Genuinely being a single woman in my thirties, living alone, is such a mixed blessing sometimes. I do love my house and when I'm here I literally never want to leave. But on the other hand, I do get tired of leaving to go hang out with people, even though I love seeing them. Especially because I have such a great group of friends but they live all over the place, geographically, and therefore most of them don't know each other. And I actually really love hosting? But I never have people in my house because logistically it's always more practical for me to go to them than vice versa.
But sometimes I buy new old dishes and wanna just have a little fancy wizard party, but all my guests are far away. Please may I have the teleport spell. Or a high-speed commuter rail system.

oh that post abt shadow first arriving reminds me! is sonic confused at all that shadow (stranger, out-of-towner) knows his name? does he expect his legendary snowboarding skills are widely-renouned? does he just think nothing of it?
yeah, he's not really phased by it. after all, his sponsor leaves town all the time. he wouldn't be surprised if he bragged about sonic's skills to other people while he was away. in fact, he kind of assumes that shadow literally came to town TO see him (which. i mean. he's not wrong). he probably cracks a joke about writing shadow an autograph, too
the only thing sonic is taken aback by is shadow himself. like, they... don't really get visitors up there (by design). so shadow would've been the first one he'd ever seen. and that's more noteworthy to him than shadow already knowing his name. really, sonic just wants to know more about SHADOW

The solar eclipse is gonna happen on the 8th (also happens to be my mom's birthday) and people are already coming in from out of town and it's gonna be really funny because they're predicting it's gonna be completely overcast during the eclipse lol
Like our town is one of the ones in the totality line and is the second (or third?) smallest town on it and we have a total of two motels and one hotel (if you can call it that) and theyve been booked solid for these two weeks since like January. These people are gonna be bored as fuck for the next week. I've lived here for almost three decades and I've never been not bored. The only stores that are still open in the "historic downtown" are the Dollar General, a shitty antique store and the hookah store with the Cheech and Chong gnomes in the window. Closest thing we have to a restaurant is Whataburger.
I saw a family pulled over on the side of the road yesterday all crowded around a tiny patch of Bluebonnets taking pictures, which was just really funny to me because around the corner was an entire field of them and I'm like oh boy when they drive another mile they're gonna lose their fucking minds.
I guess if they get excited about wildflowers then they might not be so bored after all. Just hope they watch the roads while they're driving. 🫣

Mer AU: Everyone likes Lotor except for Keith who can't stand him + Mer communicate telepathically except for Keith who is 'deaf' in human form and mute as a mer + Lotor can pass for human despite most mer being able to sense each other suggesting some level of non-standard ability
Is Lotor telepathically influencing people on top of his usual charm in order to get ahead?
There may possibly be some very subtle manipulation going on there, but the reality is that Lotor simply knows how to turn on the charm. Keith just sees through his bullshit because the kind of practice charm that works on everyone else just kind of falls flat with him. But also so does sincerity unless you bluntly spell it out for him.
He can't really avoid Lotor, because he has his hands in a lot of local events that Keith usually winds up participating in with Shiro, since Shiro always signs them both up. But he mostly lets Shiro deal with him. He's better at that sort of thing.
If Lotor's using his influence for anything, it's getting people to... overlook certain details. Like how every so often, people who go out on a diving expeditions with his company or stay at his hotel don't return. Oh they went missing, surely, but clearly Lotor has nothing to do with it.

ugh I’ve got 90s Camden dirtbags Jegulus and black brothers healing fic brainrot and it won’t go away
Oh how I mourn 90s Camden market, how can you feel nostalgic for a time you never experienced you may ask? WELL…may or may not be a lil obsessed with it (it was genuinely amazing in the 90s, kind of sketchy but also home to the eccentric of London, the queers, the punks, the goths and ughhhh it won’t leave me alone)
ok so…rubble or sin (a current WIP of mine on ao3 for those who don’t know) is NOT abandoned. It’s very much still on my mind and a new chapter will be coming out soon BUT I might also start this…
(Lil info about Camden now in the tags for ppl who don’t live in London)

last night after i took my nite weed i was laying in bed thinking about how silly it is that gay romance authors will write a book about a couple in a small town and then after that one goes well will make it into a series where multiple couples meet and live in this small town and i was making myself laugh at them all colonizing a street together. all their little gay households in a row, taking over this small town. building a little queer cul-de-sac in some rural area. and then i was really making myself laugh thinking about how on main street they have to have their gay little businesses right in a row- coffeeshop, pottery studio, hardware store. but no the pottery studio owner and the cafe owner are too similar what if it’s a school?? university right in between the hardware store and the pottery studio. THAT’s funny. but then what’s the point of having a hardware store and a pottery studio when those are things that can be in the school?? so then we’ve got a shop professor a ceramics professor and an english professor and at THAT point why aren’t they just in a throuple? taking myself out with my genius. just have them all date because they all work together. at this point i had myself in near hysterics thinking about just tweeting “shop professor ceramics professor english professor throuple” with no context but was hanging on to enough of my senses to realize that wouldn’t make sense to anyone at all without context & would take way too long to explain the joke. but at least i solved the small town gay business issue. more of them should be about throuples. anyway there’s also no such thing as a shop professor

you gonna watch the eclipse on monday?
honestly, I really don't have a choice. my town is literally going to be so jam packed my entire university decided to cancel classes that day, and on top of that, my town decided to block off my only two routes to get downtown. so I'm having myself a little staycation and watching the eclipse. at home. by myself.

Today was frustrating but more or less productive. I'm feeling a lot better about my bookselling business, even though there's still a middleman to work with and we're still in the red. I think it'll start paying for itself more soon. Hoping, anyway. Crossing fingers.
If it starts picking up, maybe I could eventually move to a brick and mortar shop? That would be the dream. I just live in a poor location for it.

I booked a reservation at some random restaurant for dinner with my grandma. When we get in, there's Norman Reedus. Everywhere. The interior decor and playlist of music just had me in a confused fray as I kept seeing images of Norman Reedus plastered around this place. I was having a whole ass crisis because I wanted to know why this place seemingly was obsessed with the dude. It was a Norman Reedus restaurant.
