I think Erik should have to work to get his happy ending, it's not easy but after everything he's done. It'll be in easy way out for him, but it also would depend on wither or not his ego will allow to him to move on or not. At least that's what I think, yes, Erik had hard life and it was unfair with the way he was treating for the way he looks. But it doesn't justify the way the cruelty nor the murders he's done. That's why Erik needs to work for his happy ending, he has grow as a person like Christine has.
I agree, Of course! But I think something some phans fail to realize is that Erik considers his ending happy and is clear about that, he tells Daroga he is happy and fulfilled and content to die before he walks away....that's as happy an ending as you can get in life. But people seem to think his happy ending can be only one thing: ... Marriage and kids? Lordy people need to stop telling Erik what his happy ending has to look like! 😆

Not usually one to post this sort of thing, but considering the historical significance I couldn’t not. Please enjoy.

Notes: Recorded from the Front Mez. The person beside me was enjoying some theatre snacks throughout the show, so apologies for any disturbances as a result of this. I also missed the very beginning of the Entr'acte, but there's a few other masters out there should you want to do an insert. Includes the full speeches during curtain call (including the boos when they mention the closing), and the shout out to the swings. We missed you Greg!
Truly a magical night, with absolutely amazing energy. As others have said, Emilie's "Wishing..." might be the best I've ever seen.
And to the guy outside the theatre with the sign asking for an extra Playbill, who I graciously gave my extra to, only to then notice him tuck it into his jacket and continue to stand there gathering more of the limited edition Playbills: the Opera Ghost is not pleased...
Erik: Christine's refusing to wear her glasses!
Christine: Erik, look, I wore the glasses for a day. My eyes are much better now. Watch.
Christine: *points to Raoul* Raoul.
Chrsitine: *points to Nadir* The Persian.
Christine: *points to Carlotta* Sasquatch.
