So I’ve been thinking about that Peter and Elias gem picture you drew. So please consider Elias is actually a diamond who is tired of not being taken seriously by the other diamonds. (I’m also picturing all the other diamonds as the other avatar immortals ie Maxwell and Simon.) so he decides to disguise himself as a peridot and some how meets Peter, maybe saving him from making a full of himself? Elias can’t stay away however, because Peter is the first person who is actually real with him and isn’t afraid of bullying him. Eventually they dance and fused and Peter discovers the truth that Elias is actually green diamond while also freaking out about being able to fuse with a diamond while Elias is just more in love. Also consider Tim is Elias’s pearl and Jon as a peridot or a sapphire with Martin as a human.

Ohhh oh you see I have two versions of the su au. Albeit your idea sounds amazing and I am living for talking about this au.

The diamond as you say could be Simon, Maxwell and mayhaps Annabelle. Elias is not nearly as respected and so he runs away you say ?

Just peridot Elias meeting Peter who is a lapiz trying to do his job but who is very annoyed at his superiors for talking to him. So he intervenes when he sees him fighting some agate.

They are both furious and annoyed at each other but as you say Elias can't stay away!!! Peter is antisocial but Elias doesn't know to act like a regular gem so he helps him out.

It leads to them spending time together. Maybe when Elias is a diamond he requests for a few lapiz to work with him, but ensures Peter is there to keep him close!!!

And their fusion !!! Neither have fused before. To Elias its an *experience* while Peter has simply stopped working all together. It felt just so good!!! And it was confusing, it wasn't just him or Elias but something new and I *screams*

I love the concept of fusions a lot ok?

Mm I like pearl Jon more to be honest, maybe Amethyst Tim.

Also the main au I have is like Elias is a peridot, he meets Peter in homeworld and befriends him. Jonah is friends with pink diamond who is Rosie. The rebellion happens and he ends up in earth with Rosie, gerry and Jon as the survivors.

Peter ends up in the mirror because he went to visit Jonah and got caught up in the war by accident.

Something something Tim is Steven and Danny is an overcooked spinel that was born on earth.

The other au is yellow diamon Elias and blue diamon Peter. Albeit its more like an idea than an actual planned thing. Honestly I like your concept way more 👀 👀👁 ah the possibilities!!!! I have thoughts.

SU AU: Gem Survivors' Introductions - Indicolite Quartz

BACKGROUND:

-Indicolite Quartz is an Era One gem. Indicolite Quartz are made from Blue Diamond, but they’re a bit of an odd gem caste. They didn’t form from a regular quartz vein when they were being created. Unbeknownst when the injector was placed in the ground to create Indicolites the vein had an anomaly, and because of this unexpected outcome there was some debate between the Diamonds about what to do with them. After a jeer from Yellow about adding them to a court, Blue decided to add several to some of her courts, swayed by their uniqueness, much to Yellow’s dismay. They have a higher standing than regular quartz soldiers, because of Blue’s decision, but not by much. Instead of doing grunt work, they’re given tasks as personal guards and escort guides.

-Indicolites can summon their own weapons and fight to defend their assigned gem or put down an unruly gem, but they’re not as strong as the many other varieties of quartz soldiers. They’re smaller in stature, they lack brute strength, and aren’t as durable as other gems when opposed against someone bigger and more adequate for fighting. Thus they’re mostly left on Homeworld to tend to other tasks… unless their assigned gem is requested on another planet or needed in another colony for the purpose on Homeworld.

-If they were to be ranked in fighting strength they could be comparable to Rubies. Depending on how many Rubies are involved in the fusion or try to attack an Indicolite Quartz head on, an Indicolite can dispose of individual Rubies easier than a fusion, because the combined strength eventually overwhelms them unless they can be analytical about the situation and know when to go in for the strike.

STEVEN UNIVERSE AU: GEM SURVIVORS ~ ORIGINS - PLANET 9

ORIGIN OF APOPHYLLITE, STILBITE, AND CHALCEDONY ROSE

Planet 9 was a world under White Diamond’s control and part of the Crystal System Colony 258.

As of modern time, in Era 3, it’s a formerly abandoned, barely restored planet that has been brought back into communications with Homeworld. The gems are worse for wear from their time being ousted from the empire, and they have a lot of catching up to do.

The reasons behind Planet 9’s exile from the rest of the colony aren’t entirely known beyond a few other gems that were off planet before the communication systems and warp pad functionalities were disabled for thousands of years, and those gems were banned from talking about it.

After the new restitution of Planet 9, after its invasion by White Diamond, its ideal purpose was supposed to be a retreat for high ranking gems from Homeworld, maybe even sparce visits from White herself. That part was a only a rumor, though, initiated from off planet gems to encourage the lower classes to work harder.

High ranking gems would only be allowed to come to Planet 9 if they had beyond sufficient accomplishments behind their titles… or if they had already been made from the Kindergartens. There weren’t many noble elites made on Planet 9, but the gems that were were exquisite and precious, made directly from White Diamond herself.

The planet was to have fighting areanas for entertainment and to boast skills in combat, different types of spires and temples to act as sanctuary or for intellectual gems to do pondering, sanitariums for recouping gems to relax, etc.

The planet’s progress was going according to plan until the exceptional minerals started to quickly deplete. After a couple of Kindergartens had been made the raw materials ran out sooner than expected and only acceptable gems were popping out after a while.

The resources of the planet had been severely underestimated because of the world’s outer appearance of organic growth. Gems were still being made, but they weren’t meeting favorable expectations- their powers were detrimental to their environment, many gem types weren’t incubated with the right materials and came out with unexpected results.

Upon hearing of the reports, White withdrew the best of her gems that were sent to help build the structures and stopped shipments for necessary essentials for a sustainable colonization and left the remaining gems to continue progress, to test their durability and integrity under this sudden hardship. Her theory to see if the planet could still be useful met only bare minimum results, and so Planet 9’s original purpose was scrapped.

The only reasons White still had any interest with the planet and its gems was because of their tenacity to continue to strive despite their hardships, their perseverance to showcase their loyalty despite being labelled a failure, and mostly because of some unique gems resulting on the planet.

A FEW GEMS CREATED ON P. 9

Elite gems:

Apophyllites - One of the few elite gems that manages over the rest of the planet, therefore the gems of the planet, in place of a Diamond or gem with real experience running a planet; they have Stilbites that help make sure the colony is functioning accordingly; eventually one Apophyllite* goes to Homeworld because of her high standing responsibilities and strong will to stay with Homeworld’s good graces

Melanite (Black Andradite Garnet) - A one of a kind (or at least very rare) Garnet that commands over the army on Planet 9 and fellow planets in CSC 258; goes off planet quite frequently because she trusts the chosen Chalcedonys she’s put in place of the few battalions on P. 9; has her own Prism Light

Amorites (Chalcedony Rose) - Uncommon gems that outrank common Chalcedonys, Amorites are strict and nonsensical; placed in charge as lieutenants over the lower ranking quartz soldiers and Agates with fighting prowess in place of Melanite; one of the more qualified Amorites* goes to Homeworld as a representative when White invites a selected few to account for P. 9

Noble class gems:

Black Star Sapphires - Rare and exquisite yet classified as improper Sapphires because of their inability to use cognitive abilities like the Sapphires on Homeworld; has the ability to view parallel/alternate outcomes in other existing timelines but not their own they reside in (Parallel Viewing powers)

Goshenites - One Goshenite, accompanied by her Powder Almond Pearl, is reputable for her gentle aura that soothes gems into a catatonic state for periods of time so they can rest/just exist without feeling overwhelmed by the stresses of Planet 9’s ambiguious lack of connection

Middle class gems:

Sodalites - A precious gem, comparable to Lapis Lazulis for their control over water, Sodalites are a form of entertainment. They create unique music with their hydrokinetic manipulation, mural paintings/decor, or simple parlor tricks that never ceases to amaze

Dendritic Agates - These gems serve as management to retaining past transcripts, written history, and record keeping, all for White Diamond to view; manages scribe gems; responsible for making sure nothing hurts the perfect image of Homeworld by omitting anything imperfect

Stilbites - like a Pearl in terms of being ordered around but with more freedom to speak and do unsupervised tasks that require decisions; aid to elite gems like Apophyllites; one specific Stilbite* goes to Homeworld with her Apophyllite

Work class gems:

Lot of worker gems for lack of Bismuths

Soapstone gems - Makes structures favoring the Diamonds like statues and various ornaments

Realgars - Builds the metal insides for buildings and makes requested one-of-a-kind glass windows for each Diamond; clears away organic nature to pave clearings; a few are pyrotechnics; others set up transistors and other electrical works

Stibnites - Helps Realgars with pyrotechnic jobs; running diagnostics and repairs; maintenance gems

Cinnabar gems - Constructors; can control mercury which is used for quick structural repairs and fast construction over skeletal insides for buildings

Soldier gems

A few were taken to Homeworld

Clear Crystal Quartz - They can camouflage by reflecting their surroundings, can control fog for sneak attacks

Phantom Quartz - They can create phantom selves, can cause phantom tremors with their hammer-like weapons

Coyamito Agates - Agates that have better fighting endurances than other Agates on P.9; useful for their quick analytical perception and tough stability; can harmonize with energy vibrations around them and sense their enemies

Imperial Jaspers - Bold and courageous, these Jaspers are the hard hitters on P. 9 (though considerably weaker compared to other Jaspers on better suited planets)

Writing for me is a way to express myself; different than visual art. drawings will have a set way they appear, but the fun in writing is trying to create an image similar to the one in my head also like. its way easier to write a long scene than make it a comic. i’ll do both though and its fun to see what i focus on in each.

8-which of your own projects have shaped your writing the most? in what way? I think collectively it would be something i’ve been calling A Slice of Curiosity Really Makes You Think. Ive lost the original drafts years ago but it was inspired by House of Leaves- at least formatting wise. One character used first person perspective compared to most using 3rd person, wanting to look for the right words to describe really specific things and have them sound right, color coding things within the text. While I usually don’t push it as far as ASoCRMYT did, i still like messing around with formatting- bolding italics and font changes to show voice effects, a few fics where all the dialog is in rhyme, pronoun usage depending on whose in the scene... Its So Fun!

What is YMAM about?  

-Ymam takes place after the destruction of earth, destroyed by a Painite. mostly ymam focuses on stopping this Painite before she can enact the final stages of her plan.

Details about YMAM

- I wrote the idea for ymam down in a notebook directly after watching ‘change your mind’ and wanted to explore the idea of what would happen if Steven was presented with a situation he couldn't control, with an individual he could not convince. (I was pleasantly surprised watching future and seeing the take on what would happen if he was presented with no further issues to resolve) 

-I was also relieved to see the exploration of vengeance, anger and depression as I had struggled to write the characters in a realistic way without being crucified by the fanbase (you’ll see what I mean when it comes) and how the characters themselves react under the pressure. 

-The other reason was to explain why Steven had some of Pink/Rose’s memories. (In my own head canon way)

Who’s dead in this au?

-the shorter answer is who’s still alive, as of right now the survivors are:

Steven, Connie, peridot, Ruby, sapphire, Lars, padparadscha, nephrite and jasper.

And onion who is floating through space.

-Everyone else IS dead.

Who/What is Painite?  

-Painite is an elite among gem kind. Her purpose is to advance homeworld’s science and technology (think lead scientist in charge of coming up with scientific ideas) as described by peridot, “if Diamonds are the heads of society, Painites are the minds.” 

-There are only 5 Painites in existence, resulting in future elite gems to be smaller in stature to ensure mass production (sapphire, morganites, aquamarines, ect) also because Painite is an extremely rare gem.

-Painites are tall in stature, each Painite comes up to Pink Diamond's shoulders.

Is Spinel in this au? 

-no

-I had begun ymam back around the time before the movie was even announced and a season six was rumored. (2019) writing her in now would feel too fanservice-y as i don’t have a place for her in the story.

Are the diamonds still evil/ a dysfunctional family? 

-They are trying. homeworld and the diamonds have improved and are making steps to become better, they aren't perfect, but they are trying. Steven has been working with them for much longer than in canon, so he knows them much better in ymam.

What’s homeworld like?

-much more relaxed. gems still value purpose, but public fusions are allowed, gems are beginning to treat each other as equals despite type and job, and certain gems can even join a different purpose with enough hard work. (far from perfect, but making progress) As of now there is quarreling over Steven’s proposal of safety harvesting planets without killing any organic life for recourses.

Do the diamonds know Steven isn't Pink? / Why do they slip up and call him Pink sometimes?

-Yes and no.

-before the episode ‘fragments’ I assumed shattering was a perma-death type situation, and the only real way to die. (being left in the dark too long would result in a shutdown until light was introduced again) so in their minds, Steven is a ‘reincarnation’ of sorts. A perma-fusion that can’t be undone. They understand that the old Pink can’t come back, but they don’t understand the idea of dying without shattering. 

-And because gems have a different concept of time it does take them longer to figure out that he isn't Pink, think 4 years = 4 weeks. 

Can I make fanart/fics?

How old is Steven?

Is the pink inside Steven’s gem the original?

-no

-the pink in Steven’s gem is a leftover memory function (like the pearls inside pearl’s pearl) she had no sentience before pinks death and only became aware after Steven began manifesting his powers.

Why are Ruby and sapphire un-fused?

-Both Ruby and sapphire are guilty about losing the earth and blame themselves and are dealing with it in different ways. They feel that they weren’t able to protect it as garnet, and because of that mixed with the trauma, they are unable to fuse/sync.

-They are too emotionally distraught.

What happened to Garnet and Pearl in your Son of hessonite au?

Actually, I’m not sure now! In my first version, there was a real secret negotiation between CG and Diamonds, so they were somehow safe with Rose/Pink and other survivors. I could have kept this version even with Rose=Pink because it makes sense, but I think Hessonite shattering Pink is more interesting.

As for Pearl, she might be on HW. In canon, I have a theory that White Diamond vill be the final villain of SU and she maybe even knew that Rose was Pink. So in this AU White could take and reprogram Pearl after Pink’s shattering and before the Corruption, and Pearl would currently be the White Pearl.

For Garnet… uhm Ruby and Sapphire could return to HW before the Corruption and create a secret resistance with other gems, while pretending to work for the Diamonds. Otherwise Garnet could be a corrupted fusion gem… the counterpart of Centi ;__;

Earth-2 (Steven Lazuli) before you say anything else. no this is not an earth where Lapis is Steven's mother, this is a timeline where Lapis Lazuil managed to break herself free from the mirror and kidnapped Steven when he was about 1 year old, years goes on and Lapis takes care of Steven like if he was her own son. this timeline has a lot of interesting things escpecially with the characters, Garnet doesn't exist, Pearl's a secret agent of a human organization and let's not forget about Wildcard. yeah this earth is great!

Earth-15 (Quartz) this is a timeline where Rose was shattered during the final battle of the gem war, the crystal gems were victorious, but Rose was in two pieces, one to the gems and another to homeworld, homeworld use the gem to create a hybrid and Quartz was born. Quartz is loyal to yellow diamond and vow himself to destroy the Crystal Gems and take back the planet earth.

yeah technically, my SI is like I guess more of an OC that is meant to be a stand in for me? But like it’s kind of an AU in that sense so NFSKDJFHGKSDJ ANYWAY LET’S BEGIN

Moonstone is a survivor in a crash landing on Earth. The other gems were shattered upon impact. Moonstone was terribly cracked but managed to survive.

She is then, after centuries, stuck at the bottom of the ocean as her gem continues to mend itself. 

Eventually her gem washes ashore on Beach City’s beachfront near Steven’s home where he and Connie find her, still hiding in her gem, and bring her to the house, curious as to whether or not this is a GEM gem or just a shiny earth rock FNSDKJDSNFKj

SU AU: Gem Survivors' Introductions - Lepidolite

BACKGROUND:

-Lepidolites are late Era One gems. This caste is separated into two groups, although there is nothing really different between them structurally aside from their colors. Before the injectors were placed to make them, there was a miscommunication between gems and resources from Yellow Diamond were used to make a few Lepidolites that came out yellow. Lepidolites were originally supposed to be made from Blue and Pink, like the plentiful ones that are more purple and pink. This mistake caused there to be the two kinds of Lepidolites, so the Yellow Leps are exclusive to Yellow Diamond’s command while the rest are mostly under Blue Diamond.

-The roles of Lepidolites, at least the ones under Blue, are ranged. Their field is best explained in human terms, so they’re basically social workers/adminstration support supervisors rolled into one. They go off planet to supervise gems that are working on newly acquired expansions of the empire, watch over gems that are being monitored for odd behaviors that have been reported, report to their managers about various things, and coordinate duties/relay orders for the elite gems commanding over the planets’ colonies. This is just a short version of the many jobs they do.

-Lepidolites are a lower middle class gem that’s ranked just above high class quartz soldiers but below the class of Zircons. Lepidolites work under management and one of the castes they report to are Hyacinth gems. It’s very similar to lawyer-social worker relationships, as long as they’re the only go betweens and “social worker” is all social job responsibilities rolled into one job.

-If required, Lepidolites can act as incognito escorts to gems that have had issues documented in the past. They record any oddities, behavior examples of individualistic thought patterns, or anything that breaks from the fundamental philosophy that Homeworld has always adhered to. It’s not common, but not unusual, for certain Leps to get assigned these missions if they have the ability to fight and summon weapons.

Steven Universe AU: Gem Survivors' Introductions - Kunzite

BACKGROUND:

-Kunzite is a gem from Era One. They were created by Pink and Blue Diamond. Kunzite is a rare gem species and considered only for use by gems of high class and upwards.

-She, along with the few other Kunzites, mainly performs during balls held by Pink Diamond as either first or second act when the dances begin. The purpose of the Kunzite gem class is to pretty much act as stress relievers and entertainers. While the Kunzites dance they release aura or energy waves that fills the room with a mixed bag of positive feelings - tenderness, compassion, adoration, fondness, etc.

-They act as empathatic gems. While their gems release the energy waves and “elevate” the gems’ emotions, the Kunzites filter the negative atmosphere, embracing the emotions from the caste of gems that attend the ball. The Diamonds aren’t affected by this, and the more Kunzites that dance in tandem the stronger the aura field. In some cases, a Kunzite might experience emotional overload if the unfavorable energy she’s received from the negative outlets can’t be released.

-Kunzites are part of a court under Pink Diamond. Because of their rarity they are assigned one or two personal guards. Just in case something happens.

SU AU: Gem Survivors' Introductions - Hauyne

BACKGROUND:

-Hauyne are technically gems from Era One. However, the Hauyne caste no longer exists as of present time, because they have been classified as defect, unsalvageable, and not worth their grain in material to be made. Hauyne gems were supposed to be similar to Lapis Lazuli gems in terms of being able to terraform planets with their hydrokinetic abilities, but unfortunately, the minerals to create Hauyne gems weren’t reliable enough to be used and the results were… less than pleasant.

-There were a few Hauyne gems that properly formed for passable by human standards, but the caste as a whole was deemed a failure. A lot of Hauyne gems popped out too early, being stolen of the time they needed for proper growth. Several didn’t finish growing a proper gem to sustain their bodies so when they formed the results were obvious: twinning happened with a good few of the gems (which immediately caused a mixed behavior of disgust, horror, and aggression), some Hauynes were too weak to even hold their form properly (their gems too brittle to sustain any kind of physicality before causing the gem to crack, resulting in either the Hauyne to be poofed or the gem shattering on its own), a few gems could barely form at all, let alone a sustainable body riddled with flaws and defects.

-There were a few Hauynes that incubated and formed after a normal length time in the ground, but they still resulted in a few issues as well. Some couldn’t speak or see, some didn’t have the standard height of what they were expected to have, and the worst cases being unable to perform their duties which they were made for. The idea of giving enhancers to the passable gems was discussed, and the rest of the gems would just be shattered. Eventually, the Diamonds decided of ridding Homeworld of all Hauynes as they fell too far below standard to waste any dwindling resources on.

-The result of such poor gems being made was from a lack of proper minerals, poor placement, and too many Hauynes were being produced at once. Lapis Lazuli gems are rare because of the limited conditions they have to go through to be made. The idea with the Hauyne caste was they would be lower in quality but would suffice the difference in quantity. That didn’t turn out to be the case, and the lot of Hauynes were made only to be discarded as failures and shattered, with the Diamonds concluding that Lapis Lazuli gems will work out just fine as the only terraforming gems.

-If the Hauynes caste had survived they would have been under Blue and Yellow’s rule, not courts, as they would be too standard as a working class gem alongside quartz soldiers and mechanic-like gems such as Peridots.

-Although a few did escape before mass shattering into the caverns of Homeworld, living as off colors. Who knows what happened to the others?

Alignment: Originally made for Yellow and Blue/Independent from Diamonds while on Homeworld/Crystal Gems

Hair Color: Grayish-blue short puffy hair that covers her eyes

During time with Crystal Gems- A halter top openback short flowy dress

Weapon: A hollow pole that holds water in it and her hydrokinesis. Her control over water is significantly weaker than a Lapis Lazuli abilities but she feels uncomfortable without water nearby, claiming she feels a piece of her is missing. She also uses her water to see her area and form a concept of what things look like.

When she fuses: Unknown if she’s ever fused

Favorable quote: I used to be so mad and resentful towards the Diamonds, for how they treated us– judged us, just after emerging. I was confused, because I didn’t understand why I was so scared about being shattered. I wanted to stay whole, even though I couldn’t do the one thing was I made to do. A few of us escaped and hid in the underground tunnels… but every day was terrifying because we never knew when we would be found out. Every day on Homeworld for me… was hell.

-Axinites are Era One gems made between Blue and Yellow Diamond, and eventually, Pink Diamond.

-The Axinite gems are special in a way. They are one gem caste, but there are subtypes based from the minerals that they’re made with: Axinite (Fe), Axinite (Mg), and Axinite (Mn).

-Despite the minor three differences in the Axinites, they have the same main purpose: to survey worlds chosen by the Diamonds to be the newest additions to their colonies. Like land surveyors on Earth, Axinites act much the same way except for an entire planet and to see if it can sustain the endurance of making gems, enough minerals to make the gems properly, to see how inhabited the planet is before colonization, etc.

-When the Axinite is deployed to the planet they have an escort assigned to them that acts as a guard while they do their reports and studies on the planet and its potential for minerals.

-In modern times the Axinites don’t have to travel off planet to check out the planet assigned to them to report because of the upgraded technology that is at their disposal. The only time they go to the planet is when their sub-duties require them to, or if they absolutely have to physically be there to check out the planet with more modern equipment.

STEVEN UNIVERSE AU: GEM SURVIVORS- INTRODUCTION

Stilbite

(Apophyllite, Stilbite, and Chalcedony Rose won’t get standard background explanations, because they’re technically backstory characters and no longer exist, except for Phylli)

BACKGROUND:

Stilbite is a gem originally from Planet 9, a world in one of White Diamond's colonies. She was brought to Homeworld along with Apophyllite, the gem she works closely with and fuses with on many occasions when given the opportunity in secrecy.

On P.9 Stilbite helps Apophyllite, dubbed Phylli by herself, manage menial and overbearing tasks and duties to assist the functionality of the planet, due to its lack of official leadership.

Stilbites are servant gems to higher ranking gems, mainly the -phyllite castes, and function similarly to Pearls, but they have more freedom and liberty than any Pearl could hope for.

It was during their close time together over the years that allowed Phylli and Stilbite to understand their symbiotic relationship and how much deeper their feelings really ran. It was during a moment of inferiority and questioning of self from Apophyllite that made Stilbite clearly see why she loved the gem that she had been assigned to serve, and she dubbed Apophyllite "Phylli" to help give her a sense of unique identity.

It was also during this time that Phylli felt like without Stilbite that she wouldn't be the same gem she was because of her and didn't know how she could cope with all the stresses she had on her shoulders.

When the two gems embraced, synchronized with each other, that was when they fused for their first time. Despite the initial shock and confusion, over time Phylli and Stilbite fused more and more, enjoying the unity the fusion brought them.

When she traveled with Phylli to Homeworld Stilbite was tasked with being an in-between for other gems and responsibilities that took her away from her fusion partner, much to her annoyance. Although they still saw each other they didn't have the ability to fuse like they did on P. 9. It was during one of their explorations that they discovered an abandoned Kindergarten cavern that no one else ventured to, and it was here they chose to meet so they could fuse without being seen.

Decades later, when Phylli was offered a Pearl and chose to accept her, only after changing her mind because of how they treated the Pearl, Stilbite was immediately interested in her. Plum Pearl and Stilbite grew accustomed to each other fairly easily, even though Plum had difficulties getting used to Apophyllite because of her high status.

After a few hundred years later, when Plum was more comfortable and more herself with Stilbite and Phylli, they decided to show Plum they're special place and fused, asking if she wanted to join their relationship. After thinking about it she agreed to be a part of their fusion.

It was a little later on when everything would go down hill.
