Disney's The Haunted Mansion | Medusa's Changing Portrait (2003 Film Version)
Medusa's changing portrait (the gorgon) from the Disney Theme Park Attraction, "The Haunted Mansion", appearing in the 2003 film is applied on Sir Frederic Leighton's "Portrait of a Roman Lady". It's the portrait of Anna Risi (a.k.a. Nanna). She becomes Medusa's gorgon form, with Caravaggio's depiction of the severed head of "Medusa" on a shield being applied when the portrait transforms.
On the DVD Menu of the 2003 film, "The Haunted Mansion", the portrait of Anna "Nanna" Risi appears in the main "Set Up" where she transformed. If you have "The Haunted Mansion" on DVD and you wish to see this portrait, here are the following two steps below:
Lost my mind laughing over this bit in The Gorgon (1964) where Christopher Lee pushes two men completely out of frame like it’s nothing, then scrambles up some stairs on all fours
It's September 2/6 = 1/3 (Ed. AAAARRRGGGGHHH! How can this guy do fractions, but not get the date right?) and Griselda is hitting the salon for a new 'do in preparation for the big day.
A horror film in the classic hummer style, reminiscent of a theatrical production.
Not a scary movie, the intrigue of which is revealed from the very beginning. The Gorgon's makeup is pretty good, though.
Christopher Lee has a funny wig and mustache (his character acted like Sherlock Holmes on a mission). Peter Cushing's character is a sad man, running a hospital, in love with a beautiful assistant. And for some reason ordering the local police around. (Drum roll, Peter is a doctor again. Poor thing, again forced to touch other people's brains and wear a lab coat).
