“I’m worried you’re going to squander a pitch opportunity for both of us,” Giovanni said. Miyamoto opened her mouth to interrupt him. He presented her the now-drinkable coffee and pressed on as she took it and drank greedily. “If we go about this right, approach from a position of strength, our boss could see this effort as an affirmation of our commitment to the initiative.”
“I’m not committed to this initiative. She ordered me to go with you,” Miyamoto stopped her swigging long enough to say.
“The initiative, as it stands, is vaguely defined. A number of projects could be argued as necessarily adjacent to its success. Or worth exploring in parallel.” As he spoke, Giovanni watched for signs that Miyamoto understood his implications. Staff, processing power, budget, resources… no researcher at Rocket Corp ever turned down access to more.
Miyamoto tossed back the dregs of the thermos and set it down with a hollow bonk . “Your mother keeps me busy enough, thanks.” Her eyes flashed with wicked glee. The innuendo was meant to put him off, and it usually did, but he had steeled himself against its eventuality once he brought up the boss.
“Too busy, perhaps.”

Today I found out what a Snom is and immediately thought of @yamujiburo’s comic and that Jessie needs to meet one!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Snowgasboard friend!!!! I can imagine so many cute ways Jessie meets one (or a whole squad!) and they become friends <3
And they evolve from friendship! Which also invites heartfelt storytelling

are you FUCKING kidding me. this is the wapeach that got instantly shot down by Miyamoto and banished to the Nintendo vault for practically 20 years????? this is literally the most inoffensive take they could have done on an "evil peach twin" and it was still too much for the old man.
i don't even know what to say at this point lmao. this in a nutshell i think perfectly shows why no matter how much cool shit nintendo does they'll always be held back

I don't know if it was because of the pandemic or because they had to save the budget for Liko's anime. The thing is that the end of Project Mew disappointed me.
But, at least they mentioned that Mew attacked a certain trainer who was looking for it, with fire and snow. What reminded me of the story of Miyamoto in Los Andes. She was looking for it to catch it for Team Rocket and then return to her daughter.
Since it's the Goh week, I took the opportunity to finish this comic.
Jessie's uniform version is from the Koko movie. Goh's shorts and sandals were worn in Alola.

Miyamoto's legacy
Word count: ~2k Ao3 mirror: Miyamoto's legacy Warnings: Implied character death Pairings: none Referenced in this fic. #1 . #2
“Look at this!” Go said, holding a book with a red cover in front of Ash.
“The thing you wanted me to see was…. A book…?” He knew his friend liked reading and science and all that but…
“No, what’s inside of it is what’s important!” Goh’s eyes shone as he spoke.
“Words…?”
“No! The recordings of my research!” Goh flipped through the book. He had just recently been traveling to a distant region –which Ash forgot the name for– where it was said to be Mew’s birthplace. “I found so many interesting things but more importantly, a tape! It was beaten up, buried in the snow, but Ren said he may find a way to restore the contents of it!” Goh pushed the book in Ash’s face, words scattered everywhere, arrows and doodles that only Goh could decypher. He sure was a smart guy but gosh, was his organization lackluster. “I called you because he is about to finish the restoration!”
“Oh, cool!” Ash avoided looking at the words that made his head hurt from Goh’s journal and instead choose to look at his friend. “What do you think is recorded there?”
“No clue!” He closed the book. “But I know it will be something good. I feel it.”
As they finished their talk, Ren entered the room, eager to announce that he had indeed just finished restoring the contents of the old tape.
“Maybe some parts will be cut off, but I managed to save most of it. Good thing the tape hadn’t unreeled with the time. It seems old.” He guided the boys to his desk, where his computer showed an audio data of sorts.
“That’s fine. Any information about Mew is good enough.” Goh said as Ren sat down on his chair as both boys leaned expectantly at the screen while he hovered the play button.
As Ren was about to press play, an alarmed group of employees entered the room screaming, making the group turn their full attention to them.
“It’s horrible! The Pokemon at the park are being stolen!” One of them said, tense with the news he had just given.
“They came in a balloon and broke the dome!” The other cried, holding her head in shock.
“They are using a weird machine to suck in the pokemon into it!“ The shorter of the three screamed.
“Team Rocket!” Ash and Goh said in unison.
“We tried what we could to stop them, but it’s impossible! The machine is too powerful!” The short one said again, shocked by the villainous machine’s power.
“We’ll take care of it!” Ash said as he and Goh ran out of the room. Ren followed after them.
“You three stay here and be careful!” He said as he too left the office to help the boys in the fight.
The three ran as fast as they could to the park area, worried for the pokemon’s safety, thinking how they would deal with Team Rocket’s new machine without destroying more of the park, worrying about how many pokemon they had already taken. And when they arrived, they found... nothing?
Ren, Goh and Ash looked at the Park as the pokemon went about as they normally did, playing, eating, resting and training. The dome was completely intact and nothing hinted that Team Rocket had been around.
“I don’t get it, where’s Team Rocket?” Ash asked in confusion.
“Why would those new employees lie about something like that?” Goh added to the wondering.
“AH!” Ren shouted, remembering something very important. “We don’t have new employees!”
The kids didn’t understand, what he meant by that? They just saw three employees dressed in uniforms that told them about–
“TEAM ROCKET!”
They run back to the office, just realizing they left the computer with the very important recording about Mew whereabouts alone with a villainous trio! They arrive at Ren’s desk only to find it completely empty, they took it. They took–
“MY COMPUTER!?”
---
“Did we really needed to steal everything? Couldn’t we just copy the audio file into the Rotom Phone?” James asked as Meowth is connecting the CPU to the energy outlet of the cabin they were using as a hideout in the moment.
“Do what with the what?” Jessie asked. She didn’t understand how they could take something from that big machine and put on something as small as the Rotom Phone. Then again, she didn’t understand how a Rotom was put there in the first place.
“This way we don’t need to find another keyboard, mouse or monitor. Why make things harder for us when they had everything we needed?” Meowth finished messing with the wires and tapped the power button in the computer and climbed on Wobbuffet to be able to look at the monitor on the desk.
The quartet all stared at the screen. It made a pretty sound and the desktop screen lit up. Meowth started opening all the folders that were visible on desktop, trying to find where even the recording could be. They passed by lots, lots of photos of François, the Magnemite; some downloads of their radio show –aww, we have a fan–; information about Goh’s pokemon; a shopping list that included lots of antiques and finally! The file they were looking for! Conveniently titled ‘Misterious recording about Mew that Go found’. Meowth clicked the file, opening an audio player program and without waiting, pressed play.
“Hi everyone! I'm Miyamoto! This is the peak of the highest mountain in this–”
The audio was corrupted, like Ren said some parts would be .
“–ountain range. Now please look to your right. It's right before dawn, and is freezing cold. It should be sum– but the mountains offer only blizzards. But it's all right. I, Miyam–– will give my best!”
The woman in the recording sighs before speaking in a whisper.
“I wonder how many years it's been since then though...”
The recording is silent for a few seconds after that, only the sound of the wind howling and the occasional glitch caused by the restoration being heard.
“I've become separated from the other Team Rocket members.”
Team Rocket? The woman in the recording is a member of Team Rocket? Miyamoto.. from Team Rocket. Couldn’t be…
“The only pers– –ccompanying me is the picture of my daugh–“
The door from the cabin was kicked open. The twerps had found them!
Goh called out his Cinderace while Ash commanded Pikachu to attack. James pulled out a pokeball and told Jessie to get ready. She didn’t hear. She was paying attention to the recording that still kept going.
“–ter whom I left behind as a small child.”
It is her. That’s…
She couldn’t think as Pikachu’s thunderbolt made direct contact with her and her peers. They all fell on the ground, the effects of static taking place. She hears crying coming from the recording.
“Why didn’t you call a pokemon?” James asked as he twitched in the ground next to her.
“I’m sorry, I was..” She stared as the other twerp, the one that is not Ash, moved to the computer. He was going to stop the audio. “Please don’t!”
Goh didn’t press the button and both kids looked at her. The recording goes on.
“But even if I'm like this, I'm going to wait.”
“Let me hear the rest.” She slowly gets back up, the effect of static still taking place.
“I'm going to keep on waiting.”
“What, so you can hear where Mew is located at? No way!” Goh moves to press the mouse button.
“PLEASE NO!” Jessie cries. Ash had never seen her beg for something in all the years he has known Team Rocket. “I … I think that’s my mother…”
“Yes, I'm waiting for –“
“You really expect us to believe that?” Goh asks, embarrassed that he even believed the first time when they were disguised. When he is decided on stopping this mess, Ash put a hand over his, stopping him from doing so. “What?”
“Let it play.”
“Maybe I can see – if I wait here at th–––“
“You believe her?” Goh asks. Of course Ash would. He always gives them the benefit of doubt, but c’mon. It’s Mew they’re talking about!
“I believed such a legend.”
“If they try anything we stop them” He answered, looking at Jessie, who moved closer to the desk, as if looking at the screen would make the audio clearer. “But I don’t think she is lying.” Goh lets go of the mouse and Ash of his hand, he does admit she looks almost… vulnerable.
“A phantom Pokémon will definitely make money. I'm going to make –ney, I promise you that!”
“Jess?” James and Meowth move closer to her now that the effect of static is finally wearing off. Her focus is still completely on the image of the audio waves and how they move when Miyamoto speaks.
“Huh? The blizzard.. it stopped... Oh... it's sunrise... The sun is rising!”
Both the boys and their starters sit at the ground, near the quartet of thieves and start to pay attention to the recordings as well.
“The – mountain is gleaming silver. It's just like a mountain of coins! Now, that feels good!”
A chime is heard.
“–That's...”
A pokemon’s cry is heard from the computer. Goh’s ears perk up at the sound. He would recognize it anywhere.
“You're...you're Mew!”
Goh gets up, excited that that’s indeed Mew! He knew that the tape had good stuff in it. He is about to talk and gush and… And stop that audio! Team Rocket can’t know more than that!
“My, you look sooo gentle. So you're Mew. Oh, hey look...look at thi– icture.”
Goh stops when he sees Jessie slightly shaking.
“This is my daughter, her name is Jessie. Isn't she cute?”
She feels her breath trapped in a hiccup. But she doesn’t cry. Mew does.
“Yeah...oh hey –ill you let me capture you? Please? Nursery school, kindergar– child care cost money.”
Jessie can hear her teammates starting to tear up. But she pays attention to the screen still, how the images move as the sound of the blowing wind are heard again.
“Huh? Where are you going? –ou're leaving? Hey you! Wait up. –won't let you do that. Once I hear talk of profits, I'm not going let this chance go!”
As the sound of the blizzard picks up, James places a hand on his mouth, trying to muffle his crying. He can’t help but feel bad for Jessie. Even if she doesn’t show it right now, he knows this must hurt.
“Huh? Where are you going?”
A heavy crunchy sound can be heard. And It’s coming closer. Is that an avalanche?
“What? This ––ad! What? Am I going to fall? After all–”
The sound of snow overcomes Miyamoto’s scream. Mew cries one last time before the recording ends.
The room is silent saved for James and Meowth quiet crying. No one dares to speak for a while. Jessie breaths over the knot in her throat.
“Thank you for letting me listen to it.” She doesn’t look at the boys.
“I’m… I’m sorry for not believing you...” Goh feels so guilty now. “And.. for your..” He can’t say it.
“It’s fine. I don’t remember much about her anyway.” Jessie answers, understanding what the young boy was struggling to say.
“Doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt.” Ash reply made everyone look at him. Even Jessie who was avoiding eye contact with everyone. “I, uh..” He was so nervous with everyone staring at him like that. What did he say that was so weird?
“It’s true.” Meowth saved him of explaining more. “I never had a family. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t want one.”
“Pika-pika pikachu-pika pikachu.”
“Exactly.” Meowth agreed.
“What did he say?” Goh asked.
“That even if you’ve chosen to part ways with someone, you are still allowed to miss them.”
“It seems all of us have some family problems.” James said mid tears. He couldn’t stop them from coming.
“I guess… I do miss her.” Jessie finally admitted. “Even if I don’t remember much about how she was. How she looked…” She stared back at the screen and smiled. “At least now I will remember how she sounds.”

OK folks, I think I need to presents you the stories fic and ideas about Team Rocket's organisation (and Jessie, because she's linked to them) I'm working with a friend of mine.
First of all, we started our ideas based on CD drama.
To the recall:
The events happened 20 years ago. Madame Boss (Giovanni's mother) already founded Team Rocket. She treat Giovanni as a brat boy (he's approximately 20y/o since he's 40/41 at OriginalSerie) and she seems more exaspered by him than loved him dearly.
Miyamoto (Jessie's mom) was elite agent of TR, have a sunshine personality, seems close to Mme Boss, and discovered Mew on her own with recording radios and stuffs. She was sent to Andes moutains by Mme Boss to capture Mew in order to make so much money and being powerfull. At the pic of the moutain, right when the sun hits, Miyamoto meets Mew and she show her picture of kid Jessie. Before her departure to oversea, she leaves Jessie 5y/o in orphanage/foster care. Unfortunately, an avalanche started, Mew run away and Miyamoto was swept away. Since then, she has been missing...
Now, our ideas about Team Rocket - PART 1 : The organization
- We decided to name Madame Boss Wanda. it's "Vandale" derive from "Voleur", so it's perfect for her. Plus, Wanda is a beautiful name.
- The HQ is at Celadon, under the Casino like in the games. They possess the inn in the town to have dorms and cafeteria for the members. They have training field in the forest in the North of the town. Since they're not in the Victory Road's moutains yet, there's no Rocket school and their technological and scientific section are not super large or advanced. Neither is their infirmary, it's very basic (to the point of having only single beds like in middle schools y'know? lol, or to carrying out operations on the spot).
- Miyamoto is named Jane (I think it's a fandom name that people already coming with? Like, to follow the pattern of gangsters name Calamity Jane). We think she's 35 years old in the drama, so she had Jessie at 30. She meets Jessie's dad (we named him Phil) in a bar at Celadon city. He's a police officer and doesn't know Jane is in Team Rocket (she made up a lie about her work). They quickly fall in love and become a couple. When Madame Boss learn that Jane has relationship with a police officer, she's not mad, she rather encourages Jane to continues the relationship in order to steal informations from him (even if it's risky). Jane and Phil share few years of many loveling moments and vacations trip together. After that, Phil has opportunitie to go to work at Unys, while Jane discover she's pregnant...
- Giovanni is advanced grunt, he's prefer doing solo missions because he feel that every partner he had keep him slow. He's impulsive, proud and arrogant due to his statut of Team Rocket's heir. He's good at pokemon battle.
- Despite being Boss's son, Madame Boss doesn't give him privileges. In fact, it's the opposite: she forces him to works twice harder to grant her wishes and expectations to be great. She thinks being tough to him is the way to make him strong. She don't hesitate to put him down. Like, "tough love" mindset, you know?
- Nanu is an officer in Kanto region, he's friend with Giovanni. Giovanni/Madame Boss make a deal with the police department: Giovanni denounce others gangs or teams wanted by the police, and the police close their eyes to TR's mischiefs.
-Archer is Giovanni's most loyal friend. Even if he's not team's up with Giovanni, he encourage him in his efforts and support him in his ideas. He believes that Giovanni will make a great leader in the future and Archer will be his right-hand man, just like in the games.
- Madame Boss recruted Ariane (who is a little younger than Giovanni, she's 18y/o). The old lady in charge of recruitment from Delibird's first episode (we named her Yolande) spot her in Johto region, doing evil stuffs, trying to recruit her but Ariane don't believe her or trust her. Yolande call Mme Boss to tell all about it, and Madame Boss flies as fast as she can in a private helicopter to meet and convince Ariane to be a part of Team Rocket.
(☝ this idea is already written, it's a standalone one-shot)

As someone who rarely remembered his dreams, and who registered little real-world significance in them when he did, Giovanni found it easy to dismiss their contents as little more than anxieties animated. That his brain would dramatically act out the stress of poor sleep, poor food, and a dismal field assignment like a dissatisfied Persian in a one-cat play seemed natural. So why did these last few leave him so unsettled?
Closing his eyes against the horizontal sun colored his vision the same sickening red as his savaged chest in-dream. Instead, Giovanni stared at the dirt, inhaling and exhaling with assuredly-intact anatomy.
Was that his only victory today - that he yet lived? In his imagination, the girl had stuck him down in a frontal assault, but in real life, she was killing him by evasion. Project progress was stalled on all fronts and few of his potential patrons were known for their patience, he thought bitterly. Aside from the horror show in his head, the day out-of-office and on the mountainside had passed largely-unseized, ticking by with each hot pulse of his under-tended bruise.
He was due the subconscious self-flagellation.
He needed to take more initiative.

Why I Love Hanamusa
I get this question very frequently but have never given a really in depth, definitive answer. All just kinda implied through my comics and spread out asks. So here's this I guess! Long post ahead:
Tumblr media
First, as a Pokémon fan in her mid 20s, I love seeing a ship where the characters are both in their mid/late 20s. Already, they’re much more relatable to me and my current experiences. Most Pokémon ships are between preteens, which can be cute but ultimately don’t interest me as much as they used to when I was a kid myself. Not enough to get super invested in and draw a lot of fanart for anyways haha.
I’ll also start by saying that canon doesn’t always influence whether or not I’ll ship something. I’m much more drawn to potential. Could the characters work together? Do their personalities work together in a nice way? I feel like this so much of fanon is anyways. Especially with queer relationships because they’re rarely depicted in the first place. A lot of the context for these ships is usually up to the fans to piece together or make up in general. And that’s the fun part to me!
Jessie and Delia have only met in the anime a handful of times. Any interaction they’ve had has either been pleasant, or just a typical Team Rocket interaction, with Delia dismissing them/not seeing them as a threat. Already a great jumping off point for me since, truly, they don’t have any actual beef or true, ill feelings towards each other. It’s not TOO out of the realm of possibility for them to potentially fall for each other. “But Jessie chased Delia’s son around trying to steal his Pokémon!” That’s where that dismissive and aloof attitude that Delia has comes into play. I’ll go more into Delia’s whole deal a bit later but I do think this aspect of her personality is a large reason why this ship can work. It’s not that she doesn’t care that Jessie has a bad past, but she can tell that, on the inside, Jessie’s a good person. And, in a scenario where Jessie is trying to become a better person, is forgiving enough to give her a shot. I feel like this is such a solid foundation for a ship. A character who has done wrong but is trying to be better and another character who is willing to help them be better. A classic dynamic!
It’s not just one-sided though; where Jessie is the only one benefitting and learning from the relationship. I believe Delia could get a lot out of being with someone like Jessie. To understand why, I think it’s important to know these characters’ respective backstories.
Jessie is an orphan/foster child who grew up in poverty. Her mother Miyamoto (from The Birth of Mewtwo) was a Team Rocket operative herself, who went on a mission to find Mew. In order to do this, she had to leave Jessie when she was just a toddler. Unfortunately, Miyamoto went MIA on her mission leaving Jessie to more or less fend for herself. Jessie went through life with zero stability, evident by her MANY different careers and constant moving around. It’s implied in the show that she went from foster home to foster home, and later in life tried being an idol, weather girl, florist, wine connoisseur, actress, most notably a nurse and finally a Team Rocket field agent. And even while in Team Rocket, she, James and Meowth were always doing odd jobs to get by. We see that Jessie used to be a sweet kid, and even adult, but the world and her circumstances repeatedly did her dirty, leading her to become the character we know today. Hot tempered, mean, selfish, etc. But despite this, her soft side does still shine through for the people and Pokémon she cares about. She is incredibly loyal.
Delia, unbeknownst to a lot of fans, also had a rough past (see Pocket Monsters: The Animation). Like Jessie, she had a lot of dreams and aspirations like wanting to be a model and even a trainer. But when she was 10, her mother didn’t let her, telling her that she had to stay home and learn to run the family restaurant (she’s an only child). Delia’s father left her and her mother to be a trainer, and never returned. When she was 18, she married Ash’s father and became pregnant shortly after. But right after Ash was born, he also set off to be a Pokémon trainer. And soon after that, her mother passed away, leaving Delia with just the restaurant and baby Ash. This gives so much context to Delia’s attitude in the show. We see that Delia is pained whenever Ash leaves on a journey, but she never shows that pain to anyone. ESPECIALLY Ash. She’s very quick to shoo him off when he shows any sign of wanting to go on another journey and even when he returns home, she acts more excited to see Pikachu than him almost every time. Without all this backstory, it’s easy to just read this as a funny gag, BUT with context, I think it really shows how quickly Delia shuts down and detaches in order to not confront her own feelings. She’s afraid of losing people and getting hurt again.
All that said, I think Jessie and Delia provide each other with EXACTLY what the other needs.
Aside from becoming rich and famous, Jessie’s biggest aspiration is to get married. In my opinion, this is more so an underlying want for love and stability. There is no one more stable in the show than Delia. Delia’s lived in Pallet her whole life, she’s worked at the same restaurant since she was young and she is always there when Ash comes back home. She has all the love, patience and stability Jessie needs and craves. While forgiving, Delia’s not stupid and can keep Jessie in check. Delia’s also just an angel, which I feel, would make Jessie want to be better. And on top of all this, on more of a surface level, Delia’s a chef and excellent cook. She shows love through cooking and Jessie, who grew up poor, regularly starving and eating snow, happily receives that love. Jessie’s able to live a happy and healthy life with someone like Delia.
Delia, as stated, is very stable. Likely pretty monotonous and solitary, especially living in such a small town like Pallet. This isn’t a bad thing but it’s a little sad when you consider that Delia also had dreams of traveling, being a model and a trainer. She had to give up so many dreams in order to fulfill her duties as a restaurant owner and mother. And even now, when Ash is off on his journey, she feels the need to always be home and be that stable pillar, leaving behind any ambitions she had, thinking it’s too late for her (she’s only 29 btw). But then along comes Jessie, dangerous, passionate, an absolute firecracker. Someone who’s whole life has been about chasing dreams and either, never giving up on them or finding a new dream to chase. Upon learning about Delia’s past aspirations, I could see Jessie pushing her towards them, letting her know that life’s too short and she has nothing to lose from trying. On top of this, Jessie’s also loyal. She, James and Meowth are depicted as doing anything for anyone who gives them food or shows them kindness. Delia does both so there’s no way Jessie would leave her. This fulfills an essential need for Delia, who is afraid of the people in her life leaving her.
There’s so much potential for mutual growth and learning between these two and I adore that. They compliment each other, they help each other and they bring out the best qualities in one another.
I’m not really sure how to end this and I could truly talk about them even more but I don’t want this to be tooooo long haha. OH I could end it with maybe the most funny aspect of this ship that I've brushed over and also what drew me to it in the first place. Jessie. As Ash’s stepmom. THE END.
