I don’t know if this is properly meta or not, since it’s a pretty minor question, but what species of snake do you think Faust could be based off of?
On the wiki it says Ball Python, and if you look up albino ball pythons, you can see where that inspiration comes from.
Tumblr media
I’m hazard to agree, though I do think the marking along her back are more synonymous with a diamond marking than the blotches on pythons. But alas. I am not a snake expert. 🍵

The Epic Conclusion of the Snystery: aka, the SNAQ (snake faq)🐍
Faust is canonically based off of:
a ball python
Albino Ball Pythons have a morph that can cause them to appear a lavender hue. (Lavender Snow Ball Pythons)
Other purple-ish morphs include mystic potion, as anon as said above!
Faust’s markings look like they could have been inspired by:
a lavender corn snake
Faust’s snarents are canonically inspired by
corn snakes/king snakes (Chimes)
hognose snakes (Flamel)
We are lucky to have many snexperts (snake experts) and snetectives (snake detectives) in the community.
