View of Lily Rock Iddyllwild California a 1000ft granite monolith around 7000 ft above sea level. A rock climbers 🧗♀️dream and where I had my first rock climbing experience thanks 🙏 to my friend Ernesto Ale who tied a rope 150 ft up and let me have ago. It was simply amazing 😉 to say the least. Twice I’ve hiked to the summit of San Jancinto peak a 12 hour hike from Humber Park to the summit 3302 m elevation or take The Tranway. The last time was there was surreal hadn’t expected snow had taken the 🚊. Was dressed at the time in trainers shorts and short sleeves but still managed a 30 minute jog in knee deep snow only worrying more about getting lost in the alien 👾 environment than the actual cold. The tramway won’t take you to the summit but the views are breathtaking. If you are a lover of art and 🎶 especially Jazz then Iddlywild amongst the top 100 🖼 towns in the US is a must. According to the guy at the Idyllwild Nature Center, that little thing jutting out to the left of the higher peak is Tahquitz Peak. That rockface is where the Yosemite Decimal System was was developed, a system that is used to classify hikes and climbs to date (cool!). The Nature Center also taught me that according to the Native Americans, a demon is believed to live in that rock (not cool!), which I laughed off at first until I sprained my right ankle for the second time in my life yesterday afternoon (super not cool!). Yep, I’m blaming a demon in a tomb for that. I didn’t even think I had sprained it because I was able to walk on it right after it happened (you don’t want to know how it happened - it’s embarrassing).
