scream 7 fires their highly successful female lead who revitalized their franchise & made them millions of dollars all because of her pro palestinian stance but not a single word from netflix on their side characters in an ensemble cast who are literally saying shit like “zionism is sexy” and advocating for absolutely no ceasefire under any circumstances. this is a hell world.

Hi yes that scene where Brett almost tells Reagan he needs her to stay but then it zooms in on her missing finger, her deadlines, her piles of pills, and he realizes that this place is tearing her inside out? GOOD SHIT THAT’S SOME GOOD SHIT

"Part of the tragedy of Roy is ageing, like, there comes a point where you have to accept your body can't do the things that you would like to carry on doing. Jason and I sort of talked about it early on that I think with Roy his plan was always play football until you can't and then kill yourself."

“Zionism is just the belief that Israel has the right to a state” has the same energy to me as “the civil war was a fight over states’ rights.” States’ rights to do what? Establish an Israeli state where? At the expense of whom? With the forcible removal of whom? With the ethnic cleansing of whom? CONTEXT BABES! CONTEXT!

TW: discussion of suic*de/depression
Roy Kent being a very high functioning perpetually depressed man is so fucking important to me. Like…so much of Ted Lasso is based on mental health and showing a high functioning depressed character (even if that’s unintentional) is so important for those types of conversations.
Like Roy is probably in the middle of a disassociation/suicidal ideation episode for 75% of seasons two and three and yet is for the most part functioning and showing up at his job and for his friends and it’s such great representation for a persistent depression.
Anyway I just love him and love how well Brett understands him.

"There is a God in Heaven, Mr. Holmes, and that same God who's punished that wicked man will show in His own good time my son's hands are guiltless of his blood."
Little moments from Granada's The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes S1Ep10. Dir. Ken Grieve. Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, David Burke as Dr. Watson, Colin Jeavons as Inspector Lestrade, Michael Solon as John Hector McFarlane, Helen Ryan as Mrs. McFarlane, and Johnathon Adams as Jonas Oldacre

it’s still so funny to me how phil dunster’s thought process on royjamie in a single interview went from “they should be together” / “i love the fanfiction,” to “roy is a paternal figure in his life,” and eventually all the way to “it’s a familial intimacy” / “mine and brett’s intimacy is far more sexually charged but we turned it into something far more platonic on screen.”
he acknowledges that the written character dynamic between roy and jamie was intended to be one of friendly protective mentorship. but then is basically like: well it could’ve easily been portrayed as romantic and carnal between us and we’re down but we held back because no one wanted to see that!
i fear what his version of not toning it down looks like.
