I know the Sanders Sides fandom is supposed to be wholesome and means well but sometimes ... Roman gets this treatment

ah yes, I understand he can be filed under the jock bubble when standing next to Logan

okay - let me tell you, Roman may act before thinking, but that's not "dumbass." He may have his "not smart" moments but like, everybody does. It depends on your field. Logan may be the smartest one in the room because he's Logic but don't forget, he gets out of touch with slang and makes an effort to learn what he doesn't know. Roman has a strong skillset in the creatives as well as typical fairytale prince stuff like slaying the dragon witch. He definitely knows how to test swords for weight and method (does it stab? does it slash? what direction of slashing?) & if the enemy is the type you should aim for the head or aim for the heart & how to rhyme the word orange or purple & how to adjust his spec for the different producer(s) he's selling himself to.

Roman gets carried away and yeah that's the point of him as the aspirations, creativity, and dreams of the Sides. Yet it does make sense. ex, big castle = prince big dream = regular person's big dream is having your own living space

His set back is not "dumbass," it's his traditional prince values, his biases, and/or his pride

I guess Patton gets this too but I see Roman more > and Patton somehow gets away with parental wisdom in fan media.

Hulk in Marvel cartoons get this treatment too. He's always the "brawns and no brain" because comedy and I think the only cartoon ver of him where he is as smart as human Bruce off the top of my head is Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (to be fair, that cartoon strongly follows the comics). Thor is in the same boat.

obsessed with theater oberon being mad as hell about his inability to distinguish between himself and the role hes played for so long but instead of trying to get away from the theater to find out hes compelled to keep acting and whenever the theater performs a midsummer nights dream he diligently gets back on that stage because someone has to be oberon and hes the best at it

YES YES YOU GET ME Oberon barely ever leave the theater. It's not that he can't (when Castoria and/or Guda drag him outside he's doing just fine) but he just. Doesn't. He's here when there's a performance he's here when there's a rehearsal he's here after hour when all the nights are off. Sometimes when there's no one around he just plays on his own onstage to try to see if- maybe a part of "himself" slips through a character, or if a character fits better than another, anything. Oberon (metaphorically?) does not exist outside of the stage. Presumably he must be living somewhere since Castoria is hanging in the ceiling and there are moments when she can't find him no matter how hard she tries, but Oberon himself sure can't tell you where his house is or what it looks like.

i know it's recent history that we were all here for at type moon blog tainbocuailnge dot tumblr dot cum i just genuinely cannot get over the absolute insanity that was mahoyosweep. aniplex of america so blatantly wanted this game dead in the water. they didn't say a peep. they did not translate trailers. they did not so much as tweet about it let alone put any work into actual promotion. they didn't say a word about where you would be able to buy it until mere weeks before the release date when the word of mouth hype campaign was already in full swing. and then for some reason the amazon listings for the game went up a day before they were supposed to and within the few hours until they fixed that mistake it had already sold more copies than they expected to sell at all and aniplex of america had to make a public apology that basically came down to "sorry we didn't think you guys would actually buy the game"

..Everyone who uses ‘Neo’ power in Undertale has some connection to Alphys. This is highly speculative and a bit unhinged but bear with me. 

So we know the names Mettaton NEO, Spamton NEO, Jevil’s reference to ‘the true and Neo chaos’, and Queen’s mention of a ‘Neo Dark Fountain’(a Dark Fountain created within a Dark World). We may not completely know what, exactly, it means, but ‘neo’ is a word gaining more significance in Deltarune. But it DID originate in Undertale with Mettaton NEO. 

This post by @/tainbocuailnge brings up similarities between Undyne the Undying and Asriel Dreemurr, in terms of designs, speculating they are fueled by the same power. (’Everyone’s hearts beating as one.) 

Mettaton NEO has a few similar designs. Wide shoulder-guards, heart-shaped design in the center of the chest, one white glove (turned so we can’t see a heart-shape on it) 

Okay, so this is a very reach-y theory so far. Sure, one could say both Undyne and Asriel draw from the same kind of power, and yeah Mettaton NEO and Spamton NEO were probably meant as parallels or some kind of connection, but Mettaton clearly isn’t drawing from the same source of power as Undyne and Asriel-- he goes down in a single hit. 

But remember! Jevil! Jevil’s big thing with CHAOS. 

What are the edgy, ridiculous names of a lot of Asriel’s attacks? The ones that the narration makes a point of namedropping, which it does for absolutely no other monster, almost as if it WANTS you to notice something about his attack names!? 

Chaos Saber. 

Chaos Buster. 

There IS a connection between Asriel and ‘chaos’, a potential connection between Jevil and Asriel. And if there’s a connection between Jevil and Asriel, perhaps Undyne the Undying also has something to do with ‘chaos’ and ‘NEO’ as well. 

And as I said earlier, Alphys has some connection to all three NEO entities in Undertale. 

She designed Mettaton’s body. She revived Flowey, and therefore Asriel, via determination. She has many in-game crushes, but Undyne is the only one she canonically is confirmed to get with, and have her feelings reciprocated by, in any of Undertale’s many, MANY routes. 

Maybe it’s sheer coincidence. Maybe it’s a power Alphys was studying-- Mettaton says his human eradication features were never ‘fully’ removed, so perhaps enough of them were removed that he lost access to this power. Or perhaps it was always incomplete, and Mettaton was simply being the actor he always was. 

...Or perhaps I’m completely wrong about all this! Who knows! But Alphys is consistently pretty overlooked in meta and theories, so perhaps this is a sign that UT!Alphys was meddling with forces bigger than we ever anticipated, or that DR!Alphys will play a greater role than we ever assumed... she is the one who asked Kris and Susie to go to the supply closet together, when Noelle was the one who volunteered to go with Susie first... who knows!

Just had a 'what-if' angst idea inspired by Serglige Con Culainn/Oenét Emire, Oisín in Tir na nÓg, @tainbocuailnge's writings about CasCu, and his interlude in FGO.

What if Cú never returned after he was cured? Instead of Emer storming through the Otherworld to get him back, she faithfully waits for him until he recovers from sickness. Sure enough, he does but doesn't return immediately since he feels good in the Otherworld and he's in the company of his new fairy lover.

Eventually, he gets homesick, decides to return to the mortal world, and goes back to Ulster. He gets slapped with the reality that many years have passed by. Much of everything he knew, cared about, and praises of his heroic deeds are already long gone. Emer, who seems to have never aged, appears to him with a melancholic expression. She can only ask in a sardonic tone.

"Was it fun?"

Cú attempts to embrace her but before he can, she immediately disappears. Just like the rest, Emer too, was no longer around. The woman who 'greeted' him in his return was merely an apparition of his wife.

(Should I make this into a full-fledged fanfic? But then, can I take the angst??)
