There’s something about this time of year, the muted metallic, junkyard palette of gold and pewter, jade, silver, rusted iron... last year’s lushness stripped bare and bleached, with skies like layers of rumpled denim and pearl, stonewashed... I’ll admit, I no longer fully trust the cycle of seasons, the complete return of teeming life year after year. I’ve read too much science, seen too much with my own eyes. I’ve cried over it, lost sleep over it, raged, carried signs, attended meetings and workshops, written articles, recorded podcasts, made art, banged drums, led group discussions, signed petitions, called legislators, organized events, and I’m continuing to do these things, try new things too. I’m currently organizing a free 2-hour community-building event in Mansfield, CT called “Facing the Climate Emergency Together” — look it up on Facebook, come join us, make some friends. It will be hopeful but real, sad but inspiring, and also, yes, fun. The green and growing season is coming, it will come, maybe with fewer insects, more heat. Life continues to be gorgeous, even in decline, even as we grieve, and struggle, and fail to find balance in a time of great imbalance. We can still find each other. We can still create and appreciate beauty. And you are not alone. And you are fine. Rocky Fretz here. 

I am really new here and just now trying to get a grasp on what’s possible with regard to providing my Fanily (Fans more like family) with the very best online experience of my music, videos and content sharing.

A Little About Me and My Music

I’m a career contemporary instrumental/sacred/jazz/classic rock/neo-classical/new age/Broadway and original music concert pianist/composer and recording artist.

I have performed more than 8,800 times with a life goal of performing at least 10,000 times.

Will Ackerman, the Grammy Award winning founder of Windham Hill Records is the producer of my CDs.

Of the 9 works in my discography, three Christmas music CDs, 5 original music CDs and one CD with a few of the covers I performed as the feature pianist for The Carolina Opry Show, a 2,000 seat theater stage show in Myrtle Beach, SC while there between 1986-2017. 

My last CD produced by Mr. Ackerman, “The Path Ahead” won the Independent Music Award for Best New Age Album in 2009.

I am actively seeking concert opportunities all over the Eastern and Northeast USA from July, 2018 through July 2019. 

Please feel free to contact me to host a concert. I play contemporary instrumental, adult contemporary, sacred, jazz, blues, Broadway, new age, classic rock and original music in all those genre as well.

My new CD, “Sacred Keys” is scheduled for recording Aug 20-29, 2018 with an October release planned. It will also be produced by Will Ackerman at Imaginary Road Studio in Southern Vermont.

“Sacred Keys” is slated to be a solo piano cd plus the orchestrated version of the solo pieces BOTH in a 2 CD package. You may pre-order “Sacred Keys” and receive much more than just the autographed CD!
