We had a wonderful visit at Highgrove Gardens, Prince Charles’ and Camilla Parker Bowles’ residence, yesterday. Unfortunately, it was strictly forbidden to photograph, except for the car park and the orchard cafe! I would highly recommend a visit there, if you have a chance, as the gardens are pretty spectacular. Prince Charles’s gardens are maintained in a completely organic way, and many parts are designed in a wild romantic style, which I loved. I was very surprised how much he lets natures have its course. We had a very delicious English Afternoon Tea there after touring the gardens. Headcanons that informed this design:

Upon joining the crew, Odelia knew that hoop skirts, while fabulous, were not practical so she converted one of her dresses into a first of its kind bloomer suit.

Odelia may have ran way from marriage, but she found love onboard the ship in the form of Denali Kolsch.

Odelia enjoys spending time with the Uhuru orphans and teaches them life skills like mending and sewing their clothes. 

I didn’t realize that she was originally based off of Hanna-barbera character Penelope Pitstop, but I’m trusting that I’m rewriting the fandom memory of Odelia Hazel Teasweet.

I’m in Richmond, VA for a conference and couldn’t resist taking myself out for afternoon tea at The Jefferson. This historic hotel has a fascinating history I would recommend googling, and I thoroughly enjoyed my tea time beneath the stained glass ceiling. Southern hospitality was evident in every aspect: from the setting, to the portions, to my attentive and engaging waiter. I sampled The Jefferson’s proprietary black tea blend, which was classic and satisfying. The savouries and sweets were all delicious, but I would have preferred a few less carbs. In-season chocolate covered strawberries always have my support, and the mousse cup tasted exactly like a churro, which was a pleasant surprise.
