Still fascinating to me that there's people who truly think their experiences are universal, that because something is popular in the circles they run in means that everyone should know it and will insult and treat people like stupid uncultured swine for even perceived differences in experiences. or if folks disagree with them when they make overly broad generalizations on what 'everyone' knows or thinks.
(b/c it's not like poor people, people from different cultures/subcultures, and people with fundamentally different interests exist.)
Like? That's complete asshat behavior.

DUCKTALES for the ask game :3c
The first character I first fell in love with: as much as i want to say fethry bc he wasnt introduced until season 2 this is much harder to pick. i wanna say webby ? i did also really love huey fenton and lauchpad though i distinctly remember buddy system being the ep where i was like ok im going to be actively keeping up with this show now (instead of just kind of watching it as the mood occasionally struck)
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: HONESTLY I THINK GYRO ? LIKE so i thought he was funny and i didnt hate him or anything but a lot of his writing kind of frustrated me bc it felt like he would take like 1 step forward and 2 steps back. like he was the only one where ppl complaining abt the changes vs his 87 characterization kind of made sense to me. but yknow astroboyd actually kind of puts a lot of that early writing into new perspective that i can appreciate ! and i definitely see like the connective tissue between him and 87 gyro like as much as 87 gyro was more of a kindly goofball he also has his own maniacal insanity. and much in the same way i think '17 gyro's still got that touch of funny inventor whimsy ! hes just neat i like him
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: i was gonna say scrooge but really since im mostly indifferent to him im gonna go swing my bat at the hornet's nest and say mark beaks. i know this is by and far not universal but way more people like him than there should be. like he works as a joke and antagonistic force but outside of that who even cares man. hes just supposed to be an entitled racist creep like literally he was specifically made to be not that deep The character I love that everyone else hates: again tempted to be petty and say just pick literally any female character but i feel like della and goldie get the worst of it. im not even talking about criticisms of the writing where people think they could have been utilized more bc i agree with that ! just people dogging on them for being selfish or flat or this or that. sorry you dont support women's wrongs (although in della's case she like. made 1 mistake she couldnt fully predict the consequences of ? so not even all that wrong) but being more serious i really love both their characterization like especially della who has traditionally gotten maybe the 1 personality trait of Can Fly Things shes so boisterous and fun to watch and i personally think is both written and acted with a lot of love that shines through and she plays off of every character she interacts with (donald of course being the highlight) SO well i just cant even imagine hating her The character I used to love but don’t any longer: HMM.. i cant really think of any characters that ive soured on ? ig im a bit embarrassed to admit thinking jim/negaduck is a cool villain bc people are so weird about him but thats really a them problem when im actually watching the show it doesnt impede my enjoyment The character I would totally smooch: LIEUTENANT PENUMBRA MA'AM IM FREE FRIDAY NIGHT IF YOU WANTED T, The character I’d want to be like: 🥺🥺🥺 FETHRYYYY AGHH id love to be so unbridled and earnest in my passions just for starters. i feel like living in this day and age especially even the most genuine people can fall victim to shame or just being humiliated by things that are "weird" but ultimately harmless and this is cheesy but the older i get the more unsustainable i start to see that is but it does get really hard to shake off so ! i dunno. i think we could all stand to sing to more jars of krill and relentlessly bother people until they come see the ultimately mundane thing we think is cool. hes got the right idea The character I’d slap: see i was gonna say scrooge again but then i remembered he got smacked around in a sack by launchpad in the halloween special and suplexed to the ground by that woman in sword of swanstantine ! wish fulfilled and then some !! A pairing that I love: WHEWWW TOO MANY TO LIST !!! going purely off of canon i'd have to say della/penumbra bc i do love a classic odd couple (is it cheating to say dellumbra is canon ? maybe . but also like cmon) i wish we could have gotten to see more of the development between fenton and gandra bc who doesn't love some star-crossed intrigue BUT i am very enamored by the instances of their romance we did end up getting to see A pairing that I despise: remember when people were trying to ship louie and lena. what the fuck was that

on iorveth/roche.
to preface this: i do not think it is impossible for iorveth and roche to work as a relationship
like, i know i’m about to swing a bat at a hornet’s nest, but keep in mind i’m not actually saying that “oooh we can’t ship it” so nobody try and say that’s what i’m saying.
HOWEVER
can we maybe keep in mind a bit who they are? the units they command?  because the most prevalent idea i see is that they are mirrors, and that their units are analogous to each other, and that’s objectively untrue
the scoia’tael exist because nonhumans have been oppressed, and so nonhumans living in human society get fed up, and they flee, and they join these groups and fight for their lives and their people
the blue stripes exist to hunt nonhumans.
that’s not a mirror, that’s one existing to kill the other, and the other one would have existed no matter what
I also want to point out that because the Scoia’tael are truly just.. anyone who cares to fight for the cause, they aren’t trained.  there is no king or general or entity creating a training camp to make sure they’re ready before they go into the field, or disseminating propaganda about who they’re fighting.  they know from their own lives
the Blue Stripes are picked specially, trained in the Temerian military and brainwashed/manipulated, they have orders from higher ups (kings, generals), they are a military unit.
these two things are not equal.
now, see, what could absolutely be interesting is Roche being unaware of that imbalance because he’s been under the assumption that the scoia’tael are a military unit that function similarly to theirs, which allows them to not feel guilty over hunting them—to him this is just two military groups fighting
the point I’m trying to make here is that I think Roche might view Iorveth as this respected rival even before/during TW2, but Iorveth would never view Roche that way! to him, Roche is killing his people!
and I think that can be really interesting, if you put them in a position where Roche is no longer aimed at the Scoia’tael but rather fighting for a free Temeria and realizes what’s going on, maybe a slow trickle of hearing iorveth mention that no elves don’t get punished if they disobey orders, they should know it’s for their own good (in contrast to army camps with actual punishment details), and Roche realizing oh my god he was basically slaughtering civilians
my point is, I think it’s disingenuous to iorveth’s character to have him pining after a man who’s literally still in the process of carrying out genocide against his people (and if you don’t think it’s a genocide, I have a few paragraphs i can point you towards in Blood of Elves)
once again I think there could be a very interesting thing of having Roche feel some typa way to iorveth in TW2, and be frustrated with it, while Iorveth doesn’t view him that way at all until far, far later, when Roche has changed direction and realized what’s wrong with his unit
(to be clear, if it was somehow addressed that it’s not an equal conflict in this characterization of them somehow being together during TW2 i’d have less of an issue, my problem is with the idea that this is an equal rivals thing so it’s totally fine they’re secretly together.  because what i always see is this idea that the conflict is just that of rivals and not a completely imbalanced one)
.
tl;dr - iorveth and roche (and the scoia’tael & blue stripes) are not equals in the conflict and it’s really reckless to act like they’ve been ~secretly meeting up for years~ when roche is participating in genocide.  their relationship needs to happen after that is no longer the aim of the blue stripes and roche has realized he’s been misled (to thinking the scoia’tael are an equal and opposite force)
(hi also please ask me about iorveth, or even roche, stuff, i have So Many thoughts actually ive done a ridiculous amount of analysis on iorveth’s character, and extrapolation)

"Why do you always look at me like you're two seconds away from punching me in the face?"
Interesting choice! This one is essentially a collab between myself and my favorite person on Tumblr, @inkdropsonroses. We’re writing and RP partners. I decided to do a sort of rival pairing for this one: Tavi and Rissa.
“Why do you always look at me like you’re two seconds away from punching me in the face?!” Tavi let down her guard stance and threw off her sparring gloves in frustration. She’d tried to be welcoming towards Ari’s old collogue; Ari explained she’d been through a lot during their “villain years” and she thought they might get along well with some time. “You’re a councilor, if anyone can help her, you can.”
Exercise had been proving helpful for dealing with the angry energy that flared up on her rough days. In Tavi’s experience, sparring could usually work as a good bonding activity. Usually.
Rissa rolled her eyes and gave a deadpan “We’re sparring. I am about to punch you in the face.”“No, you always look at me like that.” She started pacing.
“Maybe because you never shut your beak!” (Bird jokes usually didn’t bother Tavi, but Rissa said it like an insult.) “In case you haven’t noticed, that’s my thing, I’m the loud one. I make jokes and I get other people to relax and open up too.” Rissa took off her own gloves and put both sets away. It was clear they were done for now. “Take a break Tweety. It might help me with my so called anger issues.” Hands free, she made air quotes around the last two words. “You had anger issues before you ever met any of us, I’m really not the cause of your problem.”“You don’t cause them, but you sure contribute to them. You’re one of those people who doesn’t know when to leave things alone. If you saw a hornet’s nest, you’d swing a bat at it. You’re not gonna get anywhere towards ‘cracking’ me by swinging a bat at me.”
Of course. It was a running theme, “You’re too impulsive, you charge headfirst, you’re too intense…”
‘“…Oh. So it’d be better if I just left you alone, right?”
She looked honestly dejected; Rissa knew she’d hit some sort of nerve. She tried to think of a way to be kinder about it. They did get along, on rare occasions, she shouldn’t completely write Tavi off as a source of friendship when it was clear the other was investing a lot of effort in her. As far as she could tell, Tavi never gave up on anyone. A good quality to have, she wished she herself could figure it out. “No, I didn’t say that, I mean-” she sighed.  “Y’know how your J can be in the same room with you but she kinda holds off until you’re ready to bring something up? Has a pretty good sense of what not to say?”  Tavi endlessly admired her girlfriend, maybe the example would help.
Tavi nodded. “I guess I know what you mean. But I’m not her, I mean she’s smart, a diplomat-”“If you weren’t smart, Aris wouldn’t like you as much as she does. And you’re a diplomat if breaking up your siblings’ fights is anything to go by.” ….Compliments? “Thanks, I’ll um, work on it. J probably has a How-To written up about it anyway.” “She’ll be keeping a manual like Aris does if they keep up.” Rissa smiled this time. As much as she and Ari could get on one another’s nerves, they cared about one another, and Rissa was glad to see the positive impact the relationship with J was having on Ari’s life.
“Until I figure it out, maybe you could gimme some kind of list? ‘How Not to Piss Off Rissa 101?’ The two of them might have the right idea.”
She got a chuckle and a smirk. Progress. “Okay Tweety. I’ll see if I can’t draw you something up. Now don’t tell me you’re gonna throw the match.” Mutually competitive, Tavi’s response was automatic. “Nah, I’ll get’cha tomorrow.” “Best two of three?” “Sure, if you think you can handle me!” “Slow down hotshot, don’t get cocky!”
They shared a laugh. Maybe Rissa could learn to be annoyed with her but care about her at the same time, like she and Ari did.
