This cured my boredom for a little bit. Was making a few new music playlists and thought.. hmm. I wonder what kind of music the RFA listens to? So, I made this. For no reason at all.
What Kind of Music the RFA + V/Saeran Listen To:
Saeyoung/707:
- (I always see people writing that he’d listen to all star or other cringe meme songs because that’s what seems to be his entire personality, but I like to think he has more substance than that and listens to songs that don’t have to do with memes.)
- He definitely listens to rap/hip-hop.
- Can you not imagine him driving down the road in his cars, windows down, music blasting?
- He listens to his music uber loud in his headphones while working.
- His favorite artist is probably Tyler the creator, i mean, how could you not love him.
- Listens to Mac Miller when he’s sad :(
PLAYLIST:
Who Dat Boy - Tyler the Creator
Stutter - Freddie Dredd
Evil Fantasy - Freddie Dredd
Sweatpants - Childish Gambino
Bounce - Logic
Dead Wrong - Notorious B.I.G.

FACE - Brockhampton
King Kunta - Kendrick Lamar
Lovely Things Suite: Knots - Watsky
Zen:
- (Similar to Saeyoung, I don’t believe Zens entire personality revolves around musicals, he probably doesn’t listen to them that often imo.)
- I like to think he’s a... well rounded individual when it comes to music
- Listens to anything and everything.
- I could see him listening to the same music as Seven, but is also very into 70s-90s rock like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the like.
- He runs listening to all of his music on shuffle and doesn’t have a specific playlist so there’s never a certain vibe to it— it really is all over the place.
- In addition to Seven’s playlist, here’s Zen’s
PLAYLIST:
Funny Face - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Yoosung:
- Yoosung likes more upbeat music, maybe more new age/alternative pop
- Listens to music every time he tries to study, but usually get distracted by it and starts to sing along instead of actually doing his work
- Is probably trying to branch out of his style, Seven and Zen try to convince him to listen to their favorite genres
- The three of them always argue about who has the best taste in music lol
- He’s constantly wondering if his music is “manly” enough (it’s okay yoosung it’s just music)
- If this dude gets drunk and hears any of this music he goes absolutely wild and dances all over the place
PLAYLIST:

Unbearably White - Vampire Weekend
Tiny Umbrella - Coast Modern

Jumin:
- this guy has 2 modes and that’s it: classical bitch or music that has words
- He appreciates the fine art of classical music and listens to it when he has work to get done or when he’s trying to relax.
- If he’s in a good mood he’ll put on a playlist that includes “music with actual lyrics!”
- It’s a dad playlist. Billy Joel, Billy Joel, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Beatles, Billy Joel.
- He likes Billy Joel. Jumin has a dad personality you can’t convince me otherwise lol

- She loves to dance, so a lot of her songs and just songs that she’ll never be able to refuse to move her feet to!

"I Don't Think I Could Lose You Aswell!"
Monday 6th April 2020
Good evening people! How was your weekend? I know things have been a bit scary the past few days with things getting pretty serious in the news. I'm sure feeling as much relief as I am to escape into our soaps this week. So last week, it was quite a biggy. Dennis's funeral and Phil finally came back! We last saw Phil hand himself into the police due to him feeling guilty and responsible for young Dennis's death. Unfortunately, I don't have any spoilers for you guys tonight, so instead we're going to jump right into tonight's episode. I'm sure you've been looking forward to it as much as I have!
Quite a lot happened tonight don't you think? Lets start with Vinny shall we? He clearly is still very annoyed with his Mum for lying about having cancer, it's struggling to move on from it from the looks of things. How can his brothers be alright with their Mum after what she did?! Vinny obviously can't stand being around his Mum at the moment, especially the way she spoke to him! For a moment I thought to myself, "What a horrible mother!" ... I've got a bad feeling about Suki, I think she's going to manipulate all of her children just to get her way or something. Whatever it may be, I just don't have a good feeling about her and something, eventually will happen, and her character will get worse and worse ... almost like another female villain! ... But, I could be wrong, we shall have to see. I feel it's going to take a long time for Vinny to get over what Suki did, as well as Ash too I imagine, as she never really had a good relationship with her Mum in the first place. Is DJ-ing the one way that Vinny can escape? Will Ruby give him a place at the club? I feel he'll give the club a different vibe and it'll be the place for him to meet new people and interact with other characters we've not seen him gel with yet. I'm looking forward to seeing his character progress. I'm starting to like these Panesar boys, I think there's still loads to come from them and I'm hoping they will get their own very big story-line in the future. Will their Dad come back after being in prison and cause a stir on the square? There's still more to come from them that's for sure!
So, is Karen really going to leave? I, for one, don't believe she will, there will be a twist of fate or something will happen and she'll end up staying on the square. I kinda felt sorry for Billy, who else is enjoying seeing Billy and Karen as a couple? Even though I've always loved Billy being with Honey, it's nice to see him having some kind of happiness with Karen ... Speaking of which, where has Honey gone? She's not been seen since her food story-line ... did she leave for a break with the kids? What happened? Someone remind me! ... Anyway back to Karen and Billy, it's nice to see them having some kind of happiness together, don't you agree? However, now Mitch has thrown a spanner in the works telling Karen he loves her! Uh-Oh! Does that mean that Karen needs to make a choice? Will she stay with Billy or will Mitch give her an offer she wont be able to refuse? I don't really like the way Mitch is using Bailey to get to Karen, she loves that girl as if she was her own, but Karen also needs to stand by her grandson and do what's right. Can she find a way to stay in Walford and find a way to please everyone around her?
Ian is getting desperate now isn't he? He thought he had it all figured out when he nicked the phone and deleted the voice message from Dennis. I'm just going to say it but I love Ian's smug face ... only due to the fact that you know that he's a little weasel, and his smugness will never last, someone will always get one place further or one place higher than him and that smug look will be gone from his face as soon as he realises! It's one of Ian's classic characteristics! However, now Sharon has found the phone in the bin, surely she can only wonder as to what the phone was doing in there? And rightly as Dotty put it, what if Sharon saw the CCTV from the Arches of Ian nicking the phone, what would be so important for him to hide?! Oooo it's getting good now, and I think it's only a matter of time before Sharon finds out what Ian's been hiding, only how Sharon finds out remains to be a mystery ... who things she'll find out pretty soon? Or will it be quite a while before she finds out? How long are EE going to prolong this revelation?! I've said it before and I'm going to say it again, but as Bobby has shown a bit of an interest in Dotty, and we know the two Beale brothers are going to fall for her, but will Dotty play them both off together to get to Ian? We've already seen Ian warn Bobby off her but I do think Dotty will play this to her advantage to get what she wants, it's the perfect way isn't it? Use Ian's son to get to him and blackmail him that way, it makes sense right? I mean, it'll be horrible for Bobby and Peter in the long run as i'm sure both of them will genuinely care for Dotty and get feelings for her, or, who knows? Maybe she'll start to grow feelings for both of them? It's an interesting twist and i'm looking forward to seeing what happens. What do you guys think?!
Ahhh okay, so another one of my theories have become even more solid now! Remember I suggested that Sharon might be the one who get's the Vic? Well my theory feels more fact now after tonight's episode. When Sharon was talking to Linda in the Vic talking about old times and how she felt so happy living there, did you see Linda's face?! What better thing could she do for her best friend right now, than giving her the place she grew up and once felt happy and safe. I truly thought Linda was going to suggest it to Mick, I still think she will, she'll put the idea to Mick and then they'll offer it to Sharon, whether she comes up with an offer or not. I am more convinced now that Sharon will get the Vic! Who else agrees? Do you think the new owners of the Vic could be someone else? Let me know what your theories are!
The main focus of tonight's episode, again was Phil and Sharon and once again I want to applaud the performances of Letitia Dean and Steve McFadden. Who else found it upsetting to see Phil lying in a jail cell? It upset me briefly, it's the one place we've never seen Phil and, to be honest, I don't really want to see Phil in a jail cell, he may have a bit of a reputation but ... he's a good really, isn't he? He's a softie at heart! The most important thing to him and the Mitchell's has always been family, so I can understand why Phil feels the need to hand himself in, even though it was a terrible accident. Who else was happy to see Ritchie back? She's always been a great part whenever the Mitchell family have been in trouble with the law, I enjoyed seeing her back tonight. The shock on poor Ben's face when he realised what was going on with his Dad, he knew exactly what he had to do, and thank God Sharon listened! I'm so happy the police let Phil go after she changed her statement, it was as if they really didn't care on what he wanted to say. It felt so nice to see Ben and Phil finally reunited, that hug ... I felt that! It was pure relief! However, there's still that little bit of information that Phil doesn't know about Ben's hearing loss, I feel it's going to be sad when he learns what's happening with his son, even finding out that Karen is now caring for Kayden was probably a bit of a shock for him too. That last scene between Phil and Sharon, I found it a little emotional ... the way Sharon was talking about Phil being a Dad to Dennis, seeing them both cry ... they are both grieving for a lad they both loved dearly. They are grieving parents and it's only right that they seek comfort in each other, it's probably the one thing that is going to get them through this grief. Does Sharon still love Phil? I believe he still loves her, but is Sharon playing with Phil's emotions just to get back at him? I'm a bit unsure but I do hope that it's just a genuine emotion that they are both feeling and they are leaning on each other to get through it. I love Phil, he's one of my favourite characters, always has been and even though he acts as the hard-man the majority of the time, there are times we will see him cry and it's so hard to watch, I feel. It's like watching your Dad cry! Steve McFadden is an asset to the soap and he deserves all the recognition in the world! I'm intrigued to seeing how the two of them can move on, will they rekindle their marriage to get through this, or will it simply tear them apart? Who knows? Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing more from this current story-line!
I truly think it was fab episode tonight, who else enjoyed it? Are you looking forward to seeing what's going to happen next?! Thankfully we wont have to wait as long its back tomorrow! I hope you've all enjoyed my blog so far and I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for your on-going support! I'll be back again tomorrow after tomorrow's episode! Keep yourself safe, stay at home and we will get through this tough time together! Goodnight everyone! xXx

Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star - Choose Your Servant Blog
With contributions from Alyssa, Billy, Brittany, Danielle, Jason, John, Liz, Nate, Nick, Ryan, and Tom
Part of what makes Fate such a compelling setting is that its specific premise doesn't just stand on its own, but fuels the viewer/player's imagination, inviting them to envision new additions to the world and the cast of characters. If you're new to the series, it's about a ritual conflict between a variety of heroes and villains from history, mythology, and fiction, all coming together to battle it out as Servants for the Masters who summoned them. The winning Master (theoretically) receives the world-altering power of the Holy Grail.
The Servants' battles are based on rules, and each Servant has strengths and weaknesses. Part of the reason the Servants typically refer to themselves by their class (such as Saber or Archer), rather than by their names, is because their true identities can give their opponents clues as to what those strengths and weaknesses are. For that reason, Servants often disguise themselves, appearing as other ethnicities, genders, or even species than their original namesake. Each Servant can only be summoned through the use of a particular artifact, unique to that Servant's history and personality.
All that got us thinking about what kind of Servants we'd pick for ourselves. We asked around the office, "If you could pick anyone, real, mythological, or fictional, from anywhere in time, to fight for you, who would it be, what would they look like, and what kind of powers would they have?" Here are everyone's answers:
 Ryan:
Servant: Don Quixote
Tumblr media
Class: Lancer
Origin: Literary knight/madman, 1605
Artifact: The Golden Helmet of Mambrino (aka any brass shaving basin)
Appearance: Don Quixote appears as his author did in his youth, clean-shaven and a bit gangly, with the spark of adventure and a young man's drive to save the world.
Strengths: Can create Reality Marbles at will, and often does so without even realizing it. These Reality Marbles, which depict Quixote's imagined fantasy world, have the effect of hypnotizing anyone in them with a Mana rating of C or below, including Quixote himself, into temporarily believing that the fantasy is real. He is also proficient with his sword and lance, and while not a Rider, he can execute a (slow, awkward) charge from horseback.
Weaknesses: Quixote cannot always control when or how his Reality Marbles appear, and miniature Reality Marbles are constantly appearing and disappearing inside his head. As a result, he frequently mistakes inanimate objects for evil creatures, and has trouble distinguishing friend from foe.
Noble Phantasm: "Wild Winds of Fortune" — Quixote summons a row of giant windmills, which spin fast enough to create a tornado.
Alignment: Chaotic Good
 Brittany:
Servant: Steve Irwin
Tumblr media
Class: Rider
Origin: Naturalist, born in 1962
Artifact: His shirt
Appearance: A rugged Outback-dwelling wildman, riding a wild boar. ("Irwin" being derived from the Old English words for "wild boar" and "friend")
Weapon: A Crocodile Dundee knife
Strengths: High endurance, can summon a variety of dangerous animals
Weaknesses: (Don't say stingrays, don't say stingrays...)
Noble Phantasm: "Irwinado" — Picture Gilgamesh's NP, but with crocodiles and snakes.
Alignment: Neutral Good
 Tom:
Servant: Bartleby, the Scrivener
Tumblr media
Class: Would prefer not to say
Origin: Fictional clerk from a Herman Melville story, 1853
Artifact: An empty quill stuck in a shallow square foot of wet cement
Appearance: A woman in her 30s or 40s with hair graying before her time, and a perpetual look of absolute doneness upon her face.
Weapon: Reluctance
Strengths: Can efficiently calculate and execute strategy in short bursts
Weaknesses: Inevitably starts backing away from combat situations after a short while, just standing there and looking sad…sad enough that the enemies feel sympathy for her plight, as she stands and stares wistfully at the moon, proclaiming “I would prefer not to fight” whenever anyone comes at her with weapons drawn.
This is actually a strength, however, as no one would have the heart to hurt her, but they’d think about it for a second…and in that moment, they’d be distracted and vulnerable, which is when Tom would come in and smash them over the head with a vase or something.
Her other weakness is that her battles would all have to be fought in the same exact area, since Bartleby would eventually refuse to move from her spot for any reason whatsoever, even if compelled via Command Seal.
Noble Phantasm: "Ah, Bartleby! Ah, moe-ness!" — Bartleby stands rooted there, eternally staring upward, the glow of the moon burning itself into her corneas until her corneas simply burn away altogether. And yet, she still stares, endlessly, deeply, even through the pallid, useless orbs now adorning her face.
Alignment: True Neutral
 John:
Servant: Cao Cao
Tumblr media
Class: Caster (Some believed him to be a sorcerer in life; turns out they were right)
Origin: Imperial Chancellor of the Han Dynasty, born in 155 AD
Artifact: The noose he used to hang Lu Bu
Appearance: He disguises himself as a bent old man with a cane and a long, wispy white beard
Weapon: Chinese-style sword
Strengths: Particularly adept in magic that is useful for statecraft, such as sowing discord among people or spying on others. One of his mysterious abilities derives from the real Chinese expression, "speak of Cao Cao, and Cao Cao arrives" (an equivalent to "speak of the Devil"). Cao Cao has the ability to be anywhere that his name is spoken, even in more than one place at once. (In Fate, this also applies to anyone who speaks the word "Caster.")
Weaknesses: His weakness is his hubris. Zhuge Liang, who humiliated him at the Battle of the Red Cliffs, still inflames his temper easily. Lu Bu, whom he executed in life, wants to return the favor.
Noble Phantasm: Calls forth a cavalry charge, with his men driven forward both by rage against the enemy and fear of him.
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Nick (who went all-out with his description):
Servant: Nebuchadnezzar II
Tumblr media
Class: Caster
Origin: King of Babylon (and, by extension, the known world), born in 634 BC. The construction of the famous Ishtar Gate and the Hanging Gardens, noted as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, are commonly attributed to him, and he’s also known for his appearance in the Bible, particularly in the book of Daniel.
Artifact: One of the lapis-glazed bricks of the Ishtar Gate, which exists today restored in a museum in Berlin
Appearance: I can see him dressed in a fine robe dyed the color of lapis (prized for its rich, blue hue by the royalty of the ancient world), embroidered with extravagant designs on the hems in golden thread. He’d have the look of a mystic – a sort of “sorcerer-king,” in my imagination. Still not sure about whether my ideal Neb appearance would keep the famous beard you see show up in a lot of statues from that time period, but I like the idea of a wavy, windswept head of black hair. Civil enough for the chambers of government, but with a touch of unkempt-ness befitting a battlefield.
Strengths: An adept Caster, Nebuchadnezzar can exert great influence on the astral plane, spinning his dreams into prophecies and divinations. He’s also capable of using his sovereignty to prod at weaknesses and loopholes in the power of Command Seals.
Weaknesses: Nebuchadnezzar, while wise and shrewd, is also a superstitious man who seeks the approval of the gods. He may hesitate to press an advantage if he doesn’t have a solid grasp of the risks involved.
Noble Phantasm: "Hanging Gardens of Babylon" — Either a floating palace with an orbital laser cannon, or an untouchable sanctuary in which Nebuchadnezzar and his Master rest and bide their time.
Notes: The kingdom of Uruk that once belonged to series-staple Gilgamesh would after many centuries go on to become the Babylon ruled over by Nebuchadnezzar, and during his reign, he presided over both great destruction and great creation. His armies subdued foreign kingdoms, bringing them into the Babylonian empire, but he also oversaw a massive slew of public works projects – everything from walls to bridges to temples. His was a gilded age for the kingdom. Within Fate lore, Nebuchadnezzar is already acknowledged to exist as a Heroic Spirit, though we’ve never seen him summoned before and so don’t know much about what Type-Moon’s take on him would be, or what class he’s most likely to be summoned into. I can see him being a strategic type of caster – the type to factor in the placement of ley lines, fortify structures with wards, and favor spells that turned the environmental conditions of a fight to his favor. As a lover of great architecture, I think it fits him. But that said, his status as a conqueror means he wouldn’t shrink from direct battle, especially when he has aligned circumstances in his favor via his various enchantments.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
 Billy:
Servant: Guan Yu
Tumblr media
Class: Rider
Origin: A mighty warrior from ancient China who could cleave a large army with ease. He was also known for having a well-kept beard. He was nicknamed “Beautiful Beard”. Born in the latter half of the second century AD.
Artifact: Green Dragon Crescent Blade
Appearance: Guan Yu’s appearance would be of a large, red-skinned centaur. His mane and beard are made of fire.
Strengths: Superior strength, endurance, and mobility
Weaknesses: Easily identified by his hooves and red hide
Noble Phantasm: "Red Hare" — Guan Yu charges forward, swinging his spear and dragging a wall of fire with him.
Alignment: Lawful Good
 Nathan:
Servant: Björn Ironside
Tumblr media
Class: Saber
Origin: Legendary 9th century Viking commander
Artifact: The runic stone from his barrow
Appearance: Disguises himself as a sickly, dying man
Strengths: Ferocity, advantage of surprise
Weaknesses: Vulnerable to fire, particularly Greek fire
Noble Phantasm: "Jarn" — Björn discards his sickly disguise and turns his body to iron. Since Fate enjoys its share of pseudoscience, this Noble Phantasm would not only make him relatively invulnerable to any attack that isn't ridiculously powerful, it would also increase his total weight, and therefore mass, substantially. If we assume that he'd still be able to move as quickly as he did before its use, then his overall combat abilities would increase as his hits now carry a greater force behind them.
Notes: The picture shown comes from his most famous moment, in which, while besieging a city, he pretended to be dying, convinced the clergy to take his coffin into the city to perform his last rites, and then jumped out of the coffin, rampaged his way to the city gates, and opened them for his army.
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Alyssa (who also went all-out with her description):
Servant: Locusta
Tumblr media
Class: The most obvious classes that she would fall into would be Caster and Assassin, but one of the nifty things about Fate is that it isn’t always about the obvious, so perhaps Locusta would actually be in the Archer class.
Origin: Locusta was a prolific serial murderer in Ancient Rome, with poison being her weapon of choice. She was so well known that Agrippina the Younger, sister of Caligula and mother of Nero, supposedly hired her to poison her husband, Emperor Claudius, in AD 54. Locusta was convicted of poisoning another victim, but Emperor Nero swept in and rescued her from being executed…in exchange for poisoning someone else for him. In short, Locusta was kept in Nero’s back pocket for all of his poisoning needs, given some very nice land, and even began teaching others the illustrious ways of poison making. Of course, being part of Nero’s entourage did pose its dangers, and after his suicide, Locusta was sentenced to death and (most likely) publicly executed.
Artifact: One of her old glass vials, filled with one of her signature poisons.
Appearance: Well, she was quite famous, so I don’t think it would be anything subtle, that’s for sure. Since Emperor Claudius’ murder was committed via a poisoned dish of mushrooms, maybe a mushroom design would be incorporated in some way.
Strengths: Unpredictable, backstabby, all her attacks inflict poison status
Weaknesses: Vulnerable when caught alone in the open
Noble Phantasm: "Venenum in Nube" — A toxic cloud spreads out from Locusta's hands and covers the area.
Notes: There are so many interesting characters in history and mythology that I think would be great additions to the already fantastic lineup of Fate Servants, so it was a really difficult decision to make (I’m sure almost all of my coworkers would say something similar!). I went through a lot of different options, but I kept drifting back to Locusta.
I think it would be interesting to see Locusta in Fate because of her ties to Nero and Caligula, two Servants already present in game. Would Locusta be angry at Nero, since her connection with him put a target on her back after he was dead? I mean, not that the poisoning people thing would have helped her out anyway… On the other hand, she would have been killed years prior, if he hadn’t interfered. So how would THAT play out in the Fate world? My mind spins.
Alignment: Neutral Evil

Weaknesses: Delights in exposing others' secrets, but despairs if her own are ever revealed
Noble Phantasm: "Enigma" — Her Noble Phantasm will trap the mind in an artificial reality almost impossible to distinguish from our own world, leaving those affected catatonic and vulnerable to suggestion and manipulation.
Alignment: True Neutral (In the end, she really just wants more toys to play with)

This envelope cannot be opened, torn, cut, burned, made transparent, scryed, or otherwise accessed until the Holy Grail War is over, at which point Seacrest, if still alive, takes it back, opens it, and reads off the name. In the meantime, clever Masters may find ways to use the indestructible envelope as a tool or a weapon.

Class: Bowler
Origin: Film protagonist, debuted in 1998
Summoning Artifact: A threadbare rug (it really held the room together)
Appearance: Jeff Bridges in plaid shorts, flip-flops, a t-shirt, and a beat-up old sweatshirt. Basically, a Southern Californian hippie. He doesn't bother hiding who he is.
Weapon: Bowling ball. Like...a very shiny bowling ball, man.
Strengths: Ability to remain unfazed by all manner of chaotic happenings; extreme passivity means he can stay materialized by his Mage for a very small mana upkeep
Weaknesses: White Russians, work
Noble Phantasm: "The Dude Abides" — Shifts reality to create a zone in which aggression shall not stand, reducing the hostility of even an attacking Servant to zero. It might just be drugs, but we'll let you be the judge of that.
Alignment: True Neutral
...And okay, we should probably get back to work. Enjoy the game when it comes out next week, and if you think up any more Servants, leave them in the comments below!
Cheers,
~Everyone

off the rack #1256
Monday April 1, 2019
Call me an April fool. I thought that the pure joy of comic book collecting was going the way of the Dodo bird but judging from the attendance of yesterday's Capital Comic Book Convention I'm glad to say I am mistaken. No celebrities. No cosplay. No special events. Just a room full of vendors who also love the hobby and collectors looking for unique and fun comics. I want to thank my partner Chris for all his hard work. He made Jee-Riz's booth a standout in the room. "You don't see this sort of stuff very often" was heard more than once.
Archie #703 - Nick Spencer (writer) Sandy Jarrell (artist) Matt Herms (colours) Jack Morelli (letters). So much going on. We find out who attacks Jughead in the woods and why. I want to be a roadie for Josey and the Pussycats. Betty and Veronica enlists the aid of Cheryl Blossom to ferret out if Archie has a new girlfriend. As long as it's not Betty I'm not jealous of the ginger bonehead.
Avengers #17/LGY #707 - Jason Aaron (writer) David Marquez (art) Erick Arciniega (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). This issue has some of the cheesiest dialogue I have ever read. I really hope that the Vampire War is over. This Avengers team is a bit too goody two shoes for me.
Batman #67 - Tom King (writer) Lee Weeks & Jorge Fornes (art) Lovern Kindzierski (colours) Clayton Cowles (letters). Knightmares part 5. Batman's in his Batman: Year One costume chasing a masked killer. You'll feel like you're watching a Roadrunner cartoon. The guy in the mask is William Ernest Coyote. You're in for a shock when Batman unmasks him.
Savage Sword of Conan #3 - Gerry Duggan (writer) Ron Garney (art) Richard Isanove (colours) VC's Travis Lanham (letters). Conan is captured by the evil wizard Koga Thun but manages to escape to continue his search for treasure. It looks like he's got to fight zombies to get to the treasure. I got all excited when I saw the cover showing Conan fighting alongside Belit but nothing like that happens at all inside. I'm not reading any more of these. I don't like being played for a sucker.
Immortal Hulk #15 - Al Ewing (writer) Joe Bennett (pencils) Ruy Jose (inks) Paul Mounts (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). I love this couch session with Doc Samson and the Hulk, sans couch. The two talk it out after a sniper shoots Betty and the Hulk. Some of the stuff they talk about is quite insightful. You think they're trying to find Betty but they're not. Their final destination is a surprise.
Thor #11 - Jason Aaron (writer) Lee Garbett (art) Antonio Fabela (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). Thor goes looking for his best friend thinking he's going to need all the help he can get in the coming War of the Realms. The Lady Freyja has to make her son stop his foolish search. I like the little snippets showing characters we haven't seen in a while and I can't wait to see what their roles are in the war. Get ready true believers, Malekith is about to invade Midgard.
Avengers LGY #714: No Road Home #7 - Jim Zub, Mark Waid & Al Ewing (writers) Paco Medina (art) Jesus Aburtov (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). This issue features Monica Rambeau/Spectrum. Who better to fight the Queen of Darkness than a being of light. The last page made up for the disappointment I felt reading Savage Sword of Conan #3.
Heroes in Crisis #7 - Tom King (writer) Clay Mann (art pages 1-6, 11, 17,-19, 23-24) Travis Moore (art pages 8-10, 13, 14-16, 20-21) Jorge Fornes (art pages 7, 12, 22) Tomeu Morey (colours) Clayton Cowles (letters). You could read this one issue and it wouldn't make a lick of sense unless you've read the previous 6. I even had a hard time understanding what's going on and I've read every issue. I think the only reason I'm going to read the last two issues is to find out if anything makes sense in the end.
Hulkverines #2 - Greg Pak (writer) Guiu Vilanova (art) Morry Hollowell with Chris Sotomayor (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). We go from Hulkverine, the Hulk and Wolverine fighting each other to the three of them teaming up. Meanwhile the Leader and Doctor Alba, who created Hulkverine, do the super villain equivalent of what the three super heroes did. The result is going to be very interesting. This is the first I've seen of Guiu Vilanova's art and I think it's great.
Ironheart #4 - Eve L. Ewing (writer) Luciano Vecchio (art) Geoffo (layouts) Matt Milla (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). It's a rematch with Midnight's Fire. This new super villain reminds me of Miles's uncle Aaron AKA the Prowler. I hope there isn't too much overlap between these two young super heroes, otherwise I will get bored with one of them.
The Avant-Guards #3 - Carly Usdin (writer) Noah Hayes (art) Rebecca Nalty (colours) Ed Dukeshire (letters). The team has their first practice and play their first game. Major points to Noah for showing the players following through on their shots. I used to love playing basketball but never made my high school team. So I ended up managing both junior and senior teams and got to practice with them. I would love to find someone my own age to shoot some hoops with right now.
Black Widow #3 - Jen & Sylvia Soska (writers) Flaviano (art) Veronica Gandini (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Natasha's mission to shut down an online pay-per-view torture site goes horribly wrong. I can't wait to see how she gets out of this predicament.
Sabrina the teenage witch #1 - Kelly Thompson (writer) Veronica Fish & Andy Fish (art) Jack Morelli (letters). This new comic book is more like the TV show than the gritty ghoulish title that was on the racks a while ago. I liked the old show but haven't seen the new one. I had a crush on Melissa Joan Hart. I really like the writing and art in this so it's going on my "must read" list.
Dial H for Hero #1 - Sam Humphries (writer) Joe Quinones (art) Dave Sharpe (letters). I mainly bought Marvel comics when I got more spending money and could afford new comic books but I did buy this DC title because I liked the concept. Robby Reed was this nerdy kid who finds a rotary telephone dial that changed him into a different super hero whenever he dialled H-E-R-O. he always had different powers and a different costume. This updated version has a kid named Miguel who is an adrenaline junky. An old timey telephone, the whole thing with handset this time, appears before him as he's plummeting towards certain death and he changes into Monster Truck. The Monster Truck pages are quite Kirbyesque. Throw in a page with Damian/ Robin, Lobo, Snapper Carr, Angel and the Ape, Harley Quinn and Alfred and I am hooked. I liked the town troublemaker Summer too. I am looking forward to seeing their further adventures.
Doctor Strange #12 - Mark Waid (writer) Barry Kitson (pencils) Scott Koblish (inks) Brian Reber (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Herald Supreme part 1. Stephen Strange is bored but he won't be for long. An alien from a warrior race of mystics comes to Earth to ask Doctor Strange how he defeated Galactus. I guess there's no Marvel comics where this guy is from. Seems the world eater is fixing to eat his planet. The super aggressive Zoloz manages to steal all of Doc Strange's mystical power and banishes Galactus in the Mystic Realms. Read this issue to find out why that's a bad idea. Now it's up to Stephen to keep the big purple planet eater from feeding and destroying our universe too.
Action Comics #1009 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Steve Epting (art) Brad Anderson (colours) Rob Leigh (letters). Leviathan Rising part 3. Lois is pissed at Amanda Waller but she reigns in her anger to come up with a plan to find out what Leviathan is. We get to see what Gold Kryptonite does, which is kind of cool. It's fun when something new gets added to a story. Superman's transformation surprised me.
Sharkey the bounty hunter #2 - Mark Millar (writer) Simone Bianchi (art & colours) Peter Doherty (letters). This one's a fun space romp. The hunter finds his prey but she's not going to come along quietly.
The Superior Spider-Man #4 - Christos Gage (writer) Mike Hawthorne (pencils) Wade von Grawbadger (inks) Jordie Bellaire (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). I hope this change is permanent but it's going to take some getting used to calling Otto but his new identity Elliot. I like how Anna Maria is the woman behind the man. She teaches him a lesson in humility in this issue. Now I have a craving for Polish sausage.
Shazam #4 - Geoff Johns (writer) Dale Eaglesham & Marco Santucci (art) Mike Atiyeh (colours) Rob Leigh (letters). Yay, my wish came true. We meet Tawky Tawny the tiger in the first 6 pages. This version is quite dapper. The kids get separated with two in the Wildlands, two in the Gamelands and Mary and Billy in the Funlands, contrary to what the cover shows. Who's going to rescue the Marvel Family? The last page will enlighten you. I'm not excited about the movie hitting theatres on April 5 but if it's as good as this comic book, I might go see it.
Fantastic Four #8 - Dan Slott (writer) Aaron Kuder, Stefano Caselli, David Marquez & Reilly Brown (art) Matt Yackey (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Did someone forget to tell cover artist Esad Ribic that Victorious was female? Doctor Doom has captured both Galactus and the Fantastic Four. He's siphoning off the former's cosmic power and is going to execute the latter. Reed, Sue, Ben and Johnny are sure in a pickle. I can't wait to see how they get out of it.
The Amazing Spider-Man #18 - Nick Spencer (writer) Humberto Ramos (pencils) Victor Olazaba (inks) Edgar Delgado & Erick Arciniega (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Hunted part 2. There's a spectre of danger hovering over Mary Jane in the side story. That's always a good plot twist to keep a Spider-Man fan hooked.
Daredevil #3 - Chip Zdarsky (writer) Marco Checchetto (art) Sunny Gho (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). Know Fear part 3. Daredevil's been shot and is about to be arrested for murder. Detective Cole North aims to bring the suspect in no matter what it takes. I wonder if Canadian Chip Zdarsky picked that name as an inside joke? Just when the "tough-as-nails" ex-Chicago cop is about to succeed, Daredevil is rescued. I chuckled when I saw who it was, and it's not Man-Thing.
Detective Comics #1000 - Is this worth $9.99 US? You bet your sweet bippy it is. I might even buy one for myself, but which cover to pick? Here are the choices.
Main cover by Jim Lee (pencils) Scott Williams (inks) & Alex Sinclair (colours)
1930s by Steve Rude (art)
1940s by Bruce Timm (art)
1950s by Michael Cho (art)
1960s by Jim Steranko (art)
1970s by Bernie Wrightson (art) & Alex Sinclair (colours)
1980s by Frank Miller (art) & Alex Sinclair (colours)
1990s by Tim Sale (art) & Brennan Wagner (colours)
2000s by Jock (art)
2010s by Greg Capullo (art) & FCO Plascencia (colours)
 We get 3 pin-ups by:
Mikel Janin (art)
Jason Fabok (art) & Brad Anderson (colours)
Amanda Conner (art) & Paul Mounts (colours)
Then there's all the terrific stories inside that not only shows Batman as a crime fighter but more importantly for this title as a consummate crime solver. You will find all of Batman's family and rogues gallery in here. I loved how this issue was a feast for the eyes too. I'm just going to list the titles of the stories and their creative teams. If you don't buy a copy for your comic book collection then you're missing out on what will be a classic. With a line up like this you can't lose.
Longest Case by Scott Snyder (writer) Greg Capullo (pencils) Jonathan Glapion (inks) FCO Plascencia (colours) & Tom Napolitano (letters).
Manufacture for Use by Kevin Smith (writer) Jim Lee (pencils) Scott Williams (inks) & Alex Sinclair (colours) & Todd Klein (letters).
The Legend of Knute Brody by Paul Dini (writer) Dustin Nguyen (pencils) Derek Fridolfs (inks) John Kalisz (colours) & Steve Wands (letters).
The Batman's Design by Warren Ellis (writer) Becky Cloonan (art) Jordie Bellaire (colours) & Simon Bowland (letters).
Return to Crime Alley by Denny O'Neil (writer) Steve Epting (art) Elizabeth Breitweiser (colours) & AndWorld Design (letters).
Heretic by Christopher Priest (writer) Neal Adams (art) Dave Stewart (colours) & Willie Schubert (letters).
I Know by Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Alex Maleev (art & colours) & Josh Reed (letters).
The Last Crime in Gotham by Geoff Johns (writer) Kelley Jones (art) Michelle Madsen (colours) Rob Leigh (letters).
The Precedent by James Tynion IV (writer) Alvaro Martinez-Bueno (pencils) Raul Fernandez (inks) Brad Anderson (colours) & Sal Cipriano (letters).
Batman's Greatest Case by Tom King (writer) Tony S. Daniel & Joelle Jones (art) Tomeu Morey (colours) & Clayton Cowles (letters).
And finally Medieval by Peter J. Tomasi (writer) Doug Mahnke (pencils) Jaime Mendoza & Doug Mahnke (inks) David Baron (colours) & Rob Leigh (letters).
That last story introduces a new (at least to me) Gotham City crime fighter named the Arkham Knight. His story continues in Detective Comics #1001 and I'm going to snag that issue off the racks to find out who he is.
