okay i finished watching Profit and Lace (fucking YIKES) and obviously its transphobic as all hell, but something that ive been thinking about that makes me particularly furious is that this could've SO EASILY been a really good episode!! like, keep the whole concept of Ishka starting the feminist revolution and then having her heart attack, but instead of giving Quark gender reassignment surgery, they should've just brought back Pel!! need a Ferengi woman with really good business skills?? just write in that she just happens to be visiting the station or something, and then she can run the meeting!! you can still have your identity comedy, but it can come from Nilva refusing to speak with anyone but Ishka and so Pel has to pretend to be her. anyway i will forever be furious that this isn't the episode we got.
