i think we collectively don’t talk about the relationship between annoying theater kids and never being taken seriously. like yeah the spring show is everything to this kid because where else are they supposed to find a place to be taken seriously for what they want to do. maybe i’m projecting, but as a kid who was never taken seriously, having big powerful adults (directors) put their trust (a role/job) in a kid who didn’t believe in themselves is kind of a life altering experience. and yeah i’ll probably be annoying about this revival soundtrack to everyone around me because i was told i was important

Theater Camp
I feel emotional because I wish when I was a kid I had a place to play and be dramatic and sing and be comforted by others having the same interest as me. I love theater and musicals but was never apart of them and like biggest regret ever.
I loved the movie, clearly, and had so much fun.

wasn’t expecting to ever have “tech kid who actually wants to/can perform” representation but theater camp (2023) really gave it to me
