Stacy’s Favorite Completed Captain Swan AU Fics

I have mentioned before that reading Captain Swan fics has kept me going through this pandemic and has lightened my mood through the election.  I thought I would take a moment to mention some of my favorite completed AU fics.  

I have to really thank all the lovely fic writers on this list for continuing to write about this beautiful couple long after the show has left the air. As a former Glee Fanfiction writer, I know the struggle of getting in the chapters, waiting for comments, and hoping with that sick feeling in your gut that people will like it. These writers are very lovely and have created great stories that I have loved reading!

Captain Swan Fic Embraced Ideas

I’ve been doing a LOT of Captain Swan fanfic reading to get through the election and the pandemic and I’ve been noticing a few things.  

Mostly how this fandom has an awesome group of writers, but besides that I love how there are a few things that we as a fandom of canon divergent or AU fics have deliciously embraced and accepted and are strung through many different fics and writers.

1. Liam and Elsa dating/married

2. Neal is usually a douchebag

3. Gold is either in prison or dead

4. Thus Belle is with Will

5.Killian’s best buds with Will and Robin

6. David is Emma’s brother

7. While either Mary Margaret or Ruby are Emma’s best friend(s)

8. Emma’s go to alternative date that upsets Killian is usually Graham or she’s been saddled with Walsh

9. Kilian's go to alternative date that upsets Emma is usually Tink

Its like we all got together in a secret meeting or sent out a memo and just decided these were accepted ideas and we embraced them with love.  

Thank you to all the writers out there who keep everyone distracted from the fucked up year that has been 2020.  I plan to do a <3 list of my fave fics soon!
