The Baffling Death of Takumi Miyaki | Trial 1.1 | Dan | RE: Cyril, Daichi

This week on Dan's Den, we cover the shocking murder of Clara Futura's spokesman Ryo Shinjitsu, aka Takumi Miyaki.

This case is a special one for the viewers because...

There are no viewers.

Well, not the thousands of ones Dan usually gets. It's just her and nineteen others forced to solve a mystery with nothing other than their intuition and a few clues.

This isn't how things usually go. There should be authorities. There should be coroners, there should be studies, there should be professional interrogations.

Dan shouldn't be here.

Baffling it was for sure. Even if she expected someone to die. It was still baffling being the one to discover the body. She's not new to death, yet she's completely new to encountering it in front of her person. This time, there was no screen separating her from it.

The shock is finally starting to fade off. Dan looks around at the set up. Admittedly, it's kind of cool. She feels like she's on a floor in the Enterprise for a minute before remembering that this isn't Star Trek but a murder trial.

“A-are you saying those other two in the file aren't Machiko and Utamaro? So...I wasn't the first one to see the body? Then who...”

Cyril speaks up, followed by Daichi. So Dan nods quickly to the latter's point. As one of the discoverers, this feels like it's something she needs to chime in.

“Right...If the first two discoverers haven't spoken up already, th-they're probably involved in the murder, right? They...they want the culprit to get away with it. And, it makes sense, yeah? It makes sense other parties would help. Cause...The videos. No one wanted that to happen. Whatever each got.”

Oh, this must be the alibi part. Whatever was she doing awake at 5AM?

“I uh, I was asleep too. A stomach ache woke me up, tho. So I went to the first aid room to get a pain killer and...”

She needs some more time. For now, Dan's Den is paused.
