Been working on a series inspired by the 90’s and 2000’s skateboarding, surf, graffiti culture. This work is also very much inspired by the artists who gave birth to so much of the visual style that I’m currently exploring in this work (Barry McGee, Margarate Kilgallen, Ed Templeton, and Mark Gonzalez to name a few). These artist and skateboarders had a huge impact on me when I was a kid growing up Miami. Most of my teenage years, all I cared about was drawing and skateboarding. Back then, Miami didn’t have a big skateboarding scene, but my friends and I created our own little scene, and consumed all the skateboarding media available coming out of California and NYC. Later in life, I moved to San Francisco where I lived for almost 10 years. SF is where a fell in love with surfing. These experiences have shaped me as the creative person I am today and this work is a tribute to that culture. I hope to continue exploring this subject and visual style in my own unique way. Thanks for reading. . . . . . . #skateboarding #art #artist #90s #2000s #surf #surfculture #culture #miami #graffiti #woodcutout #acrylic #paintings https://www.instagram.com/p/Cpii-3dPMdB/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
