She played internationally before joining teams within domestic leagues such as the American Basketball Association (ABA) and Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Clemson University before moving on to other collegiate coaching positions. In 2015, Yolett McPhee-McClain was appointed as the head coach of the Ole Miss women's basketball team, marking a significant milestone in her career.
