Been working on some paleoart between commission work since I leave for SVP in 2 weeks and dinosaurs are understandably on the brain
Here's a Riparovenator hunting, inkwash and inkpen on a sketchbook that's probably meant for neither lol

NEW SPECIES UPDATE:
Mark the date; today we have officially released our pachycepholosaurs, micropachycepholosaurs, and stygimoloch herds onto the island!
GOOD NEWS:
We have video and eyewitness reports of a single spinosaurus and baryonyx roaming the island! They sure are troopers!
BAD NEWS:
We’re down to just eight acrocanthosaurines left, let’s cross our fingers and hope that they pull through this recent viral outbreak! 🤞

Dinofact #100
Siamosaurus was the first spinosaurid dinosaur reported in Asia. It is known confidently only from teeth, and it yet undetermined if two partial spinosaurid skeletons from Thailand and an isolated tooth from Japan also belong to the genus.

Text
IMO, Spinosaurus aegyptiacus is an example of a transitional fossil wherein we have not found the more derived species yet, or the more derived species does not exist. It has more aquatic features than the majority of other theropod dinosaurs, and more than other spinosaurid specimens that we have found, but has significantly less aquatic traits than other semi-aquatic species such as crocodilians or diving birds. This is a lineage delineated by their elongated skulls, long necks, and presence of traits that differ from other theropod dinosaurs. Spinosaurus, in my eyes, was a step deeper in the water. I cannot say whether a more derived spinosaurid exists, or even a fully aquatic species, but i do believe that Spinosaurus distinctly falls more on the aquatic side of semiaquatic.
