Hi! I know you haven't replied yet so take your time but I wanted to know your opinion about the track titles!!! I hope it's okay that I'm sending another ask lol. I was so not expecting it yesterday and it made me a little more confused and excited for the album! I think i'm kinda right saying it will sound like rep mixed with folklore based on some of the titles but it also feels like it doesn't all fit together yet either. Like the first half was like rep a little bit with the Post collab being kinda like Endgame I guess and then there were titles that reminded me a lot of Lana that don't make a lot of sense for Taylor to me lol. I'm also curious about it starting with a collab but it could also be similar to Lavender Haze? I also think it could tell a story kinda in order or something which is like rep? But the last few songs reminded me of Folklore vibes and were more interesting maybe? My sister likes Alchemy and I liked the title track, which still reminds me of Dead Poets Society haha. And Clara Bow also shocked me.. and that's exactly where my mind went too lol. I wanna be her..I wanna be her..dressed in style like Claraaa..I was just singing that part the rest of the day. I was mostly surprised I actually knew a reference omg. I had to remind my sister who didn't know. Also the Slammer song reminded me of rep and Bonne and Clyde vibes too which could be why I felt that. What did you think? What were some of your favorites? What do you think it will sound like now? It's okay if you don't reply cuz I felt overwhelmed by everything yesterday too but I wanted to know your thoughts! Hope you're well! 🩷
i've seen a few people say the album / the vibes of the album remind them of lana — or ethel cain! i'm definitely interested in seeing more from this album, in terms of visuals — i wonder if music videos will also have this sepia tone, or if they'll be in color. i kind of answered this ask in my last ask, but i did spend a good chunk of time last night listening to the west end cast recording of bonnie & clyde. ugh such a good show! just like clLLLLLllarrAAAAAA. the slammer song reminds me of getaway car, which i'm intrigued about! i saw someone say this will be her the last five years, which i was like 🥴 i don't think that means what you think it does... haha. but i also did spend a good chunk of time listening to tl5y today. hope you're doing well, friend! 🤍

It’s been a bit bc I’ve been busy but what’s up I’m back. Anyways I was once again watching tl5y for Halloween because my sister called it a horror movie once and now that’s the only genre I can think of it in other than musical lmao. Anyways I was thinking how it really sounds like in the album a lot of the audio that Jeremy sings was recorded like, during a scene? Like just based on the audio and how echoey it is it sounds like the schmuel song was recorded live like while they were filming the scene and I love the idea of that so much because it just sounds so good 🥺🥺🥺🥺 also how sometimes like particularly in moving too fast he sounded like when he sings stuff for Varian and I love that too anyways hope you’re doing well ✌️ -🎵
Hoo boy I def relate to the busyness of life rn, life is crazy! Lol I get the horror reference, cause boy does that movie hurt and their relationship does have some truly terrible terrifying moments. I need to listen to more Varian stuff! I wasn’t able to watch the episodes when they aired but I’d love to see them. I wonder if they are on Disney+... hmmm.... OH and you are absolutely right about TL5Y! They are on record saying that they recorded live as much as humanly possible for the movie and that it made a huge difference in being to be in the moment with the acting. I love that music so much and he does an amazing job as Jamie... I just wish it didn’t break my heart so much! Thank you for sending me this - I love getting mail and it hardly ever happens! <3

So I came here to tell you I was reading Bring Me to Life for the first time and I died because chapter 2 started with “Moving Too Fast” because I’m a theatre freak especially for TL5Y. Also, unrelated to Veep, but I’ve seen Hamilton 4 times in Chicago and I loved your review. I was a history minor, so Hamilton means the world to me. That’s all!
Oh my god thank you so much for sending this in! I’ve been WAITING (not really but kind of) for someone to notice that there’s almost always a TL5Y reference in almost every single one my Dan/Amy stories...I think almost all the titles come from TLY5 songs, except Bring Me to Light (although that’s another musical reference), and there’s usually a TLY5 quote at the beginning of a story or chapter. Jamie’s songs are such a huge inspiration for writing Dan...Cathy isn’t really like Amy, but Jamie is like Dan in so many ways. It’s a great lesson in how to write a complete dickhead and make it interesting.
And that’s fantastic you were a history minor. Everyone should study more history. Chicago is one of my favorite cities ever 💙
I really hope you’re enjoying Bring Me To Light. The next chapter will be arriving soon.
