Summary: You and Bianca watch a horror movie. She comes to the realisation that she does not enjoy those types of movies.

You and Bianca had decided to have a cozy night in, complete with snacks, blankets, and a horror movie marathon. It was your idea to watch the scariest films you could find, but you hadn't anticipated how much the genre would affect Bianca.

As the night settled in, you and Bianca sat on the couch, cuddled under a warm blanket, with a bowl of popcorn between you. The eerie opening credits of the horror movie you'd chosen began to roll, and Bianca gripped your hand tightly.

The first few minutes were relatively tame, but as the tension built on the screen, Bianca's grip on your hand grew even tighter. You couldn't help but sneak a glance at her. She was leaning closer to you, her wide eyes fixed on the TV, and her body tensed with each suspenseful moment.

You leaned over and whispered, "Hey, babe, are you okay?"

Bianca jumped at your voice, clearly startled by the unexpected interruption. She looked at you with a mix of fear and embarrassment, her heart racing.

You couldn't help but smile at her adorable reaction. "It's just a movie, Baby," you reassured her, trying to soothe her nerves.

Bianca nodded, but her eyes remained fixed on the screen as the horror on it intensified. You could feel her trembling, so you decided to take action.

Gently, you wrapped your arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer, offering her comfort and security. She relaxed into your embrace, her head resting against your chest. You could feel her racing heartbeat gradually slowing down as she felt safe in your arms.

"It's okay, B," you whispered softly, planting a gentle kiss on the top of her head. "I'm right here with you."

Bianca let out a sigh of relief and nodded, finally tearing her gaze away from the TV. She looked up at you with a grateful smile. "Thanks, babe. I didn't expect this movie to get to me like that."

You chuckled and brushed a strand of hair away from her face. "It happens to the best of us. This movie was pretty intense."

For the rest of the movie, you held Bianca close, occasionally offering words of comfort and reassurance whenever the scares on the screen became too much for her. And by the time the credits rolled, Bianca was no longer gripping your hand in fear; instead, she was holding it with a loving squeeze, grateful for your presence and comfort.

As you turned off the TV and prepared to head to bed, you couldn't help but smile. It had been an unexpected twist to your movie night, but it had also brought you closer to Bianca, proving that even the strongest of Superstars could be vulnerable in the face of a good horror flick.

Okay so, got here from a book on animal behavior but: Vulcan stand-up comedy as a competitive activity.

Because most Vulcans don't actually pretend they don't have emotions, it's all about self-regulation, right? And good comedy usually hinges on manipulating the relationship between our faculties of recognition and surprise in various ways, you can get pretty scientific with it.

So Vulcans go to the comedy act, and the idea is the comedian is trying to make you crack up, and the audience is trying to not even crack a smile, and if you do laugh, you lose. Like all in good fun, but Vulcans are both really competitive and really aware of how dangerous that urge can be to a society, so this could actually be classified as highly orthodox Surakian practice.

So of course the comedian has to actually be funny, or there's no challenge and the game is boring.

Which means the really good Vulcan comedians (most of whom tend to extremely dry delivery of their bits) are going to go around playing to packed houses, which mostly sit staring stonily back at them, with occasional breaks when someone loses it and reacts.

And after a show you'll have Vulcans walking out discussing with great approval how very humorous that was, with varying degrees of muted smugness or chagrin depending on if they won or lost.

I bet there are human comedians whose grandest fantasy is being good enough to do a set in Vulcana Regatta and have people going around bragging about not laughing at them.
