(Spoilers for the most recent lore episode of the Sun and Moon show)

So, now that Sun and Moon are back, and have the antivirus, here’s how I think things might go if they actually save Eclipse.

Eclipse will keep trying to help out with things, but Moon might make Eclipse sit around for a bit. When Eclipse tries to politely object, Moon mentions that he has no idea how dirty and/or messed up Eclipse’s body and system are, since he can’t check with the computer due to the computer’s condition and the condition of the daycare itself, and he’s not about to risk Eclipse breaking by working too much. He didn’t save Eclipse for nothing after all, especially since Moon was originally set on just killing Ruin.

Eclipse, trying his best to take it easy and not stress out his body, goes around trying to talk to the others. He keeps apologizing every time someone brings up something Ruin did, despite knowing deep down that none of those things were his fault.

He just feels like the least he can do in the moment is apologize. Apologizing also just helps him feel a little bit better.

In the beginning, Eclipse speaks softly, tends to make himself look small, and stutters a bit. But as time goes on, and he gets a new body, since I think Moon would get him a new one eventually, Eclipse slowly starts to get more comfortable and slowly acts more like his old self. Aka, ruin dlc/canon Eclipse. Well, he acts like how I think he would act since we don’t have much info on game Eclipse.

Examples:

Moon: *swears*

Eclipse: *looks over* “Excuse me little star, but swearing is not allowed in the daycare!”

Moon: *looks over in confusion* “What?”

Eclipse realizes what he said and starts apologizing. He explains that it’s what he used to say when a kid would swear back when he ran the daycare back in his dimension.

Sun: *yawns and stretches as he wakes up from napping on the couch*

Eclipse, who is calmly sitting nearby, looks over at Sun. His gaze softens.

Eclipse: *softly* “Did you have a nice nap Sunshine?”

Sun looks over at Eclipse, since he didn’t expect that.

Sun: “What?”

Eclipse realizes what he said and starts apologizing. He explains that he sometimes called the kids that back when he used to run the daycare back in his dimension.

For both instances, he thinks it was just out of habit since he used to do it a lot. Though it was a bit embarrassing in the moment, he gets happy when he realizes that it means he’s slowly acting like himself again.

I think it would be kinda funny/sweet if there was a running thing of Eclipse accidentally calling Moon ‘little star’, and calling Sun ‘Sunshine’. Having it eventually becoming his nicknames for the two.

Have another SAMS short because I can't sleep and want attention. This is Floating through time, I promise I'm fine.

Eclipse rocked back and fourth on the couch, mindlessly fiddling with a cube Moon had gotten him, the colors were mixed and matched, and no matter how hard he tried he couldn't get more than two sides to have one solid color. It felt weird being out and about, moving around instead of stuck in the vast black expanse of his mind. it often felt overwhelming, he had a hard time moving his body the way he wanted, limbs jerked suddenly and weird noises erupted from his voice box. Don't get him wrong, he loved being back in control, after five decades of blackness, it only felt like a second. Like when you sleep, you close your eyes and then suddenly your alarm is going off.

        Eclipse was dimly aware of what he had done, and while Moon, Earth, and Sun tried telling him that he wasn't the cause to the horrible things that had happened, he still felt guilty.

        He could have done something, protected his counterparts from becoming completely him. he didn't feel welcome in this body, Moon had offered to build him a new one, something more stable, he had refused. He didn't need one, didn't deserve one. He deserved to be in this body, deserved to slowly deteriorate into a useless pile of metal, wires, and plastic. He couldn't help with the children, much to his dismay, but he helped clean up after they all left. It was for the best he didn't interact with the children anyway, who knew if... the other was fully gone or not. He didn't want to hear the screams anymore.

        He liked the others though, Lunar was easy to talk to, he liked running along side the little puff ball. Monty was a brute (just like the old Monty) and enjoyed tossing Lunar into the air as they walked together. Monty joked about how Eclipses self esteem was lower than Suns (DEAD, HES DEAD AND ITS YOUR FAULT) Earth was kind and gentle and never forced Eclipse to talk, but the option was always there. She fix his rays a little bit... RAYS! Rays was nice too! And also had a strong bond with Lunar, almost everyone liked each other, kinda like a family... Eclipse felt bad for intruding here, he had offered to return to his home dimension (Hurt, Nǎo was going to hurt him).

        "You are home" Moon said looking up from his desk, he had allowed Eclipse into his lab to watch him work, as long as he promised not to touch anything.

Home? No this wasn't home, he didn't live here, "b-"Eclipse tried.

        "I'm not sending you back there" Moon set down his project and sat beside Eclipse, "You don't have to live at the pizza plex with us, but I promise you wont ever go back there"  Eclipse sat there for a moment, letting Moons words sink in.

"Eclipse? Are you ok-AY!" Moon was pressed into the back of the couch, Eclipse wrapped his arms around Moons middle tightly, nuzzling his face into Moons clean ruffles. 

        "Th-thank y-OPEN-ou" his voice was muffled as he felt something warm and wet slip down his face.

Moon slowly returned the hug, and unspoken promise between them. "Don't thank me, thank yourself" He pulled the older bot closer to his chest, "you were so brave" Eclipse's shoulders shook as he melted into Moons touch.

        It wasn't his Moon, his Moon was long gone, but this Moon and everyone else who lived here was willing to take him in after everything had happened... 

        He doesn't remember falling asleep.

...

        Eclipse flopped onto the floor beside the little hut where Lunar was sleeping, gold and red eye watching the little one with care. He had been getting nightmares as of late, Eclipse stayed near so he could get Sun if need be. Lunar shifted, arms wrapping around a worn stuffed dog. Eclipse rested his head on top of his hands, eyes drooping as he watched the gentle rise and fall of Lunar's chest.

        Eclipse sat up with a jolt, surprised to feel a new weight pressed against his mangled side, two arms tugged Eclipses over the little body, he watched with mild, tired, interest as Lunar tucked himself in. Eclipse shifted so Lunar could use his other arm as a pillow, resigning to the fact he would have a sore neck the next morning. 

        "Clipse?" 

Eclipse opened his eyes, glancing at the younger bot. "Yes?" he yawned, tears budding at the corners of his eyes.

        "D- do you remember what it was like?" Lunar's voice was soft as he fiddled with the older's hands, joints creaking from years of wear and tear.

"What-t-t, what-t-t was like?" Eclipse had a hunch, not a very good one but a hunch none the less.

        "bein' stuck in your head" Lunar curled in on himself as if embarrassed or nervous, Eclipse couldn't pin down one emotion. "Sorry, its stupid I'll jus-"

"No" 

        Lunar turned his head to look at the worn down bot, "what?"

"I said no" Eclipse repeated, slowly sitting up, fixing Lunar in his arms, "It-t-ts not st-t-tupid to be curious, you were merely asking a quest-t-tion" Eclipse rubbed Lunar's back as he leaned against the house, "don't-t-t ever apologize t-t-to me for want-t-ting t-t-to know someth-thing, FIZZY FAZ! okay?"

        Lunar nodded, eyes drooping slightly as Eclipse continued to massage Lunar's back.

Eclipse didn't like being stuck in his head while the virus did god knows what, he remembers being tired, unable to move, listening to Virus taunt, play, and kill.

        "Not-t-t fun, HAPPY BIRTH-TH-DAY! you know like when your asleep T-T-TAKE YOUR NAP! and someones conversat-t-tion worms it-t-ts way int-t-to your dreams?" Lunar nodded, head falling onto Eclipse's chest.

        "I couldn't-t move much, like... I knew someth-thing was going on around CLEAN UP! me, but I couldn't-t-t do anything about it-t-t" Lunar perked up at that, eyes fully open once more. 

        "Liiike a fly st-t-tuck in a cube of jelly, th-thick and st-t-ticky makes NAUGHT-T-TY BOY! it-t-t hard t-to move" Eclipse thought about the long nights listening to the Other scream and fight Monty, the poor screams of the little groups of people. Eclipse hated it, it was his fault.

"You know times passing but you can't do anything about it?" Lunar asked, and Eclipse wished he could remove the knowing look off of Lunar's face, wishing the young bot didn't have to go through what he did.

        "Yeah, like th-that-t-t" Eclipse says sadly rubbing the top of Lunar's head. Eclipse could understand why he had to go through that, but Lunar? Lunar hadn't deserved anything bad that happened to him. It wasn't fair! Eclipse slowly lowered them back to the ground, "T-t-try t-t-to get-t-t some sleep, alright?"

        Lunar didn't answer, unless you count snores that could put Suns to shame as an answer. Eclipse chuckled then turned off his voice box, not wanting to have a random spasm and wake the younger bot. Eclipse pulls the younger closer to his chest and falls into the welcoming arms of sleep once again.

        Eclipse stared at the body before him, it looked like him, only not so beat down. Actually, not beat down at all, the body was pristine, the rays not jagged and mangled, the hands had casing, the body had mismatched colors still, but it was more pattern like than anything else. The hat had its bell and the pants were full and long, the slippers weren't ripped, and the face, oh the face. He carefully reached out to touch it, hand jerking into a roll before landing on the body's cheek. He looked up at Moon and Sun.

        Sun stood there eagerly, hands clasped tightly to keep himself from fidgeting, it didn't do much considering he was bouncing up and down like a child. 

        Moon had stuffed one hand into his pocket while the other was trying to get Sun to stay still, but he was rocking back and forth eagerly himself. 

"Why?" Eclipse asked softly, returning his gaze to the bot on the floor.

        "Because we didn't want you stuck in your own mangled body for the rest of forever?" Moon said, "that and I couldn't repair your original body even if I tried, did you know your voice box it melted into your head?" 

        Eclipse shrugged, blinking in surprise as a few drops of oil fell down his face, he didn't deserve this, why were they being so nice? He didn't understand. A hand grabbed his shoulder, causing him to yelp. "Sorry!" Earth squeaked (when did she get here?) the two stared at one another for a moment, "would you like a hug?" Eclipse nodded numbly, letting Earth pull him close.

        He wasn't surprised when two more body's pressed against him, instead he nuzzled into the crook of Earths neck, smiling at the smell of dirt and rain. His smile grew slightly as something small clambered into his lap, pressing its head against his stomach. Earths free hand came up to pet the back of his head as Eclipse began to sob, clutching to Earth like a lifeline.

        They all stayed like that for some time, until Eclipses head jerked backwards, scratching Earths neck and slamming into Moon. 

        Eclipse and Moon groan in pain as Earth releases one of her hands to check her neck. Lunar starts giggling as Sun begins to check his brother and sister's injury's. Eclipse carefully removes himself and Lunar from the blob of attendants that was quickly becoming panicked from Suns panic. Lunar continued to laugh, writhing in the older bots arms.

        Perhaps he should take the body, if not for himself then for the others. He yelped as one of his arms jerked out, he would have dropped Lunar had he not jerked his arms around Eclipses neck in panic. Case and point he supposed.

        Eclipse stood at the balcony, watching the children filtering in slowly. Lunar was grasping his hand tightly while Moon leaned against the wall, he wouldn't come down unless the others truly needed help. Seeing Moon usually set the children straight. 

        "You ready?" Lunar asked, looking up at Eclipse. He nodded dumbly not trusting himself to speak.

        "OK!" Lunar said releasing his hand and standing in front of Eclipse, "Sun, Earthy and I are going to do this biiiig build up! then when Sun says 'here he comes' you walk out onto the balcony, do a big entrance, and then jump into the pit!" Lunar put his hands on his hips, "got it?"

        "Yeah I got it" He replied, smoothing out his pants. Oh how he wished he could just stay in the little hut forever.

"Alright! See you soon!" Lunar stuck out his arms and leaned back, gravity taking him down, and letting out a loud Whooop! Leaving Eclipse and Moon left.

        The two stood there for a moment, listening to Lunar and Suns voices careen through the daycare, mixing with a softer voiced Earth and the sound of screaming children. Moon cringed at the loudness of it all while Eclipse edged forward, soaking it all in.

"You excited?" Moon asked, snapping Eclipse out of his daze.

        "Hm? Oh, yeah" Eclipse gripped the curtain tightly,  swaying back and forth in anticipation. 

Moon nodded "right, you're welcome to come back up here if it gets to much" Moon crossed his arms, fondly watching Lunar and Earth herd the children into a semi-circle around Sun. "No one would judge you, Sun and Lunar have done it a few times"

        Eclipse nodded again. "LOOK! HERE HE COMES" Sun shouted pointing up to the balcony, Earth and Lunar turned around in mock surprise while the children shoved each other to get a good look at Eclipse.

        "Show time" Moon said backing away to give Eclipse some space. Right, Eclipse walked- no, he skipped to the edge of the balcony dipping into a deep bow. 

        "HELLO FRIENDS!" He screamed, coming out of his bow, jumping off the balcony and forcing his body into a pirouette in the air before falling into the pit.

Show time indeed.

Earth saying it's a family Christmas proceeds to forget to invite Ruin... poor boy

I KNOW! That actually made the Christmas episodes a tad bit less enjoyable for me. Earth HAS met Ruin Eclipse, they helped her out with customer service and check out and everything! :c

It's dishearting to see our beloved boy treated like they're not important. Like yea sure, they're not important to the main plot, got it. BUT EVEN FRIGGIN FORKY SHOWED UP FOR THE CHRISTMAS EPISODES! Which, honestly was very sweet! He's slowly learning how to talk! Good for him, good for him. (Don't hurt yourself while doing that compadre please)

Though back on track with Ruin Eclipse, I know Puppet took them away for a pod cast sess or whatever, but that should be done by now (at least in my head lol) so- I've just... yk- the whole episode been imagining Clipsy looking from behind a corner as the others enjoy the festive atmosphere, movies and gifts.

Solar even might've noticed them which could be one of the reasons why he dipped the family shenanigans :3

Ruin’s final act AU

So, we already know that Solar, and especially Moon, are suspicious of Ruin and think that he might not actually be cured.

Well, what if Ruin is cured, but over time, ends up deciding to act like virus Ruin?

He realizes that he’s never going to truly be believed to be cured or good, and he thinks the others don’t want him around, so what’s the point in trying anymore?

Moon only really goes to find him when he needs to question or check on him, and Ruin being around makes him paranoid, so why not help Moon the best way he thinks he can?

By being what Moon believes him to be.

And so, cured Ruin does his research on the channel, studies how virus Ruin acted, and uses his acting skills to act as the other the best he can.

Even if, deep down, he doesn’t want to do this, he might as well put on the show the others are expecting.

He’ll force himself to wear the mask in public, even if it kills him in the end. Which it likely will.

At least then, no one will have to worry about him anymore. And he won’t have to worry about himself anymore either.

Also, totally not me grieving, but what if Ruin fucked up and just managed to turn several trillion people and animatronics into cats instead of collapsing their dimensions.
