno and Jaemin followed behind them in their hellhound forms.

"Yo, I'm just asking. It feels like an eternity in here since the last time Ten brought Jaehyun and I to train." Johnny says from behind him. Ten only nods as he kept his eyes wondering around the dark cave like path they were on. "Are we there yet, tho?" Johnny asked again after three minutes.

Kai could only roll his eyes, his claws only digging into his palms as he clenched them tightly.

Upon arriving to the holding cell that Hades had created for whenever one of them went out of line and tried to escape. They see four pairs of glowing red orange-ish eyes staring right back at them. A body laid limp on the floor as it didn't move at all.

"Shit. Did they kill Hyuck already?" Jeno asked from behind the group. His eyes widening once he saw some blood pooling from the body.

They all approached the cell with caution. Loud growls and snarls coming from three of the hounds inside it.

"You son of a bitch!" Baekhyun growled trying to claw at Kai who stood a distance from the cell, a grin taking over Kai's lips. "Open this fucking cell so I can rip your throat out with my teeth!"

"You would like that, wouldn't you hyung?" Kai laughed in the face of the angry smaller hellhound. Only provoking him more.

"We only came to get Haechan." Taeyong spoke up calmly, the key to the cell in his hand while he gave each hound inside the cell a look.

"No." Bang Chan growled from his corner. "You open that door and you take all of us with you or we will kill him in front of you."

Giving the hound with a scar down his eye, Taeyong contemplated on what to do. Risk the world with three psychotic hellhounds, or risk losing one of his own. "What about you?" He asks looking to Chanyeol, who laid on a stone bed. "What's your ultimatum, hyung?"

The tallest of the hellhounds and first reborn lifted his head and gave them a shrug of his shoulders. "I have none. I have already tried to escape here for millions of centuries."

"But this time you can actually be free." Jaehyun piped up from behind Ten and Hanbin.

"We took care of Hades." Lucas says in his deep voice. "We gave him a deal he couldn't resist."

With those words, Chanyeol stood up. His bones popping and cracking as he stretched. The hounds outside of the cell only taking in his height in awe as some had only known of him by stories told from Kai and Taeyong.

"What deal did you make with him?" Chanyeol asked while walking to pick up a badly injured Haechan. His torso completely clawed at, his back the same treatment, his face swelled up from the punches of Baekhyun and Wonho. Not to mention how they took turn digging their claws into his stomach that looked like he had gotten stabbed.

Taeyong goes to place the skeleton key in the keyhole, opening up the cell as Baekhyun and Wonho stood in defensive mode still. "We will tell you once we all leave this shit hole." Kai said.

Once Taeyong and Hanbin helped with taking off their chains and the collars that Hades made them wear. Making sure that Baekhyun, Wonho and Bang Chan wouldn't hurt the others, especially Kai and Lucas. They all walked with them through the burning hell that they called home, sadly. Chanyeol carried an unconscious Haechan from being tortured. He glanced down at him in his arms, watching him start to heal with his help.

"So, what deal did you make with Hades?" Bang Chan asked from besides Jaemin and Jeno.

Kai glanced to Lucas who was beside him. A sinister smirk shared between them as the others stayed silent with fear.

"We gave him Theseus' and Perseus' descendants." Kai answered with a wicked grin.

Chanyeol snapped his head to look over at the cocky hound as they all finally stepped out of the underworld. His face showing no emotion as he knew that they had just caused a new war to happen with the Greek Gods.

(before getting to the list tho, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your writing and it's helped me through some hard last weeks, so thank you for that 🥰)

So, first of all, fitting to this season, I can really recommend the whole universe album (I especially enjoy Fall), Sing for you and miracles in december, 10/10, always great

Then, we've got the classics - Baby don't cry, Mama (their debut, still hitting strong), Overdose

The title tracks obviously as well, but I especially really really love Tempo, the acapella part in the bridge is just out of this world good; also Lucky One is a really really good one (that I feel often gets overshadowed by Monster)

Now I could list a lot of side tracks, but I'm gonna try to keep it to two per Album ^^' and go through them chronologically

Secondly, sorry if it’s not really EXO related.

Please allow me to express my opinion and feelings to you, and forgive me for the next thoughts. So this thing has been on my mind lately… I don’t think idols realise that fans exist outside Asia and the US… and yeah, if I had to be honest, I’d say it kinda saddens me. I’m talking about the idols in general now (don’t get me wrong), and when they say stuff like “I love my fans so much” etc, I feel excluded, because I only see mostly Asian fans getting the chance to go to their concert or a fan meeting, or just simply see them at the airport and giving them presents.

I know that feeling like this is not a behaviour of a true fan, but! aren’t we allowed to feel, let’s say, jealous sometimes? I mean, it passes soon but it can also bring me down and I even feel guilty for not being able to be that fan who supports their idols in that way. Of course, I know how much easier it is to travel to those countries near Korea, but still.. especially, when a group/soloist has been in the industry for a while now, I think they could visit further countries too to give at least a tiny bit of chance to see them live.

i went to the theaters the other day to watch nct's concert, the "nct nation", you know? as i was going back home, i was talking to my sister's friend about the shows we went to, how much fun it was, and how much we wanted to see our favorite groups live (mine being exo, and hers being enhypen).

i told her that i already made my peace with the fact that maybe i'm gonna have to travel to asia to see exo live as a whole group, and that's okay. kpop is gaining more and more attention through the years, and that's amazing of course, i'm happy for that! but still, there are some things that will take more time to change.

i do believe exo cherish every fan and that they wanna go and meet as many of us as they can, but there's almost a gatekeeping with groups in korea, to the extend that some of them (not only exo members but other idols as well) think they're only famous and loved in korea. when nct 127 came to brazil, they were SHOCKED to see that we knew every song, that we screamed for every member and not only for our bias, etc. they did 3 concerts in a row, with very little seats left at the venue. they realized they're big here, you know?

i think exo would be just like that. they already know that places like japan, china, indonesia (and many more) love them, but they didn't have the chance to see that around the world and i partly blame it on sm. but things are changing for them now, baekhyun and kyungsoo have their own companies, so maybe that means we'll have more chances to see them live, who knows? it might take a while (and in exo case i think it will take a while, considering sekai's enlistment, the whole lawsuit that was going on and that definitely left a bitter taste for sm, etc), but eventually the way they see the whole world will change and opportunities will come their way.

so it's okay to feel that way, there is no such thing as "true fan behaviour" in my opinion. just please, know that you are loved and that exo do appreciate you! <3

CONCLUSION :

i think the reason why this goes around the way it does is because the 'thought process' of biases and bias wreckers are kind of different?

with biases, it's only natural to find similarities or something to relate to in another person and a para-social relationship isn't any different. and when you start you just never really stop. i also find that the bias is typically the person (or people) you're investing more time in, thinking about them, getting to know them through the screen...

whereas with biaswreckers, they're like photo bombs. they're a break from all of that. they're the ones you're thinking 'omg they're actually so fucking pretty what the hell' 'omg so fucking hilarious' 'nawww they're actually so gentle/strong etc'. they're a bit of a jump start.

Wikipedia only mentions Dreamcatcher, and that HF Music Company, which I'd assume is a subdivision (correct me if I'm wrong), manages a group called Classmate, no mention of the two groups you listed. Could you tell me more? Thanks 😊

KSDJFGSKD it is okay anon is not really that deep I'm not invested in this anymore ksadndlsafk but! the fact they are not even LISTED AKLSJDFLKSAGJ

but yeah Happy Face Ent. (itself) did create a boy group after dreamcatcher. they sent 2 trainees to Produce 101 s2 and one of them (Jinyoung) became like HUUUUUUGELY popular but instead of doing anything with it after he was eliminated they sent him and other trainees to another reality show (Mixnine) that exact same year which he won FIRST PLACE since ep 1 because he was THAT famous and had THAT much hype askdjalsk but that fell trhough and at the time they had the other trainees do V Lives, and starting from around march 2018 they had this group of 10 trainees (HNB = Happy Face Next Boys) regulary do lives and live shows and fans would vote for them to debut like.. every month. and then one day they said hey we are only debuting 5 of them lol and dropped literally one of the oldest trainees they had (which had been a very sad moment during their mixnine audition bc he did pass too mind you, shout out to Juhyeong 🫡) they did give Jinyoung and Hyunsoo a debut single as a unit and debuted D1CE shortly after, but Jinyoung's popularity had died by then and they didn't get promoted that much so they let them die quietly while one after the other went to the military (FUN DACT: when Yonggeun enlisted exo-l's thought he was Baekhyun who was enlisting the same day and took pics of him 😭😭😭)

they then terminated the contracts of most of the other trainees, but two of them (my Jungwoo and local legend Kosuke) were sent to another survival show (UNDER19) but they didn't make it and after that they were also let go. Jungwoo is currently a member and composer of NINE.i under the name VAHN and he is literally a music genius if you want some new music to listen to all their albums are bop after bop after bop (skip Neverland tho he wasn't feeling well that day)

anyways HF really was very nasty to the trainees but I understand why they gave up on them bc at the end of the day as a company you will favour the people that give you money over those who don't. that's why they always treated Jinyoung so well and forgot about the other 4 lmao
