Tarquinia

Tarquinia (Etruscan name: Tarch'na or Tarch, Roman name: Tarquinii) is a town located on the western coast of central Italy which was an important Etruscan and then Roman settlement. It is famous today as the site of around 200 Etruscan tombs which were rich in artefacts and decorated with magnificent wall paintings showing lively scenes from mythology and Etruscan everyday life. The tombs are designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Nosotros dos, en el sofá del salón, una pareja etrusca, ciega a la nueva luz que irrumpe; sentados entre nuestras cosas, familiar y holgado el modo de vida, nada perdido aún del todo.

Santa Maria in Castello a Tarquinia

La sua storia si perde nel medioevo quando ne fu iniziata la costruzione nel 1121. La sua elegante facciata si apre all’interno del comprensorio murario fortificato su un ampio spiazzo su cui si eleva una torre gentilizia, la più alta della città. Colpisce della sua struttura la bella bifora che sovrasta i tre ingressi di cui quello centrale è il principale come mostra la particolare…
