@alizarinee tags inspired me to actually explain the reason why I went with those assignments for the redraws (P3R spoilers)

On P3R case, I have an actual AU where it simply makes more sense to me to have Joker as the one who falls in love with humanity in a way that would make him give up everything to protect their happiness, while Akechi is the lone depressed teen who has no trouble summoning his persona because of his disregard for his own life. It's about death and falling in love.

On P5R case, it's because Makoto was to match the P3R redraw of the protagonist being the one speaking but also because the harshness of Akechi's words just fit him better than Ryoji. But most importantly its because of Glasses Ryoji (which you can't even see on that redraw sadly)

I love hermit Akira sm. However I have to rewrite THE ENTIRE PALACE.

His shadow has much less of a role than Futabas, the three wardens the thieves encounter constantly eluding to the “deadly prisoner” being kept on the top floor of the prison.

Cognitive Ren, Kenji and Aya (YES THEIR PARENTS HAVE NAMES NOW.) act as unhelpful tour guides throughout the palace, leaving the thieves to handle enemies and puzzles on their own.

The final door to the solitary confinement cell is the equivalent to Akiras bedroom door. Up until Akiras awakening his shadow doesn’t really do much aside from begging the thieves to let him rot in his cell like he deserves and rambling about how he killed his family.

One day I’ll sit down and work out the mechanics and actual plotline. That day is not today.

I feel like people genuinely do not get how hilarious swap au for p5 is. Like if you leave their affinities and vibe (akechi can use multiple personas but still can make shadows go crazy and akira has arsenè but he’s also a changeling and a joker so satana is also still there and he can change their appearance and his own appearance however he wants) so it’s like. Akechi is still a little crazy but he was also adopted by Ann and Ryiji and they are like. Yeah he’s a little unhinged but he saved us we like him!!! Friends group to battle your angry issues!!

And Akira is this charming little shit detective with too much stuff inside who still wants to strangle Shido like 20 times a day. And like. Instead of having a mental breakdown killing spree (which Akechi has like ten times while they do their plan of not having him killed) he changes his appearance ten times before them and now he’s SAD and Akechi is like wel I was SADDER when you killed me and Akira is like *gasp* HOW DARE YOU.

I just think Joker if left alone makes show out of basically everything. He just majicks his way out signing and dancing and being the diva and living his Lupene dream the whole way. Also he’s way too easily distracted than Akechi so I think halfway he would be like “you know what i need a vacation shido can suck my-“ and after that they see him only when they came to juzz club and he’s singing there.

Like idk. Swap au is just to unintentionally funny because Phantom Thieves essentially have crazy leader who is one step away from shooting every target but they also love him and he grudgingly agrees. And Ace Detective is just overtheathrical dude who’s also probably makes everything overly sexual and suggestive just to make everyone uncomfortable. And then he’s also incredibly surprised when someone actually responds in kind.

Chaotic evil and lawful evil in their best incarnation.

Like idk it’s the biggest difference in them, Akechi acts because he needs to and just feels so much better when he says what he thinks. And Akira meeanwhile enjoys acting so much he’s just having the time of his life pretending.
