my body has been wracked with grief since the shooting at Club Q on Trans Day of Remembrance, exactly 42 years after the shooting in Greenwich at multiple gay bars. That it happened in the same week a gay bar in nyc has had a brick thrown through their window 3 times. for all the moments we don’t make the news for.
i don’t have anything transformative to say and i’m beyond empty. yet, i still find myself dreaming through death and massacre and criminalization,
of a world where we live long lives
of a world i get to meet you
of a world we kiss our lovers and friends not worrying it’ll be the last
of a world where you get home safe, a world where you got home safe.
i’m waiting for your “got home safe” text. i’m waiting to hear the door unlock and to know you survived.
i feel desperate to keep going, not out of spite but dedication. for every moment taken away from us i will carry you with me. and if an early grave comes for me we’ll still find a way forward.
it wasn’t your time and you’re still gone. rest in peace is a cheap salve but i hope you find it; rest and peace.

obsessed with the themes of breaking cycles woven throughout the prosecutor siblings’ characters and what it means for both of them. like i’ve written 5456345 words on franziska and her father specifically but the thing i want to talk about today is the fucking first trial in 3-5 because the last time an edgeworth and a von karma stood opposing counsel it ended in fucking murder. it ended in a tragedy so deep that it affected every conceivable character in the whole trilogy. but in bridge it is this... collaboration. it is miles edgeworth calling in a favour from his sister who is more than delighted to rise to the challenge. it is the presiding judge trying to tone down franziska’s fire and miles immediately objecting to the idea, no, no, let my sister crack her whip during trial, that’s her stim toy, it’s important and it makes her feel powerful. it is them riffing at one another and working together to figure this shit out, AND to help their friend who is too sick to be there himself. and it’s miles living his childhood dream and getting a chance to see what his life would have been, perhaps, if all that bullshit hadn’t happened, but it is also him standing side by side with a person who he only has and loves and gets because it happened. the universe took a father and gave him a sister and as if to whisper I’m sorry the cosmos named his sister karma.

How I draw clouds since they’re my favorite thing to draw! Literally nobody asked for a tutorial but I’m making one anyways! Note, I am looking at a reference photo I took which is always recommended in my opinion, but once you get clouds down more you can pretty easily freestyle them. Want to go from a solid sheet of color on your canvas to having trees and shit? this is for you.
Step 1: put a solid sheet of color down. maybe an ombre, airbrush tool is probably the best here. Try to have a canvas size with at least 1k on either end, be it horizontal or vertical. We’re going to want it to look really smooth, not pilexated.
Step 2: I personally never start with white or the lightest color of the clouds. Clouds are pretty white usually, but there’s a lot of grey and blue generally-I like to start with the middle-leaning-darkest shade, like this. Use a waterfolor-y brush or something similar if you can! Just makes your life easier.

okay so i love a lot of things about the new TOH episode, but as cheesy as this is gonna sound the thing i love the most is it shows that kindness and compassion is a cycle.
during the opening we see willow see that gus is in a very similar situation to her, and offers him some company as well as teaches him her dads' breathing exercise that helps her calm down.
next, we see gus show a lot of concern for hunter even if he's still wary of him at first, and later in the episode he teaches hunter the very same breathing exercise and also finds a way to sympathize with hunter and tells him, "not everybody's great, but not everyone's bad either".

The most beautiful thing about being transgender is finding love for the things I was taught to hate.
Every new body hair that is longer or darker or thicker brings me an indescribable joy. Every time i shave my hair i am reborn in golden euphoria. I look at my body, a work of art in progress, and i find the appreciation i was told i could never have unless i achieved air brushed perfection.
I build myself in my own image, creator and creation, and wonder how i ever let anyone tell me what i should be.

Last song: actually listening to Quetzacoatl Eats Plums by tmg right now! It's the first time I've heard it– I'm going through some old(er) mountain goats albums that I haven't heard of before. I'm not really listening to the lyrics but I like the vibes
Currently reading: My roommate got me to join book club bc the club got enough sga funding to buy us the books without us having to pay dues, so I'm reading The Authenticity Project! It's like, a little preachy? But not terrible! And it's free, so :P
Currently watching: Oh geez. I haven't watched in a while, but I'm about a season into Hannibal!
Last movie: Howl's Moving Castle!!! The first half of it, anyway. I put it on for background noise one night when I was in the middle of reading the book, and I tried to stop it when I got to *around* where I was in the book (when Sophie met Mrs. Pentstemmon).
Currently craving: see I've got a big box of crackers next to me right now and I've successfully stopped myself from eating them to the point of getting grossed out, so I think what I'm craving is to be back where I was maybe a half hour ago, stomach contents-wise, so that eating another cracker would fill me with joy instead of ennui. I'm craving the ability to crave.
