I can infer that it happened soon before DC Rebirth but I sorta don't care that it has been reconned. The fact that, in at least one timeline, Batman canonically became the god of all knowledge is too much of a shock to fully process.

I hate this. Have spent many hours since yesterday evening trying to re-acquire my squid ship and the damned thing just will. NOT. spawn.

I eventually started taking my usual screenshots of passing starships to keep track of how many different ones I’ve seen. I’m up to 20. There’s only 21 starships per star system, so yes, I have literally seen every one except the squid ship respawn. Multiple times even.

I’m especially kicking myself because:

I do backups semi-regularly, but only discovered last night that my current backup batch wasn’t backing up my appdata directories (under which the saves are stored).

I’ve thought several times since acquiring it that “oh yeah, I should use the save editor to check and note down what the seed value for this starship is, so I can give it to myself on future saves if I want it again badly enough”, and then never did that thing.

I cannot express my loathing for NMS having overwritten my manual save strongly enough. What am I going to have to do, backup the saves before every play session just in case!? Because I will do that thing but it will annoy the crap out of me every time I run that batch.
