Opinion on apples?

Only the sweet ones (red delicious, honey crisp, etc.) are good if they're sour at all they're an affront to god (inconvenience me specifically)

i've read about the legal case that got them classified as cakes for advantageous tax reasons, which i honestly think is complete bullshit: they certainly qualify as cookies according to the criteria list i developed for Cookie Clicker. apparently some classifier AI also categorized them as cakes in 2021 which is super bullshit.

anyway while the other cookies included in Cookie Clicker's box of brand biscuits upgrade have goofy modified names (Fig gluttons, Grease's cups etc) to circumvent trademarks, the term "jaffa cake" was never trademarked which means i get to include them as-is! yes the flavor text is a combo yogscast/carl sagan reference

The Count of Monte Cristo by Thunder (Dragon's Thunder Press)

This was my first book bind ever. The case is French toast. The 2 signatures are each made of 3 omelet folios, and they're sewn with mozzarella string cheese strands. The end pages are each a slice of prosciutto, and they're pasted in with raspberry fruit syrup. Finally, the titling was done with black icing.

Sandwiches (And Books) Are Beautiful by Velvetwastaken

The ‘book’ ultimately failed to be readable as such due to a betrayal by the onion binding. But it tasted amazing, and thus I think still encapsulated the spirit of edible book day: good books are meant to be devoured.

I baked a strawberry cake with buttercream icing. The buttercream set a bit too quickly for the marbled effect to work, and attempts to fix it caused structural damage, resulting in ... this. I would like half-points for retaining good flavor, despite appearances.

Brandy Snaps by Lottie

Brandy snaps for the pages, strawberry laces for thread. Complete with two weaver’s knots to tie the strawberry laces together

Book Cookies by six

Sadly not fully functional books - the cases are rigid sugar cookies baked into various open forms. The pages are edible wafer paper marked up here and there w/ an edible ink pen and the frosting quite tasty! Experimented with two different sizes and various page configurations. Fed some of them to various Renegade members. There were no fatalities.

Titles are overrated by Zhalfirin

I'm still baffled this turned out the way it did.

It's a delicious little baumkuchen chonker (app. A6 in size and about 6cm thick) cased in chocolate powdered marzipan.

wof headcanons but theyre oddly food and substance related for some reason

Although I understand why Tui didn't include very much info abt alchohol or drugs in a kids book there is an extreme lack of culinary related world building so here are some ideas I had while on this train of thought :)

SeaWings tend to be foodies and are generally given cooking classes in school. Which if you think about it, is rather important, because like 60 percent of the creatures in the ocean are poisonous and the rest have parasites and nasty germs so they need to know whats up when it comes to food safety.

SeaWings use a lot of citrus in their food and drinks and they also use it for fragrances and stuff they just really like it

SeaWing nobles commonly eat fugu and there have been assassinations where a chef was bribed to not properly take out the poison so the dragon eating it would die

SeaWings drink to taste. SkyWings drink to forget what century it is.

SkyWings typically eat their meat raw but on special occasions they will barbecue it and put some spices n stuff on it. They don't eat much else besides meat but they do like spicy things like peppers and they also like strong onion or garlic flavors. The little masochists. Anyway,

SkyWings don't really like sweet things and many of them can't even taste them so they're like wtf is a dessert

man do they love them some olives tho. Olives everywhere. In their drink. Out of the jar. On their meat. Oil on their scales. Oil in their hygiene products. They started trading them from the Sand and SeaWings millennia ago but theyve selectively bred ones that grow in the mountains

This one's more drugs than food but SkyWings will sometimes take some kind of stimulant before battle like a beserker so they're all fired up heheh

MudWings are excellent meal preparers and sibs like to all cook together so they'll make a big pot of stew or something

They like bread and desserts, they have easy access to sugar cane being along the east coast and they also use a lot of honey. They're re into canning stuff too, they have a lot of raspberries and blackberries and strawberries in their temperate forest areas and they grow them to make jam and wine and they use honey to make mead

basically they are Cottagecore(TM) and I love them

They also eat lots of freshwater fish and crawfish and whatnot

And they also eat a lot of tatoes

Vanilla grows in the swamps, they use that in their cakes

MudWings deserve some appreciation goddamnit their kingdom is biologically diverse and beautiful

SandWings have tequila because. Yknow. Cactus.

They eat a lot of bugs and lizards, they don't really need to eat every day so it's not a huge deal

they do like coconuts tho and they use coconut oil in a lot of their hygiene products as well as in their cooking

They deep fry a lot of shit. Idk where i got this but trust me. They love things with lots of fat in it bc they need all they can get

Really sticky sweet desserts and candy; enjoyers of those one lollipops with the mealworms or whatever tf in them

also canning stuff like bone broth is very important

rhey probably have a festival when cactus fruit goes in season

what even is IceWing cuisine.

Well way up north where there's nothing but ice it's pretty bad and the dragons have to eat just plain ass meat and seafood, but down into the tundras there's some pretty good stuff like cinnamon, pines for tea, honey berries, and other foraging as well as more diversity of meats

They would probably eat sushi

All the other tribes like to make fun of them and rightfully so bc their food is so plain

they make good honey berry wine tho

Maube that's why theyre so damn grumpy

RainWings are expert foragers ofc but they don't really feel the need to prepare their food in any way

They are, however, in constant dire need of sodium because they get absolutely none from their fruit

So anything salty is wow

Maybe rhey have a place near the mud kingdom border where they can grow some asparagus for salt

they are also the only tribe besides Night that can eat chocolate but forgor 💀 how to make it so the NightWings and them have to re figure it out together

NightWings used to be able to cook really well, especially desserts and pastry, but they forgor while they were trying to not die on the volcano

Today I got started thinking about raspberries.

Guys, I love raspberries. Raspberry iced tea, raspberry yogurt, raspberry smoothies, raspberries on their own. I adore them. They're a pretty color and when they're blended they're another pretty color and they taste amazing and they've got a super fun texture.

Tonight I was treating myself to one of my favorite foods: yogurt with honey and frozen raspberries mixed in. I can't get enough of that stuff (and being on an antibiotic gives me an excuse to eat as much yogurt as I want ;))

As I was stirring up my treat, I couldn't help but wonder: Did God know? Did God think about this moment? When God made bees, did He think about how their honey would sweeten my snack this evening? When God made cows, did He consider which cow's milk would make my yogurt? When God made raspberries, did He know we'd freeze them so we can eat them year round? Did He know how much I'd love the flavor and the color and the texture? Do you think I was on God's mind when he made raspberries?

Because I think I was, and it's incredible. God made raspberries and knew I'd love them. What else did He make with us on his mind? As He forms each daisy, does he think "I can't wait until Kazzy sees this one?" As He sends the sun and rain on the crops of wheat that'll become the flour that'll become the cakes I bake, does He think about the joy that I get from doing that? He created the sand that became the glass became the lenses of my glasses— when He did that, did he realize He was granting me greater sight?

I think He did know, and it's honestly blowing my mind how many blessings I have that remind me how often I am on God's mind.

God, thank you for raspberries, and yogurt and honey and sunshine, and all the little blessings I take for granted every moment 🙏

[Name] turns to their seated husband expectantly and motions to the deep fried delicacies that littered the large table. The large man places a finger on his bottom lip as he ponders his choices; they're all equally delicious, so he'll definitely have a hard time choosing which one to start with.

Katakuri feels his cheeks flush as he timidly shrugs his shoulders and gestures back to his lover with skyward palms, practically begging the h/c-ette to choose for him as he's incapable of doing so.

"I can't— I can't choose... 'm sorry..."

[Name] chuckles at their husband's shy demeanour; he's still so timid even after they've been married for nearly 5 years. Gosh, Katakuri was so damn cute.

Picking up an accompanying scoop and large bucket that was delivered with the desserts, the h/c-ette scoops doughnut-holes from the opened crate into the bucket until it was full about 2 inches from the top, before carrying it over to the seated dark raspberry haired man and crawling onto the bed.

[Name] nestles the bucket between Katakuri's legs before making him lay his head on their thighs. They grab a doughnut-hole and hold it to his lips as they give him a gentle smile.

"Say 'Ah'~"

we take our seats and sigh in relief as we sit down

chris opens his arms again to embrace me and i let him, this time feeling full comfort and love.

i must have fallen asleep, because the next time i opened my eyes the lights were on and the credits were playing.

"wake up baby" chris says, fingers in my hair.

i open my eyes and groan, getting up anyways.

"wheres nick and matt?" i ask him

"they're right outside they just went to throw away the trash." he responds and i nod, walking with him out the theatre doors.

"finally, you guys took forever" nick says and me and chris look at each other and just start laughing

when the laughter dies down, we see nick and matt giving us strange looks.

"what?" he asks as they look at eachother in disgust

"uh- dude your tongues are purple." matt says and i feel my cheeks flush in embarrassment,

looking down at my blue raspberry slushy and his cherry one.

i look over at chris, seeing his blank, speechless expression.

i nudge his shoulder and teasingly mumble,

"i told you cherry sucked."

he scoffs and we start bickering on the flavors as nick and matt walk away, unamused.
