So. I really struggled through this one. I’m pretty sure I hit another wall in my fantasy reading slump 😭. I did really enjoy being back in this world. But I have to admit, Silver was not my favorite narrator for most of Drowned Country. He did grow on me by the end though!
I loved the second half of the book so much. I loved that we got to see more of the Woods and all the creatures that live/move through it. I also really loved the happy ending that we got for Silver and Tobias, they deserved it after everything they went through. So all in all, this one is getting a four out of five stars.

I don’t think I’ve been this stunned by a book in long time. Silver in the Wood took my breath away with its soft and creeping story. A magical forest, a cottage in the woods, a cute cat, dryads for friends, and a little bit of monster hunting. This is a book that cottagecore dreams are made of.
Silver in the Wood is like a fairytale daydream that’s gone just a little bit wrong. It was absolutely lovely and creepy and somehow comforting all in the same breath. I loved Tobias and Henry. They were so soft with each other and Henry’s flirting was so cute and sweet. I also loved Bramble the dryad! I liked that Bramble was so protective of her sort-of-human friend and she just wanted him to go and grow and do people things.
This book was like being hugged by the woods. It was just such a magical and whimsical read and now I want more books like this. Silver in the Wood is getting a solid five stars. And I would highly recommend this if you love wild places and the things that live in them.
