I did not think there world be a full blown theropy session complete will roleplay, or that not one but two of the players would have a very kids cartoon chracter trait of ‘it’s okay to not be happy all the time, but you can’t let your anger overtake you’. Or that the theropy session would be about dealing with your anger and how to properly manage it. Or that they would show what happens when you tey to suppress all your rage and others rage and it all comes out at once. Or that the would happen withing an hour of each other completly by accident cause a gnome wanted to do a kids cartoon joke of hitting things with a hammer.

But I’m really glad they did.

Kima:

Lady Kima dueled Thordak while he was being sealed into the Plane of Fire. She received equipment directly from Bahamut. She endured privation and torment at the hands of the duergar of Emberhold. And she married Allura Vysoren.

I love that her oath canonically changes from Devotion to Vengeance. Like Thordak came back and she took one look and was like omg fuck that one red dragon in particular and Bahamut went like yeah you go I got your back. Secondly, she is such a good spin on a class that is widely considered somewhat boring and stiff (rp wise, not mechanically)but I feel like the 'lawful good' aspect is usually very polarizing and there's a lot of prejudice towards it being uninteresting? and Kima is such a fresh fucking spin on the lawful good paladin trope? thirdly, Kima getting gifted a cool sword by Grog (a barbarian) in campaign one. Kima lending out that same cool sword to Yasha (a barbarian) in campaign two. I just love Kima and her soft spot for barbarians :D. fourth... ly? Kima is canonically taller than Scanlan, which is interesting because according to the PHB halflings are on average significantly smaller than gnomes, so even if we assume that Scanlan is somewhat short for a gnome, still means that Kima is a TALL halfling. so technically Allura & Kima are not tol & smol, but in fact both tall queens :D

It’s weird bc it’s not even that morri robbed her of her childhood, because she didn’t! fearne (self-proclaimed) had an excellent childhood! she was loved, she was happy, she just…didn’t have her parents. and didn’t have any idea that she was being kept from them. part of me doesn’t know why, but part of me knows exactly why.

no matter how beloved fearne’s been by her parents, by morri, it’s never been purely as fearne, if that makes sense? to her parents she’s been an idea for so long…to morri, perhaps not for long but at least at first, she was an object. another trinket. it’s like all those classic tales of the witch taking your firstborn but it’s real and perverse and it’s not even what the calloways agreed to?? because it seems like ira told them about the deal, but didn’t mention that fearne would be the thing exchanged in return for…her safety? for the glass? if it’s for the glass that makes it even worse, that genuinely does. such a betrayal of trust.
